I have been going to Oaklawn now for about 7 years, when I first decided to start I was at my lowest of lows, the only time in my life I felt I was going to act on my suicidal thoughts. I had never been as depressed as I was in those few months and I have delt with depression almost my entire life. I really didn’t believe I could be helped, but I tried for my children’s sake as my oldest son had already lost his father to reckless decisions. Brandy saved my life, she has continuously encouraged me and never judged me even when most would have. She has not only been one of the best phycologists I have ever met, she has also been a good friend. She has helped to guide me in the right direction and been there through every up and every down I’ve had over this past 7 years, despite my many screw ups she has never made me feel as though I was just a mess, she really saved my life, I can not stress this enough. If you do the work on yourself and actually use the program and take the advice given, this place can and will help. You also have to be patient and understand you are not the only client being worked with.

As someone who recently was discharged from the hospital, this is by far the best facility I’ve been to. I like the fact that you have to wear scrubs. So you don’t have to worry about having someone drop off clothes. The nurses and tech are super helpful and friendly. Their food is better than most hospital foods. They offer helpful groups which was one thing I liked. Because other facilities the groups are not reliable. These groups are almost DBT related. The doctors listen and won’t discharge you unless the doctor thinks you’re ready.

Bowen staff was professional, I felt safe, the food was good for institution food. Groups were daily, I was always asked to participate never made. Thank you for being part of the team helping with my mental healthcare. Best inpatient care facility around.

SPA Women’s Ministry is truly amazing. A place you feel Gods presence and love!! A place you truly come as you are but will leave changed!! A place you face reality and truth; but with gentleness and compassion! You walk in welcomed and walk out transformed and feeling Jesus’s tangible love for you. I volunteer once a month for a fun night and I truly am blessed beyond measure!! (Probably more than I can give). I go with the intention to give and to encourage and I leave more encouraged!! I'm dealing with an incredibly challenging medical crisis which has impacted my poor son in ways one cannot describe. The level of compassion, care, duty, integrity, and honor they have shown our family during this time of trouble cannot be over expressed. About 5years ago I went here and didn't have the greatest experience..but today I had to visit the Albion office for an appointment for my daughter. And they have come up a long way from my bad experience 5 years ago. The staff was so friendly and helpful even had a couple good laughs. So thank you.

If you're ready for change, this is the place for you. Even though I was court ordered I quickly realized this place has been helpful. In my case I'm learning more than just helpful tips to avoid the charge that brought me here. I wish I would've known about this place years ago. For me C.P.R. has been organized with my paperwork. They have been friendly, and personal, and a lot of the people I've met here I've enjoyed the friendship. I've seen people come here that clearly aren't ready to change, and they don't. They have bad attitudes the whole time, and they're rude to staff. It's sad, but you can't change anyone, you can provide them helpful tools though. The best part of this place? It's open to the public. If I'm still in the area I plan on continuing coming to the classes once my ordered classes are done.

Honestly, half these reviews are exaggerating OR are describing how things use to be yearsss ago at the clinic.. There are cameras, they have been in place for; a year or so maybe-giveORtake; So outside issues have pretty much subsided. Now, the people sitting in their cars while people "hold their spots" IS something a few certain individuals do, but certainly BHG have been and will be addressing those issues as well from their camera footage.!? And last but not least THEIR ARE 4 NURSES NOW 👏 YAAAYY Usually 4windows open! Barely a wait in the last 2 months at least.

Overall, this place really does a lot right. The staff works hard, things run smoothly and you can tell there are people here who genuinely care about what they’re doing. Huge shoutout to Michelle (aka the real MVP / PD) for keeping things together. It does not go unnoticed. That said…the parking lot is currently giving “extreme sports obstacle course.” The potholes are not subtle. You don’t just park here, you navigate it. If you hear a loud thud on your way in, just know it’s not construction, it’s your suspension filing a complaint. Fix the potholes and this place would be pretty close to perfect. Until then, consider it part of the full experience — just drive in like you value your tires.
