I only stayed 3 days due to the fact that I need weeks to come off my Suboxone that I have been on for near 6 years now and to get off of kratom and 7oh (kratom is NOT the same as 7oh just so u know,... 7oh is extracted from kratom and synthesized to make 7oh so it's extremely potent) I wanted to walk out of that place completely off everything but the intake Nurse/P.A. and I argued over my impulsiveness for stopping my Suboxone yet once she explained the weendown process I accepted it, it's not possible how I wanted to do it and she reminded me to slow down and realize my impulsiveness..3 months minimum of slowly lowering my dose to getting shots and then after about 3months I could be free, so i decided to stay to get thru my withdrawals from kratom and 7oh (withdrawals very intense yet short lived) the detox psychologist, I believe his name was Ray, made me realize so much about myself in our 2 short encounters that changed my thoughts and thinking as well as my understanding of myself drastically for the better. He's an ol'school cat, war vet, grandfather and his general aura and vibe was genuine and real. And the fact that he was so natural was a relief. All the detox nurses were great...except 1. She had shoulder length blonde hair and treated us like inmates rather than people who self-committed themselves to their facility. I won't go to deep cuz it isn't that deep but nurses like her and her judgement and condescending tone when speaking AT u not WITH u will be the cause of ppl leaving AMA. We enter a program vulnerable and she make u feel like dog shit on the bottom of her shoe SMH yet there was a male nurse with glasses and shoulder length light hair (not really blonde tho) and I believe he wore glasses, was so AMAZING. He introduced himself, came out to our smoking area and conversated with us (briefly) as the people we are. He showed kindness and care where that 1 woman nurse neglected to treat us as and for that I appreciate you even tho I don't remember his name. I've been home just over a week now and have not run back to my kratom/7oh addiction...my appointment is coming up in October to start my process of getting off my Suboxone properly. Now as for the intake process, yes it's a lil cold and rough, you have got to understand they are the 1st contact point for those coming into treatment. They see EVERYTHING, Who goes to detox sober/straight...I have yet to see that in my on and off recovery from 2000-2026, so they are getting the absolute worst of our selves when arriving. They must be stern and thorough in the start. Like no nonsense. I wasn't greeted with smiles and faith and I didn't arrive with smiles and faith such as that so I'm not mad and nobody attitude could stop me from wanting it... Take what applies to you and ur life and forget the rest. I would recommend this place to others. ( If u are going in prepare urself, read their list of approved items, and/or call the office and ask if you're curious if you can bring something that isn't on that list and what kind of packaging or even ingredients are restricted). And say this because I didn't get my deodorant and the only makeup I got that I brought was my liquid foundation but who tf am I truly trying to impress with my looks while detoxing LOL no biggie. It was battle that I chose not to fight...my zest bar soap worked just fine and deodorant. I can think back to when I first walked into the building to receive my intake evaluation, I was visibly upset. My father came with me to offer support. I would be enrolling into their opiate treatment program, I had been struggling with this disease for the last ten years starting when I was 18. Kristy one of the office administrator's, was the person who gave me my intake evaluation. I was treated with complete respect during the entire process, I can remember how patient she was with my father who was truly more upset then I was... Because the years of stress my disease has caused on my entire family. I was then assigned to my counselor, Jim. I wouldn't be doing him justice by trying to explain in a few simple sentences how he has impacted my sobriety this last year. I went from actively using while be enrolled into the program to a person who now today, attends AA, NA meetings regularly. I have service work commitments in the community, I volunteer and maple grove, and other facilities trying to reach out to other struggling addicts. And Jim was instrumental in helping shape this change in my life and I truly Can't express that enough. I did a lot of heavy lifting to help my own self but Jim was there as my spotter and I am happy that I was able to gain the relationship that I have with Jim and many others at RCI. I also attending group, peer counseling with both Dave and lonie. Again both of these people are involved in this field of work to help others and bring about a positive change, which was accomplished in me. I must mention two other names, Po and John, Po also works at the front desk and it was just always nice to walk into the building and be greeted with a smile and a sincere welcome ! John is another counselor who I didn't work with to many times, although I did attend a few groups that he ran and again I thought he insight was awesome and inspiring. So if you are in my same shoes and about to begin this process just trust in God and let the program guide you toward success. God can move mountains but you need to bring a shovel. Joey D 10 years ago Excellent outpatient treatment Center. The ladies at the front desk are extremely helpful. There's a treatment team of Therapist at RCI Whom have been assisting me with change. I struggling with addiction issues and was able to identify areas where my thinking needed to change. I found the group therapy session very educational and informational. The treatment team help me with growth and to become accountable and responsible for my choices . My therapists even talk to my probation officer and kept me out of jail. I highly recommend RCI for your outpatient needs. I have stop smoking marijuana and taking Xanax for over a year thanks to the assistance of RCI. I have moved out of my mommy's house and now live independently as a man and I contribute that to RCI. RCI even made recommendations so that I can get my medical and psychiatric needs Met. It's clean, classes are phenomenal, nurses, doctors, therapists, milieu techs, med techs, environmental services, everyone is great. Aftercare here is also wonderful. Update: they are wonderful until you need them again. I called yesterday, they were suppose to call back. I haven't been there for 3yrs. I needed help. Today no response. Tried calling back, no response. I had been seeing a therapist after she quit there. She only had terrible things to say about the place that they weren't up to updated treatments. My own experience at Easterseals has only been since early June 2025, but I must express that they do have some wonderful staff here and they've been mostly pleasant and quite helpful in addressing my needs and concerns. My caseworker's been very positive and actually quite responsive when it comes to communication, which truly makes all the difference for me, personally. I feel she genuinely cares. My psychiatrist and therapist also have been great in similar ways. I can't say enough good things about these amazing women! Sure, front end staff seem off or a bit grumpy or just burned out sometimes, but, honestly I can't blame them - I wouldn't be able to deal with the job well myself! It'd annoy the hell out of me dealing with so many people all day. We all get tired of work at times, we're all only human ya know. (I only mentioned this because of the negatory comments I read regarding the initial staff). Lastly, their transportation guys are also awesome! I think what it all comes down to is your own personal attitude, tolerance, and the ability to have compassion and understanding from other perspectives in these type of places when it comes to staff interactions and services in general. I use the Genoa pharmacy there as well, and they've always been great. You get what you give in life or what you put into things folks. It's also good to remember we can't truly control anything outside of ourselves, only what's within us. But, I digress - to each their own. Colleen has done a wonderful job helping us communicate even if it’s uncomfortable for both of us. She helped save my beautiful daughter from going into a very dark place. I see some do not share the same experiences we have with Easterseals, but I’ve been in and out with my girls over the years, and between the staff, docs, and therapists, they have all done an amazing job, considering what they too, have to deal with day in and day out. At times my girls had to change therapists in the middle of treatment, but they did an alright job matching them with someone similar. And if they are ready and willing to change, and it’s explained that stuff like this happens, we got through it. It’s hard to keep constant staff on hand all the time, so I understood. At Trinity they treat you like a human being who is struggling, whereas, at Henry Ford they treat you from the very beginning of your admission like a criminal. Trinity Hospital in-patient psychiatric unit treats you with respect and dignity. Are there a few staff that aren't quite as good as others? Of course, but, overall Trinity tries to give it's patients an experience that will improve their mental health instead of further destroying someone's mental health like they do at places like Henry Ford. If I ever suffer any kind of emotional health crisis again I will be going to Trinity. My only gripes are they need more cards of different types for patients to play (Regular cards, Uno, Skip-Bo, etc.), bigger tables outside of the dining area so puzzles can be put together, more books of different kinds in their library, and I feel as if they try to shove you out the door too fast. At no point were they even close to capacity when I was there so I think they should slow it down for when there is not a lot of people. I also think there should be a separate ward for the more angry, aggressive patients. The people who run the groups are good, too, and deserve praise. I just hope whomever is in charge makes sure to keep an eye on the attitudes of the staff so there is no decline in how patients are treated. It takes an entire team to make sure patients are treated fairly and humanely but it only takes a few bad staff to ruin that. Elias Holmes 3 months ago First, I want to acknowledge how difficult it can be to admit that you might need psychiatric intervention. If you're reading this review, you might be considering intervention for yourself or a loved one. You might be crying, hurting, screaming into the void; it's terrifying to look at where one might go to be cared for at a time that feels overwhelming, isolating, and dark. You're giving up autonomy to strangers who claim they will help you in a time of need -- this is a major decision. No one wants to check into the ER for a troubled mind. No one wants to reduce their humanity in a highly controlled environment just to keep themselves safe. No one wants to lose access to their phone, their family and friends, the things that make them feel connected to the world at large. And really, no one wants to eat hospital food three times a day. But if you're reading this review it's because there may be no other option but to do these things as you white-knuckle your way through a personal hell on Earth. I myself hit a breaking point recently and did not know where to go; I had been white-knuckling my own inner hell on Earth for weeks and finally imploded, then exploded. After two previous outpatient stays at other facilities across Michigan, multiple psychiatrists and psychologists and therapists, I committed to checking myself into Trinity just to try. Just to see. Just to find the light, if there could be some. And I did find some: The staff here is incredibly kind, helpful, and they never appear inconvenienced. I was given access to multiple different medical specialists and doctors who could discuss the nuanced angles of my struggles. The social workers listened with care. The nurses were good-humored and patient. The recreational therapists were joyful, always smiling. And the food, it turns out, was not all that bad (just make sure you get double portions of everything). I read books and looked out the window, and spoke with others who understood how I was feeling. I was able to rest. I was able to cry. I was able to feel my inner world fully and without judgement. I was anxious to leave when I regained my strength, as anyone would feel, and I felt I needed to leave a review as there were only a few by the time I Googled this facility; as I'm sure you're aware, mental health service providers suffer reviews that can be hard to trust or are designed to scare you based on a unique experience. All I can say is that I put my trust in Trinity and I left with my dignity intact. That is more than what can be said about a lot of places. I leave this review in the hopes that if you or a loved one needs intensive care, please call and give this place a try. The light is here if you need it. I was put on the right medication but gained a few pounds. I went through the program being on three different crews. The work therapy program is top notch. In August of 2022 I decided to go off my medication completely. I lost weight but was very manic and went to the Hurley hospital psych ward then back to Rose Hill for a 'tune up'. The Rose Hill psychiatrist got me back on medication and I'm very successful today in the community. I currently have one job that I've held for almost ten years at Genesys Health Club. The program carries on after leaving campus. I'm in the Community Support Program (csp) with some appointments at Rose Hill Center. I highly recommend Rose Hill Center. Most importantly they work as a team. I got support not just with my mental health but they provided an autism specialist who greatly improved my quality of my life. I owe Rose Hill so much to my life also the offer DBT therapy which challenged me to improve myself and receive support to reach my goals. My DBT coach Laura gave me hope to a broggter future and helped me with dealing with extreme anxiety. I totally recommend Rose Hill for mental health and people who are on the autism spectrum. Unlike the typical, more “hospital like” residential, Rose Hill encourages independence and helping you build skills to use in the real world. My time at Rose Hill, as a resident, has changed my life. I would say the biggest pros are: You get to keep your phone, they don’t stop you from vaping/smoking nicotine, you can have your car there under certain circumstances, you can go out on “day passes” into the community, there are many outings on a weekly basis, you get to go grocery shopping on a weekly basis as well, and you get your own, decently spacious room. Rose Hill has competent and caring social workers/case managers, therapists and floor staff. People you can tell that truly care. I’d suggest Rose Hill if you want to change your life.
