Utah Trauma has made a lasting impact on how I see myself and the way I treat the world. The amount of knowledge I gained from my stay at this treatment center is unreal.
My initial intention when I landed at Utah Trauma was to create a much needed foundation I could grow from. Im writing this 2 weeks into the real world so the afterglow is still very strong from everything I gained from my experience at this house. I expected a very surface level of foundation than what I actually have now. I was more seeking a physical security rather than the emotional structure I now have. I feel more confident shaping my future with the tools I learned at Utah Trauma than I ever planned.
Fully immersing myself into the world of self growth that this place had to offer opened my eyes to more truths about my past than I really imagined. Jumping into an inpatient treatment center has a ton of variables. The way this house is setup makes for so much more actual real world life lessons than the previous program I sat thru. I always felt a true level of compassion from the people that ran Utah Trauma during my stay no matter how hard it was for me to face whatever truth I was being presented.
I couldn't have asked for more from this treatment facility. No matter the drama within the clients there was always a deep level of respect for how each patient felt about what was happening within the culture and I cant emphasize this enough. It's difficult to see passed the emotional lenses when drama is faced head on.
Jeremy had an awesome approach with every person at this facility during my time here.

I would have rated 4 stars but at the end of the day they're a business so you will be treated to their standards and I was treated well. Other than that I had a mixed, complicated experience. You should know about the type of residents who reside there, mostly severe drug addicts, convicts and people with severe trauma and suicidal tendencies so living with a bunch of strangers who mostly are there because of legal issues and not so much that they're truly trying to turn their life around is going to cause drama. There's a lot of house and client issues that it interferes with group therapy. There's a lot of needy, complaining, immature clients that make it difficult for the ones who are willing there and committed to the program and truly seeking help and change. Every now and than there's also favoritism among the clients, therapists and interns who put in hours there. They don't hire people for chore duties or meal cooks so clients have to participate in all that among other activities such as going to AA meetings and gym time along with the strict rules they ( which nobody follows, rules are broken, people are held accountable but there's no disciplinary action until it's reached totally out of control than you're kicked out) but I found all this truly beneficial trying to also have some order and discipline in my life. It's a fairly, decent, classic type of home, nothing modern. They have equine horse therapy in which they have 2 lovely, friendly horses and my favorite a donkey named Nacho. On the bright side, it's a lovely home, beautiful landscaping all around the house, beautiful views of Eagle Mountain, Saratoga and UT County Lake which I found very therapeutical. The owners did a very good job in designing and constructing the home along with it's location. Shout out to the staff who work there (Darron, Callie and Avery) in which they're family but they're very nice and professional and you will be taken care of no matter what you got going on. Try to make sure you're type of insurance is "in network" first especially the Medicaid plans cause it sucks to get admitted but have to leave because you're insurance didn't cover the stay but they will still try their hardest to make things work out. I especially want to shout out my therapist James. He truly cares, he handles himself professionally but yet he's laid back and super funny. Apart from him being my therapist I found his groups more enjoyable and knowledgeable. Also want to mention that this type of program is mostly based on "group therapy" rather than the one on one personal therapy with the therapist. Shout out to Jeremy as well, life changing experience with the EMDR therapy and truly inspirational therapists, I myself have always loved psychology and working with them truly inspired and motivated me to perhaps get into this type of field. Much love and respect on how they orchestrated the program. My family and I see and feel the change and how I've grown and learned but recognize that it was just an awesome stepping stone towards my journey to continue on a successful recovery.

Pinnacle Recover is amazing. All of the staff go over the top to meet your expectations. The program gives you everything you need to achieve your goals and gives you all the tools you need to help you in recovery. The food is outstanding, Chef Ed is so compassionate about his cooking. I've never had a well balanced diet as good as it was at Pinnacle. The activities you get to enjoy are so much fun. Sober softball, hiking, bowling, batting cages, ice baths, open mic night are some of my favorites. The facility is more than adequate, its an amazing house that is filled with comfort. Overall, Pinnacle has changed my life in so many positive ways. I feel as if my life is starting over and I get the opportunity to be happy again. Shout out to Katie my therapist for all the help and knowledge she has given me. I'm ready to go out into the world and face all the challenges it brings head on.

Ardu literally saved my life. Ardu is just not a business with employees. It is a home with family. They truly care about your wellbeing and will do everything in their power to help you. This program by far is the best Rehab facility in the country. My life was changed after being there for 56 days. The professional staff, attention to detail, intense therapy, and process groups all helped in my transformation on my road in recovery. They also included my family in the process, because this is a family dis-ease… I highly recommend Cirque…if you seriously want to stop drinking or drugging, are willing to be openminded, honest, and willing…this is the place for you. Just as everyone, I did not wake up and decide "hey you know what would be fun? Going to the ER". However that is exactly what I did. As much as I do not like going to the doctor, the nurses (Lacey and Karlee) EMT (Linda) and Dr. Meyer made my visit amazing! They were really quick with getting me in and seen and had me out in no time! I really appreciate that ER and they really did treat me as if I was "a close family member"! I will definitely be going to Mountain View ER if me or my family need them again!

This is my second baby I’ve delivered and I’ve always had great experiences from nurses to anesthesiologists to the dr! Love it here. My friends who’ve delivered babies elsewhere are always impressed at the recovery rooms. Also the food is good so that’s a huge plus! My LO never had the opportunity to receive treatment here, but I can't say enough good things about Natalia who works at intake. My son was arrested due to his mental illness. In a frustrating system, Natalia was a shining light who worked hard to help my son get treatment instead of prison. She wrote multiple letters to the judge, New Roads came out and did assessments and validated my questions and concerns. If the actual facility listens and cares like she did, I am sure the place would be amazing. It came highly recommended to me from various parents whose loved one's were able to recover, thanks to New Roads. I truly wish my son could have received the help that he needs from a place like this. As a professional in the industry, I had the opportunity to tour this beautiful facility. The staff was very welcoming and provided me with great details about their program as they showed me around the buildings, explaining what they could offer to the adolescents they work with. I loved the "adopt a cat" program and the equine services that they offer to their students. It was clear that their mission was to provide excellent treatment to their clients, aiming to set them up for success upon leaving.

I went to Brunswick exhausted, malnourished, and on the brink of a nervous breakdown. My marriage was ending because of Infedelity and I started drinking heavily. They made me feel safe, gave me a place to improve my health, Therapist that I could talk with and taught me skills to use when I was feeling overwhelmed in life. My nephew came to Recovery Ways and it was the first program that really worked for him, after two years of trying four other programs. He came out of this program a different, new person, his best self. What made RW different? The type of program--
1) Intensive therapy and classes with real learning, my nephew is super smart so he's hard to impress, he criticizes everything, but he was quoting the lesson & tools he learned here.
2) The staff was always present, available, created a strong sense of support along with the peer support group which was healing for my nephew, he finally felt he belonged somewhere.
3) Pragmatic, realistic program located in the city with daily visits to sites, bookstore, gym, aquarium. Patients learn sobriety in the midst of real life and daily activity in town, rather than being isolated then return to real life, they're accustomed to living sober.
4) Focus on mental health at Copper Hills was exactly what my nephew needed. They gave him exactly the tools that worked for him.
5) RW is unique, it includes both RT residential therapy and PHP partial hospitalization, all in patient, and covered by insurance, so no rent, you get room and food. So it's a 2 month min. program or longer.
6) Staff is amazing, very competent, on top of details, needs, circumstances, concerns. Matt and John were a godsend, every day, they went the extra mile, counselled with me on all needs, gave excellent advice and referrals to help me solve all my nephew's needs and navigate insurance, then transfer to sober living.
I can't praise RW enough, I thank God we found this place, I doubt any other place would have done what RW did for my nephew. It gave him a new self and life.

The Pathways inpatient facility gave me more than physical safety and care—it gave me something I had never truly known before: true emotional safety. The entire staff worked together to help me grow in the three areas of life that must be engaged—mind, body, and spirit. I walked in carrying a heavy prejudice against all men, but it was three men in particular who ended up aiding me the most, showing me that at our core, we really are all just human.
My main therapist, Daryl, guided me through reshaping my mindset and digging into my past to uncover my deepest wounds. He stood by me on one of the most emotionally painful days of my life, and I will never forget Destiny—one of the incredible nurses—literally running after him as he was about to head home, just so he could be there for me in that moment.
Dr. Sellers provided me with the best medical care I could have asked for. He never rushed through visits, always taking the time to explain not just what he was doing, but why—making sure I understood and felt safe with my treatment. I also want to thank Dawn, a powerhouse nurse who believed in my strength even when I couldn’t see it myself, and who pushed me to rise to the challenge.
Michael Ryan gave me the gift of faith and clarity in my higher power. He challenged me in ways I desperately needed, helping me confront the destructive core beliefs that caused me so much suffering and turn them upside down. He gave me the tools to question my own thoughts, and to approach them with both curiosity and compassion. Somehow, even in the middle of facing the hardest truths, he still managed to make me laugh and feel safe. These folks are authentic in their desire to help change lives. They are some of the most remarkable humans I have been blessed with coming across in life.
They are talented and skilled, and well equipped to meet mental health and substance abuse needs. They are particularly experienced with integrating well-rounded trauma focused treatment, using a variety of evidence based treatment modalities.

Steps was the first place I've ever gone to treatment and it was well worth it, so far it's saved my relationship with my wife, my family and myself. The staff is extremely kind and caring and just wants to help however in order for them to do so you have to be 110% open and willing to put in the work yourself.
If your looking into treatment this may help you so you know what your going into and what you can bring.
Blankets and pillows from home.
You can vape and smoke (don't flush vapes down the toilet or you'll lose your privileges for everyone it almost happened).
You can have food and candy (no energy drinks).
Family nights every other week on Tuesdays.
Black out period is 5 days (no phone calls).
Very scheduled, you'll be going from 8am to 8pm every day but it passes time quickly.
Just a few things that made my time easier, so if your looking into becoming a better you, this is the place to start.

Wasatch is worth every cent because of Todd he told me that I was recovered the day I stopped using drugs. He is one of the greatest minds the Recovery community has. I am writing this from a hyperbaric and still sober. I didn't stay the whole time but I got what I needed. As a veteran in the opiate epidemic and a 20+ time rehab connoisseur. I can say Todd one talk with him brought more healing and more recovery than hundreds of meetings, doing the 12 steps and thousand hours of treatment groups. Find your people. Be of service. Give back. Heal your body. Up north there's a hyperbaric and wellness in ogden ran by a beautiful women named Mel who is also phenomenal human. If you go there try the tesla coil. Wasatch was my first treatment center. Some of the staff that are not as versed in mental health have a very dangerous and possibly harmful way of “treating” clients. That being said most of the staff really cares and went above and beyond for me. Dekard and Dee stand out the most their positive and encouraging attitudes inspired me and pushed me to keep going. I can credit them for how far I’ve come (90 days). Like any place Wasatch has its short comings but all in all if you’re struggling with addiction it’s a great option 🖤

When you are serious about recovery come to Deer Hollow. It will not be easy, but it will be worth it. I am a Paramedic that came up in the time of “stuff those emotions down”, I’m here to tell you that does not work. They come back with a vengeance and hopefully you don’t take your own life before you get help. Not my first rodeo. I have been through a few rehabilitation programs with several local treatment centers in Salt Lake City. Recovery Ways at Brunswick was equipped with staff that has experience and multiple tools to assist in the recovery process. The step down progression and support is second to none. I have memories and friends from my short time that I will carry for a lifetime. I am sober today in part because of the staff and resources I was gifted on my day of surrender. Highly recommended and even though the commitment seems daunting, the experience will enhance your life skills and provide ample suggestions to assist in a fight for life outside addiction.

I first attended Mountainside from April to May 2024 and was stabilized there before attending outpatient (I left a review for Mountainside well).
To put it simply, Deer Hollow saved my life, without question. Alec was my therapist and he was incredible to work with. He introduced me to ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy) and that was where I got the most relief from my PTSD symptoms. While the symptoms never completely went away and simply backed off a little bit, it was enough to where I could actually function without being overrun by them.
I was challenged by Alec and other therapists when they'd be running group but I was never pushed beyond my boundaries. PHP/IOP is generally a 6 week program but I ended up staying in outpatient from May to September 2024 (with a three week break to go home in the summer) by my own choice as I knew by the six week mark that I wasn't ready to leave yet. I checked in with myself and my therapist regularly about this. I advocated for myself and stayed until I knew I was ready to graduate. I highly recommend doing this as some people think they can only stay for the 6 weeks and that's it. If you feel you need longer than that, speak up for yourself and speak to your therapist and Lisa about it (Lisa is amazing and fantastic, by the way).
Long story short: This place is amazing and saved my life. I'm so glad that I gave them a chance and I'm so grateful for the help they gave me.

The difference I see in my child is beautiful and to see the hope my child has and what my child wants to accompany list after realizing an eating disorder does not define who they are.
