This facility is caring. The staff listens and the doctors or PA's are incredible. I have been coming here a lot of years. They have not let me down. I really don't know what I would have done without Burke. Probably travelled a lot of miles and not received the help that I needed. My case worker is the BEST. I've been her client for 15 yrs. She has always been there for me. Thank y'all.

Hey! I am so thankful this has been a place of refuge for my socioeconomical and domestic violence problems I have two protective orders on two parties to leave me alone. I have had a past of bad boyfriends and their narcissistic friends who have lied to me and stolen from me and looked past really simple health issues which fogged me up really bad for a long time. I mean I almost died at least once or twice as a young child and have found some really bad deals growing up along the way. Wow! Keeping my own beliefs and trying to keep the enemy away and out of my mind body spirit has not been easy as a middle aged woman.
Burke is alright. I am grateful for them, but I don't like it when they change my appointments when I rely on the city bus or Uber, etc.
No I am not the one too good for the five dollar bus vouchers.
Single mom Cassandra 39.
Where was Longview Square Apartments anyway? While my 1boy and 1 girl ran off!?
Well at 40 I have to admit as a patient there at Burke I honestly had a recent problem with missing an appointment and rescheduling myself, so there is the humanity I have! Today Feb 18, 2022 was a wonderful day to visit Burke, Hearts for the Homeless was there. It is always good to see them. They made me my sugar cookies I love so much ❤️ with colored frosting and sugar sprinkles.

I am amending my review due to consistently better service. They switched me to a different Dr and she has been amazing.
Over the last few months they have If you get assigned to Paige as your provider my advice is to ask for someone else. She not only was very rude and condescending from the very beginning but she also lied to me… stating that there is a new “law” that they have to try patients on the suboxone strips before prescribing subutex…. I called my last provider and she assured me that wasn’t true… I knew it was a lie when she said it but when I told her that those strips don’t work for me and I would really rather just stay with the medication that I have been taking for 5 years…. She said “well I’m not losing my license over you”. She also basically called me a bad parent for giving my child CHILDREN melatonin and told me that it messes up the circadian rhythm… which is not a medical fact. She prescribed me TRAZODONE... Yeah I’m sure trazodone (an antidepressant) is so much healthier for you than a naturally produced hormone. To have a health care provider lie to my face and treat me like I’m stupid then to push her own unsubstantiated opinions on me like she is some actual doctor just shows a level of narcissism that I’m not comfortable with my health care provider possessing. If you decide to go to applegate just make sure you don’t let them stick you with Paige. She is not a pleasant person. I called the main office this morning and am having them switch my provider to someone else. Everyone else was amazing. Laura who is one of the program directors was very sweet and so was the lady at the front desk.

Hi 👋 after seeing all the negative reviews.. I would like to share my experience as a patient myself in this facility. I suffered from depression and alcohol abuse. I was placed in this facility by the emergency room I was at. I did not pick this place as my first choice. Who was I to be picky anyway. I needed help. When I first arrived I was very sick and going through withdrawals. I was a bit terrified because it was a scary place to be in considering you’re in there with other addicts and we all looked like sh** to say the least. But after awhile I got use to it and came to realize they were human just like myself and are actually good people who just were in this same cycle of abuse I was in. I felt like I was going to die in there the first few days because I was so sick from my withdrawals and getting up everyday for checks, meds, meeting with psychologist, counselor, groups, etc was very difficult for me. But I was so thankful for what seemed like help for the first time in my life I wasn’t going to give up. The staff was nice and friendly. There is A LOT going on in there so I can see how a need or two may not be met. You have to realize you’re not dealing with sane individuals in here. You’re dealing with lost souls. That is not easy work. The bathrooms are dungeon like lol but it got the job done. The food was excellent. They had it going on with the meals and snacks. lol they offered cigs and phone calls. We got to go outside and be social. They have a picnic area and a basketball court. They had a living area for movies. Just to name a few. It really wasn’t that bad. Yes I did get put on medication and was doped up but I needed it at that time. Coming off anything causes a lot of anxiety and depression. When I got out I got to talk to my doctor and Psychiatrist about meds and we changed what was needed. While I was there they talked to me about options for long term treatment. But at the time I didn’t want to do a long term treatment center. So they asked different questions and made sure I had somewhere to go when I left. Which was home for me. I lived by myself so they set me up for outpatient care and I had a whole team of people working for me and would come to my house. I was really grateful for the experience. It was eye opening for me. I enjoyed the group therapy classes. It was a great start for my recovery. Although, I ended up relapsing again and again. This place really helped me.
Don’t except your loved ones to come out of here completely brand new. Becoming sober is a long road to recovery. It may take several rehabs and several relapses. It’s all about the will power and mindset. And most definitely the support of professionals. That’s why relying on family alone does not work. We have to let the professionals do their job. Again, I’m thankful for my experience here and I’m almost 2 years sober now. I hope this message finds you well. I do not mean to push any buttons or insult anyone. I’m just sharing my own personal experience. God bless anyone fighting addiction and families who are affected as well. May God be with us all. 🙏

I entered CADA March 30, 2017, I was completely out of hope, and full of despair, the only solution I thought I had was suicide. My drinking, and drug use took me to a place of desperation. I could not stay sober, but I could not quit using. I went 20 plus years of suffering. The only coping mechanism I had, for every emotion, was to change the was I felt with drugs, and alcohol. When I was sad, I used, when I was happy, I used. My life revolved around when I would get my next bottle, or find my next high. I lied, cheated, and stole, whatever it took to get my drug of choice. I destroyed my family, and friends. I was like a hurricane in people I loved lives. I saw only darkness.
In CADA, I learned tools, coping mechanisms, of how to deal with life, on life's terms, without alcohol, and drugs. I gained a new sense of self worth. I started to recover from a disease that had already taken so many I loved, including my mother.
CADA took another chance on me 6 months into my recovery. I was hired as part of the support staff. I continued to learn and grow, in the place that saved my life. Three, and half years later, I am now part of the Peer Support Team, giving back, what was given to me.
One of my favorite quotes is, "It is always darkest before the dawn." CADA gave me my dawn.

CADA offers a treatment solution for almost anyone! It is affordable and very comprehensive in its therapy. My favorite programs at CADA are the adolescent treatment facility, which includes a full time teacher, and the Family program. Women who are pregnant, or have children are welcomed in the family hall. Their children attend public school. Infants and toddlers are cared for while the ladies participate in their groups or counseling sessions. CADA has been a LIFESAVER for hundreds of recovering people!

If this was someone's first exposure to therapy, they'd disregard the entire field of psychology. They constantly made terrible suggestions such as joining the army or quitting my job, and none of them are real doctors. The nurse practitioner also did not contact my psychiatrist about changes to my medication, so I have to get them re-approved. | Kemah Palms Recovery is located in Kemah, Texas. This center has detox and inpatient treatment for people with alcohol and/or substance addiction. Their programs also have intensive outpatient programs and tracks for first responders, Native Americans, professionals, and veterans. Their goal is to create an integrated approach to address your addic | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I had little to no hope before coming to Kemah Palms Recovery. I had just spent 8 days at a med-center hospital after a suicide attempt and they wouldn't discharge me unless it was to a rehab. Kemah Palms was actually my 6th rehab in the past year and a half. It was the first one I actually finished. I had left against medical advice at all the others. I was on a tremendous downward spiral with so much momentum that there was no stopping this fall. I was coping with the pressures of a recent divorce and spending the last two plus years fighting for my son's life who had had 4 open heart surgeries and 3 brain surgeries amongst many others. That was in addition to life's other traumas and pressures. I am dual diagnosed and my PTSD is so extreme it doesn't usually allow me to deal with situations of chaos and high stress. The team at Kemah Palms developed a treatment plan just for me and weren't so legalistic with the rules that I couldn't make it through there, but also had enough order that it was a safe environment. Earlier in this review I mentioned this being the first rehab I finished. That begs the question "what was different about Kemah Palms Recovery?" The biggest difference for me were that the people who are with you day in and day out are former recovering addicts themselves and actually care about recovery. They understand this is life and death and come at you from a place of understanding and love. From their director Paul (no one knows more about recovery than this man) to their clinical director Tabitha (compassionate and intuitive) to my counselor Mrs. Day (best in the business and a true overcomer) to all the RA's and I do mean absolutely all of them, they prioritize you as a person and put your recovery first. From Raquel (super sweet and caring) to Michael (now my sponsor and I wouldn't have it any other way) to Cody (a fantastic recovery ally who I can still call and process with today) to Kristen (super caring) to Christian (rooted in faith) to Matt (a caring recovery advocate) to Abbie (authentically cares for you as a person) to Julie (who knows how to keep you grounded) to Ember (heart of gold) to Ashton (strong advocate) Mandy (super love her and no more caring/empathetic person alive) to the nursing staff, Hailey,(actually saved me when I was choking and also grounded in faith) to Carmen (fantastic nurse.) From Ashlynn who was kind and caring during my intial call, to even Jennifer and Stephanie who make sure you're set up for success when you leave by making sure you have living arrangements and appointments set. Basically just everyone from the doctors to even the maintenance staff Andy, Curt, and Cameron, this place is all about recovery and doing what it takes to get you healthy and the best version of you. I must also mention Mrs. Clara the cook. That was some of the best eating I have ever had. I even spoke with the owners several times while I was there and they are absolutely awesome. You'd think a place like this would be profits over people and most rehabs are, but it is super refreshing that this is the exception to that rule where people and their recovery come first. I love this place. I have to mention the equine therapy they have with two awesome horses, (Star and Cassie) and Sparky the recovery dog was there to love on you when you needed a friend. The community and love here and the continued connection has laid the foundations for what my recovery will be for the future. I am now participating in their PHP program and Jason and John are fantastic. They are the counselors running that program and they really challenge your old thought processes. I am approaching 2 months sober at this time, which is huge if you know me, and nothing short of a present day miracle. If you're looking for a place to partner with you and give you the necessary tools for you to be sober and successful I highly recommend this place. Kemah Palms Recovery is more than a rehab, they are love. ❤️

Well considering I’ve been to quite a few rehabs, Kemah Palms has hands down been the best one. All the staff was very welcoming from the moment I walked through the front door. Detox was surprisingly good, Residential had its ups and downs but that’s all about perspective. The counselors were amazing! Told me what I needed to hear not what I wanted to hear. I’ve never felt so confident in recovery. They gave me wonderful tools to use. Taught me away to handle life in a more affective way. I would recommend KPR to anyone looking to change their life.

I was unsure of how this program would benefit my recovery in the beginning; I did not buy in fully for almost two weeks, but I am so glad I did. I want to thank the amazing staff- RA’s, Counselors, Admin, Groundskeepers, and especially the other clients I befriended along the way for their role in my recovery. I am a better man for it today, and I’m eternally grateful.
