Alpine has such an amazing program.
When I first came to Alpine, I was tired of being sick and exhausted from Alcoholism.
I had the privilege of working with Montana. She made the intake process easy and met me where I was at.
Upon arrival, I was greeted by Austin, who made the intake process relaxed and chill, and I felt safe.
I met the doctor on my first day who was through and knew what he was doing, and he got me on medications that worked!
I have had the privilege of working with Shannon, who is phenomenal. She is the kind of gal who knows what’s up and will tell you the truth in the most honest and loving way. She led classes that were beneficial and educational.
Jake is a fantastic therapist, and you are blessed if you are on his caseload. He is a man full of knowledge, wisdom and empathy. I’ve never worked with a male therapist before and I felt safe within our first session.
Heather who handles case management is doing God’s work. No seriously. She answered all my questions, made sure all of my outside stuff was handled and made discharge planning a breeze.
Process group is essential in my opinion and Ami, Kelli, Will and Jake made me feel at ease sharing.
If your looking for a treatment center, look know further. Alpine has helped me tremendously and I cannot thank them enough.
Also, the mentors are terrific. Kelsie, Sara, Hans and Austin made a positive impact on me during my time at Alpine and I cannot thank them enough. They are living proof that sobriety is achievable and that the light comes back.
Special shout out to Laura for being a phenomenal house manager. She is wonderful and if you get a chance to cross paths with her you will be amazed.

State Hospital South is a psychiatric hospital wi | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I was there in 2019 June and July but I still had voices telling me to stick my head in the river and keep ot there so I went in August too.The first day I was there I couldn't go outside for fresh air, that is one of rules. I really like the arts and crafts time, they even finished my hat for me. The 3rd time (Feb-April 2023) I went they didn't have church ministry anymore because of Covid but I think they have live feeds from a church. The ones that are charged from jail say it's like a 6 week vacation. They have a lot of motivation to keep your bed clean and walking to get snack cart coupons. I want to send the library Luis Palau Movie and Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Avonlea. They play a lot of Avengers movies or super hero ones.
Heather was a good provider and I had a nice clinician too. I'm trying to think of what they could improve on. In the groups I felt a little vulnerable sharing fears but I liked the saying we're not here to make friends we're here to work on yourself. There was a patient that kept saying he had 7 baby mommas and his grandma took pictures of all of them. I liked having the earphones to listen to music too. Mike rocks!

I was committed by Twin falls county 4 times and Bannock County 1 time to State Hospital South. This was 5 times In a 3 year period. The longest they kept me was 7 weeks even though my family and I both desperately plead with the hospital and courts for more time to get things right. They are over flooded with commitments from all over the state and it's in their interest to keep people moving through even if they require more time to stabilize. Other than this 1 complaint I was always treated with the utmost respect and dignity and I am a chronic pain patient and at the time which was 2009,2010, and 2011 they worked with my home providers to keep my high dosages of opioids going while at the hospital. I realize in today's world they probably would not do the same for me but at the time if I would have been pulled off my methadone and Oxycodone it would have sent me into a further spiral so I'm very thankful that they treated this in a humane manner. I probably would have not returned so many times back to back if I just would have been given more time the first time or second time around. I hope they read this and keep this in mind when rushing patients into discharge. It would have saved the state dept of health and welfare and the courts and my insurance a lot of money to just keep me a little longer the first time. I often waited 30 days sitting in St Luke's Canyon View in Twin Falls after my commitment was official before a bed opened at SHS which just shows you how full they are always kept or was at that time period. I only imagine things have got worse now with so many people from other states moving to Idaho. I live in California now which is my home state and the hospitals here are horrible compared to in Idaho. It's been a long time since I have been in one but my best hospital memories are at State Hospital South. They have a patient library, cafe, completely separate medical clinic for health problems and we were allowed to walk outside in open grounds. They even took us on a activity to go bowling at a local bowling alley in Blackfoot. You have to remember many reviews of mental health facilities are bad but that's what you get when the population they serve are forced into the hospital by legal holds and commitments against their will. I am one of the few ex patients that see my going here as something that saved me from myself at the time. I have a lot of appreciation for the hospital.

Treatment only works when you genuinely want to be there and are willing to accept help. I credit Pathways—and the people in my life who convinced me to go—with saving my life. I wanted and needed the help, and they provided the kind of empathetic yet challenging environment that helped me overcome decades of destructive thought patterns and behaviors.
Everyone I worked with, from house staff to the CEO, was supportive beyond expectations, all focused on the main goal: helping me to help myself get better.
Pathways is voluntary, you do not "get fired". If you have conflict with staff or other clients, it is the best place to be since trained staff and supportive peers are there to help. It's the whole point.
For any peers that remember me: I wish you all the best--you're amazing!
For staff: Thank you from the deepest parts of my soul for the difference you've made in my life.

Look no further, this is the place. Coming to Wasatch Recovery was the BEST decision I ever made. For years I had been desperately trying to change my lifestyle and pull myself out of addiction without success. Wasatch changed everything for me. The therapists are extremely qualified and very intuitive. I learned so much from them and the rest of the staff. They taught me how to align myself with the best version of myself, to love myself, to practice integrity, to be honest, to serve and uplift others, to be accountable, and gave me so many tools to grow and heal not only while I was there but things I still use now 10 months out of rehab.

My name is Marissa, and I attended New Haven (Spanish Fork Campus) from 2013 to 2014, residing in the Roosevelt house. I’m writing this review to provide a balanced perspective in light of the recent negative attention New Haven has received from some former alumni. I hope my insights can help future parents in their decision-making.
When I arrived at New Haven, I was transitioning from a physically demanding wilderness program called Second Nature. I was in great physical shape, weighing 140 pounds with a muscular build. However, during my time at New Haven, I experienced rapid weight gain, reaching a peak of 198 pounds by the time I left, and I’m 5'5" tall. Despite my significant weight gain being monitored weekly, it didn’t seem to raise alarms with the medical staff, which is something I believe could be improved.
One aspect of my experience at New Haven was the treatment team. It could be intimidating to sit in a room with eight or so people evaluating my progress and behavior, especially when they shared feedback in front of other girls during our Thursday meetings. While this process could feel humiliating at times, I now understand the importance of accountability in a therapeutic environment. It’s not about abuse; rather, it’s about encouraging personal growth and forcing you to confront your actions and their consequences.
On a positive note, I genuinely appreciated the daily routine at New Haven. The small school program offered focused, one-on-one attention that I desperately needed. Additionally, bringing my cat, Neko, home with me was a truly special part of my experience.
I’ve noticed that many individuals who express dissatisfaction with New Haven often struggle with gender dysphoria. In my opinion, New Haven may not be the best fit for children seeking gender identity therapy. Instead, I believe it effectively serves those dealing with issues such as substance abuse, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, hyper-promiscuity, family-related challenges, and occasionally eating disorders.
Through reflection, I've come to realize that the consequences I faced at New Haven were a direct result of my actions rather than any form of abuse as stated in other reviews. While I sometimes felt that the consequences were overwhelming as a teenager, this experience ultimately led to my growth. Acknowledging my role in my circumstances was difficult but liberating. Although I hold some resentment for missing key moments in my teenage years, like prom and high school events, I am incredibly grateful to be sober and alive today. I cherish the memories I do have, especially considering the path I was on before coming to New Haven.
I sometimes find myself missing the supportive environment at New Haven and would love the opportunity to return for a tour. Overall, my experience was complex, but it undeniably contributed to my growth and well-being. The road after has been challenging, but I learned invaluable tools to navigate issues like drug abuse, abusive relationships, and self-hatred. Now at 27, I do not regret my time at New Haven; in fact, I sometimes wish I had appreciated it more. This establishment is not abusive; it’s a place that encourages you to face your reality and grow from it. As hard as it is, it’s not abusive.

The family atmosphere and the amazing staff who genuinely care and always had my best interests at heart, the case management team were amazing at helping me to figure out a safe place to live and aftercare, the medical staff especially Sarah!! were amazing at helping me find the right medications and make sure I was sleeping well and feeling good and I can’t say enough about the clinical team!! I changed my life at reflections and I would recommend it for anyone who wants to get real solid treatment and not just a vacation!! Thank you Dustin and all the staff!!

I’m sadly a frequent flyer for detox centers, I’ve probably been to about 10, both in and outside of the Ada County area. This is the best detox center I’ve ever been to. The staff is kind and doesn’t judge you. This is a great safe place to detox and the case workers will work with you for next steps. They’ve saved my life and changed it.

My name is Arthur and recently stayed at the facility. It was the most supportive and positive place I could have picked to deal with my addiction. Besides the atmosphere there, the staff was always on there toes, and never missed a beat. If you have a serious problem and need around the clock attention this is the place you need to go. I will never forget them. Thank you!

I attended the Optimal Aging Program for 3 weeks at HMHI. I would highly recommend it to fellow seniors who are struggling with anxiety and depression. The OAP combines psychiatric care with group, art, music and recreational therapy and many opportunities to socialize with staff and participants. The small group of 6 participants allows for plenty of personal attention, tracking and feedback. The feeling of not being alone in the journey towards mental health and stability is invaluable. Interaction with all the staff was supportive, caring, attentive and often lots of fun and shared enjoyment. I highly recommend this program.

I wish I would have known about this program sooner. It has been very helpful and has brightened each new day for me. Bri, Amber and Anne have got to be the most positive, patient people and do a wonderful job getting us through the program and to a better place. And while they are doing this they are working with students and other professionals on different aspects of the program to help us along. Last, being able to see Dr Freimer has also been an important part of this program and will help me going forward. Thank you everyone at OAP, you change lives for which we will all benefit from.

JMCR was foun | Treatments Payment Options | Past client here, I spend almost two months at JMCR and during that time I was able to make so much progress to become the person I always wanted to be. JMCR allowed me to see my strengths and find love for myself, It taught me just how compassionate I really am and the impact that I have on others. Reggie and his team are experts in their field and work tirelessly (with love) to affect positive change in their clients. I remember on one occasion some of the staff were just reflecting on the emotional energy of time and tears started to well in their eyes. They told us how they just want the best for us and truly were expressing just how much they cared. Where other treatment programs might be punitive, JMCR takes a different approach to build you up with respect and compassion to help you find your strengths. Nothing could have helped me more than how JMCR helped me. I will be thankful for it for the rest of my life and I will never forget the people I met along the way! It’s important to note that I tried other treatment centers and they didn’t quite work… GO WITH JMCR you won’t regret it!
