I’ve unfortunately been to 9 inpatient treatments in Iowa and Hazelden in Minnesota. Powell is easily the best one in Iowa and their programming and staff are right on par with Hazelden. Which is one of the best (maybe the best) treatment in the USA. I highly recommend Powell if you or a loved one is serious about getting sober. They know what it takes to get sober and more importantly what to do to stay sober! 5 ⭐️

My child has been there for over five months. I was scared to send her but it's been the best decision. Don't read too much into the negative reviews, the kids don't like that they have rules and don't like the way things are done but it's tough love. Don't be afraid to send your child. They are good people, trying to do a tough job.

I’m 24, did my 4 in the Marne corps, and am living a great life but I did go here when I was 9 years old, I had severe anger issues but after 10 months, came out a completely different kid, and I’d say it was helpful, there’s definitely more kids that need this experience.

I went to Orchard Place on October 14th of 2022, and I was discharged on April 24th of 2023. It’s been a tad over a year since then, so I’m finally gonna type a review. Orchard Place is not what people say it is. People will complain and say it was utterly horrible and everyone there sucks. Although, even though it’s whoever’s opinion that said that, it’s wrong. (Jkjk.) For a 6 month and 10 day stay there, I can CONFIDENTLY say that all of the staff, despite the house or grade you’re in, are the most kind people you will ever come across. Yes, they play by the book for structure and seem strict, but they’re just doing their job. All of the staff in the houses, TC, school, etc. etc. They’re all great. At Orchard Place, while helping you learn to manage your behaviors, traumas, and whatnot, the staff will teach you proper discipline, management, life skills, etc. They also give you options for anything and everything. Everyone has a different mind with different problems, and Orchard Place accommodates to that opinion (of sorts?). Overall, Orchard Place is more than helpful. I would definitely recommend going there if you genuinely need it.

I came to broadlawns on New Year's Eve. Cause I was having really bad back pains and really bad cramps, during my pregnancy, I was only 6 weeks along, I went into the E. R they got me in right away, and they addressed the problem. Come to find out I had ectopic, pregnancy, which was really scary for me cause i've never been through surgery ever in my life and I went in for emergency surgery Right away and they were very compassionate with me.The whole time, from beginning to end and I absolutely loved all the staff that I dealt with. Even with the follow-up on my surgery they were very compassionate. And there for me the whole time definitely will be continuing to use them with my pregnancy journey. They are definitely not judgmental, because when I was going to another hospital, they made me feel like I was being judged. And that I should not be getting care at that other hospital after I gave birth to my second daughter they were very adamant about me getting on birth control but it's my decision religiously and personally i love that broadlawns was never judgmental, and never made me feel forced about anything.

St greg’s helped me take the time and learn the tools I needed to get down to my core of what my addiction was. I really recommend going there with an open mind and digging deep into yourself and your past. Figure out where it all started and why it continued. I was blessed to be able to come to St Gregory Recovery Center for help with alcohol addiction. I am over one year sober now thanks to the caring and knowledgeable staff. Their approach is evidence based and scientific, but also faith based. I experienced God working in my life to help take away my urges to drink and change my thought patterns. I also learned to live the 7 virtues with a great group of peers who all supported each other! Thanks to what I learned at St. Gregory, with a clear and sober head I am able to address and “fix” other flaws and weaknesses as well. Don’t waste your time anywhere else.

I was reading through these comments and I wanted to address a few things. I've been there for 3 months. I've been at another treatment centers in the past like UCS. A lot of the things the comments are true about places like UCS. Where they shame patient or we're running some sort of financial scam. Covert action is absolutely not one of those places. Everyone always very friendly to me I feel like I have a room full of friends every time I go there. My counselor is lovely she's always very sweet to me shes concerned legitimately about my needs. They're very well priced I think it's $70 for a week if you don't have insurance. Which is only $5 a day and as a user I always seem to be able to scrounge up enough money to get high I can definitely come up with 5 bucks and I did. The program is effective is the first time that I've been cleaned in nearly 15 years. This will be the first Christmas I've been sober with my family. But not only save lives there but they give you a life worth saving. And I saw some comments about Judy and I think she is an absolute darling I love her to death and she is the nicest most caring doctor I've ever met in my entire life. She always remembers my name just by my face. And she always treats me like a long lost friend. I look forward to speaking with her every month when I come to get my renewal. All in all it's a wonderful place and I thank them very much for giving my life back 😀

A Great place to look at when driving by. The reviews don't really hold a standard for the possibilities of actual recovery from telling your self that you should quit and doing so. If I were to agree with the way the building looks then it would contrast a rating of 4 stars in this case. People are good hearted all around in varieties. There in no reason to say that the hard working cops are not justifiable for their duties when trying to help treat people and their drug addictions.

My child has been there for over five months. I was scared to send her but it's been the best decision. Don't read too much into the negative reviews, the kids don't like that they have rules and don't like the way things are done but it's tough love. Don't be afraid to send your child. They are good people, trying to do a tough job.
