Been going here 15+ years. Well actually in cranberry 1st, then here at NC. In all that time, I've come to realize this: they don't need us. We need them. They have ALL the leverage, we have none. That being said, I would suggest getting down on your knees and thanking God that you have the option here in NC of Discovery House. Would u rather go back to criming, sick every other day.. Ugh. Not me. If u follow the rules, such as showing up during dosing hours, etc u will have no issues.

Over 15 years ago, my husband and I were faced with what would turn out to be one of the most important choices in our lives. When new regulations drastically reduced availability to oxycodone, our options seemed bleak. We could either succumb to unbearable withdrawal and a high recidivism rate, switch to the much less expensive heroin, or find another way to rid our lives of illegal drugs once and for all. Fortunately, we found Suboxone and I can say with certainty, it changed (and may have saved) our lives. Having experienced multiple clinics and countless doctors who seemed more interested in $ than truly helping, when we found Crossroads several years ago, it was a blessing in every way. Not only are we treated with respect, but the team at Crossroads is dedicated to ensuring every aspect our lives is set up to promote our ongoing progress. We are proud of our journey to success and we credit Crossroads for enabling that success and for paving the way towards a bright, productive future.

I absolutely love the staff here. They do not get enough credit for what they go through. They deal with a lot, but they are always so kind, hart warming, and helpful. They truly care if you need extra help with resources, and Dr. Jen is the best. I've been to a few of the crossroad clinics and many of them are great, but this is my favorite. They don't judge if you just need help. If you are struggling and need help with your addiction, this is the place to go. If you aren't ready to wean off, the doctor will not even think about forcing you to. My life is very chaotic at times and I can say, I've never felt more safe in my recovery than at crossroads with the staff and Dr. Jen.

I was a resident at highland house from December 23rd 2019 - June 1st 2020 I must say this place is awesome compared to other half way house's. I came to highland house not knowing what to expect, because it was a new area that I have never been to. This place has slot of things to offer but most importantly they give you multiple opportunity at different resources and my advice to anyone who may decide to go to this place is take advantage of every resource that you can it really is a stepping stone to changing your life around if I ever need to go back to a half way house I would most certainly choose highland house again the staff is amazing and went out of their way to accommodate any needs we may needed if they were able to. Highland house saved my life why not let it save yours too.

Unfortunately you get what you get with state insurance. We are just numbers in the grand scheme of things and that s just how it works in America. You need quality health insurance or have to pay out of pocket for quality healthcare. Honestly, When I lived in CT the state healthcare wasn t bad but PA is a joke. With all that being said, I feel for the people on here that have had terrible experiences bc i have as well my whole life trying to find a therapist that s right for me. Maybe I m just lucky but I have miss Palmer as a therapist and she is great. She listens, gives me great food for thought every time I leave , I don t have a single complaint. She doesn t try to force medication on me, she s very intelligent and she honestly helps me put the pieces together that rattle around in my head all day with my neurotic thinking and self analysis. I am grateful to have her unbiased support in my life right now and I don t wake up in the morning and dread my appointment.i feel comfortable , seen and heard. There are good ones out there, just have to keep trying til you find one I guess.

A year later, I got my son home, my fiance and I both got clean TOGETHER, we both have full time jobs, 2 cars, a beautiful home and our families back. For this first time in 14 years we are both sober, healthy, happy, and succeeding in life. I can't recommend these people enough! Betzy at the front desk is very friendly and helpful same with my Doctor Sean and My Therapist Priscilla. Came in looking for help for my ADHD, got diagnosed went through the process and Now I'm being treated and Wow, I'm just impressed with how smooth and friendly the process has been and their willingness to work with my work schedule which consists of 12hrs swinging from days to nights every week. My life is starting to take a turn for the better and I'm excited and hopeful for what's to come!! My only complaint which honestly doesn't outweigh everything enough for a lower rating was that I had an Interaction with a Nurse I believe her name was Gina , one time that I tried to call my Doctor to try and give him an update on my medication which was not working at the time. This lady had the Audacity to tell me "If you truly had ADHD you should be feeling some sort of effect", as if I'm trying to lie about my medication for whatever reason. When I'm the one struggling, close to lose my Job due to my heavy inability to focus, and struggling with my life at home...Few weeks go by and talk to my Doctor we agreed in upping the dosage, and If she ever sees this(and I hope she does), Guess what lady, it worked, I was not lying, so your disrespectful comment was completely unnecessary. And honestly if that is how you normally treat patients who are struggling you have no business being in this clinic or any others.

I ve been working with Dr Mathurs for the past few years to address lately discovered mental health concerns. I ve found that Dr. M and his staff have been attentive, empathic and supportive throughout the years. Coming from a strict religious background it is such a relief to be in a nonjudgmental environment addressing real MH symptoms previously unknown and untreated from childhood. This industry is a Godsend and needs to be celebrated. Culture, religion, socioeconomic status or political views should never influence how a person is treated or viewed. .Thank you and keep up the good work.

The people here have saved my life. They actually care and want you to get better. I have to talk about Erin the nurse though. She has been such a great influence on my life. She has always been there to help and encourage me to succeed but never ever have I felt judged by her for my previous mistakes. I ve seen some people get mad and say horrible things about her because they lost their privileges, only to later come and tell her thank you for holding them accountable and helping them to really get back on track. When you re an addict you place blame on others so much because it s the only way you can live with yourself, but then you come to realize that it s us who did wrong, they realized Erin didn t take their privileges they took them from themselves, and the same people have come around and told me she saved their lives as well. She is an incredible nurse. She cares so much and sets an excellent example. I hope that Foundations realize just how blessed they are to have someone like her. She s a treasure and a beautiful soul. One reason I ve been clean for so long is I couldn t stand to let her down. When I say she s saved my life I mean it. Cherish her. Always!

I cannot say enough good about foundations and their staff. The nurses Erin and Edie are God sends. These people have helped save my life and I have many years clean and sober because of their help. People have preconceived notions and judgments about medication assisted recovery but you don t know how it really is. These people care. They don t want you stuck there. They saved my life over and over and I will forever be grateful. I m going on 19 years clean because of their help and services. If you or a loved one needs help, there s no better help out there than foundations. ADDED . I was reading the other reviews and I d love to address the one who says the nurses are horrible human beings. ABSOLUTELY NOT. When you don t follow the rules that are out there for your safety you lose privileges. The nurses are not being mean by having to tell you that you failed a drug test or you didn t show up to group so you can t have the same privileges as those who do what s right.. YOU DID THAT TO YOURSELF. And then he stated someone should burn it down!? If anyone did something so heinous because they can t comply.. you d be totally destroying so many peoples future. Not only would you take innocent peoples jobs but you d crush single moms in recovery and other people trying to make it! How incredibly horrible! If anyone out there wants to get their lives back these people will bend over backwards to help you. Please don t be turned off by a rant from someone who destroyed his own experience by not doing what s right. Part of recovery is taking responsibility for your mistakes. No one can ruin your recovery but you. Foundations is amazing and they care. Especially the AMAZING NURSES! I want to add about my counselor Sydney. I have never in my life felt more advocated for. She is absolutely amazing. The people here truly care and want to see people get better. The only people who have problems are the ones who are completely out of line and disrespectful. They re mad because they don t get privileges but they forget they are the ones who ruin it for themselves. The nurses didn t make you give a positive urinalysis. You did that. I have maintained my privileges for over a decade by simply allowing myself to live a normal life. And I wouldn t have this chance if it wasn t for the help of these great people. Thank you foundation s staff for helping to save my life. My son who I got clean for in the first place is now on his way to becoming a state trooper. If you listen to them and do what you re supposed to do. You will have your life back!

For many years, decades in fact, I've heard alot about Teen Challenge. I've heard how wonderful and successful they are with people both young and old who are struggling with alcoholism and drug addiction, where traditional treatment centers and 12 step programs failed these people Teen Challenge successfully turned their lives around with this totally and complete Faith Based approach. Clients/Residents are encouraged to completely stay away from all secular activities and music and totally focus on the Jesus, the Bible, Church, Faith, Prayer and everything else associated with dedication to a Christian way of life. I've spoken to several people in the past who have successfully completed the Teen Challenge Program and they all said that their lives were completely turned around leaving alcohol, drugs, homelessness and crime behind them and now today, still devoted to Christianity are living productive and fulfilling lives.

I have suffered from drug addiction for over 25 years. I learned life skills that have transformed my life in the Moffett house. As of today I have been clean for four years, I am in college, and a productive member of society. I went from homeless to having my own house in Beaver PA. . I have the Moffett house and there staff to thank.
