the psychiatrist i was seeing through ascension was alright. i decided to transfer care from her to a different ascension provider. while i think dr. raza is good at what she does, i think she lacks something. i had an appointment scheduled (a 1 month follow up) back in the beginning of january for 4:30pm. i received a call from a number i didn’t recognize the day before my appointment. i answered it and it was dr. raza. she was calling to ask me if i could meet earlier the same day for our appointment. i said yes and left work 30 minutes early to have privacy for the telehealth appointment. im aware me leaving work early is my own decision and im not upset that i lost that time of paid work. but the new time of our appointment came and went with no call or texts for checking in for the appointment. there have been times when dr. raza has left me waiting in the zoom waiting room and usually if she wouldn’t meet for the zoom she would call me. so i waited for a call from her and didn’t receive one. i called the number she called me from and it rang 3 or 4 times and then the line disconnected, or whoever was on the other line picked up my call but then hung up. i’m not sure. around almost 2 hours later i received a call from one of the front desk receptionist asking if i met with dr. raza. the receptionist was very nice, all of the receptionist at this location are so friendly and helpful. she was just as confused as i was. this experience with dr. raza made me want to switch providers/transfer care. it’s not that i don’t think she’s competent because she is. it really just didn’t sit right with me how this whole situation went down. i have seen dr. raza since i started coming to ascension but there were other little things that happened that made me not want to continue care with her. every time i met with her she would ask the same questions, it felt very robotic at times. she would always ask if i see a therapist and i would always answer yes. my confusion from her asking me this is, isnt it in my chart/file that im seeing a therapist? especially since the therapist i see is in literally the same building as her? i understand too that i am not dr. raza’s only patient and i dont expect any provider to remember every little detail about their patients. it’s just that every appointment i had with her felt like it was a new patient appointment because she would ask me all the same questions every single time. i’m expressing a lot of empathy by saying that i have no idea how many patients dr. raza, or any ascension provider, sees on a daily basis, or what their typical case load is like. i can imagine it’s a lot to take on and a lot for one person to handle. to me, it just felt like there was a disconnect from me and my psychiatrist. and i’m not saying this was a terrible experience by any means, dr. raza is a good doctor. for me it just feels like i need someone new who can look at my case with maybe a new perspective. i haven’t seen my new provider yet but i hope she is able to help me as well.

I've struggled my entire life with low self-esteem, low self-confidence, depression, anxiety - building up walls to protect myself from discomfort, vulnerability, hurt, rejection, you name it. My parents divorced when I was 11 and that only seemed to reinforce those walls. I didn't let anyone in. I've worked with countless mental health providers over the years, but I never felt comfortable enough to expose my true self and dig deep to the root of my struggles. I happened upon CST Counseling at one of my low points last year and was paired up with Megan Fuller. I felt an instant, genuine connection with her. She made me feel comfortable. She listened. She somehow remembered everything I said without taking notes. Speaking with Megan never felt like the typical patient/therapist interaction that I was used to. It felt like I was talking with a friend. After a while a weird thing happened for me... I actually looked forward to my sessions with Megan. I've been seeing her for over a year now, by far the longest I've ever maintained the same therapist. A few months back, Megan suggested I work with Jordan Rieke (also at CST) to manage my medications and just like Megan, I felt a genuine connection with Jordan as well. I was seeing a psychiatrist that maybe gave me 5 minutes every few months and I felt like I was just another client. But not with Jordan. It felt like I had another friend to talk to. She adjusted my medication (the same one I'd been taking for almost 10 years) and I almost immediately felt the benefits. I don't get happy about much, but I am happy and grateful that I found these two to help me take down my wall brick by brick, and help me get out there and live the life I've been avoiding for decades. I am forever grateful to the staff and big book people who came in to help the ignorant, selfish, low bottom, sick individuals like I myself once was. NIRC has helped me in countless ways and I owe a lot to them for helping me get where I am today. The staff is amazing, they will do anything in their power to support you in recovery and go out of their way to help in anyway they can; they truly want to see you succeed and helped me be sober for 4 years. Groups are helpful in that you are able to be vulnerable and get so much information to help get you through any situation - the therapists are there to help walk you through at any stage of your recovery. Clients are more than supportive and understand what we are all going through; they want to help not only themselves but everyone around them. NIRC is like a little family and with all the help we get, we can all make it through the challenging times.

They were professional and diligent in my treatment. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone facing struggles with mental health and addiction. This place saved my loved ones life. Seriously. He was Deep in addiction when he got here and I was fearful because of the reviews and because his addiction was just so bad I didn’t know if anything was going to help. Before footprints, I was planning to bury my loved one. He is now healthy, clean and sober and has a career. I can never thanks footprints to recovery enough. All the staff was very kind to me when I went to visit and drop stuff off for him. The only reason we’re missing a star is because my loved one had some issues with a staff member named Quan(?) who was being weird to patients. Other than that, amazing experience for my loved one. Thank you guys for saving his life and brightening up mine.

I am consistently blown away by the care that SunCloud provides for individuals specifically with co-occurring disorders. They have a new adolescent residential program in Matteson, IL where care is literally non-existent. Colleen Kestel is their VP of Operations and is very selective on who she works with. I’ve trusted Colleen as a dietitian for many years, as well as Dr. Kim Dennis. I highly recommend SunCloud, especially for those with co-occurring disorders, who need a higher level of care!

I began IOP and individual counseling at Rosecrance in February 2026, and I can honestly say it has been one of the most positive and impactful decisions I’ve made. My counselor Dominique is truly exceptional — she embodies everything you hope to find in a counselor. From my very first session, Dominique made me feel genuinely heard and understood. She listens with real empathy, never makes you feel judged, and creates a space where it’s safe to be completely honest. That kind of environment is rare and so incredibly valuable, especially when you’re navigating something difficult in your personal life. What sets Dominique apart is her combination of warmth and professionalism. She doesn’t just listen — she provides thoughtful guidance and practical tools that I’ve been able to carry with me outside of our sessions. Her knowledge and approach have helped me build real coping skills that have made a meaningful difference in my day-to-day life. Rosecrance as an organization has also impressed me with the quality of care and the caliber of their staff. Dominique will absolutely keep you on your toes, but if you want it bad enough, anything is possible — just put the work in and you will have true companionship throughout the entire experience. I cannot recommend her enough.

Suncloud has been a life saver. The staff was and is always welcoming and caring. One of the things that has been the most helpful for me has been the aftercare, follow ups and continued connection I get with them. It has become part of my family now and its a lifestyle. One of the things I lost in my life was a sense of being part of my community and having that desire to isolate from people. I dont feel that way anymore because of Suncloud. Now I have friends and people I really trust. Which is huge to me with my trust issues. Suncloud taught me that I cannot do this alone and showed me that I wasnt alone. This is a lifelong journey and my life is better now because I chose to do something about it, and Suncloud gave me the tools I needed. I really like the staff here. They're genuinely trying to help you. They have great programs to cope, manage and recognize what you need. I got really lucky because I had a group of strong, collective, beautiful women. The only thing that sucked was it was winter and someone came in with the flu. It was the worse 10 days of my life and my medicine never came... Other than that I'm still sober and working hard at sober living and it's all thanks to this place helping me network out.

While being at RCA I met people who genuinely cared about me getting well. I was a little skeptical at first that what I was experiencing was real, but throughout my stay I found that these people genuinely cared. With their help I learned that the only way that I was going to stay well is by connecting with others who are serious about recovery and by participating in my own recovery. I am sober today because RCA was there for me then and is there for me now via Alumni meetings and events. I want to thank all the staff for their professionalism, genuine care and for just being there when I needed help.

17Apr2026 Review changed to 5 Stars. Extremely helpful couple working the mid-counter were able Guide me to the secondary eye clinic, Brenda was super friendly getting me checked into the acute Eye clinic. Additionally while I waited the workers at the coffee lounge we're exceedingly helpful and very cheerful. There was a new female who was very cheerful and was thanking the veterans for there service. In ( the main eye clinc) Dr.Dessler was very thorough ask and educating me on the 4 treatments. Both eye clinics were very transparent. And that is something to be stated. I highly recommend the eye clinics here. 11Nov2025 Downgraded to 1 star Review After " Alexis " (Women Clinic) left a voicemail attempting to get me into an appointment. Alexis left me on hold for 10 minutes. Then lied about an open December appointment. Utilizing words like we only have one doctor that can see people "like you". She then stated that they only have openings for late February. I have never asked for services as a female or Transgender. I'm a guy, period. There is no reason for gender stereotyping because I choose to dress or look a certain way. As such the TSP CPT Dr.Jefferies chose to act with violence during one of our sessions. This is very vindictive behavior. Other than the outstanding lab department & Dr.Riz I do not recommend this location for now. ---------------------- 3Jul2025 (5 Five Review) A great man walked these halls. DR.B will be remembered and mark a standard of care that is yet to be seen at this location. No ceremony for a person who did the right thing always. What a joke how you treat a Doctor who served Veterans for 10 + years. Go to the back where the staff & doctors are sleeping sprawled out on all benches ( like hobos) specifically built gazebos for veterans. You should be ashamed of yourselves for taking a space designed for veterans especially ones that are homeless. ----------------------------- Old Review LGBTQ + Communities are out of this world. Had oral surgery at Hines yesterday. While it still hurts some my experience was positive. Dr. Shahbazian is just fantastic. The procedure was painless and went a lot faster then I thought it would. The people working in the Dental clinic really care and treated me wonderfully. Unfortunately, after the procedure I had gauze in my mouth so I couldn't thank them as much as I wanted to.

This facility is just amazing! Truly felt like everyone cared about me, and I can honestly say I trusted everyone in there. Trust is very hard for me, but the adult program and the staff allowed me to be myself with no judgement. I'm trying so hard to follow the rules and not name any staff but will give a broad review. Right when you walk in the staff is friendly, always smiling which in turn made me smile. The supervisor is amazing; the head of the counselors who leads the group therapy is one of the best people I ever met. The staff that lead the groups cared about me, and it was genuine, and they are so smart and fun. From the psychiatrist to my therapist everyone was on the same page. I just want to say thank you to everyone there from the bottom of my heart!

I had a wonderful experience with my program! Everyone was amazing and i truly wouldn’t be in such a good place in my life without the help from this facility! Life feels beautiful again and i couldn’t be more thankful! Brad is a wonderful human and you can really feel how much everyone there cares. BEST EXPERIENCE!!! This center was perfect for me because I am not a very social person and the small group sessions were perfect. Also, the small group allowed for me to learn more and get the most from the program. The instructors are very well versed and knowledgeable about addiction. I looked forward to going every day. Our group became very close knit and we do activities together outside of class. If you do not want to be just a seat filler and actually get something out of your recovery journey, this is the place.

When I first came to Care Addiction Center, I’ll be honest, I arrived pretty much kicking, screaming and non compliant. I was in a very dark place, but what I found was an organization filled with people who truly care from my counslers Alice and Tori, to my fellow Group members . From the moment I walked in, everyone was accepting, kind, and understanding. Even when circumstances were working against me, like my insurance trying to force me to go elsewhere despite the clear progress I was making, the staff never gave up on me. Matt, who is genuinely dedicated to helping people heal, reassured me not to worry and even offered me a scholarship to continue. His only concern was that I continued to get better. The compassion and support I experienced at Care made all the difference, and I am deeply grateful. The care addiction center is a Life changing, Life saving orginization.

I choose to take part of the Symetria program voluntarily and it was one of the best decisions of my life! Not only are the staff like family, so are the individuals that pick Symetria too. Now days, customer service is pathetic and people are rude and most push you out the door, but not here. This place has the warm feeling like "The door is always open", and "how can we help you", We are here for you, it doesn't matter the time or the day, we care about you. You're a shining star and a success, not a failure. This place is secure, confidential, clean and has several options to help you along your journey. You are able to volunteer your time, make new friends and can help save a life, change a life and feel proud of who you are. Brian and John from Naperville are excellent group leaders (you are lucky if you get to meet them), and (Chris from Vernon Hills is a great counselor, who will make the time to ensure your needs are met). Symetria creates an environment where people feel safe, supported, and valued. The morning IOP group supported me through the hardest part of my life and I will forever be grateful for the amazing people I met. I think each one of us in the group looked forward to our time together in that healing place. Our counselor Brian is an expert in his field. He led our group through many difficult topics and conversations and did so with enormous compassion. Individual sessions with Brian were always insightful. Brian has a unique way of making each of his clients feel good about themselves. Being hopeful, heard a lot... From many and within... Physical health etc... the many lies, make so much up. We have a voice! But you can't!! Seen many good people.... The despair, trying to improve... Why??? Just for saying what's going on here, taken advantage of, false promises, came back here in good faith like many.. put forth so much to rebuild etc... new health conditions, put down for a certain one..

I stayed in Crisis Residential for a month (I got an extended week) and I learned so much and had SUCH a great time, I HIGHLY recommend this place if you're in need of a timeout. Lots and lots of groups, very well structured, the rules are really easy to understand and follow, and the staff genuinely cares about how you're feeling during your stay as well. You get to see your psychiatrist once a week to make sure your medication is helping, and the psychiatrists they have on staff are wonderful, as well as your therapist and if you're in the substance abuse program, they're kind too, from what I've heard. Once again, thank you Ecker, for helping me learn to manage my anxiety and various other symptoms. You've done a great job for a lot of people! 10/5 stars!
