I came to StraightWay in 1988. I had ruined my life and nearly died because of addiction. After a lengthy hospital stay, my pastor referred me to StraightWay. Even though I had lost all hope of ever being anything but a junkie, I got what I desperately needed most: a second chance - and people who were willing to invest their time, and even their very lives to show me what it means to follow Jesus Christ and to live my life for Him. To date, I am going on 30 years of being not only drug free, but being a happy and productive member of the community where I live. My husband and I have three beautiful children and have been married for 22 years this year. My relationship to my adult children and my family has been restored, something I had once thought impossible. I'm so grateful that StraightWay was here when I was in need. I cannot imagine where I would be today if not for this place.

The Orchard changed my life! Between the staff, counselors, and management there unified goal is something I have never seen! From the minute you arrive you are greeted with hellos, smiles, and staff focused solely on you and your recovery. With accomodations similar to a 5 star resort you won't find another facility that pays attention to the little details. Lastly, what I believe makes The Orchard the best in the country....is there program. While learning about addiction, Counselors work with you to address the underlying issues that started you down your addiction journey. I was able to tackle years of trauma and unspoken issues that once addressed freed me from the shackles of addiction. I was in Great oaks for 30 days because I was addicted to methadone and more. Great oaks saved my life after 25 years of being scared of going through withdrawals I finally just got so tired of having to have meds to function. So if anyone is going through this please don't struggle alone the people at great oaks are some of the greatest people I have ever met,I have made life long friends in there and we still share a group chat till this day. Going through withdrawals is not bad there they give you meds to help detox and they make it fun. BEST DECISION OF MY LIFE. I'm over 6 months sober❤️🙏🏼take your life back!

I want to thank everyone that cared for me during my hospital stay. From ER to ICU the nurse Kyleigh and Cathrine gave 110%, they are true nurses and I thank God for them, along with the 5th floor staff who was very caring. I want to send special recognition to Oakbend Cardiaologist, Dr. Malik, he is the one that notice something was wrong. He insisted that I needed to go to ER. He got a wheelchair and took me to ER and made sure I got in the room and spoke with the ER Dr. and let him know what he had notice with me. He went above and beyond what others would have expected him to do. I thank God for sending Dr. Malik my way that day. I know I have said it so many time. But I'll say it again I thank God for Dr. Malik.

A few months ago I went into Anaphylactic shock; we rushed to this hospital and man! From the front desk clerk to the doctor himself- the entire staff were quick, professional and overall just awesome! They calmed me down, helped me right away and were overall just nice. I went in to give blood prior to my appointment and was in and out rather quickly. Went in a week later for my afternoon Doctor appointment and was in and out within an hour. Dr Chandy was very thorough and friendy, as was the staff. I was quite surprised given the 3.5 reviews I read previous to my appointment, however, I don't like to assume anything without experiencing it for myself. The only thing I didn't like was waiting over a month for my appointment, but to be fair, I've also had very long wait times in the private sector, some close to two months.

Fulshear saved my life—twice.
I first went to Fulshear in 2021 after moving to Texas. I gained the tools I needed to manage my mental health and really found healing there. One of the most impactful parts of my experience was equine therapy. I was a barn manager and caring for the horses gave me a deep sense of purpose. I also made connections that I still carry with me today.
In 2024, I returned to Fulshear when I was struggling with substance use. I knew it was the place I needed to go, and once again, it changed my life. My therapist, Courtney Deadman, is the best therapist I have ever worked with. She’s inclusive, compassionate, and truly gifted at what she does. The family work we did together completely transformed my relationship with my parents—I’ve never communicated with them so well. Courtney held my light when I couldn’t, and now I can hold it proudly on my own.
The rest of the clinical team—especially Micah and Injila—also made a huge impact. They led powerful groups and always made me feel seen and supported. The entire staff is truly exceptional.
I also want to shout out the admissions team—Helaine is my hero. She supported me with so much care and compassion, and even checked in on me after I left treatment. She and her daughter Della are an amazing team and two of the most genuine, kindhearted people I’ve ever met. I’m beyond grateful for them.
If you’re looking for a place that can truly help you heal, grow, and take back your life, I cannot recommend OPI Houston enough!!! Best of luck on your journey!

I came into the ranch broken lost and hurting. I had a lot of trauma from my childhood and my young adulthood that I never processed. As a result I was struggling with addiction, depression anxiety, you name it. Before the ranch I was use to abusive relationships, codependency, homelessness and isolation. I spent 3 months on the ranch and completely transformed my life. It was a lot of hard work. And I honestly wanted to change my life. I knew I was not living the life I was meant to live. I have nothing but good things to say about Fulshear. The staff is amazing and I believe in the program. Since Fulshear I am now 10 months sober. I live in a safe home and I'm able to have healthy relationships. I am back to working and even won employee of the month. I still continue with working with a therapist, which I will probably always continue to do in my life. It's a life long journey. But I was able to start and gain tools to start my healing and new life. I even found good friends at treatment that I still stay in touch with and we continue to love and support each other to this day. Fulshear will always hold a special place in my heart.

The odyssey home is where you come and get away from everything so you can better yourself. you may not like it all while your in there but deep down you know it’s doing you better mentally and physically and showing you how strong you can be when you finish the program all the staff are great people just have the same respect you would want towards you. Everyone isn’t gonna have a perfect day every single day but you gotta focus on why your there and what you need to do so you can go back home and spent time with your family cause when you in there you start thinking about all the stuff yoh missed out with your family and how much of a privilege it is to have your family around but you don’t notice that till your in there and see how much time you been playing with your life there is a privilege for you to become great within yourself you just have to put the work in and show your family that you can make a change for once in your life. Even the techs were so helpful n friendly i went in on 7-23-23 everything was good towards the end i got a couch how lucky was i to get couch AUTUMN ha she talked about my pants not being fancy enough for community saying i wasnt serious that I don’t want to b sober ( hint I was in rehab willingly) n basically ignored me wouldn’t help me get help with anything literally SHE DID NOTHING for me n the day I graduated im all proud n happy she walks up to me says “ im not gunna b ur couch, u don’t want this ur no hope bye “ I told the lady in charge she said “ she has to it’s to late , o well just go ask another couch “ other couches had already left or said they were full so while Santa Maria was great couch AUTUMN shouldn’t b a couch if that’s how she thinks while Santa Maria was setting me up for greatness the one person that’s supposed to b ur support on the outside tryed to set me up for failure n Santa Maria as a whole don’t need her mentality in a place like that ur supposed to couch help not tear us down

I enrolled as a patient at New Dimensions with no prior experience with iop. I called all around Houston and I gave this center a chance because they were the first ones to pick up the phone with a sense of compassion in their voices. I am an adult in my late 20s with alcohol and substance abuse history and I have ptsd from past traumas in my life as well as severe manic depression. My life had gotten to a place of complete unmanageability. I was scared that my diseases would eventually cause my inevitable death and I did not know any of the tools I needed to be a healthy functioning adult. All of that slowly and subtly started to change and improve because of the professional guidance I received from ALL of my therapists and counselors there. I learned how to replace bad habits with healthy ones and I choose my well being over the things that I can't change on a daily basis, one day at a time. I will always feel a sense of gratitude to this facility.

Positive Recovery is a game changer. I've been on my own recovery road for years by myself but l've never been able to connect all the pieces to stay sober. PRC provided me with tools I could use on a day to day basis that help me through life's situations as they come. Glenn, one of the counselors at the Cinco Ranch location, is very insightful and actually in recovery himself. He could relate to what I've been through and what I go through daily. He taught me about what my brain is going through and actually backs it up with scientific studies and evidence. I am excited about my future today. Like I said PRC is a game changer.

I've been to a bunch of rehab centers over the years—some were decent, and others left a lot to be desired. At the Cinco Ranch location, Glenn completely redefined my experience. His approach is genuinely refreshing—he creates a safe, welcoming space that makes you actually look forward to coming back.
I remember my first Monday group session; it was impressive to see a mix of people, including some who've been attending for months. One person even mentioned they drive over 40 miles just to be part of the group! Glenn’s unique style is not only engaging and fun, but it also provides practical, real-life insights that go far beyond just staying sober. His sessions taught me valuable lessons about life, renewing my passion and hope for the future.

This place was truly a life saver!! They stopped what they were doing twice within 3 weeks to come rescue me from myself over an hour and a half away. The staff is amazing and really care about your state of well-being. They don't care if you like them, they care if you live and that's the most comforting thing about this place. My dad has struggled with drug addiction for 25+ years. He recently had a massive heart attack due to drug use and his situation was becoming dire. We knew if he didn't get help he wasn't going to make it much longer. He finally agreed to get treatment and my sister found this place. He went from not wanting to go to rehab to not wanting to leave this place. He absolutely loved it and loves everyone there. He considers them family. He completed his treatment and the staff is still there to offer him support and help him succeed. Andy has been amazing at helping him find out patient programs. They truly care here. They deserve more than 5 stars.

This was the best decision I could have made for my mental wellness. Everyone has life issues and experiences. Sometimes you don’t know you need professional help until you’re in the middle of it. Well I was. I am blessed to have a support system who was on board for my self care.
I researched various IOPs/PHPs that my psychiatrist suggested. The Heights Treatment sounded like the best fit for me. Based on reviews and researching the area, solidified my choice to start treatment there. So I did.
From the intake for IOP5, to individual therapy sessions, to group sessions including equine therapy, to individual sessions with Dr. R, was well thought out to get this group of professionals to help people. The one who held it together with scheduling to communicating to even listening for a couple of minutes in passing, was truly a blessing. Their client care services, Adam, is kind and professional. They all make you feel welcome.
Bre - my therapist, help tremendously. Various group sessions, helped me realize so much. They gave me the tools to help me reach my goals. They helped me choose to do the work. Be it daily checking in, verbalizing my emotion at the time, concerns, etc, these are the things for me, that were so beneficial in my mental wellness.

Heights Treatment was a Godsend and it saved my life. I love how unique each therapist is. They have a wide variety of therapies including equine therapy, emdr, trauma processing, as well as individual and group therapy. Scheduling was easy, the staff was kind and were always available for me when I needed to talk. Not only have I come to living life, but they've given me a toolkit on how to navigate life and live it to the fullest.

This place have gave me so much to hope for due to the staff Ms.jasmine, Mr>derrick, Ms.talisha, my counclor Ms.rachel and many more of the staff. The love each of these people have for the patients and care its unexplainable. coming from using hard drugs and not having a sense of care for myself and to walk thru these doors and the arms are open to love you till you can love yourself is amazing, me going back out and relapsing and scared to come back but when I thought about the staff and how much love the gave me I was ready to walk back in the doors and now I feel so much stronger because how much they have put so much love in me again. I'm forever grateful for this place and I always tell others who suffer from addiction that this is where I found myself again, and many found the same from their experience also. I want to give attention and praise to the in patient spinal cord injury medical team at the Michael E. DeBakey VA medical Center. My brother in law is a patient there and my husband and I visited him for the first time this week, as we are from out of town. The staff, and I mean everyone, are not only excellently skilled, but they are incredibly caring and sympathetic to the patient's needs while exhibiting the highest standards of patient care. They enter another person's story where a life altering incident has occurred and fear, uncertainty, and anxiety have taken over. They handle the lives they care for with compassion and instill hope which is badly needed. They do this with the grace of love and joy. My brother in law laughs everyday and truly values the connections he has with each and every member of his care team. And that is PRICELESS!! Not to mention the care and support that, again, each and every care team member extends to my sister in law. They understand that the hearts closest to each patient are scared and hurting as well during this uncertain time in their lives. The medical staff care team members in this department truly carry and extend the light of hope. Something so badly needed by their patients. Sending a BIG THANK YOU to you all!!

Someone was lost & an employee asked if they were lost, they said yes. The staff introduced herself by name & said I'm here to HELP. She followed up with directing them in the right direction.
