I visited the V.A. Medical Center in Tuskegee, AL, on Nov. 14, 2025 for an audiology evaluation. It was my first time ever being at the facility. I've been working with the V.A. on my disability rating which was recently increased to 100 percent. I've been retired from the Air Force for 35 years and applied for V.A. benefits only after my wife's urging. The folks at the Center, from Dr. Hardy in Audiology, to all of the support staff I met while there, could not have been nicer. They treated me with respect and dignity and thanked me many times over for my service to our country. I am returning today for my hearing aids and I'm anxious to meet even more of the staff. I'm blessed to have the Tuskegee V.A. Medical Center nearby. While I was there on Nov. 14, I also made an appointment with Primary Care and with the Dental Office. I'm looking forward to these visits and receiving treatment from the many medical professionals serving our veterans.

The Staff and facility at this location are great. However, because the call center is underfunded and non-existent you will not be able to communicate with the great healthcare workers here. If you want the patient advocate, pharmacy or any other service within a 24 hour period, I recommend calling the Veteran suicide hotline and asking for them by name. If you are lucky enough to know the direct line for the patient advocate, they may be able to help. If you call the central phone line, be prepared to not be successfully connected to any department. I would love to discuss this matter with any upper level staff of the hospital. Oh wait, you can’t reach their offices.

I have heard all the bad stories about Montgomery facility and I’m glad to be with Tuskegee VA. I enjoy the staff here to the fullest and most of all they care!Absolutely love this VA facility.

This place is the worst place ever. They can never get there junk togather. They tell you one thing and when you come here they say oh he can't be released yet but yet they tell you to be here by 8 and I drive an hour mind you this is my 2nd trip and now there telling me he is not being discouraged yet. They need to pay for my gas to and from here. They are awful. Worst place ever my family member said the food is nasty. He was so glad to get out and get something worth eating. The frount staff when I got here at 8 was the nastiest person ever.and if you look and read the reviews they all say the same thing this is like your on a recording and it says the same old thing a live person is not answering your complaints what a joke. Just had surgery on my prostate the 20th of Nov 2025. Had to stay in the Hospital until the 24th my surgery went well I'm 65 years young and still in pretty good shape. I just changed my VA care from Tuscaloosa to VA Birmingham and had my 1st appointment yesterday. They are very friendly and Dr. Marzette seems like a good doctor. He's very friendly and doesn't rush anything. I believe I'm going to like this facility. The only problem I have seen is the parking.

My son was shot 4 times on Jan 31 on my granddaughter’s 13th birthday in front of his father in Bessemer. He was shot twice in the stomach and twice in the chest. He remained calm and called 911 and told God you saved me once so I know you will save me again. He was born three days after my 42nd birthday and received his name due to a healing when they said he was going to die. His name is Blesset Isaiah Person. After he was named after a Nigerian friend named Blessing and my sister-in-law said to name him Isaiah which means the Lord Saves I called and gave my assistant minister his name and the doctors’ cane in and said look like he’s going to pull through to which I responded there is no look like with God! Anyway UAB trauma surgeons are the best in the country. The surgery took about 41/2 hours. He lost a kidney, his spleen, a piece of his pancreas and has a bullet lodged in his back. First off when I made it to the 9th floor trauma unit Fonda gave me a coffee cake and Laquita continued to take care of me and my family daily! The nurses were heavenly divine. There was Abby Vice my favorite and Abby Hadaway my other favorite, plus Emily, and Shantia my son who relieved me and my son the patient’s favorite along with me. Omg all the nurses were so great. The PCAs’ Jason, Jordon, Brady, Daphne and the rest went above and beyond. As for the doctors’ the Trauma doctors were the best this side of heaven. Dr WAN was so kind and friendly. He explained my son’s condition very well as did Dr. Frutata and Dr Wu who discharged him today! Dr Amini made a great impression on me as well and Dr Weiner. They are exceptional and do their jobs in a manner consistent with excellence. I’m proud to have known them! I wish them continued blessings in order to continue to help others’ in their professional journey!💙🔥💙🔥💙🙏🏿

Update:They continue to be the worst VA. Waited months for a video appointment. They called and canceled with next available appointment almost 2 months later. That's what they always do. Work harder not to see veterans.
This is in regards to calling someone here. They will put you on a "brief" hold, 42 minutes, and then you will get disconnected.
