I've been meaning to write this for some time, but after reading some of the other reviews posted on here, decided I want to share my own experience. I have a family member who came here when that person was really struggling, not only with SA and sobriety, but with life in general while navigating a life of sobriety. I am purposefully keeping this person's identity ambiguous because this person doesn't wish to disclose their identity.
This person was very nervous and anxious to begin treatments anywhere and chose this clinic based on the reviews posted here. This person was matched with Cory for counseling. Cory has been absolutely amazing. He is incredibly easy to talk to, doesn't make my loved one feel the typical stigma that's attached to SA, and has become a mentor and trusted confidant. My loved one says that Cory doesn't JUST focus on SA and sobriety, he helps his clients with everyday life struggles, like issues that sometimes come up at the workplace, dealing with trauma like the death of close family members, troubles with traumas that occured in childhood, and traumas related to past he helps to treat the WHOLE PERSON, and and doesn't focus solely on the addiction issues. My loved one says that it's not just the medicine that helps an addict live a life in recovery. It's the counselor who helps the addict live a life free of SA. They say it's the combination of the two that's really helped them stay sober for several years now.
I know most people reading this are probably most concerned about dosing. So, it starts out with dosing at a certain MG based on the information given at intake, and probably COWS testing, etc. The lines are very short, if there's a line at all, and most of the nurses that dose are nice. I've been inside the clinic before, and it's very clean. There seems to be plenty of seating, and there's a TV in the waiting room. The bathrooms are exceptionally clean, but there is a camera in them, lol, I'm assuming that when the clients have to submit a UA.
You USED to start by dosing every day during the week and get a take-home for Sunday with your Saturday in-clinic dose. If you've followed the program by having clean UAs and getting in the minimum amount of counseling hours, you get one week of take-homes after around 6 months. If you continue to stay on the program, you get 2 weeks of take-homes after around 13 months. You get a month of take-homes after doing what you're supposed to for appx 26 months. However, thers a new director, and tbings are changing at the moment.
They can call you at any time the clinic is open to count your bottles and do a UA. If you've tampered with your bottles, lose one of your bottles, or failed a UA, there's obviously going to be consequences. I can't tell you exactly what they are, because my loved one has maintained sobriety!
The staff were all very friendly to me, with the exception of one lady, who I've been told is the new director. This has been the only individual who has EVER not been extremely warm and friendly to me. She seemed like she didn't want to be there or something, Im not really sure. My loved one says that she has started implementing new rules that, to me, seem to discourage new clients to choose this clinic and may drive current clients to other clinics.
I dont know exactly what else she has in store for clients in upcoming months, but it seems that she's going to make things a bit more challenging for new and current clients, which really sucks, for lack of better words. This clinic, and counselors like Cory, are the main reason my loved one has been able to remain sober this long, and we fear that things are going to change in a negative way. So, while we recommend this clinic to anyone struggling, I'll be sure to update this review in a couple of months to see if this new director makes changes that lower the star rating.
I really really recommend this place- as far as counselors, I obviously recommend Cory, but I know that Julie and Sarah are also really good people. Good luck in your recovery!!!

I've dosed at clinics across the country and of 10 different clinics i can honestly say these folks have treated me very well and the biggest thing was I've yet to stand in line for hours on end . And I read these comments and the only people that have negative things to say about them is the people who got discharged....just sayn.

Great place to get methadone daily for the rest of your life if you want also please people please look at the ratio of success compared to those who have been discharged 😂 it's pathetic. If you want gigantic doses of methadone for like 3 years this is the place. You'll get 175 mg's if you want . It's just a Job to them. Adrian is truly the only one who really does care an that's just the truth. Don't believe me ask the people who use to work there. I mean one counselor was caught sleeping with a patient. Anyway be careful and don't let them know anything about you and only trust the one who actually cares Adrian

I came to Silver Pines in a very bad mental state. I never thought I would ever see myself in a situation like this, but I am so thankful I went to Silver Pines. Being around others who were struggling and forming bonds and getting to know the staff was incredibly helpful. I was quite isolated in a lot of ways before I went and I feel like I can pick myself up now and take more control over my life. The groups, especially process groups, were very helpful and cathartic. Staff was also very understanding and encouraging. I want to thank Alisha, Doug, Deidre, Cat, Eddy, and many others (that I can't remember at this very moment, you were all fantastic though!) for all the support. The behavioral health techs were also fantastic. Of the BHT's, Tim really helped me to open up and he helped me immensely when I was getting familiar with the place and nervous in my first few days. When dealing with people who are struggling, that type of compassion is important and he really made the difference for me. Thank you again.

This place actually wants to help people do good with their lives. They actually care about the people and everyone there is really nice.. They actually listen to you and make you comfortable as possible and they try to help set a goal plan for your life. They will help get you through on what you need to do.. Amazing!!! Helpful and caring!!! There’s nothing bad here nothing!! I can’t tell you how wonderful it is and refreshing!!! I have been on methadone 4 years and had to relocate back to central Pa and when I made arrangements with my old clinic at ARS, they tried to literally kill me!!! When I moved my entire life and had it all switched so I thought until!!! I get there and then they say oh your insurance is for another county do until you switch it we cannot help you!!! And left me sitting in the room alone!! Just not even care or bothering with me!!! They make ppl want to relapse why bother when you don’t care this much but I rememenrr beinf told Mechanicsburg ctc does same day so w only 32 mins left I rushed over to here and the world of diff of care, wanting to help!!! Willing to work with you as anyone knows even if you have no insurance the state of pa will pay up to 90 days back bills so they got all my paperwork and my dosing
That day and let me dose and set me up!!! I cannot tell you how as I say defeated in the other clinic defeated crying hysterically I saw my entire sobriety flash and about to be gone before my eyes!! I went from homeless, destitute, a person no one saw as worthy to a career in retail management, built myself to a respectable person agian that also helps others in recovery with at least that first step and now use my career to help give a job to those otherowise others look over!!
So thank you sooooo much Mechanicsburg CTC because of you!!! You helped this one persons world stay so much brighter!!! Thank you!!! If you need help in anyway please do yourself the biggest favor and just start here!!!

Bold Steps BH has been absolutely wonderful since my husband left another inpatient rehab. They left us tour and meet everyone. Explained what a ‘normal’ every day would look like. They don’t sugar coat anything and if you come there- they do NOT treat you like a prisoner and hold you accountable- per my husband who is the patient.
The experience from Bold Steps vs the last place is night & day different.

The staff are compassionate, knowledgeable, respectful, non judgmental & easy to open up to. You’ll feel warmly welcomed even as you walk into the front door. My guard was definitely up when I began at the clinic. I’ve been there for several years & don’t know where my life would be without the clinic & staff members I’ve grown to know & trust. I highly recommend this facility no matter where you are in the hopes of long term recovery. Recovery is a lot of work but oh so worth its success! I came through here 2 times and am almost 3 yrs clean. I've had my ups and downs, multiple rehabs, multiple rehab relationships, etc. This was a male only rehab and that's what I needed. I could complain about some things but the goal was to stay clean and I didn't wanna die from an overdose. My counselor was Casey and she was what I needed in a counselor and she lived everything she says. Amazing counselor. Also night staff Brad and Gino. Brad always talked to me and believed in me and he's everything I wanna be In a man and in my recovery. He is the definition of what a man is. Gino is just a thorough dude. This place literally saved my life, and for that I won’t go to any other hospital. I’ve been admitted several times and the staff is always professional and super nice. The emergency department can get super busy and wait times can get a little long if you’re not there for a life threatening emergency, but anyone who’s spent a lot of time in and out of the hospital knows it isn’t the hospital’s fault.

I would not recommend Mikaila. I struggle very badly with depression/anxiety/PTSD. The way I was made to feel during my last visit was uncalled for. I’ve never felt so unseen and unheard in my life. The annoyance she showed towards me was actually very upsetting. Needless to say, I did not return.

I was a client At this drug and alcohol center and I honestly wouldn't have made it through without the nurse manager Rachel, she went above and beyond for me more than I ever expected, and honestly more than I saw her do for any of the other clients .when I was about to get kicked out she didn't just stand by she stood up for me defending me and did everything she could to keep me there .when staying wasn't an option anymore she even offered me a place to sleep on her own couch until I could get into another treatment center that's not something you see everyday and I'll never forget it she didn't just treat me like another client she saw me as a man as someone who was special, and I will always be grateful for what she did And has offered me.

They don’t sugar coat anything and if you come there- they do NOT treat you like a prisoner and hold you accountable- per my husband who is the patient.

My wife was transported from the hospital to River's Bend Health and Rehab Center's dementia unit in June. When I got to her room, I found that the bed had no remote controls and was flat. My wife had neck surgery years ago and could no longer lie flat in a bed. I brought this to the attention of her caretaker as well as having no TV remote. Within an hour, Bill the maintenance man was in the room checking the bed. Bill was very polite & excused himself as he looked under the bed to see what was needed to control the bed. He returned with various controls & found they would not work. In a few minutes he was back with the foot board control that operated the bed. He then brought the remote for the TV. He apologized for the inconvenience.
I found the care staff to be comforting & caring. Every time I come in to visit my wife, the staff is smiling & interacting with the patients. When I visit my wife, she is clean as well as her cloths. After taking care of my wife in her condition for over a year, I know how difficult it is to care for her. These girls are doing an awesome job caring for her and the other patients. I have been visiting my wife at lunch & supper time and observed that they are getting plenty to eat and getting properly balanced meals.
I received a phone call from the River's Bend doctor & nurse practitioner that he the doctor would be seeing her twice per week and the nurse practitioner would be there 5 days per week.
This was very comforting for me.
Lauren, the Director of Admissions was very nice and comforting when I met with her. She helped me through the paperwork and assured me that my wife would get good care.
I met with the other administration officials and found them to be helpful and comforting as well. I know that my wife is getting good care here. I thank all of you for your hard work and caring.

Please do not seek help at this terrible recovery center. I've first handly witnessed the staff treat there patients like criminals or low life's. The supervisor Mandy and staff have no problem creating a non reliable, extremely hostile and discrimintory environment for any and all recovering addicts seeking help with medically assessed treatment. The staff also have broken confidentiality laws by sharing patients private traumatic events with each other.

I have nothing but great things to say about this Clinic. I was going through so much in my life & I’m so glad I found this place. The staff there were so kind & friendly to me throughout my recovery. The receptionist named Vicky & a nurse named Janice were my two most favorite workers there. They’ve always been so kind to me. One thing I’ll miss about this place is coming in w/ a good morning greetings & a goodbye from Vicky every time I leave. I love her, she’s a real sweetheart ❤️

Not a place that a addiction an addict wants to get treatment. If you have any kind of conflict with their counselors.they take there world over urs. They make u take ur take home bottles on days they are closed thats bullshit bottles are rewards. Well there's supposed to be our Rewards unbelievable bad weather they never close take me 45 minutes to drive there while their director sits home house
