Been going here 15+ years. Well actually in cranberry 1st, then here at NC. In all that time, I've come to realize this: they don't need us. We need them. They have ALL the leverage, we have none. That being said, I would suggest getting down on your knees and thanking God that you have the option here in NC of Discovery House. Would u rather go back to criming, sick every other day.. Ugh. Not me. If u follow the rules, such as showing up during dosing hours, etc u will have no issues.

Over 15 years ago, my husband and I were faced with what would turn out to be one of the most important choices in our lives. When new regulations drastically reduced availability to oxycodone, our options seemed bleak. We could either succumb to unbearable withdrawal and a high recidivism rate, switch to the much less expensive heroin, or find another way to rid our lives of illegal drugs once and for all. Fortunately, we found Suboxone and I can say with certainty, it changed (and may have saved) our lives. Having experienced multiple clinics and countless doctors who seemed more interested in $ than truly helping, when we found Crossroads several years ago, it was a blessing in every way. Not only are we treated with respect, but the team at Crossroads is dedicated to ensuring every aspect our lives is set up to promote our ongoing progress. We are proud of our journey to success and we credit Crossroads for enabling that success and for paving the way towards a bright, productive future.

I started going to the New Castle VA Clinic (Butler Rd, Ridgewood building) in 2023. From Eddie at the front desk, to my nurse, to my Physician Assistant, to Dr. John, I've always had great experiences & excellent care. I was a resident at highland house from December 23rd 2019 - June 1st 2020 I must say this place is awesome compared to other half way house's. I came to highland house not knowing what to expect, because it was a new area that I have never been to. This place has slot of things to offer but most importantly they give you multiple opportunity at different resources and my advice to anyone who may decide to go to this place is take advantage of every resource that you can it really is a stepping stone to changing your life around if I ever need to go back to a half way house I would most certainly choose highland house again the staff is amazing and went out of their way to accommodate any needs we may needed if they were able to. Highland house saved my life why not let it save yours too.

Unfortunately you get what you get with state insurance. We are just numbers in the grand scheme of things and that’s just how it works in America. You need quality health insurance or have to pay out of pocket for quality healthcare. Honestly, When I lived in CT the state healthcare wasn’t bad but PA is a joke. With all that being said, I feel for the people on here that have had terrible experiences bc i have as well my whole life trying to find a therapist that’s right for me. Maybe I’m just lucky but I have miss Palmer as a therapist and she is great. She listens, gives me great food for thought every time I leave , I don’t have a single complaint. She doesn’t try to force medication on me, she’s very intelligent and she honestly helps me put the pieces together that rattle around in my head all day with my neurotic thinking and self analysis. I am grateful to have her unbiased support in my life right now and I don’t wake up in the morning and dread my appointment.i feel comfortable , seen and heard. There are good ones out there, just have to keep trying til you find one I guess.
