They have ALL the leverage, we have none. That being said, I would suggest getting down on your knees and thanking God that you have the option here in NC of Discovery House. I love this VA from my PCP Samantha Jo Carlantonio and her team, to my Psychiatrist Dr. Garibo to Ms Terry (I have gained a best friend) at the whole health, to my eyes care team Dr Dohoda (what a brilliant mind) and Ms Emily (she is the BEST) and the rest of the team. To the two doctors I’ve seen in orthopedic, to the new podiatrist… what an amazing Dr., to the physical therapy team where I’ve been seen countless of times, how wonderful they all are. Also my Dentist Dr. Cagni (how amazingly caring is she) and her team. To the urgent care team what a magnificent staff, the expedited treatment, the in and out it’s just evidence of caring of people. To the laboratory team wonderful professional and efficient “vampires”. To all the receptionist, the front and the individual one in the different areas they are amazingly friendly and caring. To the cleaning personnel, a team that I don’t see much but their presence is felt throughout the facility, how clean they keep the place. To the records team, they are all so polite and efficient. To the pharmacy team, and the friendly smile of the gentleman dispensing medication. To the security team and the volunteers that greet me as I walk in. I feel very blessed to be taken cared of these professionals. This facility is easy to walk through and the elevators are very nice. I also would like to mention that there is always parking space, and during winter, snow is removed for parking space. Now the teams that need lots of improvement are Community Care, which it does not feel that they care at all. I’ve walked in that office twice in 3 years and I was treated as if I was bothering and interrupting when there was no one there. They are not any better over the phone, a a minimum they need a class on how to be professional, no one can’t teach CARE. Another place that needs a LOT to improve is the Social Work services, the times I have been referred to them, I get incomplete information where they tell me where to research instead of them doing the research or they send me information useless information of horses instead of service dog information. They also have not been good to talk to over the phone. The travel Voucher gentleman is not user friendly and the Little cafeteria does not allow Service Dogs, shame and you would have to walk through there to get to the little exchange, which I have not visited since I certified my service dog. I thank all for the LOVE and CARE I receive in this facility and to the ones that need to improve … well… get to it, you are ruining the atmosphere and vibe. I started at the New Castle Location when it was The Discovery House and then transferred to the Cranberry location when I moved, and then ended here at the Farrell location when I moved again back to Ohio. They accepted Ohio medicaid and I really didn't want to change clinics, so I stayed with Discovery House/Comprehensive Treatment Center. Each location was fantastic. By far my favorite clinics. Counselors and staff were 100% amazing and super caring, considerate and most importantly understanding and non judgemental. I really recommend this place. Thank you for your help. Leonard Platt 3 months ago I came to the Youngstown, Meridian Rd location to get off of heroin/fentanyl at the end of 2023. The first day i came in to fill out paperwork i could tell i was at the right place. The staff are so caring and even when they're extremely busy they take their time with you no matter what. My only complaint was that my tolerance was so high and they start out every new patient on 30mg. That led me to still use until a couple months later when i finally got up to a higher dosage and they split my daily dose because i have such a high metabolism as found out they testing. Other than that i have absolutely no complaints and would wholeheartedly call a few of the staff friends. They have gone above and beyond for me a few times and i appreciated it so much. Many others will ask how my days going and while I'm at the dosing counter Maria is sure to ask if everything is ok with me which makes me feel great! The first year and a half i had Krista Rubosky as my primary care and MAT physician. Because i drive 63 miles round trip and because i was going thru other medical problems that hadn't been figured out yet, she would do both appointments at the same time on the MAT side. She was so caring and amazing, the best ever, but unfortunately she left there for personal reasons early 2025. As far as all the doctors, nurses and screening personnel, i can't say enough about how good mannered and patient everyone is and i honestly just love them for doing everything in their power to make us patients feel like someone actually cares and takes the time to do so. My heart goes out to all the employees and especially my counselor Abby. She's helped me more than i actually think she even knows. I've never been to a counselor before but it's been a pleasure being with her. I'll be moving next month out of state and I've got to say, i will wholeheartedly miss each and everyone of the employees at the Meridian Health Campus in Youngstown Ohio on Meridian road. I will genuinely miss our interactions every two weeks on my pick up day. Thanks for everything everyone and to anyone thinking of coming here, do it!
