I just did my 28 day treatment and I loved every minute I was there. The counselors (especially Tony, Beth, Kendra and Krista) are wonderful, the techs, the nursing staff, everyone was so kind and helpful. It is the greatest place I never want to go to again!!

I have not been through drug rehab nor do I think that I need it? I do think that this facility is helpful I feel like the psychologists are down to earth and understanding, especially the 20+ year psychologists. They are so good that they don't have to take notes; while you are in a session. Makes it feel like you're just talking with your girlfriend, very calming.
It was court ordered that I took mandatory counseling when I was a teenager. I feel bad for my counseler, because of my demeanor, being a immature teenager. I worry she felt like our sessions were unproductive and a waste of her time.
The facility and Yankton is a little bit more tucked away it's in between the prison and Broadway street. It's not on a main road. The facility in Vermillion, South Dakota is right on Main Street. In front of the court house you cannot miss it.

I have been thru here. When it was located at old building. In 1997-98 ish. It helped me to a certain point, things there showed me that the REZ life isn't the only thing in life. When I became a Christian and I read books by people who overcame great struggles, poverty and broken homes to become successful and productive citizens in society. The time I spent at Valley Hope of O'Neil was pretty awesome. It is where the foundation of my sobriety began. Everybody from the administration, the nurses, the chaplains, the kitchen staff, and the maintenance were kind, caring, and attentive to the needs of the patients. I can't thank them enough. I found a amazing support system with other patients that I still talk to and am apart of the Valley Hope Alumni. If anybody is suffering from addiction and needs help I recommend this facility.

I attended Valley Hope in O’Neill, NE from 9/23/25 to 10/24/25 for alcohol treatment, & had never been in treatment before. It was really hard for me to admit that I needed the help, but I am very happy that I went. The hardest part of treatment is walking through the door. Once I detoxed, I began attending workshops & meeting with counselors & my chaplain. You get out of this what you are willing to put into it. I learned quite a bit about my addiction, and gained tools to keep me sober in the future. Before I was discharged, the staff helped me develop an after care plan. They found an A.A. group close to me, & helped me contact a therapist. I found working with my counselor and my chaplain to be very helpful. I was able to reconnect with my faith during my stay as well. I found a great deal of peace in the on site chapel. I would highly recommend Valley Hope to anyone who is serious about getting sober and staying sober. I have also been able to stay in contact with some friends that I made while attending. It is wonderful having friends that have been through treatment, & have the same goal of staying sober.

This the best treatment center I have ever been too. I highly recommend it. I have been to other places and this one is amazing. The staff, nurses and everyone are genuine and they care about you. They have a really beautiful chapel and spiritual meeting every morning. You don't have to wait on your medications and the food is really good. You also get to keep your phone which is very important in my opinion. So happy with my experience there.

The programming is second to none (with one exception) and the counseling staff are direct and honest. Do not expect anything to be sugar coated. You will not be treated with kid gloves, but you will be respected.
The facility, on the other hand, is a step away from being condemned. The heating system is in desperate need of repair and the maintenance staff is not qualified to do the work. They also have a huge problem with bed bugs.

I highly recommend if you are struggling with addiction to opiates/heroin. If you want to change your life around don't hesitate The doctor is amazing and listens. The Nurses are so sweet. I'm going to miss one of the Nurses it's her last day. Also the counselors are all great people. I enjoy going talking to my counselor.

I was treated for depression, PTSD, and alcoholism while I was at Avera Behavioral health. The staff were excellent for how understaffed they were. They tried to give patients equal attention as best they could however, there were some more acute patients that needed more attention. Being inside an "institution" is never fun however they tried their best. There is a gorgeous Koi pond area that you can walk around during spring and summer and a gym. Those are both scheduled things. The whole day is usually scheduled out with group therapy and individual sessions too

Beau, Fry in the OBGYN he also works amazing with kids . When I was pregnant he always made sure my mind was always at ease and make sure everything is fine. For my kids he always goes far to make sure everything is fine and he also looks at everything that may could be wrong. Healing began at the well for me back in 2015 when I did inpatient treatment. Then outpatient therapy in 2019, 2020, 2022, 2023 & 2024. My life is forever changed and the counselors helped me with my BPD diagnosis. Thankfully they have therapists who specialzie in BPD. Now I'm grateful to be working at an amazing place that I can truly call a home.❤️
