The entire program gave me a new start on life, and I haven't looked back. Well, I have only to reminisce on the fond memories I have from this place. The staff was compassionate yet they also were very professional. The nurses went above and beyond for me. The whole medical team at commonwealth is superior. Commonwealth gives you a multi layered experience they care for you physically, mentally and emotionally. I was not really easiest patient to care for and I still recieved excellent care. I really was not well the staff and the nurses took good care of me and they all went above and beyond the call of duty to give me the care I needed. Once I felt better I began to attend there education groups, which were very helpful and I did learn a lot. I would recommend this rehab to anyone struggling with addiction and wants to be free from this horrible disease. I rate this 10 out of 5. Excellent staff from the cleaning crew the kitchen (chef, the aunties) to the CA to the counselors and of course the nursing and medical staff!!! All the employees truly went above and beyond for me during my time of healing. I started as a client and now I am working for Helio. Outpatient, residential, recovery center and inpatient/detox. All amazing programs that a lot of people put their heart and soul into. Some people like to complain about anything because nothing will ever, please them. I have lived on the streets and if someone comes into this facility and states that the streets are better. Then they clearly have never been on the streets. It's all about perspective. If you're ready and willing to make your life better regardless of what you have to do and how it will make you, "feel". If we made people completely comfortable, with all this and that, then no one would leave. I have seen that with different facilities that have all this food and that but then they don't have the proper treatment or groups. But they feed you well. Pick your poison. Some kids act like spoiled brats and nothing is ever enough. Maybe you should change your perspective, it's amazing what is possible by thinking positive regardless of the situation. It's easy to come on here and judge when you don't see it through. Suffering is real. You can choose to let a little rain ruin your day or you can choose to make a rainbow. The choice is yours. However, Going in for walk-in intake was a DREAM. I thought the process was going to be a huge hassle, but it was super straightforward. The staff present on the day I went in were so incredibly patient. One receptionist even went out of her way to catch a coworker to let them know someone could be taken care of THAT DAY instead of a week or so from then. There was staff present that helped those who needed it when it came to filling out paperwork, walking them through the whole process. Someone also had come out to the waiting room (who I assume was a higher up?) to address a rather cantankerous older gentleman. Not only did he get the problem resolved for this man, he also in real time changed this older gent's demeanor from angry yelling to apologetic and calm in a matter of minutes. Extremely professional and attentive. If you need somewhere to go, whether you're someone with a lot of questions, someone who needs to be guided through the process, someone who knows what they want, or someone with not a lot of options, I HIGHLY suggest Liberty Resources. This building is also accessible along the James St bus route. If that wasn't enough, the place was clean and despite a longer, narrower hallways, still was pleasing to the eye aesthetically. It’s a safe environment to get back on your feet. If you go into the program willing to do the work and not expect the counselors to hold your hands and do everything for you. And not use it as a B&B and sleep all day ( only adding that as it can be somewhat annoying seeing other clients sleep all day). It gives you the freedom to come and go and also to be responsible for your own progress. The staff is there 24/7 and will listen to your issues and do everything Liberty will let them do, which ties their hands a lot with what they consider “protocol”. The only downfall is a staff member going out of his way to find every infraction he can to get a few guys kicked out (rules that 99% of the staff bend to make stay there more bearable). Mainly because he has no actual job there and spends his days lurking around being miserable. The facility is cleaned by the clients, shopping is done by the clients and food stamps are all collected and used as a community pot for the groceries. As a current resident I can honestly say that this place is great for anyone who's serious about their recovery. The staff is amazing, you can tell that they're not just here for a paycheck, and they genuinely try to make things as comfortable as possible. I spent the holidays here and they really made it easier to be here during that time. Jessica is phenomenal and she is super invested in the place as well each individual's treatment. As far as the usual questions and concerns: you get your own room, cable TV in each room, Wi-Fi available and you are allowed your phone and/or tablet, 3 meals a day (you have to give your food stamps while here but it's WELL worth it) and the cook (Nicossi) is not only great with the food but also a good staff member to have on hand, 2 washers & dryers on site, no smoking but what do you expect from a treatment facility? (Patches are available), on site medical staff, transportation is available for medical appointments as well as to cash any checks however you can't leave for any other reason (again that's expected), there are currently two 45 minute groups a day as well as a quick morning "check in", if you're in an MAT program you're transported to Helio's OTP clinic twice a week to dose and pick up take homes until the next trip, and the staff are really good at keeping a safe environment without coming off as total authoritarians. Again, this is a great place to begin your recovery journey and it's played a huge part in not only changing; but also saving my life. I just noticed that there weren't any reviews and wanted to give some information to those who might be interested in a program.
