In my opinion, the inpatient program is as successful as the work you put into it. There is no magic cure; just need to pull yourself up by the britches and dive in. Reception NEVER answers the phone, I am always redirected to leave a voicemail and often it is not returned promptly. I absolutely love my therapist who has helped me make amazing progress (in comparison to several others who have tried & failed before) Unfortunately the way the phone system/reception is set up makes it very frustrating and inconvenient. They are so much better than Pauquette center in Reedsburg. Aspen has shown me how a therapist should be, she doesn't hold things over my head, she sticks to her appt time, she is ontime 99% of the time and doesn't keep and hour over, she lets me talk about me, not what she wants to talk about first.

As far as psych unuts go, this one is *TOP* of my list!! The food is AMAZING, the people are WONDERFUL, the programs they do and the support they provide are absolutely the best I've had (and, I'm not ashamed to say I've been to *many* different inpatient units over my lifetime. 😅 Being able to go in when you realize you're out of sorts or not feeling safe is VERY important!! We don't talk enough about mental health in the world, and it's just as important as physical care!) Anyway.... 10/10... HIGHLY recommend! (And no, I'm not getting paid yo say this! 🤣)

Although I have nothing to compare this program to, I found my care to be top notch. Okay, the beds are a bit hard but the doctors, social workers and the nurses (almost forgot to mention the OT folks) were incredibly kind and effective. In my opinion, the inpatient program is as successful as the work you put into it. There is no magic cure; just need to pull yourself up by the britches and dive in. Oh- the food is quite good as well! I would highly recommend this inpatient psychiatric programming!

Connections Counseling is by far the best place I have ever been to for therapy and treatment. My therapist is insightful, inspiring, relatable and very knowledgeable. She encourages me to look within myself for strength and wisdom while she is there to help me. I now have 1.5 years of sobriety under my belt and have confidence in the future The groups are a place of safety and comfort. The staff aswell as the peers are relatable, inspiring and encouraging. Kim is the most uplifting person you will ever come across in recovery. Smart move to have her be the first person you deal with at Connections. March 25 I will have been clean for 2 years. I have been to many clinics and never have come this far! If I have a problem I get dealt with usually that day and with addiction being fast and efficient can be life or death. I think Dr. Harkin has tried hard to make his clinic a better the typical methadone clinics and I think he’s done amazing job! Not one of the other clinics in Madison can you walk into and say I’m struggling can I please talk to the doctor, not one of them will you be able to do that but at ASAP you can and that’s enough for me that right there is what it should be! When we walk in there in the morning sometimes all we need is someone to say hi , how are u doing with a smile on their face and that’s enough to change that day!! I’m so grateful for my second chance at life….well let’s keep it real more like 100th chance at life!! Lol but I think I got it this time and that’s thanks to dr. Harkin and he’s amazing staff!!

Dr Harkin, is great he is truly compassionate for his patient's. I have only been to one other clinic and they just treat you like a number, they treat you with respect at ASAP and they don't judge. During my very short time with them(relocated states) I have had nothing but the best people and care, especially my girl Trish(hopefully I spelled your name right.) I am Mexican American and I didn't have not one issue regarding race issues as they are a little diverse in their staffing as well. My only complaint during the short time was, no one tried to help me with housing... One of the main reasons I had to leave. Other than that 5/5 from food pantry, pharmacy, all great! Kevin is a pretty good one as well. Really they all are in the Madison location. Highly recommend!!

As a social worker in the community who has regular interaction with Journey- specifically Crisis- the responsiveness and follow through is wonderful. I had a situation where I was uncomfortable attending to an individual alone. I called Crisis and was able to speak with and have a Crisis Worker who is familiar with the individual accompany me to the home visit. Having an additional person with me, we were able to accurately judge and come to agreement for the safety of the person- that he did not need hospitalization, but rather needed additional support and time to be listened to. My thought is this: Sometimes the greater structure of the system is the issue, and not the resources in the community that have to follow those structures in order to help. I am grateful for Journey!

I love this organization, the location I visit has a chapel for anyone, it's a beautiful little room to pray or just meditate. They have a food pantry and free community meals are served seven days a week. It's a good place for those in need of nutrition, money help in dire situations, and those people staffing the offices are understanding persons. They never look down on people who need help, no matter the reason.

It was one in a million that I found Gabi! During some of the lowest days in my life, somehow I found Gabi and she agreed to take me on as a client. This was three.. maybe four years ago now?! I can be my most vulnerable with her and know I'm in a safe space without judgement or ridicule. Addiction is a b*&* and climbing out of that rabbit hole wasn't easy. Gabi was one pillar of my sobriety that kept me standing upright and marching forward to a better life. Now that I'm here (the better life) - damn it feels good! Thank you Gabi - you have a beautiful soul, great sense of humor and I'll continue to pay you forever to be one of my friends ;)

I have never met a counselor I LOVED until Gabi Koren who came highly recommended to me through UW Hospital! I have seen her for 3 different/separate specific reasons and still remain seeing her for 2 through Lake City Counseling. I actually look forward to talking with her and receiving her guidance regularly from a Women’s Virtual Group to everyday counseling. I have never felt so confident opening up to someone like I have with her and that was from the very start. I could never imagine trying to have to find someone to replace her, she is a true gift and absolutely 1 in a million, no exaggeration at all!!! Thank you for all you do Gabi and Lake City Counseling, we need way more people in the world like you, now more than ever!

I have been working with Mike Hebl at Lake City Counseling for almost six month and he is amazing. It took me years to finally find a place that could get me into weekly visits versus monthly. The receptionist is available from 9 am-2 pm, and is always very helpful and nice. I was skeptical at first because of a bad review I saw posted, so I wanted others to know that I have had the exact opposite. Mike has taught me so many daily strategies to cope with living with depression and anxiety. I highly recommend working with Lake City Counseling.
