I've been to almost every treatment center in the state of Georgia and a few in Alabama as well. I was more stubborn than most. However, when things got bad enough and I was willing to change, The Golden Rule taught me how to act like an adult and be responsible. They aren't going to put up with old behavior and I needed a place where I couldn't manipulate my way through. This place is hard work, but it works if you put in effort and give it a chance! Faith without works is dead.

I had always heard bad things about Pinewoods. Staying there helped save my life. In the WellStar hospitals, people have to wait three days to be sent out -- Pinewoods makes that easier, you don't have to go anywhere but Pinewoods. They are open 24/7 days a week. You also can bypass being treated like a barnyard animal, wearing scrubs and using a paper blanket to cover up with. If the nerves are bad with a Patient, the last thing they want to be is in an isolation cell, hear others screaming in the cell next door, and feel judged by the sitters and doctors. As long as you don't go out there and act foolish, (due to fear or anger) You are treated with kindness and respect. Thanks to Pinewoods Staff.

My recovery started here. Wonderful place. I came in with nothing but a hat and a dead cellphone, wearing only hospital paper clothes. The techs made sure I had clothes and shoes when they took me home and they helped me with a 30 day supply of medicine. I learned a lot in group therapy and they made it fun. You can call to find out what days they do that or go down and talk to them in person for more information.Treat the staff with respect and you ll get the same in return. Basic human decency. My counselor T always treats everyone I have seen with respect and always smiles always pleasant, Ms. Sonja always pleasant and helpful with all of your needs and always nice, Ms.Earnestine is always on top of the insurance needs of everyone and always so nice and pleasant, Ms. Poole is the best site mngr I ve ever dealt with always willing to help you with anything she can do for you, everyone goes above and beyond their duties and what I have seen the site is clean and in order. For the size of the facility it is not that big but it is not messy or dirty and is organized from what I have seen.

This place saved my life.... The people that work there are very caring and understanding and the truly care its not just about a paycheck they enjoy helping people in the right way... And willing to allow you to grow and don't throw you out like some places do they give you a chance and believe in you and that makes me strive to make it especially for these haters that say untrue stuff on here about new Pointe because they can't get there way so I'm here to state the truth this place deserves a 5 star and they make you feel comfortable and except we are human but progress and practice makes perfection.... It's good to be at a place that has workers that have hearts and want to see all of us make it.... This facility has some of the most caring, kindhearted staff you could ever find, anywhere. People are treated as such, not as failures, not as dollar signs either. The people here are so compassionate, and they truly strive to help patients regain control of their lives and health. They lack some of the ridiculous (in my opinion, anyway) requirements of some other similar places. For example, you may purchase a lock box from them or use one that you got elsewhere. And instead of refusing to allow anyone to charge any portion of their bill, regardless of payment history or details of when payment will be made and caught up, they are willing to work with people - they truly want to help, and they do just that. They provide a very welcoming, non-judgmrntal atmosphere. While I mentioned that they do not require some things that other places do, when it comes to the important policies, those designed to minimize chances of diversion as well as the chances someone continues taking dangerous combinations of medications, they do adhere to those...such as routine screens, weekly (less frequent upon phasing up a certain amount) meetings with counselor, etc. And meeting with the counselor is actually a productive experience, as you are encouraged to set goals; the counselor frequently checks one's progress and provides some extra accountability which may be just what someone needs to make those much-needed changes.
