I couldn’t recommend this place more. Bluff saved my life. The staff are incredible, and with most of them being in recovery as well there is no judgement and it is very easy to relate with them!

You have to find your rock bottom, most of the time, to come to the harsh reality that you need to seek treatment- but there is so much light and growth during that journey. The Bluff completely transforms you once you come to accept this. From the large, Southern main house to the small dormitory cabins behind it, The Bluff is a wooded retreat that removes all distractions to allow you to focus on YOU and your recovery. The staff was incredible (Tommy, Rose, Tori, Hillary, John, Allison, Noah, Claire - specifically) and the culinary team was out of this world (Dorothy, Susan, and Knox)… I think I gained weight while I was there because everything was so, so delicious, all prepared with love. Don’t miss the sunrises, trust you will meet incredible fellow patients from all walks of life, and know that you will find the best version of yourself if you trust the process. Thank you, The Bluff, for everything!

If you are truly ready to get sober, this is where you go. Getting started here was completely effortless: I just walked through the door, introduced myself, completed my intake to see if I was a good fit, and started treatment the very next day. Having experienced recovery as both a client and a staff member at other facilities, I can confidently say the recovery inside these walls is on another level. The staff don’t just work here—they are living proof that real, incredible recovery is possible. They openly share their own stories, bringing a level of honesty and lived experience that creates immediate trust. As addicts and alcoholics, we need to see that real transformation before we open up, and these people have what you want. That sense of community extends way beyond the program. Every Friday, staff and alumni from years past gather for a group dinner and head to a speaker meeting together, so no one ever has to walk in alone. They even offer support classes for loved ones, led by someone who understands the family side of addiction firsthand. The staff care with every fiber of their being, and they show you exactly how to build a life worth staying sober for. Easily 10/10.

I was treated like a person and not a case file — met with patience and genuine kindness at a point when I didn't have much of either for myself. Nancy & Michelle, their nurses, have a way of making you feel cared for before you've said much of anything. Nancy also does a fantastic job with their family program. Scott and Lyndsey were the counselors who wouldn't let me get away with the easy version of my story, and I'm grateful for it. Blake's work as a therapist got underneath the surface stuff. And Jessica sets a tone from leadership that you can feel in every room — that culture doesn't happen by accident. The kindness isn't a substitute for substance, either. The program is built on a real recovery foundation: honest group work, individual counseling that doesn't let you hide, and a clear connection to the 12-step community outside the building. They don't just get you stable and send you off — the family piece and the aftercare meant the support kept going after the program ended. Augusta is fortunate to have them. If you or someone you love is looking for a place to start, start here.

Amazing staff. Yes, they are over worked and short staffed (thanks to that stupid Elon). But you can visibly see the effort they put in every day. Getting appointed can take time, because they are short staffed. Once you get rolling with a department, you are good to go. It’s a matter of them starting you in their system that takes time, as it is with most government agencies. The people are the friendly and professional, even to vets that show up and are clearly intoxicated (that was a sight).

I would like to express my deepest appreciation and heartfelt gratitude to Brenda (Shari) Williams, VA Nurse Navigator for Pain Management, and Lisa Parker, VA Nurse Practitioner and Lead for Pain Management, for the extraordinary care, dedication, and persistence they showed on my behalf. As well as, Ryan Kalkbrenner, who introduced them to “Walkasins”! They truly went above and beyond every expectation. When others may have stopped trying, they refused to give up on a veteran who desperately needed help. Because of severe Peripheral Neuropathy, I had lost the ability to properly feel my feet, which caused me to experience many falls over the past five years. Through their determination, compassion, and willingness to go through every possible avenue, they “cracked the code” and helped me obtain “Walkasins”. Thanks to their efforts, I can now feel my feet as I walk. The improvement has been nothing short of life-changing. This has truly been a miracle and an incredible blessing. Their commitment to helping veterans, their professionalism, and their genuine compassion are an inspiration. Brenda (Shari) Williams and Lisa Parker exemplify the very best of the VA, and I will always be grateful for the difference they have made in my life. Please recognize them for their outstanding service and unwavering dedication to all of our veterans. They have made a profound impact on my safety, independence, and quality of life.

Would recommend their services to anyone seeking serious assistance with substance abuse. BHAs and Nursing staff were excellent and took care of my needs in a timely manner. Counselors were great. Each use different styles of communication to help the clients. This balance is great to get information across to the vast personalities that need help. The curriculum is able to be disseminated in a variety of methods for persons who learn better artistically, socially, or analytically. You get assigned in groups where those methods will work best for you. Food was better than expected and snacks were always available for your consumption. What knocks a star off the score is transparency on costs. This seems to be slightly predatory for people not having their mental faculties firing at full steam. Serious work needs to be done there. Overall it was a great experience for myself and I learned methods to keep my sobriety long term. Plan on returning for many alumni events in the future. One day at a time.

Before this director there have been times where the wait was over 5 hours! It no longer is like that, she's very nice, the counselors I have encountered are also nice and tend to help. I give the current staff a ton of credit, dealing with really difficult patients and fixing the wait time issues, It's not perfect. Best place I’ve been to. Nurses are chill. I loved Mr.Glenn and Mrs.Jennifer. They are the most understanding, chillest people i’ve ever interacted with . I made some mistakes while here and they won’t yell at you or make you feel bad, they were really understanding. Food is amazing! You go outside, are allowed to play xbox (they have provided), watch tv and they have good groups. You also have plenty of time to do school work. People fail to realize other people can only help you so much and you have to help yourself as well. You can’t rely on others to solve all your problems which I feel is why people give bad reviews. I do wish we were allowed to bring more clothing choices but no biggie!

After numerous hospitalizations and 4 prior treatment centers, Rivermend Health's Bluff Plantation in Augusta was a vital turning point in our son's life. Staff and programs are refreshing and hands down more effective, holistic, professional, communicative, and involved than any others. They passionately work with patients and families to change lives. The follow through with support programs for depression and substance abuse is unprecedented in 10 years of struggle. Please take the time to hear my story that went from the tragic loss of my counselor ending with resilience, strength, and triumph, as I successfully completed the course. LRADAC’s Outpatient Program was absolutely amazing and truly helped me change my life. From the beginning, Brooke, who placed me in the class that was the perfect fit, showed genuine care and understanding that set the tone for everything that followed. My counselor, Arianna, was beyond incredible. Everyone in my class would agree she was made for this work. She poured her heart into helping us and genuinely loved what she did. She had recently gotten married and was starting a new chapter in her life....Then, in a moment that shattered us all, we walked into class one day and were told the devastating news: Arianna had been murdered by her husband, who then took his own life. The pain was unimaginable. Continuing the program without her felt impossible—but we knew Arianna would have wanted us to push forward. And with the strength of our group, and the incredible support from the staff, we did just that. A special thank you to Casey, our life coach, whose dedication and encouragement helped carry us through such a dark time. This program works. The people at LRADAC care deeply, and I will never forget what they did for me—or the amazing spirit of Arianna. If you’re considering getting help, give this place a chance. It might just save your life.

Not sure how they bill, but I know in Nashville they tell you the contract says one thing, when it says something else. Aiken BHG was on top of their assignments and did a great job. Wish I could give the Aiken location more than 5 stars!!

The staff here were absolutely amazing. They truly cared about my needs and made me feel important. I do feel like it would have been beneficial to have more one on one time with a therapist or social worker while there, but I know resources are limited. As well as please stop slamming that door ALL night in Unit Two. 😅 Two people that stood out to me were one of my nurses Christy and my social worker Jerry they were both extremely attentive and caring, my social worker took the time out of her busy schedule to make sure I felt cared about and understood. Overall this place made a very positive impact in my life, thank you!

I’ve been through it all growing up around alcoholism and watching friends and family members die from addiction! I started using drugs at a very early age and eventually got into some pretty heavy stuff! After countless arrests and surviving too many to count overdoses I finally found the way to true freedom!!! Uturn for Christ is not a rehab so you don’t get the “oh sweetheart it’s okay” or the “take this pill it will help” but what you do get is THE WAY! By building my relationship with the Lord I have found a way to be happy without needing drugs or alcohol! I have found a way to be someone people can trust and have rebuilt a relationship with family! I’ve learned to make better decisions about who I associate with, I’ve learned how to love and be loved and how to be the man God wants me to be! I am forever grateful to have a place that corrects the root of my problems not just putting a bandaid on the surface!
