Realizing I just had brain surgery—and had a tube draining blood from my head—dropped that rating into the negatives. But let me tell you, the ICU and PCU teams went so far above and beyond, they practically orbited the earth. If I named every amazing person, you’d be reading this until tomorrow. Over four terrifying days, they showed me a level of love, patience, and professionalism that kept me from completely losing my mind. We simply do not give hospital staff enough credit. The sweet girl who cleaned my room brought a massive smile with her every single time she walked in. The cute girl who took my meal orders somehow made me feel like I was dining at a high-end French restaurant—and honestly, the food was actually good! Then there was my bed. The true MVP. It aggressively screamed for help if I made even one wrong move. I’m pretty sure that mattress was more invested in my survival than I was. To my nurse from Alaska, who scolded me not to run away with all the fierce authority of a worried mother (which is hilarious, considering I am triple her age): thank you. To my sweet nurse heading to Tampa who actually shed tears with me: you are an angel. I apologize for being such a scared, nervous wreck, but I could write an entire book about how wonderful you all are. You all deserve medals. And then... there’s Dr. Torres, who managed to ruin this beautiful vibe in exactly five minutes. I will be having a separate chat with management about him, but let’s just say he should probably discover what a shower is, leave his nasty, dirty bag at home, and strongly consider immediate retirement. My experience with him was the absolute worst. But to the rest of the staff: God bless you all, and thank you for everything you do! By dinner people are getting back from work and then there's a 2 hour or so night group. I never got a job while I was there because they were afraid for me to work near smoke shops SMH.... I was really just there to please the court and not go to prison. To be honest I give it a 4 star because they really do try. if I was would've been there to get sober like others that I knew were there itd probably work... The receptionist, Miss Davena, has helped me twice when I was struggling in the lobby. The facility is nice and they keep it clean. The whole staff is kind. The staff did have some simple communication issues, but Miss Davina is just an amazing woman; She made sure I was taken care of when I came in struggling and needed some gentle guidance on how the facility runs their programs.

Waking up in the ICU with no memory of what happened is a solid zero out of ten on the Yelp scale of life events. Realizing I just had brain surgery—and had a tube draining blood from my head—dropped that rating into the negatives. But let me tell you, the ICU and PCU teams went so far above and beyond, they practically orbited the earth. If I named every amazing person, you’d be reading this until tomorrow. Over four terrifying days, they showed me a level of love, patience, and professionalism that kept me from completely losing my mind. We simply do not give hospital staff enough credit. The sweet girl who cleaned my room brought a massive smile with her every single time she walked in. The cute girl who took my meal orders somehow made me feel like I was dining at a high-end French restaurant—and honestly, the food was actually good! Then there was my bed. The true MVP. It aggressively screamed for help if I made even one wrong move. I’m pretty sure that mattress was more invested in my survival than I was. To my nurse from Alaska, who scolded me not to run away with all the fierce authority of a worried mother (which is hilarious, considering I am triple her age): thank you. To my sweet nurse heading to Tampa who actually shed tears with me: you are an angel. I apologize for being such a scared, nervous wreck, but I could write an entire book about how wonderful you all are. You all deserve medals. And then... there’s Dr. Torres, who managed to ruin this beautiful vibe in exactly five minutes. I will be having a separate chat with management about him, but let’s just say he should probably discover what a shower is, leave his nasty, dirty bag at home, and strongly consider immediate retirement. My experience with him was the absolute worst. But to the rest of the staff: God bless you all, and thank you for everything you do!

Mrs. Karen is by the greatest lady I have delt with.she genuinely cares about my son. We had many obstacles over the last 5 years with his ADHD and she was always following up checking in finding the best solution for him and our family. She has even helped us with the school to get recommendations to tge programs the school was dragging thier feet on. Mrs Jennifer was our child and family coordinator/ therapist and she was more than patient with us. This organization transformed my brothers life. He was lost in a drug addiction life for most of his life, until he found God in this center. My son is completely transformed. He is definitely on his way to becoming the man that God has called him to be. Teen challenge is absolutely hands down the answer to your love one's addiction. They will help you with the treatment option that is right for you. Some opportunities are residential and some are outpatient. I was there from October 2023 to April 2024 to be honest it beat jail but that's about it. Their wasn't much they knew what to do with us. Get up early walk to breakfast. come back have a 15 minute group with your "word of the day.." then do random chores that some of the residents take pride in and all serious. When it hardly does anything just keep us busy. A nicotine group and then lunch. after this they either walk us to the gym or have another pointless group. By dinner people are getting back from work and then there's a 2 hour or so night group. I never got a job while I was there because they were afraid for me to work near smoke shops SMH.... I was really just there to please the court and not go to prison. To be honest I give it a 4 star because they really do try. if I was would've been there to get sober like others that I knew were there itd probably work...

I am a graduate from back in like 1982, there were 6 other graduates in my group, it wasn't easy but I learned some important life lessons and how to positively manipulate situations rather than negative manipulation or other behaviors. I got my GED and graduated highschool there. I left and while still a teenager a studied insurance and became very successful. I think much of it was due to what I learned there.

I wasn't an in-patient but I wasn't coming from a great place. I had just moved here and I'm blown away by the support this place has given me. I might not have been around for this review with them. Not all the docs are awesome and I have an issue with 15 minute psych appointments but that's the systems fault not theirs. But overall this place is amazing with people working hard to help their community and people in need. Also use their pharmacy, the chain store pharmacies rob us blind. A full hearted thank you to all who work here.

I highly recommend Apalachee to anyone struggling with mental health problems. I've been receiving therapy from Apalachee Center for years. They provided me with a VERY qualified professional therapist by the name of Sri Kothur. I've been doing therapy with Sri for over a year. Every time I speak with Sri, I gain critical insights about tailoring cognitive behavioral therapy methods to my specific personal mental health struggles. Before I received help from Apalachee, seemingly uncontrollable emotional episodes were ruining my life. Apalachee Center helped me understand why I struggle and they made sure I received the assistance I needed to begin the LONG journey of recovery.

This has been a good, learning experience as a staff person working with individuals who need the help but don't want it. I have grown the know so many different personalities and how they operate. This job has taught me the true meaning of forgiveness, patience, love and kindness. No one talks about the staff who go out of their way to help with services. People are dissatisfied because they don't get to tell staff what to do and don't tolerate negative, condescending statements from those we serve. Bein respectful is an expectation.
