Before I went to Lava Heights, I was depressed, a self harmer, and I was into substance abuse; blaming my family for my problems through all of this. Now that I'm out and graduated, I have graduated High School a year early (from Lava Heights), applied for college and have my classes picked out, am working two jobs to pay for college and have an amazing relationship with my family. Lava offers AA, addictions group, a safe environment, healthy boundaries with a co-ed environment, fun and appropriate activities, and an over-all great experience. It's not bland, there are decorations accommodating the season it is, and the teachers are very ambitious with their students. I wouldn't take this experience back for anything in the world. So glad my parents sent me to Lava.

Candice Williams is the most horrible employee this facility could have ever hired. The amount of people she loves to mess with not only their mental health but their actual life. I almost lost my job because of her. I went through extra ptsd I already suffer from just because she thought she want helping. When I went in the last and final time she wouldn’t even leave her office because she’s a coward and she knows she’s in the wrong field. This place is suppose to help people instead they caused me night terrors and severe ptsd from her pretending to be my therapist. She does not have a license and last time I checked that’s a violation of HIPPA

I have nothing but good things to say about Steps Recovery center in St. George. These people really do care about you, you aren't treated as just another client. Almost all staff are recovering addicts, so they definitely "get it". I highly recommend checking them out. They got me right into a bed from detox. I know this place has had its ups and downs in the past, and probably still isn't perfect across the board, BUT, I want to share my personal experience. Almost 4 years ago I went to them seeking help for a couple of mental conditions that were scaring me. One was what I called "zoning out" while still awake, and interacting with people/things I realized weren't really there...and even upon realizing they weren't real, I could/would continue interacting/wasting time with it. The other condition was that upon getting to the point of falling asleep, my mind/brain would experience an extremely LOUD explosion that would Jolt me so dangerously, I feared I was having a heart attack. So shocking and scary were these episodes, I was staying awake for days at a time out of terror they'd happen again. (and no, not like the common 'jerking awake' we all have had--like falling off the bed, this was like a massive bomb going off just outside the house, sloshing my brains inside my skull.
They started me with a very nice older gentleman counselor. He was a great listener and took copious notes about my experiences and condition. He realized soon that my ailments were a bit out of his league, so he started looking to transfer me to someone else. BUT, he didn't just throw a dart at the names of other counselors, he really asked around and checked out their CVs and kept asking me questions until TOGETHER we found someone we thought was a better fit. Her name was Amanda Mendenhall.
Obviously, when I started with her I was a complete MESS. My issues had gotten worse. The medications I was on from my family doctor were...extreme, in my opinion--hundreds of mgs of Trazadone a day, hundreds of mgs of Quetiapine a day, lots of tranquilizers and a couple anti-psychotics.
Anyway, Amanda took interest in my case. She began pulling research and doing her own investigations, while at the same time looking to supplement me with a MEDICAL PSYCHIATRIST. Amanda taught me tools...a bit oddball at beginning, but very effective in helping me. And no, NOT counting to 10 doing finger touching!! These tools involved temperature, water, electrical stimulus, etc. They helped STOP a panic attack within seconds, with no drugs! Sure, she taught me techniques of Mind over Mind, but that was only a tenth of the treatment.
She quickly found me a medical psychiatrist who tested my genetics to find the correct drug treatment without guessing! Between the 2 of them, my improvement happened quickly. Oh, and that "BOMB" thing? Amanda discovered what it was called: Exploding Head Syndrome. And they found a medicine to stop it 85% of the time--to be able to lay down without absolute TERROR is a really blessed thing.
So, my advice to you is this: Ask to talk to an administrator there. Have you list of problems written down and ready to show. Then ASK: Which counselor is best suited to helping me? You may include treatments you do NOT want because they didn't help you in the past. If you are not PRECISE with disclosing your problems and PRECISE with what treatments you don't like....well, you will not be likely to find the help you want and need. Don't rely on luck. And don't expect every counselor to be BRILLIANT with every mental health issue! But, IF you explain properly what's going on with your, AND what types of therapy you're looking for (meds, counsel, quick techniques, etc.), you stand a better chance of getting someone who can help you improve!

I attended RedCliff Ascent more than 25 years ago, and the emotional trauma I experienced there still affects me today. The abuse—emotional, psychological, and at times physical—was real, even if it was never officially documented. Programs like RedCliff continue to thrive in Utah because the state enables them through weak oversight and systemic indifference.
What’s most disturbing is that RedCliff has never taken any accountability. Instead, they consistently defend themselves and dismiss survivor experiences. If you’re a parent thinking about sending your child here, I understand you may be overwhelmed and desperate for solutions—but please, look elsewhere. There are better options. I promise you.

My daughter attended this facility through high school until she graduated. All in all a positive experience. She liked it there. Definitely had some issues that required disciplinary action but nothing too harsh. They were a bit understaffed for therapists at the time to the point where the then-director became my daughter's therapist. Aside from that, no real complaints. Would recommend.

My personal experience: I was 16 when I went and I have to admit my behavior was definitely different when I got out. It taught me discipline and respect for myself and others. I learned to make decisions starting from personal responsibility to educational opportunities. I definitely recommend this place.
I fought back the first few weeks and maybe even months but it’s like a wild horse who had trauma, they are eventually going to learn and it’s going to take time.
I recommend! I would go back for the discipline and scheduled order they have.

I went to Falcon as I was struggling with addiction and depression. Although it was tough some moments (as life is) being there was such a healing experience. The staff was so genuine and I made friends I still keep in contact with to this day. I graduated the program and received my diploma with the help of the teachers there. I mean it’s a banger what can I say as a student who recently graduated yes the food is not premium and hiking can be tired but u just gotta be 2 steps ahead and do a steamboat marathon and mabye a pump fire but in conclusion don’t dread on the food three peaks ascent is where I met some of the best people ever staff and peeers there where hard days and fun days it gets fun once you give the place a chance u look at the stars the view because I can confidently say one day you’ll be around the campfire you will see the stars shine bright the coyotes howling the mustangs trotting and do your final glads while laughing with your friends and staff and then it will be all gone but I’m a good way you grow here you learn

Took the Rock in December of 2005. Mike Richie was one of the more memorable councilors with his 4:30 a.m. formation call-out in the freezing weather just to tell you how great the weather is in the Bahamas. It's one of the most peaceful and beautiful places I've ever been to. I made a whole lot of great memories and friends up there. And would go back every summer to beat this Vegas heat and for the peace of mind this wonderful place on earth gives you. To all the brothers I found out there, I hope you're doing well and hope to see y'all again real soon!

A big shout out to WestCare! 5 stars all the way around. I used to receive services from them a few years ago, but today I took a friend to her appointment without knowing what to expect. The staff were incredibly compassionate and accommodating to her needs (she is disabled!). They made her feel welcomed, spoke to her with dignity, and got her into treatment right away. Great place, sad it was cut short due to my poor actions. Im am glad that I came there tho becuase it did help me a lot. Im 19 and Im as young as they come. The staff really care and the people that are there was lile a brotherhood. Some of the best nurses and councilors in town! Im usually in an out in 5 minutes. I fill up on the way to work and usually there is no line! Of course you have the off days when a nurse is sick or someone is running late but for the most part im out in a timely manner. The councilors actually listen to you. Give you advice if you need financial help! Also when traveling and setting up guest doses they make everything go smoothly. Takes the anxiety out of traveling ! Solange(Sully)is my councilor and she is amazing. My wife has Jordan and she has nothing but good things to say about him. Ive even heard her call him anytime if the day just to talk with her when she needs the extra support. Overall, my experience at this clinic has been 9/10. I took one point off because they dont take my insurance but my councilors are working on getting me compensated through my insurance through out of network co pay so hopefully i get some checks in the mail ! This place has saved my life and my wifes life as well. We went from struggling to get well every day living out of cars to owning our own home and having 2 cars paid off. I can travel now. I can live a somewhat normal life and i owe it to this place and the amazing staff !

From the moment I arrived in the emergency room at the VA hospital to the moment I woke up from my surgery, I was truly cared for here. I never had to wait. I was never disrespected. It seems like everything all around us is falling apart sometimes, but this place was truly a refuge in my time of need. Thank you to Jacqueline and Dr. Kim and so many other names that I forgot and should remember along the way because they remembered mine. You hear so many bad things about these services and I'm happy to tell you that none of them are true in my experience. 10 stars. Thank you a thousand times.

Met some great staff members again at the VA HOSPITAL. I visited multiple departments from medical records to pre-surgery operation. One individual stands out it was a male nurse called Jeff he made a serious attempt and got back w/ me with a great transcript message trying to locate my Surgery. I received 1 yr ago from Dr. Bautista, who did a wonderful robotic surgery on me on their Da Vinci machine. I had a double inguinal surgery . I understood I was to get a copy of that surgery video that Miss Aquino told me she had sent. Nvr recd it Jeff informed of future details.thx

A big Salute to Dr Robt-Marlo Bautista MD AND his 3 nurses Alexis LPN, Michele RN, Cathy Navigator nursery and Laura RN. Whether on the phone or in person they all treated me with respect and dignity & Dr Bautista will be my future surgeon using the Da Vinci robotic for my hernia repair.
9/30/2024 Returned for 2 week post operative follow up and came in to talk to Dr. Bautista again who is a young, energetic, kind, compassionate caring special individual. He holds the rank of Captain and takes good care of his health no drinking or smoking and exercises regularly. He also takes care of emergency surgeries that come into the VA HOSPITAL. He did a normal job on the robotic Surgery called the Da Vinci machine. my follow up exam went great and looked great, and I even wore my navy uniform and hat, and made sure that when I saw him this time, I saluted him because I wanted to honor his skill set and taking care of me. Again, God bless the doctor and his staff, and I think the hospital for, such excellent care.
They really pay attention to cleanliness and sanitation . they had me bathe and washed with a special soap the night before surgery in the morning before and when I arrived, they gave me six more antiseptic towels for my arms, legs, front and back. They gave me his special mouthwash, toothbrush, and even iodine swabs to swab out, my nostrils. I was impressed because I know myself that bacteria and infections can really be life changing and detrimental. Should you acquire it during or after surgery. The packet they give you is very detailed and makes it important that you keep your incisions, clean and dry and don’t bathe and take showers or lift weights anymore than 10 pounds for six weeks afterwards.
I also want to mention and Salute Pre-Ops Staff Nurse Practitioner Ronnie Bowen who took a lengthy time with me going over bloodwork, chest X-rays and EKG TRACINGS. He was awesome. His nurse helper Rochelle .Great personal attention. Thank you for Kentesha at the front desk who’s always smiling as she greets all us vets.
A salute to the X-Ray staff Duncan Johnston who was excellent and really great personality. Made me feel very comfortable.
Also a special special thanks for the anesthesiologist and I’m sorry I miss placed his name. His job is very important to bring you back after they put you out before surgery.
The Optical department Allana Fa Garagan great as she found my lost glasses that were missing for months and the always kind desk receptionists always kind and patient all day long or after hour with lines of patients and telephone calls. I have to answer. Sorry, I forgot their names.
The phlebotomist Alejandro in the lab was expedient and wonderful as well as beautiful black lady who I forgot her name was also great two days later when I went back to the lab.
Thanks to the entire VA Hospital personnel from top to bottom and all the vendors and volunteers who make the hospital run like a well oiled clock.
