I remember driving my stepdad to inpatient treatment in 2018, and then taking my brother to treatment in 2021. Addiction impacted our family deeply, but Valley Hope was there during some of our most difficult moments. After completing inpatient treatment, my stepdad continued with Valley Hope's outpatient program, and that ongoing support was vital to helping him maintain his sobriety. Having a continuum of care made a tremendous difference in his recovery journey. Valley Hope has been instrumental in our family's life. The care, compassion, and support they provided helped change the course of our loved ones' lives, and we will forever be grateful for the impact they have had on our family. Today I am over 100 days sober and so much of that has to do with my experience at Valley Hope. I met some of my best friends there as well as my sponsor! I had an out patient procedure done and everyone was wonderful! Even my anesthesiologist was great! He talked to me prior to my procedure to go over what he was going to use and what he might need to do if necessary. I was treated well & was kept long enough after my procedure to be fully out of the anesthesia.

The staff was very caring and willing to work with my son when he was detoxing from Meth. I started the IOP class with the mindset that I really didn't need it. I had already gotten so far into my recovery that I thought I was beyond it. I had only had a small time in addiction and I had dealt with other people's addiction problems that I thought I had all the information that I needed. After starting class with the Lovely, Amazing Grace (lol😘) and the rest of the wonderful people that had just started I felt like I belonged, like I was at a second home! I got to open up and realize my still existing problems. Grace taught me an enormous amount of skills, tools and knowledge to help me nearly complete my Recovery Tool Box! Helping me recognize my triggers or early warning signs for cravings, helping me to find dozens of coping skills and techniques and ways to keep moving forward and continuing my journey of sobriety. She made me realize that I can live a whole happy, healthy sober life!! She is the best teacher for a class like this that I could've ever been blessed with!!! 💕💕❤️❤️🫶🫶

My husband went through the independence center over 30 years ago. He did relapse after the first 3 months but he did not attend any aftercare or AA. Within a year he started going to AA and has been sober for almost 35 years. My son has also been through the independence center twice with varied success. He has had relapses but maintained sobriety for the majority of the time. He has used the tools he learned there to get sober again after relapsing without having to reenter treatment. The program will work for you if your honest with yourself and do the work. Good luck and god bless!

When you are ready, you are ready. I did three rehabs in the span of three summers and I’ve been sober a year and a half since going to the Independence Center. The ENTIRE staff wass genuinely interested in my recovery. Of course it’s up to me how honest I want to be with my counselor, Chaplin and myself (and God), but their unwavering encouragement doesn’t hurt and it didn’t. The facility is much better than others I’ve been to in Nebraska and they keep the distracting extracurricular horseplay to minimum. They have a great culture and alumni in the A.A. and Lincoln communities.

Dr Brank took the time to truly listen to me without hurrying me! He wanted to address all my fears and concerns and then began immediately attempting to solve what he could!! He expressed the importance of me which was greatly needed and appreciated! The nurses do everything thing they can or find someone to help you! They know my name at sight and my voice when I call making me feel like family around here!! I am onery and may play jokes with them and they expect it and laugh and smile with me! Sarah (my therapist) and Dr. Bohart (my psychiatrist), as well as the entire staff at Blue Valley do a fantastic job of creating a collaborative and cohesive treatment plan. I began seeing them both years ago, I believe in 2021, and even after stepping away from therapy for a while - the Blue Valley team was always welcoming as I continued my medication management with Dr. Bohart. And about a year ago when I returned to therapy after everything started feeling heavy and overwhelming again, Sarah was understanding of the non-linear healing process. Thanks to her authentic and honest approach to our sessions, it took no time for me to feel comfortable exploring even deeper aspects of my trauma than we had touched on the first time. My therapy sessions feel right for what I expect and need in order to grow - for me this looks like a safe, warm and friendly environment that allows for a bit of humor, time to process, in depth discussions, open thought exploration and evaluation of thought processes, as well as where the frameworks and triggers stem from. Sarah's style is reassuring but also pushes me to see things from a new perspective. I have never left a session feeling unheard, and feel I play an active role in shaping my therapy sessions too (ex. I will sometimes have a singular focus I want to work on in a session, and if I'm ready to do the work - Sarah is always ready to support it). She readily provides me with additional resources and research so I can form my own opinions and shares techniques to try in session and at home. I would recommend her to anyone, but particularly those who want to play a more active role in therapy. Sarah is always genuinely rooting for me to succeed, has always been professional in our sessions, but more importantly, it's quite clear how much she cares about helping and improving the lives of her patients. The same can be said of Dr. Bohart, who listens to my endless questions when it comes to my medications and potential side effects or interactions. While I was pregnant and into post-partum, Bohart took excellent care of me. She made sure we were cautious in selecting medication that was safe during pregnancy and the right fit to best support and manage my condition with thoughtful dosages. Bohart is always open to exploring new solutions when possible - I had a reaction after prolonged use of one medication and Dr. Bohart's team took my concern seriously and helped me pivot to a new medication plan as quickly and safely. Bohart has watched me and my family grow over the last 5 years or more and always asks me about my daughter and how things are going. She will investigate any concern or question or new medication option thoroughly and often on the spot so I get answers immediately and feel confident leaving the session. The office staff have always been so kind to me, even when mental health gets the best of me or life gets in the way and are quick to help me reschedule or arrange my sessions in a way that makes the most sense for my schedule. They know me by name and are genuinely happy to celebrate wins, milestones and help me to get the resources I need. Blue Valley has always made me feel that progress is possible, that I can show up as I am and will be met with understanding, and that there is no shame in seeking help – even if you aren't always sure exactly what that looks like for you.

This place saved my life. It taught me how to live, showed me my strengths and showed me what it was like to have true friendships with women. I know this place isn't for every women, but it definitely was for me. I would recommend it for those who need this kind of long term gender specific treatment. I had a great experience and a not so great one but the not so great was only because I was in the wrong I was keeping secrets I lied to staff to protect another girl don't keep secrets do the right thing always and you'll succeed idk about the newer staff but the ones who have been there awhile and the ones who have moved on are all amazing women who would do anything for you if you just let them in. I have been with Pawnee for several years. I have PTSD that I have been carrying around most of my life undiagnosed by many therapist & Dr's until Pawnee Mental Health here in Junction City, KS. Whom finally gave me a name that others I felt ignored or didn't catch. Pawnee showed me what it was and it had a name. They showed me this by going over what I had enclosed to them from my own answers and within my first few appointments, I was diagnosed and an action plan was given to me right away. Pine Lake Behavioral Health is a breath of *fresh* air. I came here at my lowest… after being passed around/neglected elsewhere… and from the day I came in, I knew they had my back.
