Family Service League has been a true lifeline for our family. The entire staff is compassionate, professional, and genuinely dedicated to helping people in need. From the moment we met with Robyn and Mary through Joe’ Project, we felt supported. We are incredibly grateful for the guidance and support they’ve provided. I truly don’t know where we would be without them. Cathy and Donna leading our support group have been warm and welcoming and a perfect complement to our time with Joes Project. This team has been a true blessing to our entire family. The staff is warm, caring, and truly committed to helping families and individuals through challenging times. They offer so many valuable resources and programs, even providing resources and guidance to our school district. Everything is handled with professionalism and compassion. You can tell they genuinely care about the people they serve. I’m so grateful for the support they’ve provided and would highly recommend FSL to anyone in need of guidance or assistance.

Now a total of 25 min pass that I'm still waiting and Julissa says a supervisor will be out to talk to me. When two supposed supervisors came out to me , I was told Sabrina was out sick today and they called her clients but yet I wasn't called nor on her list of appointments. The “level” of care received from this facility is appalling. My minor child has been given free rein over his care without so much as speaking to me! While I take accountability for not being able to schedule a “meeting” in less than 24 hours notice… my request for them to ENCOURAGE my child to participate as opposed to constant reminders that not participating will result in discharge, was met with a condescending reply asking “how I would prefer their policy be written”!!!! This comes after over a week and a half of transportation (they outsource) having ZERO CONSISTENCY, and out of 7 days, only showing up twice!!! I can gladly provide proof of this as well! Yet my child was being blamed and held accountable for not reporting as scheduled!!
Jovanna, who claims to be in a supervisory role, was the person mainly behind the incompetence, lies, and patronizing communication. Incompetence because after voicing my frustrations with their services and those of the transportation company, I was assured she personally would take care of it. It came with no surprise that she created an even bigger mess by reinstating transportation to another facility we utilized in the past in WeHa. Upon reaching out for help rectifying the matter, as well as discussing other treatment options, she informed me “she left early for the day and was having her team handle it”. Needless to say, I had to figure it out on my own with the company. Furthermore, I say lies because that’s all she seems able to do with any form of competence. Down to blaming myself and my child for canceling transportation when the reality is (and I have the screenshots to further accompany my claim) SHE, HERSELF, called and canceled, as well as admitted doing so while on speaker for everyone to hear!!!! Never in all my life, could I envision the treatment, or lack thereof, that we received. As though all that’s listed above isn’t enough, it’s is now Friday evening. I text her hours ago and called her out on lying in regards to who canceled his transportation today and she is still messaging both myself and my son asking that he explain why SHE canceled transportation today since I feel as though she is lying. Which only contradicts her initial claim that my child canceled his own transportation and not her! So now at this point in time, my child’s plans for the future have been dictated by this unprofessional, incompetent woman, who also felt it was acceptable to cancel transportation for my child who is a MINOR without my consent. Buckle up, Rushford! I won’t back down until I feel confident that this has been rectified and no other family will ever have to deal with this mess!

Absolute Awakenings truly helped me during my recovery from surgery. After the procedure, my mental health declined rapidly, but the evening group became a lifeline for me. I was able to build a strong community of women who continue to be part of my life and my support system.
The evening counselors were incredibly helpful and skilled, offering practical methods to manage my anxiety. I am eternally grateful to the kind folks at Mather Mental Health clinic. When I was unwell, I knew I really needed the help, but at the same time I wasn't sure if I'd get better. Sure enough, here I am years later, writing a review that I feel so much better now! I'd worked with several other therapists before landing at Mather, and I have to say that these people are the best. Most of all, Clara. I'm very, very thankful for the opportunity to work with her and to get better.

I'm glad I went to Mather Mental Health Clinic. I've been treated there since January of this year(2020). I've honestly done a complete 180 since I started.
When I started my treatment at the clinic, I felt hopeless, I didn't want to live anymore, I felt like everything I did was never good enough.
I've always known I needed help but I was too stubborn to do anything about it. I kept saying, "I'm fine. I will be fine." Obviously I was not fine.
Thanks to Clara, the doctors and group, I have control over my life again. They've given me tools that I can use for the rest of my life. I know that there will be bad days, that's part of life. But now I know how to handle them better than before I received help.
I'm moving out of state and I wish I could still see them all on zoom but unfortunately their policy doesn't allow it.
Special thanks to Clara, Dr. Patel, Dr. Qadri, Alexandra and our group. You are all amazing. Thank you for all your help ❤ I'll miss you all!

I was in treatment at Phoenix House for seven months. This review if for the HAUPPAUGE house.
PROS: The counseling from most of the staff was excellent one on one. They allow you to have your PHONE after 30 days. You get about $150/mo from the state. Out of house visits every two weeks. A small gym. They will help you with schooling (ACCESS VR). They help you get your license back via the DAR program. They have groups for grief and loss, anger management, relapse prevention, relationships group.
CONS: There's no smoking. Most rooms have bunk beds. AA only comes twice per week. The food is not great. A lot of the clients have "jail house" mentalities. Just avoid these people. The facility is old and under funded.

Unscrupulous, money hungry, unprofessional. I was lied to regarding the amenities of this program. I came for mental health, and had a health condition which I had discussed prior to my arrival. I was told they could accommodate my health issues, which was a flat out LIE. I needed to rest during some groups and the nurse told me “can’t you just sleep in the group room?” despite previously being told I could rest in a proper room when I needed. I finally had it when I learned they were letting other patients sleep during group and not me. When I arrived the house mother made no effort to explain the housing rules and when I asked for clarity she gave me an incorrect answer; She then YELLED at me later for not following a rule, which SHE had incorrectly explained. At this point I had enough of the unprofessionalism and disrespect. This level of conduct is a waste of time and distressing. Not to mention there was a MAN in the women’s dorm. Not a man transitioning to become a woman, but a literal cis man… Yes he was gay, but he still identifies as a man. I left abruptly, as I knew I was just a payday for these people. Then they billed my insurance for two weeks despite me only being there for one week. The majority of the staff are uncoordinated and undeserving of holding power over others.

I've been getting services from this place since I was 12 years old, case management, psychiatry, therapy, and worked with my mom until I became 18 before it became individual. My overall experience was a lot.
Positives: I really loved my meetings with the therapist, then-case manager, and psychiatrist. I feel like I've made improvements when it comes to having healthier coping mechanisms, challenging my irrational thinking, attending fun events, giving me short-term relief through events and exploring local areas, recognizing my own needs, and allowing me to function better in social situations and communicate more effectively. The case manager was also very understanding when I made the decision to change from family to be individualized when I became 18 due to my mom's negative reaction and how, despite what she says to them, she has shown no interest or drive in applying her advice.
I also appreciate the psychiatrist being able to contact my insurance company when they initially denied my prescription despite providing me with psychiatry in the past. She was very attentive, aware of my background, and a pleasure to speak with. She and the first case manager were the most understanding of my side, feelings, and culture.
They were very understanding when I communicated concerns that will be mentioned in the negatives section and are currently helping me find services to transfer to.
Negatives: A few months ago, I was unexpectedly switched from my then-case manager to someone completely different. Personally, I have not been able to feel any sort of connection with her. The sessions are substantially shorter than with the first (10–15 minutes VS an hour), and when I try to tell her something, she asks me if I told someone else, what they said, and whether she agrees with them or not. I feel like I can't tell her much, and that the few times we have, nothing gets done. She was also the biggest offender of the main reason I decided to make the decision to discontinue all services:
I'm now 20 going on 21, and I felt like, while I made improvements on other aspects of my life, I've never been able to fully process my deep-rooted trauma and my strained relationship with my mom. When my services revolved around both myself and my mom, my mom was highly unresponsive to the feedback given by the case manager and multiple arguments were sprouted as a result. There were several times when I felt my mom wasn't being fully honest to these people, yet I'd constantly feel like I was at fault. Even when it has been shifted to individual treatment, I felt extremely uncomfortable sharing it, as there were a few sessions when I felt that my feelings weren't fully listened to and that my mom's input and influence likely made them biased. Even after they all reassured me, they've kept asking me if they could get my mom's side, which I would refuse each time, and many of these discussions. I do recognize this is a circumstance outside the workers' control, and I'm deeply saddened about how much of an effect it had on my experience.
FSL, thank you for all the positive change you managed to give me for so many years. I'm just really sad to know that I now have to look elsewhere for my own well-being, but I hope you all do well!

Complaining about the food? Complaining that they were bored? You can always go out and smoke some more crack if you’d like! I went to this place 16 years ago. They helped me get into long-term treatment. I’m 16 years sober. After trying to get sober for about 20 years prior to that. If I had to take a guess? I’d say the people on here who were bitching about the food or their boredom? Are out somewhere getting high right now.
