I don’t think people consider the mental health crisis going on, and that a community office like this is going to have longer wait times. But I’ve been coming here for a few months now with my child. The nurse has been nothing but sweet to us. And takes the time to answer my questions as well as follows up with concerns! The nurse practitioner dose run late sometimes (10-20 mins MAX) and is done through video chat at the office. Which is fine! Video has always been clear and I don’t understand why someone would be upset about him over explaining medications?! It should be that way! And I personally respect that, he does take a while to get into but again. It’s a community office with large case loads! Front desk staff is very friendly! And returns calls promptly! Our therapist is great and really works with our family! And once the ball gets rolling which is going to take time appointments and visits get better. This office looks newly updated and clean from what I’ve seen thus far!

Never been in there more than an hour. If that ! Most appointments are very fast & efficient. The girls at the front desk put up with a lot from rude phone calls to rude (Veterans ) patients. In & out . Great service Everytime I've been there. And I prefer NOT to be thanked for my service ! It was our duty to serve and protect. To the man that had or has prostate Cancer. Parents BEWARE!!!!! I'm giving this 5 stars so others can see this but let me tell you: Our son was constantly discriminated by other patients who were using slurs like the N word, R word, and the F word. Staff sedated our 11 year old and called him crazy when he was sexually harassed by another child on a daily basis. There was no hot water in the shower. He was put in solitary for 3 days bc the room was supposedly under management, yet they allowed his roommate to stay in the room. The state needs to investigate the staff, because the way they complained about their job in front of the kids is horrendous . We will be filing a report. Our child had a head wound that was not taken care of and ended up getting infected. They even denied him going to the bathroom during group, threatened to take off points that count towards release. The social worker had to step in to advocate, but it still continued to happen. He was supposed to be on one on one and they couldn't fulfill that for even a day. He met my wife under sedation with nobody there to supervise him for his safety so he wouldn't fall. He's traumatized after just needing help.

Camp Oakland is a great rehabilitation program for teens. The youth have great structure and routine. The youth see a therapist/psychologist regularly, and have group therapy, they can complete their GED/diploma here. They offer many programs within that can help the teens with life skills, social skills, education, career based learning for their futures and much more. Camp Oakland has evolved and has such a great set of staff who really care for the teens and change their lives for the better! I have seen a few other reviews regarding the food here, the food here is nearly the same as public school food. Regarding any abuse/neglect comment under this program, I can 100% guarantee that does not happen here, they truly care to help your struggling teen and resolve home life issues with family.

The mind is subjective and so is therapy, i believe if you have a bad experience you simply try somewhere else which may practice a different field of psychology that could help more. Therapist are a guide like a GPS, but I feel like too many people expect them to take the wheel and just fix their problems for them. I had a great experience and have been able to get myself not only in college but running again and I would feel comfortable going back if need be. Therapist were great and that’s all that matters to me!

I got so much love for this place. From my initial late night phone call with RN Jeanne who reassured me that I was correct in refusing to get stuck on suboxone for 7oh dependence to meeting with Laura and then all the great nursing/patient care staff (especially Pat, with RT) as well as Dr. Aharonov, this place is the real deal. I don’t think I would have been able to get off 7oh any other way. The morning after the procedure was no walk in the park (fatigue, diarrhea, nausea, insomnia); but not having to suffer thru the intense body aches and pains as well as other opiate withdrawal symptoms for 4-7 days at home was well worth the price of admission. If you can handle a bad hangover for a day plus a couple more days of diarrhea, you can handle this. They also give you meds to help ease whatever symptoms you have after. I can’t tell you how many times I had tried quitting at home unsuccessfully (even with comfort meds like gabapentin and clonidine); I knew I had to go somewhere where I could just “rip off the bandaid” and be done with the nightmare I was stuck in and flying to Michigan was one of the best decisions I’ve made in a long time. I’m going on nearly a month now since I was there and you couldn’t pay me enough to ever touch 7oh again. I’m forever grateful for this place and the amazing staff that works there.

It’s my second day home after the procedure starting on Monday and leaving Thursday. I haven’t had nausea, sweated or had diarrhea once since the procedure starrted and up until now. I’m moving around perfectly fine. The only problem I have is the restless legs which they give you meds for when you leave. I was coming off 24 mg suboxone I’ve been stuck on. If your want to be clean and actually get that dopamine feeling just listening to music get to this place as fast as possible. Don’t end up dead like the thousands we’ve seen already

Just checking in on you guys. Thank You for all your help and the tools to stay clean. I left about four years ago and was at 120 . After about 45 days of going thru withdrawals I finally gave in to Suboxone. My next step is the shot. Hi Bill and glad to see you're still here. TY for always being cool and I'll never forget you. I think I was 518 and can only imagine what number you're on today!! Addicts do recover when they choose to!!!! Ty QBH for the tools to stay clean by making me go to group and therapy 🙌. Which made me start going to NA meetings. I believe in early recovery you gotta do 90/90. 90 meetings in 90 days to start change 😉😎. Remember to give yourself a break and get into NA to start working the steps of NA. The books how and why were my best tools. You must have a sponsor to work the steps. You can't do the steps alone because how do you know if you're doing them right 👍 and you'll have a friend forever.

I had an excellent experience with Milford Counseling Center and highly recommend them, especially for anyone going through the driver’s license restoration process. Their substance use evaluation services were professional, thorough, and handled with genuine care and respect. Dave was outstanding to work with — knowledgeable, understanding, and easy to talk to throughout the entire process. He made what could have been a stressful experience feel comfortable and straightforward. Ally in the office was also the utmost outstanding. She was friendly, organized, responsive, and incredibly helpful with scheduling and answering questions. The entire staff treated me with professionalism and compassion from start to finish. If you need a substance use evaluation for license restoration in Michigan, this is definitely a place you can trust - not to mention their rate is substantially lower than other providers listed in the state’s directory. YOU ARE NOT ALONE!! GET THE HELP ITS WORTH IT!!!❤️❤️❤️ I truly can’t say enough about how much the New Oakland Clarkston location changed my life. I came in during a crisis, and I left feeling stable, hopeful, and genuinely happy. From the moment you walk through the doors, you’re greeted with open arms—there’s no judgment, just compassion, warmth, and professionalism. I was part of the face-to-face program at 28 years old, and everything exceeded my expectations. The group therapy sessions were incredibly powerful and gave me tools I didn’t even realize I was missing. My group leader, Kailee, was with me for the majority of the program and is genuinely one of the most bubbly, kindhearted, and knowledgeable souls I’ve ever met. She created a space that was safe, supportive, and uplifting every single day. Niki, my therapist, is truly amazing—so insightful, attentive, and caring. Dominique, the nurse, is an absolute gem—compassionate, patient, and always there when you need her. And Matt, the psychologist, didn’t waste any time helping me find the right medication and support. He took my concerns seriously and acted quickly, which made a world of difference. The staff here truly care. It doesn’t feel like “treatment”—it feels like a community of people who love what they do and want to help you grow and heal. The food was great every day, the atmosphere was calming and structured, and they even gave us breaks for fresh air, which made a huge difference for my mental health. This place gave me a full toolbox to take with me, and for the first time in a long time, I feel ready. But here’s the truth: you get out what you put in. If you show up, participate, and commit to the process, you will see change. This team will support you every step of the way, but you have to meet them there. What sets New Oakland apart is that their care doesn’t stop when you walk out the door. They set you up with a real plan for continued support—and they actually follow through. I will forever be grateful for the experience I had here. This team helped me find myself again. Thank you, New Oakland Clarkston. You saved me.

I absolutely love this place and now that I'm gone I even miss them. The majority of the employees there care about the residents. It's clean, they make sure your withdrawals are not too bad. When u 1st arrived you will be in detox 3 days or so then go over to the residents side for 29 days. The rooms have 2 to 3 people in it with its own shower/bath. Breakfast is 7, lunch 11, dinner 4 and a snack at 8. If you're too sick to go to the dining area they will bring it to your room. Mondays and Tuesday are your long days you're in meetings from 9am to 10pm. Group meetings are mandatory every day 9-11. Church is on Sunday and Bible Study on Wednesday. They will help u get on your feet so u can survive when u get out. Oh and the men monitors are cute too, i know one resident who has started messing around with one recently. But the majority of them are not like that. It's a spiritually grounded place where God is first. Oh and you get to keep your phone and smoke whenever you want to. Let's see what else , Oh the food is good now it wasn't when I 1st got there but we complained about it at our weekly meeting and it has improved, a lot! As far as I'm concerned it's one of the best around, but I've only been to one other Christian guidance center, i caught COVID there. I was only there for 2 weeks but they never took my vitals when I was there. And Harbor Light checks them every 4 hours when you're in detox. And once you have completed everything you will get a certificate and a coin. Oh and u have to drop weekly, Oh and they also have a medical mobile unit that comes every Thursday iu need blood work or whatever done. Teally cool joint that I highly recommend

Back in 2011 this place changed my life. Actually learned a lot of important stuff. Detox and stayed there for 3 months. If I'm not mistaken it's a free program. If I'm wrong then it was definitely a low amount. Especially when comparing other places.

First clinic I'm actually happy to start. Everyone was so nice on my intake day. I love the doctor I seen (I don't remember his name, but he was really tall and he had brown hair and only comes in on Mondays) The lady at the front desk was so welcomed and nice I think her name is lila and Melissa is incredibly funny and helpful. My overall experience was just great. They explained everything perfectly and was more than welcoming. It feels like a breath of fresh air coming from what I came from previously.
