The podiatrist at Trinka David Clinic listened to my concerns and set me up for further testing. It turns out that I had a fractured bone and a torn tendon (that I ended up losing due to the 5 year wait) and received surgery as soon as it was possible (I had to wait another year due to COVID-19). The facility really likes to make sure that everyone is fed properly, with three excellent meals and three snack times each day. The staff was excellent attending to each individual needs and will work with each person in the best way they can. You'll also expirence a very entertaining staff that will joke with you and play around with you, making your stay a very pleasant one, definitely if you are the shy introvert that I use to be. The facility health providers/caregivers will also care and listen to you, making it a very safe place to open up and let out any problems your going through that much eaiser to cope with. One of the best was Charlie who came up with multiple ways to share your expirence/thoughts and come up with the necessary requirements to help advance to the next stages of your life, hearing each individual out and relating to them, also allowing people to stay outside longer with multiple fun activities, that allow more room for people to get out of their shell and meet/open up to the individuals who were also there to heal and prosper. Also be on the look out for one individual that will play,👌 with you a very entertaining way to keep you on you toes. (For those who don't know it's a game, that you show 👌 below the waist, and if you look at this hand signal you've been got.) FOR ANYONE!! Who does go to this facility you should participate and get him for me, but beware he is always on his toes, so it's very difficult to do so. Overall I give my stay and the staff a 10/10. But what really impressed me was the sense of community that permeated every aspect of the program. From the daily activities to the meals, everything was designed to promote connection and camaraderie among the residents. I have never been arrested and I figured it would be really hard to be a dad while in active addiction. That was in 2001. I've moved around to different places, Gadsden, Trussville, Tuscaloosa and others. I really loved the people in Tuscaloosa and hated leaving. I had to return to the Oxford area, to help with my mom who was terminal with cancer. When I transferred back to Oxford they were great. I loved the staff. At one point they were down to a skeleton crew, they did the best they could at the time with what they had. They have gotten more staff now and they are wonderful. I don't feel like my number so much. Yes, they are strict on the rules but look at what they deal with. I can manipulate just about anyone as an active addict. We all have that power.
