My daughter has received services from Astor for the last 2-3 years. I have nothing but good things to say about the receptionists, staff, therapists, nurses and NPs. They have been a blessing to us! When my daughter does not have an appointment one week due to a holiday or whatever, someone will call to check on us. I really appreciate that. It is tough having interns as my daughter's therapists but they need to train somewhere. If your child has extreme difficulty with change then ask for someone that is consistent.

When i was there in 2018 it was very strict which most people cant complete theu get kicked out or relapse. The then director Andrea was a tough woman to trick or get one over on. Counselors come and go thst normal. Brian the house manager was also amazing and there for a long time. I heard its not the same its easy to get over on staff which isnt good for the people trying to get better. Id love to know to who the new director is. Also the house is amazing compared to like renwick house in newburgh.

I think this place is absolutely amazing... A bed, food, shower, a safe place to get clean and healthy, AMAZING staff who truly care about what they do and help in any way they can, a great stepping stone for integration back into the world after inpatient rehab. I'm so blessed, honored, and grateful to have been accepted here and have the wonderful team I have on my side and all the wonderful woman I'm here with helping each other this way.. I HIGHLY recommend trying this place out of ur trying to get sober. Jenna, Emma, Karen and carry r amazing..... Update( the new director there is amazing so caring and really truly wants to just help, and it's always there to listen and you can talk to her about anything... I don't know about these old reviews people are saying how terrible this place is I guess that was maybe when it was run by other ppl it wasn't as good . But I came in 5-11-23. Thru 5-10-24... Maybe it's because folks coming to Spectrum are often doing so because of mental/emotional difficulties in their life and are seeing things from a very negative perspective. As a parent, watching our son struggle with addiction and mental health challenges had been one of the most difficult and heartbreaking experiences of our lives. Finding the right support and treatment was a challenge for us for over two years, that was until we found Never Alone.
For 2.5 months we witnessed meaningful and encouraging changes. We saw immense growth, increased self-awareness, and a renewed sense of hope for the future. Recovery is a journey; one we now understand far more than ever due to the professional staff and education we were provided through Never Alone. We are better equipped to handle the challenges he may face along the way as well.
The team at Never Alone understands the unique challenges adolescents face with addiction and mental health. We would encourage other families who are struggling with similar challenges to know that they are not alone. Although our son entered the program, we too were welcomed and encouraged to join the parent group along with other families facing similar challenges.

In 2001, I walked into St. Christopher’s Inn broken and lost in addiction. I’ve been sober ever since. Out of all the places I went, this was the place where it finally clicked for me. Their long term program and tough love approach were exactly what I needed no sugarcoating, no excuses, just real recovery and real accountability.
If you’re truly tired of the life of drug abuse and genuinely want to change, I highly recommend St. Christopher’s Inn. The staff, the structure, and the brotherhood helped save my life. I still try to go back every summer for their annual picnic because that place will always mean something special to me.

Recenty Dr Harrison in cardiology saved my life. I was having some blood pressure issues. No heart symptoms but she got me to West Haven CT where the docs discovered I needed bypass . I am here because of her quick actions. I cannot thank her enough.

If you are in need of a rehab and ready to truly make a change for the better this is the place to be. They welcomed my young son with open arms. In what can be such a scary and emotional time for most they made his experience comfortable and the resources and support he received was phenomenal. I just wanna take a second and simply review this facility as it helped me tremendously. The Staff is very kind and welcoming and hospitable. Legitimately go above and beyond to make it so you are safe and have a fair shot at battling your addiction. Lori is an angel to say the least. She is by far the most helpful individual that I Have in my phones Contacts. No matter if it’s 5 AM or 5 PM she will respond and usually always has the magic words that I’m looking for or that my family for that case we’re looking for at the time. A lot of staff members I’ve had great interaction with However, Lori’s just an angel sent from god. I thank each and everyone of you for your help during the hardest times in my life. God bless you all and Lori I love you !!

Nursing staff , ER , hospital doctors all terrific !! Explain everything doctors took their time answering all questions . Felt like the home town care . We live a hour away and where very happy with my husbands care when he had an accident and was rushed there for surgery and was also a dialysis patient. Very few hospitals offer peritoneal dialysis but they did and ,unknowing to them I am a retired dialysis technologist, they did a fabulous job !!!

I had my second son here and had to have an emergency c-section. I was beyond scared and worried. But nurse Kayla Williams was with me through the whole birth procedure. She literally held me while I was shaking, played music from her phone, and communicated everything to me and my family! A big shout out to her! During my stay I had wonderful nurses take care of me. Shout out to nurses Brigitte, Anne Deluxe, MJ, and Madi! I can't thank the staff enough for their hospitality and help!
Next I want to thank my doctors: Dr. Marceus (who performedthe procedure), Dr. Blair, Dr. Kepplenger, and all the residents who checked up on both my son and me. I also want to thank the anesthesiologist who was on call that day (5/28/26...sorry didn't catch his name) for keeping me calm and comforted during the surgery.
I dropped a star bc my room was not cleaned. Im not talking about the bed (nurses made them every day) but housekeeping/environmental services staff did not sweep/mop the floors and take out the trash. I was there for 3ish days! It wasn't until my last night there that I asked them to send someone to mop the floor and empty my trash can.
Otherwise, the food was good, the nursing and medical staff is exceptional!, the facility itself is pretty well stocked. Overall I was very comfortable and healed very well before being sent home!

I was in Astro home for children back in 1972 and I remember they put me in the cottage I’ll never forget Frank Mulhern, and his wife Donna Mulhern, and their son Keith I remember Artie Freeney I remember Dave Tompkins and Terry the house maid I remember sister Patricia wow so many years ago and I still remember their names. I am now 56 years old going on 57 this year so you know that was many many years ago. I had some good experiences there, but I’ll never forget the day. My mom dropped me off how sad I felt at five years old.

Wanted to take a moment to dote on counselor Richelle Atkins. She has been instrumental in helping me change my life and work through my addiction. When you find someone like Richelle who is not just passionate about her job but truly cares for the people and community - that kind of dedication to the cause helps me to feel not so alone. Judgement has no place at Restorative and Richelle is a true reflection of that. I could tell her anything and she would only try and make it better for me or challenge me to think of how I can do better in the future.
