The books how and why were my best tools. You must have a sponsor to work the steps. You can't do the steps alone because how do you know if you're doing them right 👍 and you'll have a friend forever. Going to Charak was the worst experience I have ever had (except for: Dr. Kimberly hart, Maria Newborn-walls, Dr. Michelle, and other select few). There is nothing that you can do that will fix this unless you're going to get rid of RanJan/reimburse me for the way he treated me while I was there. He forced people to come back or they won'tget their prescriptions, to go into group therapy or they will be hospitalized. I would never ever recommend anyone to go there. They were always late for set appointments, too. Ms. Newborn is no longer working here, so now I have to find somewhere else to go. The staff are all lovely, excluding Ranjan, the owner. Many of the complaints are by people who dislike structure and rules... as is the mind set of many suffering from addiction. Nowhere did I see a sign saying Hilton Regency. Its not a resort its a treatment facility. I destroyed my life with Alcahol and lost everything... New Destiny restored my hope. I was dead inside and not far from it physically. The counseling and therapy helped me tremendously... but mostly it was the staff. The sincerity and dedication to your wellness is felt from the moment you arrive. I was treated by everyone there like I mattered. Today I am clean and sober My family has been restored My soul was saved Today I have hope and an honest desire to be a better man every day. But I can say with total confidence that Easterseals has done an amazing job helping my daughters and myself cope and adapt in a healthy way to live successfully in todays world. I can’t imagine being a teenager now a days, and as a parent, I would do anything to help my girls get through these tough years. Colleen has done a wonderful job helping us communicate even if it’s uncomfortable for both of us. She helped save my beautiful daughter from going into a very dark place. I see some do not share the same experiences we have with Easterseals, but I’ve been in and out with my girls over the years, and between the staff, docs, and therapists, they have all done an amazing job, considering what they too, have to deal with day in and day out. At times my girls had to change therapists in the middle of treatment, but they did an alright job matching them with someone similar. And if they are ready and willing to change, and it’s explained that stuff like this happens, we got through it. It’s hard to keep constant staff on hand all the time, so I understood. I have never had any issues with any of the staff, doctors, or therapists. We’re always treated well. If you’re looking for pediatric/ adolescent care I highly recommend Dr. Greer. Biomed is one of the best clinics in the Metro Detroit area. They always welcome everyone and will not judge you at your current status in life. The staff is very polite and courteous, and biomed offers a safe enviorment during your recovery. Biomed offers various didatics, group therapy, and counseling. I've been clean for 15 years. Unfortunately they no longer except private insurance. They do except Medicaid. Its $80 or $100 a week cash. There is also a block grant you ask abou through access, and Biomed. You are requires to see your counselor once a month, either in-person or through a phone session. Groups and didactics can be done either in-person or through a zoom meeting. Biomed is open from 5 am to 1 pm. Biomed offers takehomes to patients who follow the rules. If your interested in becoming a patient, please call and set up an intake. The process only takes around 1 to 3 hours to complete. After you finish the intake process you get your first dose that day. I would ride them around on the property to and from the Scripps Mansion and to the circle drive near the men’s treatment center. I tried riding to and from the gym/ physical therapy building where the business offices and printing press for the magazine journal. It was too hard going up hill but a breeze coming back down to the bridge . Then I had to get off and push it up to the treatment center for women. I really enjoyed my time at this place. However all good times have to end and mine ended . Avery Earehart 1 year ago I've read past reviews and it's disheartening to hear given my time while short was beneficial. Yes the men's bathroom was atrocious but I dare you to make me one rehab facility that accepts medicaid insurance where the men's bathroom doesn't look bad. Sacred Heart for example is supposed to be the top tier for bottom insurance and the men there never flush leave their stuff all over it's like that especially in detox grown men don't know how to use proper hygene. But the staff went I was there a couple months ago were amazing friendly and funny especially Diamond she had me laughing a lot. The food is pretty good so I don't know what the one guy was complaining about mold. I've been to some of the best and worst rehabs and I can tell you it's what you put into it. If you are trouble you are gonna attract trouble or if you think you can just come in and coast and not participate then you won't get anything out of it. I had a bad relapse recently and unfortunately have to go back but I'm glad I'm going back to a place that has love and cares. Only negative thing I can say is what most would consider great is that they allow you to bring your personal cellphones in. Its great to listen to music and text family to passed the time but there is too much temptation to call or text the wrong people who could convince you to reconsider wanting to stay. The detox nurses deal with a lot and do it with kindness, compassion, and composure. I am incredibly grateful for the rest they provided me that I was in desperate need of. I learned a lot and most of the recovery coaches do care and want the best for the clients. There is a few things they need do need to work on and hope they do in the future- which was allowing some clients to continuesly break the rules and not sticking to their punishments.
