I'm asking about the program actually. At detox how is it exactly? Are the women and guys around one another? As well as the php and housing with the classes. Do you have groups and all that with the opposite sex? It's kind of a distraction for me that's why I am asking lol but while I'm here how is the food and are there TV's in the detox rooms and basically is it comfortable? I have 4 stars to write this comment obvi not bc I know how it is here. So please let me know, hopefully you can comment on this post, not really sure how it works lol thank y'all!

At first, there was some confusion with the first Provider that did my intake. I am not sure he knew how to treat my addiction since it was not a common substance. Kratom is not widely known or understood as a substance that is highly addictive, especially if you have a history of opiate addiction.
I am being seen by a different Provider after that first visit and she is awesome. She (Joey) seems well educated and has been amazing with my treatment plan.
There is no shame in admitting you have a problem and it takes a strong person to ask for help. Don't let the disease get the best of you - YOU ARE WORTH IT!

Fayette Womens Residential saved me.....I was able to go in and actually tell people who I had never seen before my whole life. I was one who had to stay there twice and hada long journey of a prison stay before I was able to go home and live a life. I grew very close to the councelors there...I even wrote them from prison and let them know my progress and what I was doing that they taught me to be sober. Even after leaving prison and going home I knew that life would not be easy. I had to prepair myself for the fact I would never see my father again. I lost him in prison to an overdose to the evil drug that tore me down. I knew that I would never use heroin again! Today still 3 and a half years off heroin its a struggle. Ladies its not am easy road. Hard work has to be put in to remain sober! I just wanted to share a little about my experience there. Thanks so much all of you for helping me. The absolute definition of giving far too much power to a for profit organization tasked with "helping" the members of our society trying so desperately to transition back into society after serving their debt to society! Let their website or employees tell it the help the recently released clients to obtain employment, navigate through the challenges of regaining their place in society, assist in substance abuse and mental health care, and just get back on their feet as a whole. But let the truth be told these people are worried about nothing more than the all mighty dollar! They received a lump sum payment from the state for each released individual being transferred into their care. From there they force you to take pointless programing in order to further charge the state even more money. Once you complete your classes you are encouraged to work. But not for just anyone but for a local temp agency in which the voa receives a percentage of your pay from the temp agency. But no it doesn't stop there the greed continues because they then charge you 25% of your pay for your "cost to house and feed you." Mind you the state has already paid them for your cost of housing and meals so do the math something doesn't add up here. Not to mention the fact that after they keep 25% of your pay they force you to put the remainder into a bank account in which they control and only allow you a measley $50 a week in allowance. God forbid you have a bill to pay because half the time they come up with an excuse as to why you can't access your own money to pay your bill. But isn't being responsible and paying your bills on time something they should encourage not frown upon due to the fact they would rather your money remain in the bank account in which they control. Why is that? So they can make even more money off the interest that your money is earning THEM! Yes you read that right. You don't get to keep the interest that your own earnings have created! So once again they are making yet another healthy little profit off the back of some of society s most vulnerable individuals. So you might be asking yourself what if a person doesn't work or have to take a boat load of classes? They won't make any money off them aside for that one time lump sum payment upon your release into their care. What happens to those people you ask? Well the staff here find ways to violate your terms of release in turn sending the non money making folks back to prison, uprooting them from society and ruining any progressions that they had accomplished during their ever so brief release from prison only to then be released back into society with no money, no assistance and no hope for an improved quality of life all because of the greed that has overtaken this for profit company tasked with helping others when in reality the only people they are helping are the people at the top of the totem pole here at "volunteers" of America! Last I checked someone that volunteers does so I order to help people not use them and abuse them like a herd of cows going out to slaughter! This place is corrupt on every level possible and is just as guilty of crimes as the people they were supposed to be helping. The system is truly broken in regards to reforming the incarcerated and the whole process in which the state has left the dirty work to a cash driven greedy corporation such as the voa!

The staff at Floyd Simantel have always gone out of their way to provide me with excellent service. I have been being treated there for almost 5 years and in that time I have been able to make great strides in creating a life worth living. Learning how to live and deal with my mental illness as well as my former substance use and abuse was not something they could do for me, I had to do the work, I had to show up, I had to be honest with myself. They helped me to learn a better way of life.
Reading the other review posted here, to me, is pathetic. They are not magicians who can cure you with a wave of their hand. Rebuilding a new and better life for yourself takes work, which includes making plans and taking action, is what they have helped me to do, but I was ready and wanted what they had to offer.
And I have always been treated with respect and dignity in the manner with which I have treated them.
My treatment has been totally outpatient so treatment is ongoing.

The organization has received The Joint Commission’s gold seal of approval for | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I truly loved this place. During my time here, I struggled a lot the first couple weeks, and that was intentional on the programs part. It’s not supposed to be easy and you can adjust to the difficult aspects by truly letting go of wanting to control and accepting why you came to get help. I grew more here in a month than I ever could have in the real world.
I loved the staff, the doctors, the clinicians, the nurses, and my housemates. I never thought I’d say this but I actually miss being here! The forced structure was comforting and having small responsibilities daily helped me stay accountable. I miss making my bed after breakfast and tending to my little plant. I miss racing to the kitchen after group before 9 am hit so I could have one last cup of coffee. I miss that. I miss making things special as opposed to just having carte Blanche to drink caffeine whenever I want now, it takes the meaning out of the actions we choose when we live with no rules or structure.
The content of learning was helpful, and yes at times repetitious, but that’s how we change. Changing isn’t learning something then doing it perfect the next day. It is tedious amounts of reps and time that add up to meaningful change, it’s not glamorous like the world makes change seem. This program is HARD. And that’s what I wanted. I wanted challenge, I wanted growth, and I was sick and tired of being tired. This time in my life I decided I wasn’t the expert on how to do things considering how badly things were going. Please know that if it’s hard or you think it should be your way, it’s okay to let go and let them be the experts in their field. I am forever changed from this place, and I hope you will be too. And I am better for it because of this place, the friendships and love from staff alike.❤️
