I went to Bradford broken homeless and hopeless, I went on a whim, but really it was God don't fire me what I couldn't do for myself. I was very thoroughly taken care of through detox all the way to when I left. The BHT for my cabin B.J., Shelly, and Susan were all very loving and helpful. Also very relatable. My counsellor Rebecca dug in deep and helped me realize things I didn't even my problems were rooted to. I recommend Bradford to anyone seeking help. Also Ms Shareda has done a great job at reaching out since I left which has kept me very motivated.

We came in after hours through the ER. I called and ask for directions how to get him inside, and where to park my car. He was in a transport wheel chair. The lady came out to my car, and called for someone to take my husband inside, while I parked a couple of blocks away. When I got to the ER he was already in a bay, with the IV in his arm. They conducted all the testing & cat scan. Every single person was kinder than the last. They even brought him a breakfast tray. They determined he would be admitted and shortly after that was placed in his room. They also asked if I wanted a bed in the room with him. He was there around 10 days.( I declined) And they absolutely were up to date, kind, and above and beyond anything I would have expected. The parking at the V.A. center and shuttling took a while to navigate, I do wish that had been explained to me sooner.

My first time experience at the Birmingham VA was very pleasant.
Today's visit was as efficient as I have ever seen. The emergency check in, triage, being checked out by a PA, X-ray, nurse administering shots, very smooth. Everyone was so professional and courteous. Review of the images, discharge, and a reasonable wait at pharmacy, and then out the door I went. From the time of arrival until I departed was just under 2.5 hours. Well done Birmingham VA staff!

My son was shot 4 times on Jan 31 on my granddaughter’s 13th birthday in front of his father in Bessemer. He was shot twice in the stomach and twice in the chest. He remained calm and called 911 and told God you saved me once so I know you will save me again. He was born three days after my 42nd birthday and received his name due to a healing when they said he was going to die. His name is Blesset Isaiah Person. After he was named after a Nigerian friend named Blessing and my sister-in-law said to name him Isaiah which means the Lord Saves I called and gave my assistant minister his name and the doctors’ cane in and said look like he’s going to pull through to which I responded there is no look like with God! Anyway UAB trauma surgeons are the best in the country. The surgery took about 41/2 hours. He lost a kidney, his spleen, a piece of his pancreas and has a bullet lodged in his back. First off when I made it to the 9th floor trauma unit Fonda gave me a coffee cake and Laquita continued to take care of me and my family daily! The nurses were heavenly divine. There was Abby Vice my favorite and Abby Hadaway my other favorite, plus Emily, and Shantia my son who relieved me and my son the patient’s favorite along with me. Omg all the nurses were so great. The PCAs’ Jason, Jordon, Brady, Daphne and the rest went above and beyond. As for the doctors’ the Trauma doctors were the best this side of heaven. Dr WAN was so kind and friendly. He explained my son’s condition very well as did Dr. Frutata and Dr Wu who discharged him today! Dr Amini made a great impression on me as well and Dr Weiner. They are exceptional and do their jobs in a manner consistent with excellence. I’m proud to have known them! I wish them continued blessings in order to continue to help others’ in their professional journey!💙🔥💙🔥💙🙏🏿

I'm have been going to this clinic off and on for many years.I can honestly say the reason myself leaving the clinic has nothing to do with uncaring staff from the intake service to the counselor's, nurse's, Doctors,Directore,Etc...Its an open door clinic meaning I can talk to anyone who's door is open if my assigned counselor is not available at that time. I need to leave or return the door
is always open with no negative remarks.

Birmingham, AL | Located in Odenville, Alabama, Impact Recovery Center- Birmingham offers alcohol and drug rehab treatment to men and women. They provide residential and outpatient treatment services based on the 12 Steps. Impact Recovery Center- Birmingham offers spiritually-based programming for individuals struggling with addiction. Services include: Residentia | Treatments Programs Payment Options | Impact truly saved my life. When I arrived, I was broken, lost, and carrying years of pain, shame, and addiction. What I found wasn’t just a program—it was a fellowship and a spiritual foundation that helped rebuild me from the inside out.
Colby, Shwartz, Tanner, and Moody helped me in ways no other staff ever had, even after two previous programs and relapses. Their guidance, honesty, and presence made all the difference.
The clinical team—Kathleen and Emily—were the other half of why Impact works so well. Emily’s French Bulldog, Fudge, and especially Kathleen’s therapeutic horse farm, Samsons Strength Veterans Project, which I was fortunate to visit twice during my stay, were incredible gifts that added so much healing to my experience.
The staff here don’t just “show up”—they lead with accountability, authenticity, and real-life experience that makes you feel truly seen and understood. The structure, the spiritual focus, and the honest conversations pushed me in ways I didn’t know I needed, and they filled the gaps I had been searching for.
Impact gave me clarity, purpose, and real tools to stay sober and actually live—not just survive. I’m grateful every single day for what this place poured into me. If you’re struggling and looking for true change, Impact will meet you where you’re at and help you grow into the person you were meant to be.
They didn’t just help me recover… they helped me reclaim my life.
I didn’t get to know Adams, the owner, very well, but hearing his Mother speak about his addiction changed me. I couldn’t help but picture my own mother telling a room full of men my story—with tears in her eyes—because I had finally made it. That moment hit me hard and stayed with me.
Addiction is life or death. I wouldn’t have spend the time writing this review if they hadn’t saved mine.

Birmingham, AL | Alsana is located in Birmingham, Alabama. This is a dual diagnosis treatment facility. I was thankful that I had a SCA approved by insurance so I would never be able to go back with my insurance/being out of state.
I was in treatment from Jan. 2025 until October of 2025 going through all levels of care offered. I came out of a college environment doing online treatment through Within Health. So this was a complete 360 for me. I think a person’s experience truly depends on when they were there. This is because the biggest concern that my insurance even noted is the staff over turn. Specifically in Direct Care Staff (DCS). During my time there, there was also a transition with at least one RD, and a handful of therapists who did not stay. I truly believe as some were for personal reasons and others for because of how Alsana was. The supervision and quality of care from DCS was very poor during my months of Res specifically from Night time staff. This was my first 8 weeks. Staff did eventually get fired or quit but it took a long time. Leadership was always messy and something I did not get to see figured out.
This cannot be controlled but sometimes the group of clients you are with (the milieu) can make it or break it“. During my time I made a solid group of friends and we became tight. Of course as people came and went it changed. Many friends I am still in contact with today. You are not gonna jam with everyone you meet. Everyone is going through the unspoken so you really have to be determined to recover in any level. Although you can ACA, you are not forced to stay.
During my time DCS Alden, Mya (not spelled that way), Tiffany, Demetria, Zoe were phenomenal. The nursing staff was great and made sure I always got what I needed. Deb, Brooke, Alex, Michelle, Sylvia… You rock!! What pushes my rating on this place is the quality of care from my therapists and RD’s. Working with one team in Residential and one team in PHP/IOP. Kimberly Ward, Callie Mauldin, Lia Puzzo (temporary/left), Kaitlyn Martin/Weldy were my main people. Because of my past I clicked really well with Kim and she truly changed my life. Alsana is really open to you leaning into your faith and welcomes it. If you also do not follow a religion or different spiritual beliefs it is not brought up. It was something I spoke up about and integrated into my sessions. The Psychiatrists that they had when I left was great!
The website does need to be updated and changed as the inside has. No complaints about quality of beds! Just be prepared it is cold. Main Rooms have been flopped and needed revamping when I left . I stay in touch by email with my team when I can and went straight into having a full OP team. Psych, RD, and Therapist.
Treatment is like college. There is different options because not every place is gonna be a good fit. I mean, when it comes to treatment it should be. The healthcare system itself needs much help.
Keep it real, I want to know other peoples experiences as well.
