The only program that has been successful for our family is Red Hawk Academy (RHA). She has been in three different programs, two of which she was expelled due to her defiance and conduct. RHA offers a safe and caring environment. The staff listen to us and guide us to making the best decisions for our family and our daughter. RHA offers encouragement and support to our daughter. It is hard to think about where my daughter would be if we did not seek help for her last year. Words of wisdom, when you call a program or visit a program, pay attention to your gut instinct. Ask for the telephone numbers of parents who have had a daughter in the program. Not all therapeutic boarding schools are bad and abusive. Talk to the head of the school/program and make sure you feel heard and understood by that person. The first time I called Valerie at RHA, I had a really good feeling. She had a positive attitude and answered each and every question I asked. She was not evasive and she was forthright with her responses. I am truly indebted to RHA...the school has saved my daughter!

This place is amazing for your teenage daughter that is “going through it”. They are full of compassion, understanding, experience and knowledge that helps your troubled teenager get acclimated and open up. Hurt people hurt. You can do it parent/guardian! Help is out there, give them a call, and don’t stop until you get a response. Good luck to you and keep your head up!

I wish to write a review that speaks to parents, grandparents, guardians, any loving individual that is trying to "give a better life or save a life ". I just picked my daughter up from graduating Red Hawk Academy for Girls. Personally, I feel we saved her life. She chose life. At what point she decided on life I do not know. My daughter ended her freshman year in high school with 42 missing assignments and a suspension. Prior to this, she was on the honor role. The decline was drastic. She had given up. She had substance abuse issues, self-harm, outbursts, suicidal behavior, you name it. Our home was not safe, she was not safe. A formal psych eval was performed, multiple therapists, but every 3 days, something big was documented. We could not get through 3 days in our home without some big catastrophe! I began looking at Inpatient RTC programs. Something most parents only threaten, but never follow through. I applied to the first place and was DENIED entry. I was devastated! Because my daughter's history of suicidal behavior they would not take her. So now what!?! They referred me to another program. That place didn't respond to my application. I was then approved to send her to Wilderness. 10 weeks for a sweet price. But only 10 weeks? I was very very tempted but not willing to chance that short term risk. I called a hotline... Told them my story.. Same story I had told 3 other times. They directed me to Val at Red Hawk Academy. I didn't jump at Red Hawk Academy right Away. I was a mother still frightened and in denial by the devastating reality of our situation. I waited longer for even more events to happen at home. I finally made "THE" call to Val for help. I then committed to do the hardest thing I ever did in my life. I had them send their transport team to my home in secret, pick up my daughter and escort her to Red Hawk Academy for what would be just shy of the next year of her life. Guess what that program did for my girl? They saved her life!!! She is thriving. She has learned self-love, self-care, how to be a mentor, a sister. She found that she loves to help other people and hopes to go to college. I mean she WANTS to go to school!!! She genuinely puts the needs of others before herself. I'm not going to just thank one or two people at Red Hawk. Every single person there helped my daughter! They have created a family there that helped my daughter thrive. In my girls own words she said "You forced me to come here and now I'm being forced to leave." As a family we have learned to communicate. I will thank Val for that. My daughter learned to work hard doing hard labor that is almost unheard of in this day in age, Sonny thank you for that. Mel, thank you for the horse therapy!!!! Anita, thank you for making sure she was taken to all her med appointments and going through all the mail. To all the girls, thank you for being her sisters! The first time I visited her, it was apparently clear she felt more at home with you than me. That is a hard pill to swallow for a mom. To all staff thank you! You loved my daughter every second I could not and even when hard and disciplined that was representing what I could not give. It shows in her now. To all prospective parents, you must have trust and faith. Obviously, whatever you're doing is not working. I believe in my heart that I saved my daughter's life. At the very least, I and my husband presented her a chance at a better life. The rest is up to her. Red Hawk Academy exists!!!! Utilize them. They help provide the tools. It's up to your child if they want to succeed or not. Luckily for me, my daughter is choosing life!!! Thank you, Red Hawk!!!!

I had a very good experience here and am happy I was recommended to come. The staff are very helpful, caring, and truly compassionate with each individuals needs. I have nothing but good things to say about Steps Recovery center in St. George. These people really do care about you, you aren't treated as just another client. My daughter attended this facility through high school until she graduated. All in all a positive experience. She liked it there. My personal experience: I was 16 when I went and I have to admit my behavior was definitely different when I got out. It taught me discipline and respect for myself and others. I learned to make decisions starting from personal responsibility to educational opportunities. I definitely recommend this place. I fought back the first few weeks and maybe even months but it’s like a wild horse who had trauma, they are eventually going to learn and it’s going to take time. I recommend! I would go back for the discipline and scheduled order they have. Thank You Falcon Ridge and its staff!

So thankful my parents sent me to Falcon.

I was forced to attend this facility in 2010. It was incredibly traumatic. I was sixteen at the time and I am now twenty-five and I still deal with the trauma. I did not go there for drug or alcohol abuse but I was sent there for being a “troubled” teenager. Basically I was disrespectful to my dad so he sent me away. The staff members are cruel to you, I cried on a daily basis. You are put in silence for sometimes days at a time. If you are not following staffs orders they give you an incompliant meal which was cold rice and beans. Even to the girls who suffered from eating disorders they would try to force these meals on them which were an excuse for them not to eat. This place is absolutely terrible. I still have nightmares and I am twenty-five years old and I attended when I was sixteen. I have blocked out s lot of the trauma but basically the staff would take any excuse to bring you down.

As the mother of a client who has been part of Back2Basics for the past 6 months, I can honestly say we could not be more pleased with the program and staff. We heavily researched programs for our son all over the United States and found Back2Basics to be a top program with proven therapies and highly qualified staff/therapists. They are highly respected in the Flagstaff community for their commitment and care. Our son has made huge progress during his time at B2B, more than he has at any other program. I appreciate each and every staff member of Back2Basics. The quality of care and dedication from the residential staff to the therapists has been exceptional. They provide a safe, supportive, and structured environment where a strong support system can be built and coping tools learned for these young men to grow and thrive once out on their own. Our son has dual diagnosis issues and each staff member has worked with him making sure he has the proper support and help based on his individual needs. Back2Basics provides weekly communication updates and has therapy for the families as well which is such an integral part of the journey. They incorporate life skills into the program so that when the young men do transition out of Back2Basics, they have the tools they need to be successful. I would recommend Back2Basics to anyone looking for a high quality, professional, and caring program for their loved one.

This review is for my billing experience with NAH and their mediocre outsourced billing department (Wakefield and Associates). I’ve been trying to obtain my itemized bill for months, disputed the questionable charges in writing, and still they refused the explanation and never provided the codes for services they are billing me for. NAH and W&A practice upcoding, unbundling and violate HIPPA by refusing itemized bills to patients. I will have to waste my time now by taking them to court and making a video about this so-called “non-profit” hospital’s shady billing practices.

It is a place to help rescue and revive the lives of so many who have lost their way for many different reasons. Everyone here gives their best assisting familes who few if any are willing to help. As a parent I would highly recommend this program. Outstanding, caring staff who truly change lives for the better. The small program size means the girls all really work together as a team to help each other. The love and support they have for each other and for their staff is truly awe inspiring. I suspect the few negative reviews are mostly from girls who either quit the program prematurely, were not interested in getting help (and thus would have criticized any similar program), or thought this was a horse camp rather than a therapeutic program that uses horses to help the girls learn about themselves.

I went and it was amazing. I was there for 11 months. I'm now at home and doing awesome. I Strongly consider it. The nature and outdoor experience was what helped me the most. I have the most amazing therapist and support teams.

I came to Kolob when I was 7 months away from being 18 years old, I was failing high school, unmotivated, and at odds with my family and myself. Kolob Canyon RTC allowed me to recognize my worth, what I can do, and have the tools to keep on keepin' on. I have since then graduated, sold cars (top salesmen every month on the job), gotten A's my first semester of college, and lived well with the people that mean most to me, my lovely family. It is never easy to admit that you need more help with your child and their needs than what you can offer, just ask my mom. But I do know that this program and the staff will change your child's life and your family dynamic. As a student a lot is asked of you unlike a lot of treatment places, but that makes it known that you are capable of a lot. And now I am onto things like managing a store and being a full time student at age 19. 2 years ago I didn't even want to live. I am so grateful for Maren (my therapist at Kolob) and Amanda who could crack a joke harder than anyone. Everyone here is wonderful. Just so blessed.

I went to Wingate Wilderness Therapy when I was 15 after my mom died and I wasn't doing well. I found this place and asked my dad to send me. I went in very angry, confused and lost, but I came out a totally different person. I felt like I had purpose and I had reverted back to my true self. I didn't wish death upon myself anymore, i didn't want to hurt other people who did me wrong, I just wanted to start over and be successful in life (and I am). I will never forget the miracle that Wingate helped facilitate. The people who are posting bad reviews did not go to Wingate, they went somewhere else that probably did abuse them. I can assure you Wingate would never do that. Thank you to everyone who helped me back then!

You have to be willing to take some time and look at places that offer what you need. Our son was so full of anger because of a loss that he needed help through it all. We are not professionals so we made sure he had what he needed here. He’s home now and doing so much better. It was the right decision for us.
