Note that review is for the 3 Centerock Rd facility of the hospital, but I am also posting it here as doctors use both facilities. My recent experience at Montefiore Einstein (3 Centerock Rd, West Nyack) for a full Achilles tendon rupture repair was overwhelmingly positive, thanks to the exceptional care I received from the entire staff. Dr. Fond took my emergency call when it happened over the weekend and ensured I got in immediately once the hospital opened to see him for the initial diagnosis. From the moment I arrived for my pre-visits and surgery, Paul at the front door was a wonderful first point of contact. He was always ready with a wheelchair, a friendly smile, and great conversation. The administrative process, which can often be daunting, was made seamless by Lisa, who expertly navigated the pre-approvals needed for my surgery with impressive speed and efficiency. In the pre-op area, nurses Chris and Nicole were fantastic. They were professional and so personable, and their friendly demeanor helped put me at ease during a stressful time. I'm also immensely grateful to the anesthesiologist, Dr. Whalen, who not only kept me safe throughout the procedure but also took the time to ensure I felt calm and secure before it even began. After surgery, Dennis in recovery spent so much time with me, making sure I was coming out of the nerve block process comfortably and appropriately, and preparing me for my departure with thorough instructions. And finally, I cannot thank Dr. Somberg enough. He is a truly caring and forthright surgeon who has earned my complete trust over the years. He moved quickly to schedule my surgery, provided clear and concise explanations of the entire process, and performed the procedure exactly as he described. I could not ask for better doctor. Dealing with a full Achilles rupture is a frightening and lengthy process, but knowing I have Dr. Somberg and the entire team on my side gives me confidence in my recovery. The professionalism and kindness of everyone I encountered made all the difference.

‘Hurt People , Hurt People’. I needed a free therapist and was able to have 5 intake sessions with a pleasant young woman. I benefited from these sessions as it is always rewarding when we analyze and acknowledge what is going on in our lives. So much was happening for me and I was not able to attend all the assigned sessions. Management was not able to communicate in a responsible or mature manner; I wonder maybe they too are prior clients who have graduated but do not have a total grip on their situation and sometimes need help themselves. My very pleasant intake person became insensitive, cold, ‘passive aggressive’ and quite non communicative. I lead the conversation and realized that I was being ‘expelled’. I really don’t know the reason as I do believe she has her own issues and the Leadership is not of a strong foundation with knowledge of servicing a diverse clientele. Such a shame because this has the potential to be a top notch program in a great community. I only wish I was able to find an experienced, strong, qualified leadership that is familiar with diversity and respect. I was feeling hurt as this was the second time I had to deal with leadership’s lack of sensitivity. It should not be just a JOB when people come to you for help. Fix the structure of this place.

Yeah, so, my life was a bit of a dumpster fire before I showed up here at Paterson Recovery. 🔥🤷‍♀️ Seriously, like a bad reality TV show. But these guys? They helped me grab the extinguisher and actually put that thing out. They've got this cool way of making you face your stuff without making you feel like a total screw-up. Paterson Recovery had a calm, steady vibe that made the hard stuff feel doable. The staff was serious about helping, but they weren’t pushy — they explained everything clearly and made sure I felt supported through each step. The setup was clean, the schedule made sense, and I never felt lost or like just another number. I appreciated how they balanced structure with care. It gave me space to breathe, but also enough of a push to keep going. By the time I left, I felt more in control — like I had a grip on myself again.

I have had a great experience with the VA staff in general. Scheduling has never been a problem and they send me plenty of reminders. Everyone I've interacted with seems to take their job seriously, and really cares. I'm writing this review primarily because of a specific recent experience: At my appointment I had blood drawn and a flu shot. When I was scheduling my next appointment in the lobby, I started to feel extremely dizzy and lightheaded. I'm stubborn, and I was in the infantry, so I tried to tough it out. I figured if I could just finish my scheduling I could just go pass out in my car in private. One of the staff members noticed and immediately took me to the back of the clinic. They took my vitals, gave me water, and sat me down. All of the staff were caring and showed compassion the entire time. I felt bad for inconveniencing everyone but they would not accept any of my apologies. I'm very grateful for the way I was treated. I was very embarrassed but was given dignified, understanding treatment that anyone in a similar situation would be fortunate to receive.

Thou Dr.Powers is no longer employed here he will be surely missed. This community and the greater Samaritan humanitarian effort has helped hundreds of people get their life together, back on track and defeat their addiction. Truly with out a doubt this community and it staff has changed my life and I believe it can change anyways life. This community is almost too good to be true and Dr.Powers both lead I and others towards a life worth living. His deep caring, understanding and administration of addicts is heart felt and this man does not come to work for the job but out of a deep seated inner conviction that God has placed him on this planet to help those in need of his services. The with zealotry of a man possessed by a spirit of magnanimity, charity and self sacrifice this man gives a piece of him self in the name of helping each and every individual he comes across. The Samaritan Village corporation is an ultimate force of good and a, dare I say perfect, example of what good could be done when humans come together with good intentions, government-corporation backing, to help the citizens of an advanced civilization. Truly the future of mental and addiction treatment, dare I say the history of medicine, will be defined by the seeds plated not only at this particular location but through and with respect to the greater Samaritan Village corporation and treatment facilities, methods, staff and approach for years to come.

Came to this housing works yesterday for the first time and I have never seen an outreach for addicts that goes above and beyond like they do. Best housing works I've ever been to. They truly take their time and effort so that you understand anything you may have questions about. They truly make life so much safer for addicts, whether it's narcan kits, clean needles or assistance with health issues(mentally or physically). The Hoving Home became the sanctuary where my shattered life found renewal. I walked in burdened by the heavy weight of shame, guilt, hopelessness, loneliness, and raw anger. But within its loving, faith-filled embrace, I discovered a profound intimacy with God that began to melt away those chains. The staff's unwavering wisdom and guidance were a constant source of strength, illuminating each step along my journey of healing and transformation. Ultimately, it was the Holy Spirit's daily guidance that empowered me to rebuild. With the help of everyone—the dedicated staff and compassionate leaders—I not only completed the initial 12-month program but was also accepted into the Leadership Program in Pasadena, CA. This incredible opportunity has allowed me to extend my learning of biblical principles, further developing my skills in leading and working in ministry, which has always been my life's desire. Now, I have the profound privilege to stand alongside and serve other women who have walked through similar life struggles and are seeking change and transformation. It's a true blessing to give back what was so freely given to me. This isn't just a program; it's a home filled with God's grace, a place where brokenness is met with boundless compassion and the promise of a redeemed life. If you, or anyone you know, are looking for support on their recovery journey and transformation for their lives, I wholeheartedly encourage you to call the Hoving Home at 845-274-3812. It can truly change everything."
