Lantana gave me a chance at life again. I’m an alcoholic and an addict. I’ve lived inside places. I’ve been to dozens of treatments. The counselors and staff at Lantana gave me hope and shed a new light on recovery for me. I had reached the end of my rope; I was tired and sick of letting myself and my family down. Lantana showed me that recovery was possible for someone who had become as jaded about 12 step programs as me. I felt comfortable here and I got honest. I mean really honest and I got the help I needed. Thank you Lantana, I recommend this program for anyone who wants access into an all inclusive program that introduces its clientele to all forms of recovery from dharma to ACT, DBT, CBT and AA. Lantana gave me my life back.

This practice and Physician's Assistant Hayes have helped me completely change my life around. I finally received the proper diagnoses, found medicines that have me healthy and stable after trying for years to find the right ones, and also have been given resources and tools for different therapies and non-drug treatments that have been beyond beneficial. The office is so kind and supportive and I would recommend Barrier Islands to anyone looking for an excellent private practice. Tons of compassion, empathy, and genuine care for their patients. Thank you!

I came to this place at my wits end, with very few answers in regards to my addiction. At first reluctant, I slowly began to believe in the power of the 12 steps while staying there. If you are having trouble battling this disease on your own, give these guys a call. Who knows..it might change the trajectory of your life. God bless 💙

Our son JD recently completed the 90 day program and we couldn’t be more grateful to Jett & the wonderfully supportive staff. While the program is very structured and to be taken seriously by all residents, (as it should be), the environment is that of a caring family and brother (and sister) hood. The staff is very responsive to any family inquiries. We know our son is beginning a long road ahead but coming thru the CRC program has given him a solid foundation to begin his new & healthy life. Thank you to everyone at the HOPE.

It is fairly easy to visit or go to appointments here; the employees at the security desk are nice. You get a sticker at the desk before you head upstairs.

Charleston is the 8th most expensive city nationwide for addiction treatment affordability, with an average cost of addiction treatment of $64864. This is higher than the average cost of $57774 for addiction treatment in South Carolina and higher than the national average cost for drug rehab of $57,193.
The costs of drug and alcohol rehab in Charleston vary widely and depend on several factors, including:
The costs of addiction treatment listed for cities and states are averages based on the cost of medical detox, inpatient rehab, outpatient rehab, and medication assisted treatment. These averages are high due to the cost of medical detoxification and residential inpatient rehab programs.
These numbers also reflect the raw cost of drug rehab, before any insurance coverage. The typical individual seeking addiction treatment can expect to pay much less for outpatient or intensive outpatient services than the averages listed below. There are many ways to pay for drug rehab in Charleston. Most rehab treatment centers accept cash or self-payment, as well as private health insurance. However, there are many treatment centers in Charleston that accept Medicaid and Medicare, or offer sliding scale payments or other low-cost payment options. Here's the complete breakdown of how to pay for addiction treatment near Charleston.
Blue Cross Blue Shield is the most widely-accepted insurance for drug rehabs in Charleston, with 10 treatment centers in the city accepting their insurance. UnitedHealth Group is the 2nd most popular with 10 treatment centers accepting it followed by Aetna in 3rd accepted by 9 drug rehabs.
Charleston has the 290th highest rate of drug use nationwide among nearly 400 cities surveyed. This number reflects the combined use of cocaine, heroin, meth, and marijuana, displayed individually below. The percent shown for each drug represents the number of residents in Charleston county that have reported ever using the following drugs, so these numbers should not be interpreted as direct evidence of current drug use in Charleston or Charleston county as a whole.
In 2023, Charleston had the 38th highest number narcotics violations out of 330 cities nationwide, with a total of 1549 reported drug-related incidents that year. This includes cases of public intoxication, drug arrests, narcotics found during house calls and traffic stops, and any other drug-related crime.
Keep in mind these numbers are dependent on accurate record keeping and reporting laws by local police and sheriffs, and may not fully reflect all drug related crime in Charleston. All values are per 100,000 population.
