1st Mrs Ruth is a treasure! 2nd I miss Mrs Dawn! 3rd today Dr Obi-Ofodalae (sp... Sorry doc I tried to remember how it was actually spelt and not the phenetic spelling) took a whole hour helping navigate the VA system to help me get to where I need to go, or so we can figure out what is going on. He listened to everything I had to say and the X-rays were done in office the same day.
Yes the VA as a whole is broken, but my experience today was positive and we can't have nice things at this clinic specifically if we don't let it known that this staff is getting it done. We have to make ourselves heard when it is good just as much as when it is bad. So thank you all for today!

taylor recovery is the best! I came in and despite acting sort of out of control for a while, i was treated kindly and patiently by the staff and was able to detox and recover incredibly peacefully!
The facility is clean and the food is delicious (thanks chef john and mark!) the beds are comfortable and the rooms have tvs. we there are a variety of great counselors who are patient and yet persistent in leading you to a better self.

I came into Skyward treatment alone, lost, and completely broken. Not only was the entry process easy, but the ENTIRE staff went above and beyond to help me get there. I was warmly greeted by the techs the night I came in, terrified and so very nervous, they made me feel right at home. I had the privilege of meeting the manager Stephanie the next day and she warmly greeted me with a huge hug and open arms. I knew I was in the right place and would be safe. This place not only saved my life, but it CHANGED me as a person. The one-on-one counseling, along with their therapeutic way of treatment (CBT) was EXACTLY what I needed to begin my sober journey. My time there was not very easy on my mind and body, but the entire team came together on multiple occasions to make sure all my needs were met and I was given the best care possible for the 60 days that I was there. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend this place to anyone struggling with the dual diagnosis of mental health and substance abuse. Dawn, the NP is amazing. Thank you Jacob, Stephanie, Kat, Eric, all of the nursing staff, counselors, and also every tech! You all are AMAZING. The work this place puts in, in order to help people get clean and healthy again is beyond admirable. If you're looking for change, and a new start at life, Skyward is the place to go. This place was truly a life saver!! They stopped what they were doing twice within 3 weeks to come rescue me from myself over an hour and a half away. My dad has struggled with drug addiction for 25+ years. He recently had a massive heart attack due to drug use and his situation was becoming dire. We knew if he didn't get help he wasn't going to make it much longer. He finally agreed to get treatment and my sister found this place. He went from not wanting to go to rehab to not wanting to leave this place. He absolutely loved it and loves everyone there. He considers them family. He completed his treatment and the staff is still there to offer him support and help him succeed. Andy has been amazing at helping him find out patient programs. They truly care here. They deserve more than 5 stars.

I’ve Known Of Montrose Counseling/Community Center since Summer of 1995. During That Time MCC was located on Richmond Avenue in a beautiful but smaller building than they’re in now. My first Therapist was Lee Willis a phenomenal therapist for anyone living with gender dysphoria. Since then I’ve had sporadic experiences at MCC from 1995 till 2008. However, when I move back to Houston in 2008 I started going To MCC consistently especially after 2009. I’ve had some wonderful case managers and therapist from Mandy Lloyd in 2009 till Daniel Perez now. I can honestly say there’re people who work at MCC who authentically care about the LGBTQ+ community of Houston very much, and those same people are willing to provide exceptional services for anyone regardless of their sexual orientation, gender, religion, or race to me that’s commendable.
I lost my Therapist/ Friend Mike Ator in November Of last year 11-04-24 was the day I was told he had passed away, and that news shook me to my core it was devastating heartbreaking news. I miss him greatly and that’s the kind of people that work at MCC phenomenal people who truly care and reaffirm to their clients they matter. In closing, I wholeheartedly recommend MCC to anyone who seeking services like Mental Wellness, Community groups to network, groups that meet to discuss life’s challenges, and helping people who are apart of the LGBTQ+ community by reaffirming the fact YOU MATTER 🤗 I Sincerely And Unequivocally give MCC Five Stars For being a lighthouse In Dark Times Thank You ☺️ GOD Bless 🙏🏾 !!!!!!

You get out what you put in. This place was literally life changing for me. Private rooms, you're assigned a team based on individual patients needs of a psychiatrist, individual therapist, and social worker, the grounds are gorgeous, the groups are run by people who are very good in their fields (like they have doctorates and some are even univeristy professors), the cafeteria does not suck and there are plenty of options (even multiple options for vegetarians and vegans), you can apply for different levels of responsibility (like how much trust staff can give you, you can get to the point where you can leave the unit alone and go for a walk), they give you an assigned private phone and MP3 player, the staff actually appears to enjoy their jobs, you are given resources for all of your needs. BUT you have to be willing to put in the work. They cant fix your problems for you. They cant make you contact your family, they cant make you take your medication, they cant make you go to group; you have to do that for yourself. It may be expensive, but you get your money's worth IF you put in the effort. But you have to want it. No one can do that part for you, but they will give you every resource they can, and will advocate for you tooth and nail with insurance. Of course theres other reviews of "this place is horrid" because its literally a psychiatric facility, not everyone there is going to have a good time. If youre ready to change your life for the better and dedicate yourself to doing so, they will with open arms be ready to help you. Please consider this option. I wasn't there for long, but I can see the good this place does for people. I left due to inner conflictions of faith, but that wouldn't be the case with the vast majority of people who come here. I would recommend to 99% of people who have addiction issues, as this place is a hidden haven for those who need it the most. I appreciated a lot of the staff. The fact that all of them used to go here at one point gives another element that adds to the success of this place. Appreciate the willingness to help and to accept anyone no matter who they are. I went through the Bay Area Recovery Center, and it completely changed my life. After getting a DUI, I was required to go through this program to keep my job — but it turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to me.
I’ve now been clean and sober for almost 10 months. The staff truly care and helped me believe in myself again. A huge thank you to Mr. Billy and Blake and everyone there for guiding me through my recovery.
My DUI was recently dismissed, and I believe it’s because God saw the change in me. My wife and kids thank you too — you didn’t just help me, you helped restore my family. If you’re struggling, I highly recommend this program. It gave me my life back.

A few months ago I went into Anaphylactic shock; we rushed to this hospital and man! From the front desk clerk to the doctor himself- the entire staff were quick, professional and overall just awesome! They calmed me down, helped me right away and were overall just nice. uhm i don’t really leave reviews as you can tell i made this fake account for food reviews. but i just can’t see this place being so badly rated. i can go on and on about a lot of horrible treatment from other hospitals i’ve been through. and although i can’t remember the first time i was here, i’ll definitely will remember the last time. i had turned 18 in there and was moved into the adult unit. and the staff helped me feel so much better than i ever did in that time of my life. i had gotten a cake, was sung to, and felt so much love and care from the staff and patients. i’m not sure but i think i met the man who owned this place. he immediately helped me calm down and showed immense care for me even though i was being erratic bc i had to be near said abuser who only came to steal my belongings from the police. but idc that place made me feel safe. safer than i ever been before. even if it was just for a week. also they had the best chefs there. never seen a place put so much love and effort into the food the patients were getting. <3

It's been a few years since I've been to this place, it was a required outpatient program that I had to do for a legal matter. There were different options on time slots, the classes weren't too big where you'd get anxiety, but they were big enough and diversified enough where I felt comfortable sharing. Even though I did not want to be there, and I made it perfectly clear from the get-go, the staff was super kind and put up with all my BS with a smile! Admissions was extremely easy and if I remember correctly either the state or Medicaid covered the cost. For a cheaper outpatient option, this was one of the better ones I have been to. Overall a pretty decent experience for a rehab facility!

Went here when i was 16 around 2016, i will tell you this, this place will challenge your way of thinking. It was hard sometimes, people dont want to listen and its easy to succumb to negative influences, but these people here genuinely care about the kids they look after. I got to know alot on a personal level and alot of them had been through alot of the same stuff i had been through and could relate. I will say this as someone who has been through alot, you want someone who can relate to you when it comes to a rehabilitation situation. Its easier to trust someone when you know they can feel that pain too. Dont listen to all these lame people giving one stars, none of them know what they're talking about. The councilors and tech staff genuinely want to see these kids do good. They helped me see i had a problem and it isnt right that people want to bash them when they have done so much for me and my peers from that time in my life. If any of you guys see this i love yall and hope yall are doing good. Especially you Ms Haynes and mr Colbert!

I spent almost 6 months here back in 2015-16. I'm 22 now. Mr Wyllie, Ms Wendy, Mr Omar, Mr Antwuan, Mr E , Mr Aladin , all great people. I think about them, my fellow brothers and this place often. My counselor Mr Robinson was awesome as well. They fed us great, we went on trips and before I left we went to the U of H for an anniversary party and it was some o the best memories of my life. they were strict but we were still able to have fun. They looked out and cared about us. I was hard headed and didn't want to listen and I all these years later it hits me.
