The Joliet Symetria location saved my life!! What a great bunch of people!! They work with you, and guide you through everything!! Heck Tonette even got me an Uber one time because my car was broke down and I was going to miss my dosing. I know I have heard good and bad about Symetria but this location (Joliet) goes out of their way to make sure patients and good. I heard about this facility from a friend and I decided to give it a try. The program works really well if you put in the work. The food is great and the staff hold you accountable, the facility could be a little bit cleaner but with one cleaning lady who puts in a lot of work what do you expect.This facility makes you feel like you will be ready to get out there on your own and succeed on your recovery journey.

I can't stand the negative reviews. YES I WAS THERE. Six months ago, I almost didn't stay but I did. Such incredible staff and an incredible program. Met some of the greatest people to ever want to change their life around. Residential was amazing. PHP also an incredible program attended both with full support from all staff and peers. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND RECOVERY WORKS TO ANYONE WHO WANTS TO BETTER THEMSELVES.

I see a lot of negative reviews on here and my experience might have been different due to my age (late 30s). I wanted to be at TK. I didn't have someone make the decision for me, although my husband was very supportive. Out of all the staff, there were only 2 I didn't like. Not that they were bad, just a clash with our personalities. I have epilepsy, it's chronic and active. I had to go home to have surgery (a replacement battery for the device that helps control my seizures). I was gone for about 36 hours. The staff was great with my seizures and with my surgery. I thought I was going to need to go back when my husband passed away, but I made it through. A lot of that I can credit TK with for giving me the tools to work with. The only problem I really had was leaving. Leaving was terrifying because that safety net just vanished. That is one thing I think the staff needs to prepare you a bit better for. I've been healthy since leaving. Sure, I still get the feelings/urges on occasion but I created my own safety net. I can control the urges. I'm actually rather proud of myself. PS - If any of the former staff ever reads this "Meany Mo-Mo" you know who you are. Thank you, for all you did. Your patience, your help, and just being there when I needed it. You literally are the best. <3

If they took my insurance which covers everything, it would def be a better experience. However the choice between using and taking my medicine is clear to me and worth the money in the end. However it is a program that you have to work for yourself. No one can do it for you.

Let me just say I was a patient at Medmark for years and above everything no matter what because they open at 4:45 AM says it all. They generally want to meet everyday people’s needs to live a normal life.In and out the door before 5am to do what you need to do w your life. Try and find another clinic that does that for you. You won’t. Working men and women this your clinic. Just no weed. Sorry.

I do not typically do these reviews however I felt very strongly I needed to. I have been in the program for over 7 years. The program honestly saved my life after trying several other things. My addiction became like most had back problems and my doctors were very free to prescribe the opioids and benzodiazepines. Xanax was actually the worst for me hospitalized for over 10 days due to all the seizures. Anyways the nurses Yolanda Jackie Val are sweethearts and have never judged me once. Yolanda is the one person who always tells me she is proud of me I don’t even hear that from family. Kim who runs front desk is also great. In my experience I have had around 6 counselors and sorry to say this is the downfall here. I don’t know if they are overworked micromanaged or just don’t care but I have had to go elsewhere for my counseling. I have promise for my new counselor April who is new to this location. Since starting she has been on top on my case not letting anything slide. She gets accomplished what the 5 others took months to do and I appreciate that. Non judgmental follow-up and just caring she accomplishes where most can’t and this is what keeps me clean and alive and I thank her for that more than I can say. Doctor is a different story for a different day I will just say to the women ask that a third person be in the room. That’s all!

Unfortunately it's all too common a trait for someone like myself - to make everything else the problem except me. It's sad to know that these people leaving bad reviews didn't give themselves a chance by accepting what is so simply laid out in front of you the moment you walk through the doors of ECS ~ A WAY OUT! A better life. Better relationships. A comfort with myself that I didn't know was possible being sober/drug free. A desire to participate in society as a functioning human being! These were all things that did not exist less than a year ago but do now. But if I didn't make the decision that I wanted things to change the moment I walked in the door, then I'm almost certain that I would not be here today. ECS never lied to me or sugarcoated my problems. They never mistreated me. They simply expected me to respect my peers and the staff just as they did to me the moment I walked through the door. And I thank God I did! Some of us just simply aren't ready. And when that's the case we find them unable to accept accountability and work hard to change. I did find it hilarious how one of the "negative" reviews unintentionally said something positive by saying "these reviews are by people who work here" By saying that he admitted just one more way that Dr. Sharma helps us out! (I have never worked at ECS but I read through them all. And out of the 100 plus reviews only a handful are from employees but their voice counts just as much, if not more). But it is very cool that some people go through ECS and then are trusted enough to be employed by the very people who know their darkest days. Kudos ECS!

Where to start with ECS. Well at the lowest point in my 42yrs of existence on this Earth. I found myself at Chicago Behavioral Hospital. And after being dazed and confused for the first four days in detox - I came to the realization that I was broken mentally, physically and spiritually. I was offered help and got connected with what I now know - is one of the best things that's happened to me. They connected me with Existential Counselors Society (ECS). I've never been to a treatment center in my life as a client. In the past as a member of A.A. I brought meetings to clients at other treatment centers. But this place is different it's truly special; it has opened up my mind to another approach on how to deal with my alcoholism. They speak my "language" what comes from the heart reaches the heart and I finally picked up that last missing piece of the puzzle to understand and deal with my alcoholism. From Doc, Justin, Brian, staff and all the counselors - especially the counselor that was assigned to me are all phenomenal. I’ve never written a review like this before, but Belinda at Regional Health absolutely deserves it. She is, without exaggeration, the sweetest and most genuinely caring person I have ever dealt with at any establishment. I’ve never even met her in person, yet she has treated me with more kindness, consistency, and dedication than most people you meet face-to-face. Belinda goes above and beyond in every way. She helped me find an amazing doctor, made sure my medications were taken care of, and anytime she said she would do something, I knew for a fact it would get done. No doubts. No chasing. No stress. There were days she even made late calls just to make sure everything was handled for me, then followed up to confirm things went smoothly. It’s rare to find someone in healthcare who brings this level of compassion and follow-through. She has made my life a million times easier, and I’m genuinely grateful for her. If every healthcare system had a “Belinda,” the world would be a much better place. Thank you, Belinda. You truly are amazing!

So I’ve been to Abraxas twice before. I just got out today so I’m goin to give you my honest review. I spent 28 days here & my counselor was Jordan & she was amazing 💯 Eli is also a great counselor I had him when I was there back in 2024 but moving on. I couldn’t have been happier with the nursing staff especially Jacob & Angela my first week here was pretty rough. I was detoxing from Fetynl & I was feeling horrible both Jacob & Angela were there for me with whatever I needed I just wanted to tell them thank you ☺️

I love this lil gem that's been a Godsend in my life. I never knew this Dr's ofc was inside as I drove many times past. It's an AWESOME place for those who suffer from depression or any mental illness. I love it bcuz it's one stop shop w/psychiatry Dr's & therapists together in a small, intimate, private setting. The Dr's are phenomenal & the therapists are excellent. I've been suffering w/depression for awhile now going from Dr. to Dr. on the same meds that weren't helping, looking for someone long term to help me. I've been here nearly 5 weeks & feel a million times better than when I orginally walked in. The medication (if needed) & therapy together work wonders. I'm so relieved to have found this place & finally am seeing a light at the end of a very dark tunnel.

The stay staff all are hand picked the greatest. Counselors are all one of a kind especially if u get Mrs cora ball of energy and Elijah motivation that and others do care or Steve called my probation officer and help you get off probation concerned checking in on me the staff there want to see everyone who there that it possible to overcome anything we may have faced let it go and don't give up on our selves . Rated the 100 miss my fgc family even pres me prince understanding and encouraging nurses are the best ever also. Saving lives and keeping families together is what this place has done for many years people I knew personally and abroad. The number one thing is mental health. That includes substance abuse disorders. If you're not gonna be honest and aren't ready to get clean they ain't gonna put up with your crap. I'm so grateful they were tough. They've seen it all yall. Staff has been there for years. They actually care and they’re not for straight profits like other local places. Still the best in the area 3 years later.
