From day one, the staff treated me with respect, patience, and genuine care. They didn’t just see me as another participant they took the time to understand my situation and helped guide me toward making better decisions for my future. The program provided structure, accountability, and real support when I needed it most. What stood out the most was how invested everyone was in my growth. Whether it was counseling, job readiness, or just having someone to talk to, the resources they offered made a real difference in my life. Even after completing the program, the lessons and discipline I gained have stayed with me and continue to help me move in the right direction. Two years later, I’m in a much better place mentally, emotionally, and professionally and I truly credit a big part of that to the South Suburban Council. Throughout my time here that feeling never left and was only reenforced by every staff member I interacted with the entire time I was here in treatment. I was assigned Pam as my primary counselor, and I cannot thank this woman enough for all she has done for me. The topics we touched on were so personal and delicate and she was constantly present and engaged for all of it. Her insight, really her intuition, was so genuine and accurate during our sessions it amazed me. The staff are mostly friendly and it's easy to get into the clinic within a day or two. Once you get to the correct methadone dose the dope sickness is mostly gone and then you can slowly get back to a normal life. I've had a few counselors since going here and all were nice and professional but my current one Gary is Awesome. He seems to really care and is always helpful. I would most likely be dead if I didn't sign up at Family Guidance. If you're looking for a way to stop using dope give this clinic a try. It has been the perfect place to fine-tune medical needs and recover for our loved ones advanced wound care and complex respiratory needs. The communication with the nursing staff was truly excellent; they were attentive and intuitive regarding the specific needs of our loved one. The Nurses, CNAs, and Techs are absolute "angels" who treated us like family throughout the duration of this long stay. The accessibility of the medical team was incredible. We deeply appreciated the frequent updates and the ability to see Dr. Al daily. He made us feel like active partners in the care plan, especially when monitoring lab ratios and daily progress. His approach is a rarity in a hospital setting—he is friendly and conversational, much like a family physician who has known our family for 25 years. Additionally, Engy, the Dietitian, was incredibly helpful. She created a customized nutrition plan using science with specific math to tailor his ventilator weaning and wound-healing needs. She was a true partner in this process—agreeable to our requests and even praying for our family~such a beautiful heart. And the Respiratory therapist and Dr. Najjar were so very tuned-in to his daily respiratory progress. They were incredibly patient--never giving up. They understood the importance of consistancy --going "slow and steady" when weaning became challenging, and because of their expertise and adjustments, our loved one is making steady, sustainable progress to be ventilator free. I really like the staff here. They're genuinely trying to help you. They have great programs to cope, manage and recognize what you need. I got really lucky because I had a group of strong, collective, beautiful women. The only thing that sucked was it was winter and someone came in with the flu. It was the worse 10 days of my life and my medicine never came... Other than that I'm still sober and working hard at sober living and it's all thanks to this place helping me network out.

I had the opportunity to go through the South Suburban Council program about two years ago, and I can confidently say it was a life-changing experience. From day one, the staff treated me with respect, patience, and genuine care. They didn’t just see me as another participant they took the time to understand my situation and helped guide me toward making better decisions for my future. The program provided structure, accountability, and real support when I needed it most. What stood out the most was how invested everyone was in my growth. Whether it was counseling, job readiness, or just having someone to talk to, the resources they offered made a real difference in my life. Even after completing the program, the lessons and discipline I gained have stayed with me and continue to help me move in the right direction. Two years later, I’m in a much better place mentally, emotionally, and professionally and I truly credit a big part of that to the South Suburban Council. If you’re considering this program or have been referred to it, I highly recommend taking it seriously and giving it your all. It can genuinely help change your life if you let it. Five stars all the way.

PSI saved my life. The people here not only helped me want to live a healthier life, but they also helped me find my voice again. This was my second IOP program and honestly the service and care that I received was on a completely different level. Mike Geraci is one of the best therapists I've ever had the pleasure of working with. PSI and Mike went above and beyond for me and my peers to make sure that we finished the program ready to jump back into our lives. I also spent time and stayed at the sober living apartments through PSI and would highly recommend this choice. The apartment was comfortable and in a great location. I also met some of my best friends here and made lasting friendships. I am forever grateful to PSI. Thank you again for everything!

PSI was an experience in honesty, structure, and human connection that’s helped me rebuild after years of destructive patterns and self medication. What stays with me most is how powerful it is to be around people who understand what I was dealing with firsthand. The group setting paired with direct medical and emotional support encouraged real change to begin when fear, shame, impulsive behavior, and isolation had taken over. They approach recovery as not just about stopping harmful behavior—it also looks to address anxiety, depression, trauma, distorted thinking, and other underlying mental health struggles through therapy, accountability, education, and consistent support While the focus of the program deals with very heavy topics - the care teams I worked with made me feel heard, comfortable, and safe. As well, they allowed and encouraged me to be my authentic self - helpful, gracious, and kind with the singular purpose of getting me well.

Whether you bring yourself to PSI or you are told you need to go here - no one thinks that rehab is where they will end up and I was no exception. The staff here realize that. My first day walking in the doors and being greeted by Sandy to start the process I felt a sense of welcome, warmth, and understanding. Throughout my time here that feeling never left and was only reenforced by every staff member I interacted with the entire time I was here in treatment. I was assigned Pam as my primary counselor, and I cannot thank this woman enough for all she has done for me. The topics we touched on were so personal and delicate and she was constantly present and engaged for all of it. Her insight, really her intuition, was so genuine and accurate during our sessions it amazed me. If anyone I know is ever struggling with addiction, I would not hesitate to send them here as I know they will get everything they need and more to help them on their journey.

Been going to Family Guidance for awhile now and I absolutely recommend this methadone clinic to anyone struggling with opiate addiction. The staff are mostly friendly and it's easy to get into the clinic within a day or two. Once you get to the correct methadone dose the dope sickness is mostly gone and then you can slowly get back to a normal life. I've had a few counselors since going here and all were nice and professional but my current one Gary is Awesome. He seems to really care and is always helpful. I would most likely be dead if I didn't sign up at Family Guidance. If you're looking for a way to stop using dope give this clinic a try.

I was in Suncloud’s Residential, PHP, and IOP program for 5 months and it changed the course of my life. When I went in I was suffering from anxiety, depression, severe substance abuse, grief, and trauma. Today I am 5 months sober from alcohol, weed, marijuana, and nicotine, I’m enrolled in school, go to the gym, and am working towards my career. It was the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life but I’m thankful I put in the work and showed up everyday. Kindred was a wonderful and peaceful respite during our transition from the hospital. It has been the perfect place to fine-tune medical needs and recover for our loved ones advanced wound care and complex respiratory needs. The communication with the nursing staff was truly excellent; they were attentive and intuitive regarding the specific needs of our loved one. The Nurses, CNAs, and Techs are absolute "angels" who treated us like family throughout the duration of this long stay. The accessibility of the medical team was incredible. We deeply appreciated the frequent updates and the ability to see Dr. Al daily. He made us feel like active partners in the care plan, especially when monitoring lab ratios and daily progress. His approach is a rarity in a hospital setting—he is friendly and conversational, much like a family physician who has known our family for 25 years. Additionally, Engy, the Dietitian, was incredibly helpful. She created a customized nutrition plan using science with specific math to tailor his ventilator weaning and wound-healing needs. She was a true partner in this process—agreeable to our requests and even praying for our family~such a beautiful heart. And the Respiratory therapist and Dr. Najjar were so very tuned-in to his daily respiratory progress. They were incredibly patient--never giving up. They understood the importance of consistancy --going "slow and steady" when weaning became challenging, and because of their expertise and adjustments, our loved one is making steady, sustainable progress to be ventilator free. Kindred combines a high-level medical expertise with a compassionate, human touch. To Linda, the Director of Nursing and the supervisors, they also went above and beyond to accommodate both patient and family needs. ~May God bless you

I recently visited this medical office, and the entire staff was incredibly helpful, including the doctors. The doctor I saw in Suite 900 was especially friendly, attentive, and made me feel comfortable throughout my visit. I usually don’t look forward to returning to a medical office more than necessary, but thanks to the amazing staff here, this is one place I would actually feel good about coming back to.

This is by far the most effective clinic for a few reasons, Transportation wise you can get here on about 7 different buses 78 Montrose, 81 Lawrence, 151 Sheridan,146 and 147 inner and outer lake shore drive buses the red line, purple line express and they open at 5:30 in the morning they are very private respecting the HIPPA laws and your medical privacy. I went to 5 different clinics before coming here and this is the one clinic that gets it right truly tailored to your needs. So, quality of life is yours, not theirs. I recommend this clinic for more than 1 reason but the only reason that matters is how your sobriety gets handled with care.

A&B was the point of recovery from my addiction, I am so grateful for the great change I’ve seen in my life. The staff was very helpful, they always gave me assistance when I needed it. Everyone, including clients, were respectful towards the other people, and all the friends I made there were as comfortable as I was by being there. They were a life changing experience.

Three of us is sitting around and reading about this person who say that people are drunk and high here and that is not true. I am here all th time and that is not what i see happening here. I could not stop drinking for 29 years and I tried everything and now I got me over three months. That never happened at any of these other pleaces, which I been to them all. Plus the peoples here love you and treat you with respect. I wish I know who write that because I don't think somebody write that whose been here. This is a GOOD PLACE!

I’m starting the third week of IOP at Gateway and it has changed my life. The warmth nurturing, kind understanding environment is everything I could ever have hoped for. Went in scared, nervous and I’m standing here today to say it is the best hundred percent best program I have ever ever been a part of and it already has truly changed my life. I count on the group of people every single day and I think of them when I want to take another drink and I know that they will all have a look in their eye of disappointment and I don’t want to do that for them and I have not had a drink in three weeks. Chris is the best group leader, counselor person and friend that anyone going through this could ever pray for. I will be forever grateful. I am writing this feeling like I want to cry. I’m so grateful. Im soooo fortunate to have found this program. I did not go impatient however I hear the people in my groups say that it was such a great experience as well.
