It's Lovelock's only redeeming quality whatsoever , you can live there for 3 years and barely make it out of there alive with this place being the only positive memory you have to take with you and remember forever . I learned a lot of skills for my mental health here. I had a pretty good experience with the group setting and I really loved Evelyn one of the Psychiatrists. She was amazing. I really want to have her as my Individual Therapist because of how well she handles people and also challenges them. Iv'e been confused with a thought for years and on the second day I remember her blowing my mind by asking me a question that made perfect sense. I just don't understand how she can listen so well but also understand everything your saying and I can tell she really cares. :)

They're so eager to talk about drugs. Not so eager to talk about co-occurring disorders like major depressive disorder or PTSD. They're so eager to talk about drugs that they'll schedule you with a drug counselor without even informing you that drug counseling here is optional and voluntary. They just take down your information then say we've assigned you to so and so. That doesn't make me feel like it's voluntary. Another issue. When I see my doctors at Adventist health they are willing to do some things by phone. This place does not proactively offer phone-based counseling or any kind of telemedicine services and if you ask them at the desk they say well you'll probably want to talk with that when you see your therapist. This place is not very client-focused, and they do have an old school and somewhat inflexible modality of providing services. I'm hoping somebody within this organization will read these reviews and think about modernizing how they provide treatment. Many people struggle financially and it is a significant burden when you ask somebody to come in several times a month when there are other options available that maybe just as effective without the cost of transportation or the inconvenience of having to take public transportation. Lastly, it should never take 2 months from the point of intake before somebody talks to a psychiatrist or somebody qualified to prescribe medicine. I had to go to Adventist and seek medication services through there behavioral health department because Tuolumne County behavioral health could not offer medicine services without a 2-month wait even after I told them I had a pre-existing diagnosis and SSI check and an urgent need to have medication services. That's another strike against them. Why do they insist on providing drug treatment counseling within a week but if somebody needs SSRI medicine or other types of prescription they have to wait and wait and wait and that is not in the best interest of the clients that they serve. Really really bad treatment model here in so many ways. I hope they improve.
