There were only a few specialty services, such as dental, and some times audiology where we had much of a wait time. Most appointments were scheduled very quickly. I want to say, when my dad went to his appointments, we were NEVER rushed. We would sometimes have 2 1/2 hour appointments! His care team always listened, worked on root causes, helped advocate, and educate us. I feel his care there was superb, and it makes me sad not all VAs in our country have this level of care! I strongly recommend Deer Hollow for anyone who is ready and willing to do the hard work of healing. Deer Hollow staff are highly trained in supporting first responders and military veterans. Their therapists, chefs, technicians, medical, and administrative staff work in tandem to walk with clients. Due to the unique healing work that we need, the process is not always pretty. I got really upset on a few occasions while at Deer Hollow. The staff gave me room to process and also upheld standards. I appreciate the work that Deer Hollow does. I have my life back!!! Recovery Ways at Brunswick was equipped with staff that has experience and multiple tools to assist in the recovery process. The step down progression and support is second to none. Very grateful for this opportunity to get clean. Thomas Shade 7 months ago Going to Recovery Ways was, for me, literally a life-saving experience. I walked in there a total shaking wreck, heavily dependent on alcohol and in the process of dying, with undiagnosed and untreated mental health issues that led to my drinking. I spent 4 days in detox, getting my physical health back and decided to spend 28 days in residential treatment there. The staff were all experienced, and many of them have been in successful recovery themselves. The treatment I received there was compassionate and effective. I learned things about myself that I had been hiding from my whole life. I was able to heal old traumas and evolve into the person I want to be, rather than the person I accidentally became. I also had FUN and connected with people that will probably be lifelong friends, After residential treatment I went into their Partial Hospitalization Program and continued to receive education and help in building healthy thoughts and habits. I learned to respond to life, rather than reacting to it. My anxiety and depression melted away, layer by layer as I turned into a more effective and happy version of myself. Today I am 4 months sober, but I've learned that sobriety is just a side-effect of living the life that I choose. I do not believe that I could have done this without the wonderful humans at Recovery Ways, and all the care and love (and FUN) they shared with me. Highly recommended. And don't listen to the talk about the food. My nutritional skills also improved as a result of living there for 60 days. It may not be Club-Med, but that's not the purpose of being there. (They serve a salsa there that is better than I have ever had anywhere else.) David Lang 8 months ago I voluntarily admitted myself to Recovery Ways in September 2023. When I was calling about admissions I was staying in the behavioral unit of St. Marks Hospital, and Recovery Ways made accommodations for one of their team members to pick me up straight from the hospital. In-take was very fast. The staff at Recovery Ways Residential Care (Copper Hills) were very nice and friendly. They were able to make professional connections to each client, including myself. Although they weren't qualified to make treatment plans, diagnosis etc. they offered to have 1:1 discussions with clients if they weren't able to speak to a therapist on-site or on-call. For me, the situation wasn't as dire, or needed medical intervention, but they still talked to me about a struggle I was going through with my family. The occupational therapists are very sweet and insightful. Yes, they do help clients shop for nicotine, or do smoking supply runs every week. But, when I was at Recovery Ways (copper hills) it was clear to me that they weren't going to associate themselves with forcing clients/patients to adhere to strict guidelines but rather held us accountable for our actions. For instance, I was told by therapists and staff members that it is my choice if I want to pick up smoking, but they advised strongly to clients/patients to do their best to not pick up smoking habits as it will stunt our overall recovery from other substances or make it harder to receive successful treatment. The other residents/clients who smoked would also tell me to not start smoking or vaping. My therapist did have me go over my past trauma with her, but it was so she could have a better understanding of my case. The Med Technician who administered my prescriptions to me helped advocate for me to my psychiatrist appointed by Recovery Ways about having ongoing PTSD related night terrors. Because of him, I was able to be put on a sleeping pill and another medication that helps with PTSD night terrors. I went into Recovery Ways experiencing suicidal ideation (and having recently attempted), urges to self-harm, mania and lots of other symptoms/diagnoses. But, at the end of my treatment (after moving to Brunswick) I was able to recover successfully. Two years later and my GAD is in remission, my psychotic symptoms that was diagnosed alongside my Bipolar 1 Disorder is no longer affecting me. I have also stayed with their recommended psychiatrist when I was being discharged from Recovery Ways. And their excursions for physical activity/occupational therapy activities were kind of like surprises but they still gave us a few minutes to get dressed for the activities. Overall, my experience was amazing and every staff in each Recover Ways building were very helpful. I don't know if the chef at Brunswick is still working there, but in 2023 he was an amazing cook and made sure each meal he made satisfied the residents/clients. My best friend had drove from Utah to pick me up because I had back to back overdoses and was close to dying every single day from an extreme GHB, methamphetamine, alcohol, and cocaine addiction, as well as heavy Xanax, klonopin, oxy, and Adderall abuse. I was so bad that he and a small group of my closest friends had to pack my apartment for me before I left, because I was so disconnected from myself and reality. For 20 years I have battled addiction off and on and was always missing the key to keep me in a place where I didn't WANT to do drugs anymore. When I got to Wasatch there was a culture shock and it was scary for me. Utah isn't as diverse as California (especially San Francisco) and there was a fear that I would be treated differently for being a gay man in a conservative state. This was not the case at Wasatch. I was greeted with love and kindness, acceptance and patience. I had a time I wanted to leave and they gave me the space to do so, alongside with the opportunity to questioning my own reasoning for it. This lead to a personal meeting with the owner of Wasatch, Mark that really showed me what This program was about. When I was researching treatment centers the first question I asked was “Do you have a chef that can handle Celiac Disease?” Diego is the chef there and not only can he handle Celiac Disease, but he does it with ease! Between Coffee Cakes, Pesto Pasta, his specialty pancakes (we all know how hard it is to make a decent GF pancake) it was beyond delicious. The average week consists of going to a local gym that is massive- check out EOS in Sandy, then process group with therapists who are also recovering addicts. You feel like they actually get it because they do! In the afternoon it’s a study class around DBT, shame resilience, and healthy communication. In the evenings on M-Th was a meeting either in house speaker or an outside meeting (shoutout to Alano club!). Friday nights were spent playing Sober Softball which I highly recommend because I had a blast! My therapist, Sharon is a strong independent woman that set a huge example to me on boundaries, something I really struggled with going into treatment and have now made strides of progress. I feel I grew as much in 8 weeks as I did in a prior 12 years of therapy. Tyler, the COO, and Jeffery my case manager were able to help me transition to a Sober Living that allowed me to get my ESA back home with me. Rich, Luke, Jeremy, Noah, Christina, Dustin and the incredible support staff also played a huge part in me graduating successfully and starting the next chapter in my life. For the first time in a decade I have 100 days Sober and I’m sailing along. I can’t wait to see how life turns out for me in this next decade! I was actually treated like a human being with dignity, was listened to enough to actually get stabilized, they have programs, very good food as far as hospitals go, and things to do in your free time like drawing. They even had snacks available to just take. The nurses were kind. One of the nurses even went out of their way to make me feel welcomed (asked about my interests, etc). Being in the psych ward is already so difficult, but this truly felt like a break from my outside life. They don’t force you to do anything you’re against or have you strip down during intake. Another big thing is they separate patients based on what they’re being treated for and their risk level (like for violence) so i was never afraid of any of the other patients I was around. I was going to end my life and this was the start to a lot of treatment for me. three years later and I love life. Claire Isom 2 weeks ago Huntsman Mental Health Institute changed our lives for the better. Out of necessity I was the caregiver of my childhood friend who was having mental health issues. We couldn't figure out how to help my friend. It was a very overwhelming time. After being admitted to Huntsman, medication and Electro Convulsive Therapy (ECT) were provided which helped bring my friend's personality back to normal and the catatonia went away. I watched the ECT while it was being administered. It is nothing to be afraid of. If they recommend ECT for you or the person you are caring for, it worked for my friend. I recommend it. My friend is on medicine for life now and recognizes how good life is now. Medicine will prevent future mental health episodes. If you feel there is a stigma around a diagnosis, please know that getting help and staying on the proper medicine is more important than what others think. Life can be whole. People can function again. Before going to Huntsman, my friend really suffered because all psychiatric appointments were online. The online psychiatrist couldn't see the mannerisms or what really was happening. Online psychiatric appointments are unable to diagnose properly. I recommend staying away from online appointments. In person is needed. I am SOOOOO grateful for the people who work at Huntsman Mental Health and the people who have donated money to keep it going. Thank you soooooooooooooooo much!!!!! Huntsman Mental Health Institute was not the beginning of this journey. It took some years for my friend to accept the diagnosis. Once the symptoms were severe enough, my friend chose to trust the diagnosis was correct by believing friends and family input. Everyone's journey is different. If I could leave more stars I would! There were only a few specialty services, such as dental, and some times audiology where we had much of a wait time. Most appointments were scheduled very quickly. I want to say, when my dad went to his appointments, we were NEVER rushed. We would sometimes have 2 1/2 hour appointments! His care team always listened, worked on root causes, helped advocate, and educate us. I feel his care there was superb, and it makes me sad not all VAs in our country have this level of care! Their teams are highly appreciated by us.

I am a graduate of Deer Hollow Recovery’s program. I strongly recommend Deer Hollow for anyone who is ready and willing to do the hard work of healing. Deer Hollow staff are highly trained in supporting first responders and military veterans. Their therapists, chefs, technicians, medical, and administrative staff work in tandem to walk with clients. Due to the unique healing work that we need, the process is not always pretty. I got really upset on a few occasions while at Deer Hollow. The staff gave me room to process and also upheld standards. Not my first rodeo. I have been through a few rehabilitation programs with several local treatment centers in Salt Lake City. Recovery Ways at Brunswick was equipped with staff that has experience and multiple tools to assist in the recovery process. The step down progression and support is second to none. I have memories and friends from my short time that I will carry for a lifetime. I am sober today in part because of the staff and resources I was gifted on my day of surrender. Going to Recovery Ways was, for me, literally a life-saving experience. I walked in there a total shaking wreck, heavily dependent on alcohol and in the process of dying, with undiagnosed and untreated mental health issues that led to my drinking. I spent 4 days in detox, getting my physical health back and decided to spend 28 days in residential treatment there. The staff were all experienced, and many of them have been in successful recovery themselves. The treatment I received there was compassionate and effective. I learned things about myself that I had been hiding from my whole life. I was able to heal old traumas and evolve into the person I want to be, rather than the person I accidentally became. I also had FUN and connected with people that will probably be lifelong friends, After residential treatment I went into their Partial Hospitalization Program and continued to receive education and help in building healthy thoughts and habits. I learned to respond to life, rather than reacting to it. My anxiety and depression melted away, layer by layer as I turned into a more effective and happy version of myself. Today I am 4 months sober, but I've learned that sobriety is just a side-effect of living the life that I choose. I do not believe that I could have done this without the wonderful humans at Recovery Ways, and all the care and love (and FUN) they shared with me. Highly recommended. And don't listen to the talk about the food. My nutritional skills also improved as a result of living there for 60 days. It may not be Club-Med, but that's not the purpose of being there. (They serve a salsa there that is better than I have ever had anywhere else.)

I voluntarily admitted myself to Recovery Ways in September 2023. When I was calling about admissions I was staying in the behavioral unit of St. Marks Hospital, and Recovery Ways made accommodations for one of their team members to pick me up straight from the hospital. In-take was very fast. The staff at Recovery Ways Residential Care (Copper Hills) were very nice and friendly. They were able to make professional connections to each client, including myself. Although they weren't qualified to make treatment plans, diagnosis etc. they offered to have 1:1 discussions with clients if they weren't able to speak to a therapist on-site or on-call. For me, the situation wasn't as dire, or needed medical intervention, but they still talked to me about a struggle I was going through with my family. The occupational therapists are very sweet and insightful. Yes, they do help clients shop for nicotine, or do smoking supply runs every week. But, when I was at Recovery Ways (copper hills) it was clear to me that they weren't going to associate themselves with forcing clients/patients to adhere to strict guidelines but rather held us accountable for our actions. For instance, I was told by therapists and staff members that it is my choice if I want to pick up smoking, but they advised strongly to clients/patients to do their best to not pick up smoking habits as it will stunt our overall recovery from other substances or make it harder to receive successful treatment. The other residents/clients who smoked would also tell me to not start smoking or vaping. My therapist did have me go over my past trauma with her, but it was so she could have a better understanding of my case. The Med Technician who administered my prescriptions to me helped advocate for me to my psychiatrist appointed by Recovery Ways about having ongoing PTSD related night terrors. Because of him, I was able to be put on a sleeping pill and another medication that helps with PTSD night terrors. I went into Recovery Ways experiencing suicidal ideation (and having recently attempted), urges to self-harm, mania and lots of other symptoms/diagnoses. But, at the end of my treatment (after moving to Brunswick) I was able to recover successfully. Two years later and my GAD is in remission, my psychotic symptoms that was diagnosed alongside my Bipolar 1 Disorder is no longer affecting me. I have also stayed with their recommended psychiatrist when I was being discharged from Recovery Ways. And their excursions for physical activity/occupational therapy activities were kind of like surprises but they still gave us a few minutes to get dressed for the activities. Overall, my experience was amazing and every staff in each Recover Ways building were very helpful. I don't know if the chef at Brunswick is still working there, but in 2023 he was an amazing cook and made sure each meal he made satisfied the residents/clients. I'd recommend Recovery Ways for anyone.

I am a graduate of Deer Hollow Recovery’s program. I strongly recommend Deer Hollow for anyone who is ready and willing to do the hard work of healing. Deer Hollow staff are highly trained in supporting first responders and military veterans. Their therapists, chefs, technicians, medical, and administrative staff work in tandem to walk with clients. Due to the unique healing work that we need, the process is not always pretty. I got really upset on a few occasions while at Deer Hollow. The staff gave me room to process and also upheld standards. I appreciate the work that Deer Hollow does. I have my life back!!!

I go to redwood I.o.p odyssey house my name is Sunny, Riojas I'm currently a navigator close to completing. I've learned a lot from Odyssey my favorite assignment was the thinking errors it really helped me see them in myself and has taught me to grow. I recommend this program to anybody still in there addiction most say I won't do that snitching program. But it really ain't like that all it teaches accountability and how to hold your peers accountable. It also shows you how to express your emotions using the encounter process. My experience with the Odyssey House of Utah was life changing. I spent seven months at the Lighthouse on 745 E 300 S in Salt Lake City. During my time there, I learned about how my childhood trauma had shaped my life and started me on the road to addictive behaviors. I learned about my triggers and how to cope more effectively. this was my first time in recovery, and it was a great experience. i did the whole thing, starting in residential then moving on to outpatient and sober living. they put me on the path and gave me the tools to make things work. i was homeless and had given up on anything changing a long time ago. after completing the program, i am now employed, for 9 months and i love my job, after sober living i found a place that would rent to me. i did the work, odyssey showed me how, and made every step very doable. they helped me get all my legal problems taken care of and made it possible to get off the streets. after 14 years i had all but given up on anything changing. odyssey house got me motivated and gave me direction. i never thought i would be able to get to where i am now, working got my own place, more than anything im happy, and feel like i have options. im in control of my life. i highly recommend anyone thinking about recovery to go to odyssey, its not easy but they will get you thru it, and its 100% worth whatever it takes to regain a handle on your life.

Brighton does lean heavily into AA, which is definitely not for everyone (it never was for me), but I wouldn't change my experience for anything.

My overall experience at Brighton was amazing, I'm so deeply grateful for everyone at the South Ogden location. The staff and residents have cultivated an environment that truly supports growth and I left feeling deeply fulfilled. I went in with the mindset "I have to get sober" and left with "I get to be sober." They showed me life can be enjoyed, just just endured. Not white knuckling my way every second of my life. For anyone considering this step, you truly get out what you put in. If you come in surrendered, open, and willing to accept the process, the reward is life changing, I promise with all my heart. Taking that step requires immense vulnerability, but at Brighton, that vulnerability is matched by a team that genuinely cares. The head nurse, Siobhan, was a true blessing, my therapist Shawn was amazing, and the technician staff were all fantastic. It is so important to be surrounded by people who are passionate about their work, and that is exactly what I felt every day. I really appreciated the balanced program they offer combining deep group therapy and individual one-on-one sessions with holistic activities like spirituality, exercise, art, and outdoor time. While there were a few days where communication felt a little disconnected, the team overall stayed completely on top of the program and delivered a remarkably strong experience. I’m sharing this because deciding to enter recovery can be terrifying. I hope my experience can be a beacon of hope for someone else standing on the edge of that choice... Take the leap. This is my second go round… been goin to for like 6 months maybe a lil longer.. this place is far from perfect.. but just like everywhere else ur experience is what u make of it! Sure its ghetto… n seems that everyone that goes or well 90% of the clients clearly still use… but if u pay to much attention to those details rather than the real reason ur goin there ( your self) then u have already lost the fight.. stop taking so much time worrying about everyone else and focus on u and why u r getting help! Recommend to anyone that isn’t worried about sitting back and judging everyone else and just worry about their own needs!

As a United States Marine veteran, husband, and father, I carried years of trauma, pressure, and pain that I thought I had to handle alone. PTSD, addiction, anxiety, and the weight of trying to keep everything together nearly destroyed me. I came into Deer Hollow exhausted spiritually, emotionally, and mentally. What I found here was not judgment — it was brotherhood, compassion, accountability, and real healing. The staff at Deer Hollow truly understand veterans and first responders. They understand hypervigilance, shame, grief, anger, and what it feels like to come home from war but still feel stuck in survival mode. For the first time in a long time, I felt seen. On April 4, 2025 I was checked into Wasatch Recovery Treatment Cent from San Francisco, CA. My best friend had drove from Utah to pick me up because I had back to back overdoses and was close to dying every single day from an extreme GHB, methamphetamine, alcohol, and cocaine addiction, as well as heavy Xanax, klonopin, oxy, and Adderall abuse. I was so bad that he and a small group of my closest friends had to pack my apartment for me before I left, because I was so disconnected from myself and reality. For 20 years I have battled addiction off and on and was always missing the key to keep me in a place where I didn't WANT to do drugs anymore. When I got to Wasatch there was a culture shock and it was scary for me. Utah isn't as diverse as California (especially San Francisco) and there was a fear that I would be treated differently for being a gay man in a conservative state. This was not the case at Wasatch. I was greeted with love and kindness, acceptance and patience. I had a time I wanted to leave and they gave me the space to do so, alongside with the opportunity to questioning my own reasoning for it. This lead to a personal meeting with the owner of Wasatch, Mark that really showed me what This program was about. A type of love that I had never experienced from complete strangers that would soon blossom into a community of friends and family that have supported me throughout every step. Today, I am over a year sober. I have a good job, an apartment, I'm on the softball league, and I have 2 dear friends who even helped me with a car so that I could get to work and rebuild my life. I have rekindled relationships and transformed my mind, body, and spirit. This program works if you are willing to work for it too. They will show you so many variations of therapy that will explain how addiction works in the brain, a personalized therapist will challenge you to go deeper in yourself than you ever wanted, and the experiential therapy will reconnect you with life and nature. The food is great, the staff is loving and comes from the heart, and it is a safe place to grow bigger than you could ever imagine. That's why I love Wasatch and if you're reading this and need help, I hope you know that this is a special place that can help you too.

Wasatch has been the absolute BEST!! The staff is amazing and each one of the clients get to have access to therapy with The main Man Todd Sylvester who really can figure out what needs to be tweaked or overhauled like me!! Last but most importantly is the yoga that they provide in treatment lead by the master yogi Tina the Guru who can see right through you which makes it easier to be real which feels good. Because of there recovery yoga classes they provide after treatment with the Best teacher on the planet Sage, they get my 5 stars and 🕺🏻emoji!! Get the help you deserve and call Wasatch!! I just recently returned from spending 5 weeks at Pathways. While it was long and difficult it will prove to be very much worth it in the long run. The entire staff is incredible. The CEO, house manager, Dr., therapists and the entire support staff genuinely care about your wellbeing and treat you with understanding, love and respect. It may not be the fanciest facility but it's clean, peaceful and full of positivity. I've been to "luxury" rehab facilities in the past and I'll take Pathways staff and care over the "luxury" any day. If you truly want to get well and are willing to do the work I highly recommend Pathways to start your journey towards recovery.

Two years ago, I came to Pathways after a year of looking for help for a severe eating disorder where I lived in Nevada, to no avail. I had no hope or motivation to live anymore, but after my family convinced me, I decided to give it one last try. It is difficult to express how special this program is. Especially for those who really want life to get better. Their approach is unique, focusing on the specific issues underlying maladaptive behaviors and aiming to heal what makes people want to turn to substances or self-destructive behavior. I am alive today and actively pursuing a future because of the amazing, supportive staff at Pathways. I have experienced more positive, effective progress in the 2+ years I’ve been working with Tina than I experienced in the previous decade of therapy. Her patience, acceptance, and real/relatable nature has given me the space to make healthier decisions and the support to face difficult truths. Michael Ryan is an incredible recovery specialist who cares enough to be direct and honest and knows how denial can derail recovery. Yoga Chelsey has a wealth of knowledge and genuine desire to see clients heal. Doc Sellers was fantastic and encouraged me to keep trying when facing medication-related concerns and issues. Honestly, there are too many amazing people, both Clinical and Support staff, to specifically name them all. No program is perfect. There is a lack of attention given to teaching a variety of healthy coping skills, especially for a program that treats disorders which typically involve emotional dysregulation and trauma. Client dynamics can be a mixed bag and even professionals sometimes make mistakes. However, everyone is passionate about helping clients turn their lives around. Pathways is a special community and offers so many options to fit individuals’ lives. If you are willing to do the work, they are willing to walk with you through it.

Having been to many treatment centers in the past 22 years I recently graduated from Pathways residential treatment and have to say it has helped me help myself more than any other treatment center. Pathways has a unique approach to the treatment of mental health and addiction to where I didn't just feel like another client, I felt like part of a family who understood me, staff included. I wish I could single out every staff member there because they all care so much. I do want to give a shout out to one staff member. If it hadn't been for Ally who talked with my daughter for an hour, and then me when we were looking for a treatment center, and the way she took the time to explain to us what Pathways was about without trying to sell something really helped me make a decision that would change my life. I just graduated from Journey Treatment Center and I would recommend it to anyone genuinely looking to change their life. When I was researching treatment centers the first question I asked was “Do you have a chef that can handle Celiac Disease?” Diego is the chef there and not only can he handle Celiac Disease, but he does it with ease! He always made sure to make my food first and it definitely wasn’t basic! Between Coffee Cakes, Pesto Pasta, his specialty pancakes (we all know how hard it is to make a decent GF pancake) it was beyond delicious. In regards to the treatment team and curriculum they have outdone any other program I’ve been to or heard about. The average week consists of going to a local gym that is massive- check out EOS in Sandy, then process group with therapists who are also recovering addicts. You feel like they actually get it because they do! In the afternoon it’s a study class around DBT, shame resilience, and healthy communication. In the evenings on M-Th was a meeting either in house speaker or an outside meeting (shoutout to Alano club!). Friday nights were spent playing Sober Softball which I highly recommend because I had a blast! My therapist, Sharon is a strong independent woman that set a huge example to me on boundaries, something I really struggled with going into treatment and have now made strides of progress. I feel I grew as much in 8 weeks as I did in a prior 12 years of therapy. Tyler, the COO, and Jeffery my case manager were able to help me transition to a Sober Living that allowed me to get my ESA back home with me. Rich, Luke, Jeremy, Noah, Christina, Dustin and the incredible support staff also played a huge part in me graduating successfully and starting the next chapter in my life. For the first time in a decade I have 100 days Sober and I’m sailing along. I can’t wait to see how life turns out for me in this next decade!

Next level is a great treatment and Sober Living properties program, I have been with them since end of 2022 and still reside there in a Management position. The staff is great. Well respected and very helpful to the clients. Helping others overcome there addiction and behaviors is amazing. Times get tough but the Management is always behind to make things better. I know without Next level I'm not sure exactly what my life would be. They have help me grow in so many ways..

I have to take a few minutes and express the amazing facility that this center is. I pray it remains in business for year and years to come! It has been such a blessing to me this year. I am so thankful for being able to find this place. It is definitely a very amazing place with people that come from all walks of life. I feel so thankful to have found The Phoenix. I am amazed by all of the amazing therapists and amazing employees that work there. Bless their amazing hearts! The only thing that I will even mention that may be a downfall for them is sometimes if you need any extra paperwork throughout your treatment for court or anything it can sometimes take extra time and I highly recommend that you give them friendly reminders through phone, emails, friendly reminders at the front desk, etc. anyways thank you to the phoenix I know that I will keep them on a list of resources if I ever need a little extra help again! Way to be Phoenix and staff! 🧡

I can't say enough good things about Phoenix Recovery Center. During one of the most difficult times for our family, everyone treated us with such kindness, compassion, and respect. They took the time to listen, answer our questions, and truly made us feel supported every step of the way. When wanting to make positive changes in your life there is such a mental part involved to moving forward in that direction. When this change is ready to happen in you, you need to have the right tools to make those changes a reality. I have been so impressed with Corner Canyon. They have these tools in place for your change to happen. They have staff ready that engage with you every step of the way. They understand your individual situation as and they have the programs in place to create the positive changes you desire. As I watched my closest friend transform this last year and today celebrate her one year of success I saw that her desire with the support of this facility made all the difference.She understands the steps its going to take to fight her demons and she still meets regularly with one of the most amazing sponsors to keep her on that path of recovery. As far as inpatient goes, I would basically only recommend this facility. I was actually treated like a human being with dignity, was listened to enough to actually get stabilized, they have programs, very good food as far as hospitals go, and things to do in your free time like drawing. They even had snacks available to just take. The nurses were kind. One of the nurses even went out of their way to make me feel welcomed (asked about my interests, etc). Being in the psych ward is already so difficult, but this truly felt like a break from my outside life. They don’t force you to do anything you’re against or have you strip down during intake. Another big thing is they separate patients based on what they’re being treated for and their risk level (like for violence) so i was never afraid of any of the other patients I was around. I was going to end my life and this was the start to a lot of treatment for me. three years later and I love life.

Huntsman Mental Health Institute changed our lives for the better. Out of necessity I was the caregiver of my childhood friend who was having mental health issues. We couldn't figure out how to help my friend. It was a very overwhelming time. After being admitted to Huntsman, medication and Electro Convulsive Therapy (ECT) were provided which helped bring my friend's personality back to normal and the catatonia went away. I watched the ECT while it was being administered. It is nothing to be afraid of. If they recommend ECT for you or the person you are caring for, it worked for my friend. I recommend it. My friend is on medicine for life now and recognizes how good life is now. Medicine will prevent future mental health episodes. If you feel there is a stigma around a diagnosis, please know that getting help and staying on the proper medicine is more important than what others think. Life can be whole. People can function again. Before going to Huntsman, my friend really suffered because all psychiatric appointments were online. The online psychiatrist couldn't see the mannerisms or what really was happening. Online psychiatric appointments are unable to diagnose properly. I recommend staying away from online appointments. In person is needed. I am SOOOOO grateful for the people who work at Huntsman Mental Health and the people who have donated money to keep it going. Thank you soooooooooooooooo much!!!!! Huntsman Mental Health Institute was not the beginning of this journey. It took some years for my friend to accept the diagnosis. Once the symptoms were severe enough, my friend chose to trust the diagnosis was correct by believing friends and family input. Everyone's journey is different. Huntsman Mental Health along with friend & family support, really worked for us!

I joined a group for 5 weeks and enjoyed every moment. I was made aware of the course by 2 family members in the mental health field. I occasionally was having anxiety episodes that led me to the emergency room with a heart concern. On a couple of occasions it turned into a panic attack. With the information presented to me in the classes I feel I have the tools required to help me before it gets to that point again. I have shared my experiences with a number of friends and they have commented that it could be a good fit for them as well. I am so grateful for the program and the opportunity that so many can benefit from. The staff were so genuinely loving and concerned for my well being and I feel validated in so many ways.
