I’m in long-term recovery from literally every substance and mental health issue known to man. It’s been a very difficult journey and I’m beyond grateful to have found Estil Wallace and Cornerstone. I’m a graduate school student, intern, and entrepreneur. I work in behavioral health and I was having a really hard time finding a safe space to focus on my own recovery. I attended the Tuesday night men’s stag meeting and IMMEDIATELY felt at ease. It’s an AMAZING men’s AA meeting. Very clearly literature-based and solution-oriented. Not only is the building IMMACULATE but I saw men reading Big Books and doing Step Work. I had to work through a lot of trauma and a lot of grief before I felt comfortable enough to go anywhere besides therapy and the gym. As soon as I got to Cornerstone, I felt SAFE. I couldn’t be more impressed with this treatment center! My sister graduated their program, and today is her 4 year sober anniversary. I’ve seen such a positive change in her since then. I was reminded today of the huge hand they had in helping her. The staff at the rehab care for her and she’s still in contact with many of them til this day. When we visited ourselves the rehab itself was clean and comfortable. Can’t thank them enough because they helped my family member turn their life around, and I am forever grateful. I would highly recommend it to anyone seeking help with addiction.

I visited the ER and was obvioulsy low on the priority list. That is good. That means plenty of other people were sicker than I. I would have preferred a bed to manage my pain rather than the RP setting. Everyone was awesome. I remember Diego, Morgan and the wonderful Lauren. I wasn't the sickest person in the building by far, so I understand the delays while you juggle mutliple cases. The digital assistant touched base with me with updates. I do think the RP rooms/curtained zones need a nurse call button. For me, I feel like it created additional anxiety be confined in an approx 7'x7' curtained space with a recliner. I understand the need for such a space to manage beds but listening to others playing Comedian entertainers talking dirty on their phones, or incessantly talking to someone on the phone. Kind of ramps up the stress. The lighting is also bright for everyone in that zone. I really just wanted to close my eyes and try to relax and focus on managing my pain. Thank you Banner for taking care of me. The team was awesome! I'm sure I will return again in the future.

My Heart Is Overwhelmed with Gratitude
My experience at the hospital began at 5:30 AM, when I was greeted by the night-shift volunteer, Ms. Kelly, whose graceful and gentle presence set a tone of calm kindness. I watched her finishing her shift — cleaning her desk and answering calls with joyful energy — before she personally escorted me to meet the Registration Agent, Ms. Teesa.
Ms. Teesa looked like an Egyptian goddess — her intricate braids, elegant outfit, and soft green manicure all radiated quiet confidence. Her warmth and humor made me feel instantly at ease, as if I were meeting an old friend.
When I reached the surgical floor, I was given a hospital brochure thoughtfully prepared with every essential medical form a patient or family might need. That attention to detail was deeply reassuring. I was also greeted by a senior volunteer couple whose kindness and serenity added yet another layer of comfort to the morning.
For years, I had carried fear and distrust after many painful IV attempts at other facilities. But the Pre-Op RN, Ms. Karla, moved around me like a soft breeze — calm, light, and full of grace. She inserted the IV with one gentle touch I could barely feel. Her presence alone was healing.
The Anesthesiologist, Ty, performed his work perfectly — no pressure, no side effects post-surgery, only peaceful rest and recovery.
And then came the heart of my journey — Dr. Westphal, the Royalty of Surgery, whom I had been searching for over two years after an earlier failed operation.
Dr. Westphal’s mastery, patience, and innovative techniques restored not only my health but my faith in medicine. I wake up every morning filled with gratitude and go to bed with prayers of love for this remarkable surgeon, who treats every patient like family.
The care did not end in the operating room. The office staff — from Dr. Westphal’s focused and thorough PA, Ms. Kathy to the warmly welcoming reception staff (Diane, Tricia, Stephanie and others) and the kind Radiology Technicians — all radiate kindness, openness, and genuine love for their patients. Every visit feels like being welcomed home.

No parent can anticipate the experience of finding out that a loved one has an addiction, needs intervention and immediate help and hearing about this in your late 70s, never having prior family experience.
For me it was an 18-day full-time commitment in education, research and self-evaluation. After making dozens of phone calls and visiting well-respected rehab centers in New York New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Arizona it boiled down to two paths.
The first path was to research and visit the traditional large rehab centers that had plenty of staff and four-star reviews with a 30 day program and would handle up to 30 residents at the time. They would offer but not promote, encourage or have a program where the patient could make a commitment after 30 days to have a sober plan to follow. This was 30 days and done. In addition, the larger facilities spent 5 to 10 days in rehab and the balance of the 30 days was what little could be resolved through therapy. I was shocked to find out the high rate of relapses.
The second option was to find smaller centers with 15 residents or less that would reinforce, promote continuing support in a sober community after their initial 30 days. I found two locations; New Jersey and one was in Arizona. Both were owned and operated by previous addicts who not only had a vested interest in keeping themselves sober but were directly involved with a small staff in a more hands-on. I wouldn’t say that it was a boot camp it was certainly not the Malibu Ritz-Carlton experience.
Mark North at guiding road offers a comprehensive option balancing a small setting, small staff committed to finding out the how’s and whys of keeping each client sober. His goal is to keep them involved longer than the traditional 30 days cycle. For every month past the 30 day cycle relapse gets lower and lower. In the guiding road program being involved at the center worked out for my family member. Mark and his staff at guiding road provided sober living options continuing therapy support, and connecting the proper sponsor that is the right fit.
I would highly recommend anyone reading this to contact guiding road and Mark North to find out for yourself.

As the Holiday Season is here I want to take a moment to write how grateful I am for Guiding Roads Recovery. The facility has been prays answered to many family’s that have only wanted their loved ones back under the same Christmas Tree. And free from the battles they have against addiction and alcoholism. That is exactly what will be happening this year and many more to come from the treatment clients receive when at Guiding Roads. When visiting I noticed they delivered a family orientated establishment for those who seek victory over alcohol & drug addiction. The facility was clean and well attended to making it an environment that feels like home. when I was here I wasnt able to get my clothes until the second day, i was checked in late and often had to advocate for myself since i wasnt told how this place worked, it was difficult since im quiet but other than that this place was good, i enjoyed the food and the staff we're nice, i got to color a lot. it was super cold and if youre gonna go here bring slippers or something cs the ground you do often go outside

Sin duda en este hospital las veces que lo he visitado siempre me han atendido muy bien, el pasado domingo llegué al mediodía por Emergencias con un fuerte dolor abdominal y ya a las 6 de la tarde ya iba camino a una cirugía de Apendicitis, todo el personal médico muy amable y atentos. Enseguida fue la cirujana y me explicó con detalle todo el procedimiento, luego en la sala de preparación antes de entrar a cirugía, la enfermera, el anestesista y nuevamente la cirujana me volvieron a dar detalles de todo el procedimiento. La operación fue rápido y sin complicaciones, estuve esa noche del domingo y también la noche del lunes y la enfermera Olivia me trató muy muy bien, me sentí siempre acompañada. En generar todo el equipo médico fue muy bueno pero si debo destacar la atención de la enfermera Olivia y de la cirujana que no recuerdo su nombre, pero la verdad que me sentí muy bien cuidada. Despite the bad reviews, i have to admit that i was treated with respect from the beginning to the end. The staff security directed me to where i needed to go despite the annoying construction thats going on at the moment. The ER staff were very respectful and patient with me. Besides the very minor things i have noticed like the gross showers in the restrooms. I'd have to say these guys were freaking fantastic.

Initial care from the provider here wasn't great. Never listened to me or my concerns. Had me "diagnosed" before I even finished talking or without asking any questions. My new provider is phonemenal. Listens to you and is interested finding real solutions to your issues.

We just returned from my husband Eric’s first VA primary care appointment and were absolutely blown away by how efficient, professional, and downright welcoming the entire experience was.
We were checked in by Kayla, who was friendly and fast — I don’t think we even sat for a full minute before being called back. That kind of efficiency is rare these days! Mark, the RN, was kind, thorough, and respectful and made sure we had every number we needed to navigate the system with confidence. Then we met Joshua Makela, PA-C and it was clear from the start that we were in excellent hands. Not only is Josh a veteran himself (which we deeply respect), but he’s also compassionate, knowledgeable, and a true listener. He took his time to explain everything, answer questions, and walk us through what to expect going forward.
After the appointment, Kayla checked us out and scheduled Eric’s next annual physical. We left feeling informed, supported, and so grateful to be part of Team Freedom. This group truly feels like our tribe.

I'm a Hoppwa client and Ms. Treva Johnson is my housing navigator. Treva, is kind, professional, timely and thorough. She cares about the needs of the client and goes above and beyond the norm. I've had a few housing navigators , I was sad when I got shuffled at first but after Treva, working with me, I began to trust her and believe her and to me that's what counts. It’s hard to get ahold of anyone over the phone. My 18 yes old son has adhd/mild autism he has been severely depressed since the age of 13 and has been on a lot of different medication and therapy and nothing seems to work his depression has gotten worse and has lost the will to live he doesn’t want to be on medication anymore because he says nothing working he just lays in bed all day won’t eat/sleep has no friends won’t talk to any family member because he says we don’t understand what he feels here at behavioral health he’s been on 2 different medication he and I see that he’s getting worse we have another upcoming appointment next week hopefully he gets the help he needs and if anybody out there has any suggestions I’ll appreciate it 😊🙏thank you

The team at The Meadows truly sets the standard for outpatient care. The 8-week program is unique in that it focuses on trauma, using a model and tools to guide participants through a journey of self discovery. It is truly life-saving work and with the top-tier care team, I felt respected and supported. They also use many of the newest technologies, such as neurofeedback, to aid in recovery. I left the program stronger and will be forever grateful to The Meadows.

Let me just say this: if you’re looking for a clinic that lets you run wild and do whatever the hell you want… keep it moving. This ain’t that place. And thank God, because the structure here is exactly why people actually get better instead of playing games.
They go above and beyond for us, but they don’t put up with nonsense either. It’s the perfect mix of “we care about you” and “don’t try us,” which honestly is the only reason half of us stay on track.
We’re not just headcount to them. They actually know us, listen to us, and treat us like humans instead of walking chart numbers.
Michael is a solid manager who runs the place right. Rochelle, Lavale, and Theo? Some of the best counselors you’ll ever get stuck with—they’ll call you out, build you up, and somehow make you laugh in the process. The nurses are great, and the transport lady? She’s a whole legend. Reliable, real, and probably the only person who can deal with all of us before coffee.
If you want real help, real structure, and people who actually give a damn—this is the place.

I was set up here after being inpatient in a facility for mental health. Front desk staff was so kind, I was greeted by a young girl, she was new but you could tell she's in the right field. Very kind and compassionate and made me feel welcome!
Candy in adult intake is a treasure. She made sure I felt comfortable and safe throughout the entire appointment. Intakes for establishing care can be very lengthy and repetitive, but she kept the energy bright and bubbly the entire time. She played my favorite music to help make me feel comfortable and placed no judgment when I opened up about my issues. We laughed, and she encouraged me multiple times throughout my appointment.
They were able to explain any questions or concerns, as well as provide me plenty of resources should I need them. I didn't have any issues getting in their books either!!!
This place is clean, accepting, and welcoming. I'm very excited to continue my care here to assist with my recovery!

I really enjoyed and appreciated my time at CORE Recovery, and found it to be very helpful in a number of ways. They have an approach to treatment that addresses whatever your particular scenario is-there are multiple methods of treatment to support you. Individual therapist, family therapist are both assigned-typically different people for each so that the integrity of each is maintained. Group therapy sessions (I attended evening group sessions) are very helpful, as you are with other people that have same or similar issues. Which is great for peer support, feedback. There are "activities" done each session covering a wide range of topics-which are all related in their own way to treatment.
There is a focus on mental health-which I had essentially overlooked, or dismissed-and found this to be specifically helpful. As in, fixing the overall whole, required addressing each individual part. Once I truly grasped this, and was able to do the work and come to an understanding of the importance, how to address, and practice what was learned-the overall experience, and end result, was easier and better.
Again: family therapy, individual therapy, group therapy, nurse practitioners available, ability to use medications to also support recovery (or you obviously can choose not to use medications), it's all available.
I'd recommend CORE Recovery for sure!

I don't know what type of experience that everybody else may have had here at the Olive office in Glendale, but mine has been great. Staff has always been patient, polite, and professional with me. She has helped me to overcome multiple obstacles, and I have most definitely taken advantage of everything that she has taught me. Good clinic. Unless you want to get clean.and Just don't ask them for help with alcohol withdrawals when you're shaking really bad and your blood pressure is 213/120 because you haven't had a drink for19 hours and you're trying to quit drinking (after you've been drinking for 3 weeks straight because your son got murdered) you want to quit because your liver is failing; they'll with hold your dose that day. They
won't offer to check your blood pressure or anything. Meanwhile, my car blew a gasket on the way there.
