Methadone clinics get a bad reputation due to outdated stigmas surrounding opiate addiction and Medication Assisted Treatment, as well as the fact that many opiate addicts have co-occurring mental health and trauma disorders they are coping with that make treatment complicated. It's not an easy community to treat. It takes special people with a high capacity for compassion and patience. Everyone at the clinic is very helpful ,hopeful, and I get to feeling that they genuinely care about helping curve addiction in our community. 10/26/25 still using this same clinic, sterling is no longer there . Vick is my counselor now and he's awesome. He doesn't rush and takes the time to talk with me for as long as I need . This place saved my life literally. If you need help and have been unsuccessful at treatment several times please do yourself a favor and get to a clinic who offers out patient therapy. I'd never heard of methadone and a friend told me about it. I was in denial and had spent so much money and time finding drugs. My whole existence depended on getting my pills. Lots of freedom (if you're not feeling well you can go back to your room to rest as nobody is forced to do anything they don't want to do). The doctors are friendly, the nurses are caring. They obviously need help and weren't willing to try and let the staff help them. The "It's like a prison" references always stem from people who simply want to be home and don't want any help at all, otherwise any place else seems like a prison to them.
