I can not say enough good things about green mountain treatment center. From 12 step coordinators to kitchen staff, everyone was extremely nice. The actual facility itself gives you an amazing look at the mountains in New Hampshire and provides a lot of activities to do outside of programming. I would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking to get sober. 10/10

I think I pissed off everyone that works here, but that's my stuff. Some of the best people I'll ever meet, even if just briefly like the speakers, I met this summer at the Plymouth House. Thank you specifically to David, to Adam, to Joe, to Hillary, to Carolee, to Tallya x a million, to the techs(Finn, Matt, Chelsea, Sam, Devin .. you really made me feel like it was okay when I was wigging out). And thank you to the monitors. There is always more work to be done, but I am sober. I make my bed everyday. I am grateful. ETA - thank you so much to the chefs, you pour your heart out and it shows. The boy from Alabama (Nate, I think?).. You are very talented, the boy that rocks the Atlanta gear, I was so impressed that you made donuts from scratch... But the female chef... Girl your knife skills and efforts are seen. It's a lot of work what yall are doing every day and I see you.

This place quite literally saved my life. I struggled for many years with substance abuse. I tried for several years to get clean on my own but was never successful. I have nothing but great things to say about the Plymouth House if you are serious about wanting to heal yourself. Detox and Rehab are never an easy decision. You know that you want to better yourself but the process is never an easy one. The staff and clinicians at PH are very understanding non judgemental. Some have been in the trenches at times which makes the care and help they offer much easier. The food is great and they are truly genuine across the board not to mention you couldn't ask for a more tranquil environment to heal yourself. No better place to assist you on your journey to recovery

I attended NFA 5 years ago. It was my first time getting sober at 22 years old. NFA is where I started my journey. Although I cant speak to how the facility is now, I can speak to what it once way. My case manager Andy was very helpful and he heard me out. The facility itself was very basic, lots of meetings, enough free time for smoke breaks and basketball. The food was pretty good from what I remember. I will say there was a lot of medication, (sometimes meds that I feel like we didn't need but was given anyways). I was in inpatient for 2 weeks and the last two weeks was a house off property where we got phone access and got to make our own meals, which was a great transition. Overall, I would say that my experience was pretty good. I am still sober today...5 years later. I think that to be successful in staying sober you need aftercare, no one stays sober after 30-45 days of inpatient. A sober house afterwards is a necessity. Hope this helps!

I am eternally grateful for Canterbury behavioral health, especially for Jenn Rocha. When I admitted, I was at the lowest point in my life, hopeless, scared, and vulnerable, I had nothing left to give and no hope for the future. Jenn Rocha literally saved my life. If it hadn't been for her holding hope for me when I had none, supporting me, encouraging me, coaching, advocating, cheering me on and pushing me in the ways I needed to be pushed, with love support and encouragement, I would not have stayed and gotten the help I so desperately needed. Everything that could go wrong did, and her support and guidance helped me find a glimmer of hope again. She loved me unconditionally at my lowest, without judgement, when I needed it the most. Her genuine desire to help, and her authenticity gave me the most beautiful gift of learning to trust again. She will be forever in my heart for everything she did for me, and there are no words that are powerful enough to express my gratitude for her and everything she did for me. Yes, the program works if you work it, but it works even better with the compassion of the staff that work at Canterbury. It is truly a blessing to finally have a residential program for mental health in NH. From the top down, the staff genuinely care and want to help, and it is an amazing program. I hope to never need it again, however if I ever do, this is where I will go.

Valley Vista in Bradford, VT is a beautiful place. I attended I'd say 8 years ago but I was not mature enough to appreciate it then. I appreciate it now. It is a clean, safe facility with helpful and kind staff. When I was there they treated dual diagnosis, which I believe is a must to truly comprehend the main cause of addiction. Vermont's beautiful scenery helps as well. I remember they had great food as well, plenty of whole foods and cakes if you like processed sweets. I believe Vermont is best for farm fresh overall. I have since grew stronger in my faith and I give glory to God for putting me in recovery, but I admire the peer specialists and professional workers of Valley Vista. It is a great place for the underprivileged to afford. Thank you!

Don't think for ONE SECOND that you're going to help the day you call, you won't. Getting into a state sanctioned program takes time and there are hoops to go through, for a reason. They give you an appointment to come back and they make sure that you have NO open scripts for opiates, paperwork, paperwork, see a doctor, see a nurse, see a counselor, and this is all at 6am. You may be going through withdrawals by the time you dose, around 1pm. YOU WILL NOT GET HELP THE DAY YOU CALL!!!!! Don't think you will. If you need help NOW, go to the hospital or try Kratom. Cap is awesome but you have to put your recovery ahead of the people and the counselors. Not gonna sugar coat this subject at all.

When I walked through the doors at Crossroads for residential treatment, I was dying—inside and out. Addiction and an eating disorder had taken everything from me. I was exhausted, hopeless, and scared. I didn’t know who I was anymore, and I didn’t believe I could be saved. But slowly, with the unwavering support of the clinicians, psychiatrist, nurse, dietitian, and every member of the staff, something inside me began to shift. For the first time in a long time, I felt seen. I felt cared for. And I started to believe that healing was actually possible. Residential treatment gave me what I needed most: safety, stability, and space to breathe. I was taught the foundations of DBT and CBT, and I was given healthy, practical coping skills—tools that I still carry with me every day. My 1:1 sessions with my clinician and dietitian helped me uncover pieces of myself I’d buried for years. I was met with kindness, not judgment. Compassion, not shame. And that changed everything. When I moved into PHP, I continued learning how to live again. I started facing my trauma head-on and finally began to understand just how deeply it had shaped my relationship with substances, food, and myself. That insight was painful—but it was also freeing. IOP supported me as I began stepping back into the world. It was scary, but I wasn’t alone. Crossroads gave me a soft place to land while I figured out how to walk through life on new, steadier legs. Even now, I continue to meet with my clinician weekly, still learning, still growing. The truth is, Crossroads gave me more than treatment—they gave me my life back. In the year since I arrived, I’ve changed in ways I never thought were possible. I’ve discovered who I am beyond my pain. I’ve built a new identity, one that’s no longer defined by alcoholism and anorexia. For the first time in my life, I feel safe in my body and in the world. I am endlessly grateful. Crossroads didn’t just help me recover—they helped me come home to myself. And I truly mean it when I say: this program saved my life.

I’ve been coming to groups for. A few years. They have changed a lot to keep up with the times. They were one of the first in the area. It use to be a lot different years ago. You wanted to get sober it may have taken weeks to get in for your initial appointment Nowadays with everything on the app/online it’s a blessing as you can be using today and be sober tomorrow. You have to do your part. I’m grateful for the program. They will work with you and your schedual. My only gripe is they don’t offer a long term option for people who are stuck on suboxone for pain management. And that the turn over rate for counselors is super high. They will work with you and do anything they can to help you as long as you’re doing your part and even help you with anything else you may need housing finding a dr, anything you just got to ask. - E . Entering my second month of this journey, I'm already experiencing a remarkable transformation. My previous performance was, to put it mildly, subpar. I felt immense pressure, a constant burden weighing me down. I firmly believe that without the support and encouragement I've received here at Milestone, I wouldn't have come this far. Witnessing the incredible Thanksgiving dinner prepared by some of our fellow participants serves as a powerful reminder that anything is possible. If they can achieve such a feat, so can you. Update: Month 4, learning so much more, how to live again. Life is good, my best day back then isn't even close to my worst day today! Update April 13th, 2025 Reaching six months at Milestone Foundation feels like an extraordinary milestone. This journey has taken me from a place of isolation to a vibrant community of other men. Here, I've rediscovered the power of connection and learned vital tools for sober living and personal development. Leading creative energy initiatives, sharing the meditative aspects of art, and engaging in insightful groups like "Coffee Talk" have enriched my experience. The support and guidance, particularly from my counselor Melissa, have been invaluable. I am profoundly grateful for this opportunity to rebuild my life in such a nurturing environment.
