Their staff has been so supportive and informative about their process. The outdoor hiking and camping is something that has truly resonated with our son. The all male environment is something that our son really needed to be able to focus on friendships and connections with other men struggling with the same issues. They build a community and that is what young men need today instead of the constant online activity and lack of personal connections. Our son truly enjoyed the hiking, camping and team building exercises. The personal growth and maturity we have seen in him since he started the program really has given us hope for our son and a sober future. The new DR. Sean is a major change from the previous DR that was there. Sean understands not everything is black and white and actually listens to you when you tell him like hey this isn't working can we try something else's, on top of actually listening to your concerns about medication he actually cares about your recovery as much as you do, I have not had one DR. Actually try to help when I said I want to be done with MAT meds, the last DR'S would basically set you up for failure so you will have to come back and be stuck. Sean will actually help you and not abandon you through the process of getting off MAT meds.He has helped this place become more hopeful for me. You can tell he cares.... and thats the part that this clinic was missing. Southwest please hold on to this DR close. He is litterly what makes the MAT program a true recovery program. In the end, the answer for me (and many others I met there) was a holistic combination of informed supplementation, rigorous detoxification protocols, exercise, sauna, individual CBT work, group therapy and top-notch nutrition. The grounds were clean and beautiful, accommodations homey, and the food delicious. I loved the optional daily nature outings and many sight-seeing trips around Sedona. I would recommend ATMC to anyone in medication withdrawals or poor health. I was suffering and with benzo withdrawal and wanting to end my life. Now I am thriving. (My stay was 60 days.) I will never forget my time here, the passionate staff of skilled care providers, or the dear friends I made. I was able to reduce my medication which before which is virtually impossible. The staff there goes beyond caring. They're like family from the nurses like Kimberly to the helping practitioners like Lucas Melody, Mo, DJ Beatrice, Trisha, Gregg, Beth, and so many others it truly is the greatest detox facility I have ever been to I can I can say nothing but the absolute best about this place. My experience wasn't too bad at all. They supplied me with the necessary items upon my arrival and a color coded uniform so others understood I was new. Different colors came with different treatment. I made some decent friends and unfortunately lost touch with them. Honestly, this place isn't for kids who just simply have bad attitudes, this place is for kids who don't know when to stop acting out and only get worse over time. I've met some girls here who had made scarier choices than me. From my experience the staff only confronted or restrained those who continued giving them attitude or tried to fight them or other girls. I personally wouldn't consider it torture, but things could have drastically changed since I've been there. They had a good amount of activities to keep every one busy and allowed the girls to make a small amount of money by working in the kitchen or other small duties. The group homes they have weren't bad at all either unless, again, you acted out massively. This place taught me that life is what you make of it and that actions will have consequences. The town of Jerome, the copper mines, we saw the Grand Canyon at least 6 times when I was there. The staff Ms. Burgess taught me to crochet. When I started to learn anll the other girls were interested and did as well. All the other staff members were like hippies, not like anything I had experienced in Cincinnati Ohio at treatment centers. So, nice. I didn’t like the psychiatrist much but in all it was an adventure there. I now have two companies. Lydia’s Lawncare and Empowered Lady Llc here in Cincinnati Ohio. I thought I could just go for 30 days because I had worked programs before just never been to rehab. But the first two weeks I thought were a complete waste because I was so angry with myself for the position I had put myself. It wasn’t until my daughter called me and she was hurting, I was able to articulate and say just what she needed to hear. Just by being sober for a couple weeks my mind had started to clear. It was at the point I decided to start working the program being that I hadn’t up to that point. 30 days turned into 45, which turned into 90, and I eventually did 120 days. Something I never imagined when I arrived. I put myself in every vulnerable situation I could and did everything I was asked. I dealt with demons that I didn’t even know were causing me problems.
