Red Hawk Behavioral Health is a drug and alcohol rehab in Littlefield, Arizona. They provide residential addiction treatment and behavioral health care for teenage girls. This treatment program helps adolescent girls with substance abuse, ADHD, oppositional defiance disorder (ODD), depression, anxiety, adoption-related issues, or trauma (PTSD) from
The only program that has been successful for our family is Red Hawk Academy (RHA). She has been in three different programs, two of which she was expelled due to her defiance and conduct. RHA offers a safe and caring environment. The staff listen to us and guide us to making the best decisions for our family and our daughter. RHA offers encouragement and support to our daughter. It is hard to think about where my daughter would be if we did not seek help for her last year. Words of wisdom, when you call a program or visit a program, pay attention to your gut instinct. Ask for the telephone numbers of parents who have had a daughter in the program. Not all therapeutic boarding schools are bad and abusive. Talk to the head of the school/program and make sure you feel heard and understood by that person. The first time I called Valerie at RHA, I had a really good feeling. She had a positive attitude and answered each and every question I asked. She was not evasive and she was forthright with her responses. I am truly indebted to RHA...the school has saved my daughter!

This place is amazing for your teenage daughter that is “going through it”. They are full of compassion, understanding, experience and knowledge that helps your troubled teenager get acclimated and open up. Hurt people hurt. You can do it parent/guardian! Help is out there, give them a call, and don’t stop until you get a response. Good luck to you and keep your head up!

I wish to write a review that speaks to parents, grandparents, guardians, any loving individual that is trying to "give a better life or save a life ". I just picked my daughter up from graduating Red Hawk Academy for Girls. Personally, I feel we saved her life. She chose life. At what point she decided on life I do not know. My daughter ended her freshman year in high school with 42 missing assignments and a suspension. Prior to this, she was on the honor role. The decline was drastic. She had given up. She had substance abuse issues, self-harm, outbursts, suicidal behavior, you name it. Our home was not safe, she was not safe. A formal psych eval was performed, multiple therapists, but every 3 days, something big was documented. We could not get through 3 days in our home without some big catastrophe! I began looking at Inpatient RTC programs. Something most parents only threaten, but never follow through. I applied to the first place and was DENIED entry. I was devastated! Because my daughter's history of suicidal behavior they would not take her. So now what!?! They referred me to another program. That place didn't respond to my application. I was then approved to send her to Wilderness. 10 weeks for a sweet price. But only 10 weeks? I was very very tempted but not willing to chance that short term risk. I called a hotline... Told them my story.. Same story I had told 3 other times. They directed me to Val at Red Hawk Academy. I didn't jump at Red Hawk Academy right Away. I was a mother still frightened and in denial by the devastating reality of our situation. I waited longer for even more events to happen at home. I finally made "THE" call to Val for help. I then committed to do the hardest thing I ever did in my life. I had them send their transport team to my home in secret, pick up my daughter and escort her to Red Hawk Academy for what would be just shy of the next year of her life. Guess what that program did for my girl? They saved her life!!! She is thriving. She has learned self-love, self-care, how to be a mentor, a sister. She found that she loves to help other people and hopes to go to college. I mean she WANTS to go to school!!! She genuinely puts the needs of others before herself. I'm not going to just thank one or two people at Red Hawk. Every single person there helped my daughter! They have created a family there that helped my daughter thrive. In my girls own words she said "You forced me to come here and now I'm being forced to leave." As a family we have learned to communicate. I will thank Val for that. My daughter learned to work hard doing hard labor that is almost unheard of in this day in age, Sonny thank you for that. Mel, thank you for the horse therapy!!!! Anita, thank you for making sure she was taken to all her med appointments and going through all the mail. To all the girls, thank you for being her sisters! The first time I visited her, it was apparently clear she felt more at home with you than me. That is a hard pill to swallow for a mom. To all staff thank you! You loved my daughter every second I could not and even when hard and disciplined that was representing what I could not give. It shows in her now. To all prospective parents, you must have trust and faith. Obviously, whatever you're doing is not working. I believe in my heart that I saved my daughter's life. At the very least, I and my husband presented her a chance at a better life. The rest is up to her. Red Hawk Academy exists!!!! Utilize them. They help provide the tools. It's up to your child if they want to succeed or not. Luckily for me, my daughter is choosing life!!! Thank you, Red Hawk!!!!

Zions Healing Center is a game changer. I will forever be grateful for Cord and his team for helping me through my dark days. The neurofeedback and TMS have helped me heal with my struggles with depression and anxiety. Cord has wonderful program that literally changes the way to look at the 12 steps. New Season’s Saint George Metro Treatment Center is an alcohol and drug rehab program for adults in St. George Utah. Their main focus is on opioid addictions. They offer medication assisted treatment on an outpatient basis. Their medication assisted treatment program has several prescriptions. These include methadone, Suboxone, and buprenorphine
Long story short but I was first dosing and then ended up switching from the other methadone clinic to here (other one was horrible) let me tell you this place is TOP NOTCH. They actually care about your recovery and will work with you if you are having issues with payments or anything that is holding you back from getting your methadone. The program director is new her name is Lauren and she ROCKS if you have any issues go straight to her and she will listen and get you answers. She is a straight shooter no bs Director and I appreciate that. As long as you’re 100% honest with her she will work with you. In the beginning of my recovery I was sick and not in the best head space and made some poor choices over a spans of 2 days and I was welcomed back with open arms because HONESTY and MAT works!!

My daughter is a patient here and she had some issues with her treatment including her medication that is currently keeping her SOBER. My daughter has a hard time speaking up and communicating her feelings. When I went in to try to help her get this sorted out I realized that the new director is a young lady name lauren who was also one of the therapist at my daughters previous treatment center. She got all of our concerns taken care of FAST and advocated for my daughter to get her medication fixed and she got it to the right place very efficiently and didn’t give us the run around took care of it right on the spot. My daughter was very stressed about this before and had been nervous but Lauren fixed the situation efficiently and couldn’t have been more kind it’s rare to find people in these places that actually care about addicts. She also provided us with some much needed education on what medication assisted treatment is and how it works. She is very knowledgeable on this stuff and is able to break down things in a way that we can understand which I appreciated. Thank you Lauren for everything and helping keep my daughter sober!!!!!!!

We are very thankful that we found Forte Strong for our son. Forte taught our son the skills to grow and develop so that he could become independent. Prior to FS, our son was not gaining these skills on his own at home or at college. The structure, discipline and accountability, combined with coaching and therapy, created an environment where he could grow and gain confidence. While we as parents had to step back and allow our son to rely on himself and the program support, by the time he graduated our relationship was much healthier. A weekly webinar for the parents is a key component of the program. Brook (program director) does an incredible job providing insightful and valuable parent education. He connects with the parents and helps them understand the underlying principles and processes of the program. We are grateful for the dedicated staff at Forte Strong and what they are doing for the students they serve.

Every situation is different, and with Will's help, he gave us the working tools to help our son get back on track. We are forever grateful to Forte Strong. I know that if you have a son who is struggling, Forte Strong is the solution.

There are too many reviews that have 5 stars. Forte deserves 6. Let me tell you why. I am Isaac Bradford-Feldman. I am 26 from Vermont. I came to Utah, August 2024 with dire need for support. I left Forte May, 2025 a changed man. About me pre Forte: During covid, I played video games for 10 hours a day. I had no friends nor interest to talk to friends. I had no independence, I couldn't buy my own groceries. I had no accountability. I had almost a gram of marijuana every single day. I lived in a state funded 'adult foster care'. I needed help bad. My parents realized the direction I was going. I came to my dad and said I needed help. I was ready to leave for Utah in two weeks. I was watching the movie, 'Dances with Wolves'. I was imagining Utah had bison and was something like that. I was nervous but excited for a change. My dad and I promised One critical thing that throughout my stay put me above many of my peers. No matter what, I would not quit the program prematurely until I was ready. My problem avoidance problem: How Forte Helped me with avoiding my problems: It was hot as hell in August. My forte was messy and my roommate was a jerk. Why am I here? Why am I doing this to myself I thought. I was blind to my sense of entitlement. I pleaded coach jake to switch forts to avoid my problem with my roommate. For the first time in three years, I had to face my problems. Paraphrasing here, he said, "No. You're going to have to put up with people you don't like and learn how to manage those kinds of relationships." I was very anxious. Confrontational. Serious. Reactive. And I thought my roommate was the problem. My roommate and I worked through it and ultimately, I was surprised how many common interests we had. The books: Forte will have you read many books. One of my biggest issues was accountability. A navy seal captain, Jocko wrote a book on how to take, 'extreme ownership' of any given situation. My dad would always tell me, "honesty is the best policy." How am I to be honest when its not my fault? I would think. This book helped me learn how to take accountability for my mistakes. Another book I read was The Slight Edge. This book taught me a new perspective to small habits and there benefit on my overall well being. Dave Ramseys Total Money Makeover helped me learn to manage my finances, not get into debt and save for an emergency fund. The Four Agreements helped me simplify the small things stressing me out and look ahead optimistically. The books I read in Forte were insurmountable to my development. My jobs: In Forte I struggled with employment. Its ironic looking back because now, I love going to work. Back then, It was like my parents were asking me to do chores. Culvers, Kohls, Natural Grocers. I worked in three businesses and quit all three. I could say this guy was a jerk or the management was this or that. Ultimately I was unable to make those jobs work. I was kicked out of the forts and given the blessing of homelessness. After I spent a night in the wild in a very cold night. I will never allow myself to miss work or be late unless I'm dying in bed. My current job: I currently work at a small family restaurant, Saint Hellen's where I love to show up every day at my job and fell in love with serving It is an absolute blessing to work at such a great place. I prove to myself every single day I'm there I am worth it by working hard and making my customers happy. I am proud of that. I cant write more in this review. Unfortunately there's a word limit. Shout out to Brook Price for helping me man up. I'm a changed man. I love my life, my job, my friends, my fitness, my money. Email me at isaacbfut@gmail.com if you have any questions about the program for yourself or your son. I am not affiliated with Forte and can give you first hand answers. Kimball, Sariah, Jake, Mikey, Sam, Elliot, Rodney, Kim, Addy, Ammon. Eric, Brook. Thank you. I owe you guys the world. Tell your kid to trust the process. I wanted to quit prematurely so many times when it got hard but that's life. I promised my dad.

I know this place has had its ups and downs in the past, and probably still isn't perfect across the board, BUT, I want to share my personal experience. Almost 4 years ago I went to them seeking help for a couple of mental conditions that were scaring me. One was what I called "zoning out" while still awake, and interacting with people/things I realized weren't really there...and even upon realizing they weren't real, I could/would continue interacting/wasting time with it. The other condition was that upon getting to the point of falling asleep, my mind/brain would experience an extremely LOUD explosion that would Jolt me so dangerously, I feared I was having a heart attack. So shocking and scary were these episodes, I was staying awake for days at a time out of terror they'd happen again. (and no, not like the common 'jerking awake' we all have had--like falling off the bed, this was like a massive bomb going off just outside the house, sloshing my brains inside my skull. They started me with a very nice older gentleman counselor. He was a great listener and took copious notes about my experiences and condition. He realized soon that my ailments were a bit out of his league, so he started looking to transfer me to someone else. BUT, he didn't just throw a dart at the names of other counselors, he really asked around and checked out their CVs and kept asking me questions until TOGETHER we found someone we thought was a better fit. Her name was Amanda Mendenhall. Obviously, when I started with her I was a complete MESS. My issues had gotten worse. The medications I was on from my family doctor were...extreme, in my opinion--hundreds of mgs of Trazadone a day, hundreds of mgs of Quetiapine a day, lots of tranquilizers and a couple anti-psychotics. Anyway, Amanda took interest in my case. She began pulling research and doing her own investigations, while at the same time looking to supplement me with a MEDICAL PSYCHIATRIST. Amanda taught me tools...a bit oddball at beginning, but very effective in helping me. And no, NOT counting to 10 doing finger touching!! These tools involved temperature, water, electrical stimulus, etc. They helped STOP a panic attack within seconds, with no drugs! Sure, she taught me techniques of Mind over Mind, but that was only a tenth of the treatment. She quickly found me a medical psychiatrist who tested my genetics to find the correct drug treatment without guessing! Between the 2 of them, my improvement happened quickly. Oh, and that "BOMB" thing? Amanda discovered what it was called: Exploding Head Syndrome. And they found a medicine to stop it 85% of the time--to be able to lay down without absolute TERROR is a really blessed thing. So, my advice to you is this: Ask to talk to an administrator there. Have you list of problems written down and ready to show. Then ASK: Which counselor is best suited to helping me? You may include treatments you do NOT want because they didn't help you in the past. If you are not PRECISE with disclosing your problems and PRECISE with what treatments you don't like....well, you will not be likely to find the help you want and need. Don't rely on luck. And don't expect every counselor to be BRILLIANT with every mental health issue! But, IF you explain properly what's going on with your, AND what types of therapy you're looking for (meds, counsel, quick techniques, etc.), you stand a better chance of getting someone who can help you improve! Best Wishes!!

When I sent my Godson to Liahona Academy, it was the hardest decision that I ever made. He has recently graduated, and I now know that it was also the best decision that I ever made. He struggled in the beginning, but once he finally understood that I only wanted him to become a better person, he started making changes. He is now ahead in school, has great grades, and an excellent relationship with anyone that he wants to have a relationship with. I can guarantee that if you sent your son here and you give him time to figure it out, he eventually will, and you will never regret your decision. My Godson came out of Liahona academy as a completely transformed man. He was a child with all kinds of manipulative “techniques”. Now he is a reborn man, a man who is honest and sincere, a man who you can count on to be a positive leader and have a great attitude. I am grateful for all the staff at Liahona academy, and especially for his therapist Benjamin Haslam, the program director, Richard May, and the case manager, Beverly Carayas. THANK YOU 🙏🏻

I was sent to Liahona Academy on September 20, 2019. I graduated on May 7, 2021. This placed changed my life. If I was not sent here, I would be either dead, homeless, or in jail. I was skipping school nearly every day and my grades were terrible. My relationship with my parents was terrible. I was smoking weed almost every day. I dreaded every aspect of my life. Now, I am a year ahead of my regular grade, with a GPA of 3.78. My relationship with my parents is fantastic. I don’t ever want to go back to my old life. I love this new life. I recommend that any parent who is struggling with their teen to send them here. It will be a very hard decision, but I can 100% guarantee that it will be worth it. Haris Husetic

Liahona was our last hope and nothing short of a miracle for saving my son’s life. The Liahona approach allows customized care based on timing of each boy’s willingness to embrace the opportunity for real, lasting change. The Owner Clay along with Rich, Bear and Beverly were wonderful to work with! The Liahona Virgin campus team have built an amazing program with a successful track record and long-term results at treating the whole person, not just the symptoms of bad behavior/substance abuse, but dares to dig deeper uncovering root causes of the problems. My son was a complex case as he exhibited erratic and dangerous behavior along with lingering effects of substance abuse which could have ended his life on multiple occasions prior to admittance. The highly-structured environment with set “wake” and “lights-out” times, allows the boys to get into a healthy, balanced and predictable schedule resulting in a solid foundation to become the best versions of themselves and make the most of the program. The well-regulated agenda culminates dependable sleep patterns, individual and group therapy, chores, healthy and consistent meals, with time built-in for exercise, school, homework, faith (of any kind or none at all), personal growth, journaling and reading. Based on progress, working the program and meeting milestones, the boys can earn group outings that may include volunteering a chance to give back to the community, or a fun outing like bowling, hiking or trip to the lake, etc. The staff at the Virgin facility were simply amazing! I can’t thank Rich (Program Director) and Bear (our son’s Therapist) enough for their vision and “lead by example” approach to earn credibility, respect and have such a positive power of influence over the most challenging of behaviors. Bear was very honest that our son was one of the more complex cases he had seen and that he wasn’t sure if Liahona would be the “best fit” for him. Bear was absolutely remarkable in treating my son, from day 1, as a fully 100% capable individual and he saw through the façade of substance psychosis, anger, low self-esteem, manipulative and self-centered behavior. The value of the Liahona program incorporates a loving and supportive environment, patiently allowing each boy to come to their own realization and choose to begin the journey-cycle of initiating progress, resulting in gaining confidence, motivating them to work harder, embracing the courage to face adversity and proving to themselves they are capable of setting goals and exceeding expectations. The Liahona program results in building confidence, fueling motivation for more continued growth and is the recipe for achieving not only success in Liahona but prepares each boy for a successful life outside of Liahona in the real world. My son entered Liahona as a troubled boy and graduated the program as a confident young man, eager to work hard, face adversity, exceed every goal placed in front of him, fully equipped with the knowledge and desire to help others along the way. We couldn’t be more proud and are forever grateful to the incredible staff and program at Liahona for doing God’s work here on earth!

I went here in late 2015 to early 2016. Absolutely wonderful and eye opening experience. One of the hardest but also probably the most helpful experience I’ve been through. Puts some hair on your chest, dirt on your face, and muscles on your legs. Big thank you to David C, Taiwaz, Billy, Chris, the rest of the field staff, head in structure, medical team, photographer and therapists. You guys are the A-Team!! - Jack S

Amazing people amazing place! The intake process was seamless and easy. They made us feel secure in our decision and hopeful. The transportation team that picked up our child were the best. The transportation experience was smooth and the team was caring and talked our child through the process and made it as easy as possible. Couldn’t say better things about this place and the process.

My son was just discharged after spending three months at Embark. We tried other treatment facilities with very little results. Our son appears to be a changed kid for the better although that is yet to be seen, the true test will be when he gets home and some time passes. All the staff at Embark have been absolutely amazing! They are quick to respond to any questions or concerns that we have had and truly seem to care. I can’t say enough good things about this place. If you have any questions and are thinking about this place for your son feel free to contact them and ask for my number I would be happy to share our experience. We have had a long road and can finally see a light at the end of the tunnel! Thank you Embark staff in Hurricane Utah! Cindy Swan

Extremely helpful and inviting staff. Very thorough in explaining the admissions process and details of the program. As difficult as the process can be with insurance and all other aspects of treatment, they got things done in a more than timely manner. Grateful that we found them and looking forward to the great things our son accomplish here.

My daughter attended this facility through high school until she graduated. All in all a positive experience. She liked it there. Definitely had some issues that required disciplinary action but nothing too harsh. They were a bit understaffed for therapists at the time to the point where the then-director became my daughter's therapist. Aside from that, no real complaints. Would recommend.

My personal experience: I was 16 when I went and I have to admit my behavior was definitely different when I got out. It taught me discipline and respect for myself and others. I learned to make decisions starting from personal responsibility to educational opportunities. I definitely recommend this place. I fought back the first few weeks and maybe even months but it’s like a wild horse who had trauma, they are eventually going to learn and it’s going to take time. I recommend! I would go back for the discipline and scheduled order they have. Thank You Falcon Ridge and its staff!

I went to Falcon as I was struggling with addiction and depression. Although it was tough some moments (as life is) being there was such a healing experience. The staff was so genuine and I made friends I still keep in contact with to this day. I graduated the program and received my diploma with the help of the teachers there. So thankful my parents sent me to Falcon.

Instead of just talking through problems in a regular therapy setting they encourage students to express themselves in different ways which can make healing feel more natural and less stressful. T

Before I went to Lava Heights, I was depressed, a self harmer, and I was into substance abuse; blaming my family for my problems through all of this. Now that I'm out and graduated, I have graduated High School a year early (from Lava Heights), applied for college and have my classes picked out, am working two jobs to pay for college and have an amazing relationship with my family. Lava offers AA, addictions group, a safe environment, healthy boundaries with a co-ed environment, fun and appropriate activities, and an over-all great experience. It's not bland, there are decorations accommodating the season it is, and the teachers are very ambitious with their students. I wouldn't take this experience back for anything in the world. So glad my parents sent me to Lava.
