I’ve had a very positive experience with this clinic. From the beginning, the staff made me feel welcomed, respected, and supported in my recovery journey. The counselors are compassionate, knowledgeable, and genuinely care about your well-being. They take the time to listen and tailor the sessions to your needs rather than just following a script.
The medication-assisted treatment has been life-changing for me. The medical staff is attentive and explains everything clearly, making sure I always felt informed and comfortable with my treatment plan.
Appointments are well-organized, and I rarely had to wait long. Communication was smooth, and I always felt like I could ask questions or express concerns without judgment.
I’m truly grateful for the care I’ve received here. If you or someone you love is struggling and looking for help, I highly recommend this clinic. They offer real support, not just treatment.

One of the best experiences of my life and I DO very highly recommend as I think it is an amazing place for someone ready to make changes, but there’s some room for growth by Boca which I’ll get into shortly. I don’t think I would have as good an experience anywhere else. The facility is warm and welcoming, and the staff if fantastic. All of the RSes were wonderful people, and many have dealt with similar issues so between the other residents (who were great) and the residential staff you could always find someone to talk to no matter the hour.
The facility staff was great, very friendly, kept the place clean, and oh my god, Tim the cook has a gift for cooking and truly his love for his job and the residents shines through in both his personality and the amazing, delicious, nourishing foods we ate.
My main suggestion- which I understand Boca is aware of and working on now- is that the admissions process be a little more robust and consistent, and that certain providers, especially med providers, be more transparent and consistent about timing and follow through of scheduling appointments for clients who are in a chaotic point of their lives. However you can tell that operations directors- Big Tim, Katie, and Brianna- really deeply care about clients and are willing to advocate for clients when needed and talk things through with them. Nothing is perfect but they are continually improving and for a relatively new facility the experience provided was an exceptional one. And George, my therapist, and Drake, my case manager, were just awesome people. Like you know people who just are straight shooters and really care about others and you can tell right away? George and Drake epitomized those values and listened well, and had some great advice.
I feel like I was able to find and work on myself at Boca for the first time in my life, and I made many connections I suspect will remain with me in one way or another for the rest of my life. It was transformative and despite the above I truly believe anyone would be challenged to find a better place out there to go to at such a crucial point in life. Boca really gives the tools to people who want them to forge a new path for themselves. And being surrounded by people from a variety of different backgrounds but with many shared experiences made me feel so much less alone than I could have believed.
Big shoutout to the following staff, and I’m sure I am forgetting some, who made my time there exceptional: George, Drake, Tonya, both Megs, both Tim’s, Ben, Olga, John, Cameron, Isiah, Malijiah, Sabrina, Michelle, Will, Santoush, Katie, Brianna, Bob, Karen, Grace, Autumn, Angie- I’m so sorry for the ones I forget but each and every staff member I interacted with gave me some form of support, advice, an ear or even just a needed chat about the day. Boca needs to give all of you a raise but your care for us who come through those doors is so evident and if everyone in the world held the values you hold the world would be a better place. Thank you for sharing yourselves with us residents so we could be in a space to work on ourselves and learn to open up with ourselves and others. Starting to work on myself was made so much easier just from having the gift of knowing and getting to talk to you all.

The place was well organized, seemed to be run well and plenty of patient supervision, from the point that my friend made it through the complete admission process, she was able to reach out to myself and her sister, and her mother, and then transition to the Hope house in Springfield. I strongly encourage anyone battling with addiction and / or dual diagnosis as well, to call Carlson for bed availability and go through the program. I think the Carlson center was awesome. They medicate you so you are really comfortable. Their food is incredible and you can get seconds too which is helpful when you are starving and coming off alcohol. Every time I relapsed I went there because I knew they would give me another chance. You should go to groups but yes you can sleep if you’re tired. I remember the first time I went there. I was in serious alcohol withdrawal. I had the best sleep after being medicated. Their staff is great too. They saved my life. They wake you up for vitals early but you may need medication. Connecticut is ranked 35th nationwide in terms of addiction treatment affordability, with an average cost of addiction treatment of $57,667.
The costs of drug and alcohol rehab in Connecticut vary widely and depend on several factors, including:
The costs of addiction treatment listed for cities and states are averages based on the cost of the treatment types listed above. These averages are high due to the cost of medical detoxification and residential inpatient rehab programs.
These numbers also reflect the raw cost of drug rehab, before any insurance coverage. The typical individual seeking addiction treatment can expect to pay much less for outpatient or intensive outpatient services than the averages listed below.
There are many ways to pay for drug rehab in Connecticut. Most treatment centers accept cash or self-payment, as well as private health insurance. However, there are many treatment centers in Connecticut that accept Medicaid and Medicare, or offer sliding scale payments or other low-cost payment options. Here’s the complete breakdown of how to pay for addiction treatment in Connecticut.
UnitedHealth Group is the most widely-accepted insurance for drug rehabs in Connecticut, with 74 treatment centers in the state accepting their insurance. Aetna is the 2nd most popular with 72 treatment centers accepting it followed by Cigna in 3rd accepted by 68 drug rehabs.
Connecticut is ranked 4th nationwide in drug rehab admissions, with 1636 rehab admissions per 100,000 population in 2023, which is significantly higher than than the U.S. national average of 621 admissions per 100,000.
