I went to tour both day centers, It truly was special to see so many caregivers smiling and laughing with the students. It was pretty obvious they love their job and the people that they care for. I wish that were the case every where, but sadly its not. The day center students do several activities each day, they get to choose which activities they want. I witnessed a woods class, they were making bird houses, there are Art rooms, music areas, library, therapeutic rooms, sensory rooms, classrooms and lockers, trails outside and more... The halls and classrooms are decorated with the students art work. All of the students were friendly in greeting me, smiling, and even doing pranks on staff since it was April 1st. I honestly had not laughed that hard in so long I cannot remember the last time. It was fun to do the tours and meet staff, see everyone in action. Thank you Matthias Academy staff, volunteers, students and residents for making me feel welcome!

I was struggling with my alcohol use and going into treatment with NIRC changed my life! The staff, techs, facilitators and therapists are incredibly supportive and knowledgeable with many of them having real life experience giving them a place of empathy and advocacy to serve from. In-patient housing, outpatient PHP and IOP options allowed me a platform to move through early recovery at my own pace. The group therapy offerings allowed more personalized options for topics that applied to me individually. Individual therapy helped me to work through to the root issues underlying my addiction through self-directed mentoring, alternative methods and connections with medical and psychiatry professionals on-site. After a couple months, I successfully completed treatment and left NIRC feeling like I have a new lease on life. I was connected with so many community resources to continue my recovery journey and at nearly 4 months sober, I am a version of myself I haven't been connected with in years! I am a better wife and mother, but I also have found my purpose and become a student, a friend, a coach and a productive, self-confident and SOBER part of my community. I owe it to NIRC and I hope to, one day, give back to the organization that has given me a life I am proud of and excited to live every day! Thank you!!

I had a good experience and learn a lot from this program. The staff worked really hard to get me a place to go. I am now in sober living. I enjoyed my time at this treatment center. Everybody did a great job and excellent job..it’s the best I’ve ever been . I came here on a grant .Now the journey continues

Great place more freedom than usual rehabs and teaches you how to be independent and preps you for living on your own and taking cadre of yourself. Weekends are filled with fun and a activity like top golf, arcades, bowling, etc...

Great experience and staff. The only thing I had a problem with was using the phone. We were allowed to use our cell phones 2 times per week for half an hour each time. Other than that it was a great facility and beautiful area. You won't be disappointed.

This place is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! They saved my lyfe for sure and are currently saving my girlfriends lyfe. I can not say enough good things about this place and trust me if it was wack I'd put them on blast. First the nursing staff is more then amazing. I went there to detox from the typical West Side of Chicago herion-fetinol-xylazine-morphine bullshit and knew I was in for a rough couple weeks. Shout out to all the nurses but especially Linda in detox. This lady held my hand and I completely give her all the credit in the world for getting me through that. After detox I went to the men's unit. I can only speak on the councilors I've had cause I've been there twice but John and Tera are amazing in every way. The staff is awesome with special shout outs to D, Sammy, Kurt and Chase for sure. If you've never witnessed one of Chases groups this man will change your lyfe. The rehab itself is like a resort and I called it the Passeges Malibu of Illinois. It's right on the lake and everything is gorgeous. Id recommend this place 100 times over. The only negative thing I have to say is I came with 2 brand new scripts of Alprazalam and Adderall that was destroyed without my consent even though they belonged to me and everyone said I'd get them back but I guess thats rehab for you. If your struggling with anything this is the best possible place for you. They truly save lives.

I went to bridge house after going to an inpatient. Going to Bridge house for the first time was an life changing amazing experience especially being there for the holidays up until about 2 weeks ago when i graduated the program. They offer groups I never thought I would get into yoga and meditation. I now enjoy doing both because of bridge house. They have awesome food that I used to always cook they actually care about what you're interested in making they buy all the ingredients for you to cook for the house on your scheduled day .They have very good groups and peer support groups. I enjoyed playing the drums and the keyboard that they have to offer as well. So shout out to bridge house thank you for all your support loving and caring attitude towards me always. When the time came I went to the appointment and they were so sweet, understanding, and very resourceful!!!. I was amazed, and happy!!! First off, it's a blessing itself to have a facility FREE OF CHARGE!!! They help step by step, to get your life in order and back together again!!!♥️ Nicasa has truly been a blessing to us, and always will be!!! We are still with them still this day!!! Ms. Cindy is 1 of the few and rare woman I have ever met. This woman was a Huge BLESSING!!!! THE THINGS SHE DID FOR ME WAS RARE!!! I am so grateful for Nicasa and the incredible support I received from their team. With the guidance of my caseworker, Ms. Darlene, I was able to make real progress in my life. She not only encouraged me to continue my education, but also helped me get my driver’s license and supported me through the process of having my background expunged. Because of her kindness, professionalism, and dedication, I have been able to put my life back together in ways I never thought possible. I also want to recognize her supervisor, Ms. Sindey, whose support and understanding made a huge difference. Both of them carry a genuine heart for the community and give their time, energy, and compassion to help families across Lake County. What makes Nicasa so special is that they are not just another organization—they truly care. They spend countless hours serving people and making a positive impact. I was there a few times. The LAST AND FINAL time was about 12 years ago. I was meant to be there. I actually met my husband there. Lol. These people care... they do care, if you care. Counselors can only do so much to help someone who is NOT ready for help. This was state funded. I don't understand all the bad reviews. It's better than Cook County Jail, Lake county Jail and McHenry County Jail. People lived in gutters slept on sidewalks, did anything necessary to fullfull our addictions and then go to a state funded place and complain that it is an awful place. I'll take ATP over active addiction any day. People don't realize how stressful counselors jobs are. They are dealing with some of the worst, entitled people America has to offer. A place can only do so much. They can only help you as much as you want it. If you have found yourself in ATP and are ungrateful for whatever they have to offer, you are not ready. They treated me better than I treated myself. So, I learned alot from ATP. It's not a full on rehab. It's more of a first step to sobriety. THANK YOU ATP FOR TAKING CARE OF ME BETTER THAN I CARED FOR MYSELF. YOU TOOK ME IN WHEN I NEEDED IT THE MOST. ILL NEVER FORGET WHERE MY SOBRIETY BECAME A POSSIBILITY AND THEN REALITY. NEVER THOUGHT ID GET CLEAN. EVER. IF I CAN DO IT, ANYONE CAN! THANK YOU AGAIN ATP FOR SHOWING ME RESPECT WHILE I WAS GIVING IT ALSO. The last in the reviews that said she got hit, I guarantee, you got him to that point. I've seen alot of disrespect and patients who think they are owed the world in a STATE FUNDED 2 week stay. (If I remember correctly it was 2 weeks.) YOU get back what you put out into the world. Thank You ATP for helping me get off the streets of Chicago's West side and taking me in. I love how I get an opportunity to share with others what is going on with me and I love the feedback I receive from the ones that choose to reply. This is a platform where you can find all the help you need and not just in recovery but in your everyday life. There is ton of information on here for me to explore as well as events I can attend if I choose to. I consider this platform another form of treatment the only difference is you aren’t obligated to do anything you don’t want to do. I love being able to connect with people on here whether I know them or not. We each get a chance to help one another and that’s the beauty of Gateway connect plus u can attend zoom meetings which is conducted by recovery coaches and other Gateway staff. This platform allows me to get outside of myself and the more I get on the platform there is so much to do and learn. I’m so grateful for all the continued support I receive each and everyday. It’s also a place where you can have access to 24-7 and no one on here is going to judge you. I enjoy the freedom to be able to express myself and the joy of witnessing others changing and desiring to stay clean one day at a time with the help of this Gateway connect platform.

I was able to tour here and I was amazed at how many facilities they have to keep the kids engaged! It’s clear the staff cares about each and every kid. Everybody’s mental health is different and the staff knows how to handle everything on a case by case basis. It can be very difficult, but the staff still excel! It takes time to heal. I would highly recommend Allendale!!!

I've had nothing but positive experiences with Aalto which offers an array of services. I can speak personally about my experience with their telehealth services. I've been going to the same Social Worker for close to 2 yrs & have had no unexpected cancellations. This particular Therapist primarily does telehealth sessions which I prefer but also sees clients face-to-face once per week on Wednesdays. She has been very flexible when something unplanned but important comes up with me that interferes with our appointmenttime. She tries her best to squeeze me into another appointment slot so I don't miss a session. She is a very seasoned Counselor with additional credentials, focuses on Cognitive Therapy which I prefer because it is evidenced based, very effective, and is a perfect fit for me. It was incredibly easy to establish a therapeutic alliance/rapport with her. She's very sensitive to my needs. Provides good education to assist me in finding the resources I need. She's compassionate, affirming, validating & honest if she in her professional experience feels like you need a reality check & helps ground you. Does not rush you & has an excellent memory of my important family & friends that are a natural support system for me & the daily stressors in my life. I recommend her (Angela) to anyone needing to find a well educated, experienced, up-to-date trained, compassionate, consistent & seasoned Therapist.
