This is my first time experiencing an addiction recovery program. But I can honestly say I've never been part of any program (of any kind) that has counselors and leaders with bigger hearts! I was recommended this place by my therapist, and can honestly say it was not only the best decision I've ever made but the most life-changing decision I've ever gotten to experience. As soon as I started, I could instantly tell that the counselors and leaders weren't just there to do a job but genuinely cared about every patient who entered their program. It was amazing to not only get education and tools on how to go through recovery but also how to cope with life outside of recovery with a tailored made schedules for each individual. This program also has amazing outside events for its patients in recovery, such as game nights, movie/book club nights, and more. Care Addiction Center is more than a program; it's a beating heart that saves & changes lives! I can honestly say it saved mine! If you're looking for a program that can get you to that next step when every other programs or every other solution has not worked, I promise you if you follow their advice and tips, you definitely will. I'm grateful to have met every single person a part of this program! I don't think there is a better recovery program that really exists; especially for its affordability. I know I'm biased, but there are many who would back that! I'm genuinely so grateful for these counselors and leaders and the many I've met who joined me in the program along the way!

BEST EXPERIENCE!!! This center was perfect for me because I am not a very social person and the small group sessions were perfect. Also, the small group allowed for me to learn more and get the most from the program. The instructors are very well versed and knowledgeable about addiction. I looked forward to going every day. Our group became very close knit and we do activities together outside of class. If you do not want to be just a seat filler and actually get something out of your recovery journey, this is the place.

I usually get seen at the Hoffman estates location but recently moved. I got blood drawn today at Aurora and I couldn’t be more thankful. The phlebotomist was incredibly efficient and also helped me get switched over to this clinic. She spoke so highly of everyone. The front desk staff was kind, personable, and got me set up with an appointment and new pcm. It was a quick experience but I was so impressed with them!

I'm an alcoholic, have been for years. I got treatment before I decided to give the Gateway, Iopc,a try. Im not religious and religion isnt pushed at GateWay Iopc, which is why i gave it a try. My Dr suggested it so I decided to do that treatment after my detox. Also my counselor Dan in the Joliet office is a great counselor. I, like most people are closed off when going thru this process. Eventually you will begin to open up when you see there is several other people dealing and going thru a similar situation as yourself. And believe me Im the most closed off person there is. You may not agree with all of it, as I didn't, but there are parts that's help. Everyone is dealing with something different and everyone is affected differently. Focus on yourself and don't let outside influences stop you from what you want.

All the staff here is exceptional. Yet there are 3 people I would like to thank from the bottom of my heart; Nate (the clinical director), Dr Steve Holtsford, and a Lighthouse collaborator, Rehna Becker. These 3 people have saved my life in their own way. That's no small thing. Nate was the one who got through to me when no one else could. He is the reason I stayed in recovery. He's so incredibly intelligent, witty, charismatic, heartfelt and has a brilliant sense of humor to go with a great big heart. I think a good sense of humor is wildly underappreciated when dealing with such incredibly heavy topics. Likewise, he knows the exact moment to pivot and get real with you. He is the one who started this whole incredible program. Dr. Holtsford is probably the best physician working in addiction medicine in the state of Illinois and I would wager, he's going to emerge as a leader at the national level. He stays up to date with the most cutting edge research as it relates his area of expertise. He has a certain ease about him that makes it easy to open up and be honest which is one of the greatest challenges facing anyone who is in recovery. There could not be a finer medical director at the helm of a recovery clinic. Last but definitely not least is Rehna. She is the most extraordinary therapist I have encountered in my lifetime and I have met with dozens. I am not sure I should be mentioning her as I believe she has a separate practice that's in the same building. Rehna is the "thermonuclear" option in the absolute best sense. She is the therapist to see for those who are truly lost causes. She is burdened with the most severe cases yet she maintains such a bright disposition despite routinely dealing with the most intractable cases of patients with severe trauma. I owe her my life. Thank you Rehna for sticking with me and for encouraging me to be "the man in the ring."

It's wild to imagine that I've been a patient with Lighthouse now for more than a decade. They've stayed with me through thick and through thin. They've been patient with me when I made mistakes and never turned their back on me or cast me aside like so many other doctors. You can expect to be treated with respect and dignity. You and your loved ones will be supported, not only by the amazing staff but by the people who come to group and share their experience. This place has none of the dogmatism of a twelve step group. I have nothing against 12 step but the "all or nothing" approach where you get chips and count days never worked for me. It's been a long slog but I've been in recovery now for 5 years going steady and I owe my thanks to the good people who run this place. I think the community owes this establishment a huge debt. The stories you'll hear of the struggles of people from all walks of life during groups makes you realize that without a place like this, there would be a lot of funerals taking place. Addiction doesn't discriminate based on your socio economic status or skin color. You'll see people from every walk of life come together here to support one another. It's a beautiful thing.

If you are serious about getting mental help for mental disorders this is the place to go I've been seeing Kyle for about a month now and he is a really good counselor to take advice from I will continue to be coming back for my treatment and I look forward to sharing good stories with the counselor as the future goes on, and the psychiatrist is a really smart man I can see he's got a good 25 or 30 years of experience in the field at doing what he does best throughout my experience coming here my satisfaction rating is a 10 on a 1 to 10 scale I'd give this place 10 stars if possible.

This school should be the model of how we do education in America. Our son is on the spectrum and went from being bullied and failing public high school to being supported and nurtured while thriving academically when he started at Glen Oaks. All the teachers and supporting staff are experts at what they do and will help your student learn no matter what the challenges. If you're searching for a school for your student, stop looking and send your student to this school. We are fortunate we have this school in the Chicagoland area, wish they would open a college!

I categorically recommend GlenOaks Therapeutic Day School to parents for children who are struggling with social emotional issues. 

For our son, with his then severe separation and other anxieties, as well as some learning disabilities, it made all the difference in his having a good and happy childhood, and to his having progressed normally into adulthood. It provided him with the support he needed from 3rd grade through his junior year in high school, when he then very successfully mainstreamed into our very good public high school. And, because of GlenOaks, our son was able to go on to to a very successful college experience, including doing very well in his college’s honors academic program, and being a leader in college activities. GlenOaks provided our son with the safe and supportive atmosphere that he needed to work through his issues, while still allowing him to be learning and taking part in other normal day-to-day childhood school activities. These included art, music, and sports, none of which he would have done had he not been at GlenOaks. Further, had our son been in a traditional school, we’re sure that his anxieties would have caused him to be targeted by bullies. And we’re quite sure that that would have exacerbated what was already our son’s diminishing self-confidence and happiness. In contrast, at GlenOaks TDS, he was not bullied, and gained great satisfaction in and confidence from the successes that he had as he progressed through the school’s activities, curriculum and behavioral support programs. We were always impressed with the quality, abilities and commitment of each of the teachers at GlenOaks TDS. They understood our son’s challenges and were always kind while firm in helping him, providing him with an understanding of his struggles and ways to overcome them, a piece at a time. Our son learned self-advocacy skills there that have been integral to his continued and growing successes in his five years since leaving GlenOaks. We have nothing but respect for the GlenOaks TDS program, including the two administrators who founded and still run the school; the other administrators; and the outstanding and committed teaching staff. Because of his time at GlenOaks TDS, our son today is a self-confident, well-rounded, solid, enjoyable adult, as well as a responsible and compassionate person.

My family sought services through Pilsen Wellness Center because we wanted support for our child and genuinely hoped to build a partnership that would help him grow and succeed. Unfortunately, our experience over time left us disappointed. Our concerns were not based on one bad day or one isolated incident. They were based on a pattern. We experienced multiple appointment cancellations, limited communication regarding our child’s progress, and very little collaboration between the therapist and parents. As parents, we believe it is important to understand what goals are being worked on and how we can reinforce those goals at home. Too often, we felt disconnected from that process. In addition, our interactions with the front desk were frequently frustrating. Families seeking mental health services are often already under stress and trying their best to advocate for their children. We often felt dismissed rather than supported when asking questions, discussing scheduling concerns, or trying to understand our options. The customer service experience consistently left us feeling unwelcome. What disappointed us most is that we never felt like our concerns resulted in meaningful changes. Over time, trust and confidence in the process began to fade. We are sharing this review not out of anger, but out of a desire to provide honest feedback. We have decided to pursue services elsewhere because we believe our child needs a different level of support and communication. We sincerely hope the organization takes feedback from families seriously and continues working to improve both the quality of care and the overall experience for the people who walk through its doors. Families seeking help are often in vulnerable situations and deserve to feel supported from the moment they arrive.

It took a little over a week for them to first get in touch, but genuine apology was expressed and it seemed like unique circumstances. The evaluation process with Shelley was along the lines of what I expected. Having given thorough histories for other reasons before, I did not find it to be overly invasive. Thorough, not overly time- consuming. Fact- focused, not judgmental. At the end of the evaluation, I was told it may take a week to hear anything. It took longer, but I've my attorney reached out to remind Tools For Life, the response was prompt. Can't give five stars yet because I am still waiting for the last phase of this process to be completed, but so far good people to work with.

Since posting, my nurse practitioner Kelly Ryan personally followed up with me and took the time to listen and address my concerns. She also spoke with her staff, and that meant a lot to me as a long-time patient. I’ve been coming to this office for over 25 years, and while I was really discouraged by a recent visit, I truly appreciate the care and accountability shown afterward. Feeling heard and supported as a patient makes all the difference, especially in a medical setting, and the follow-up helped restore some of the trust I’ve had here for so many years. I’m hopeful this reflects a positive step forward, and I appreciate the effort made to ensure patients feel valued and cared for.

My stay at this psych ward was not pleasant. A lot of the staff were disrespectful and rude. I was in the adolescence program around 2021. My favorite staff was Latroya and Cory, they were so nice. The day I was getting discharged, Melissa threatened me that I wouldn’t be getting discharged because I talked about how I make impulsive decisions during group therapy. When releasing me to my parents, she brought me in the elevator with her and was being unprofessional. Staff would also constantly gossip about other patients. The level system is dehumanizing. The fact that you cannot talk to anyone or sit by anyone but staff when you first get there is outrageous. The food was very good though. I learned new coping mechanisms, however I felt worse than when I came in. Also they’re very quick to put you on medication. I think that is odd, my opinion is that they just want to drug you up to give you short term solutions to long term problems.

Some kind of insurance scam going on in this facility, fake patients using cell phones, local actors, when asked a fellow patient if she had done any acting or modeling, because I had seen her in the entertainment section of the Daily Herald, she said no, but then ran to the nurse station and said, "I think she suspects something, I don't want to stay in the same room with her. Ran off when she saw me, nurse follows her, not knowing I was there, I ask, is everything ok? Nurse replies, Why would she be, you attacked her! Never happened. I requested all the legal records, and found massive false statements. Cost me thousands of dollars of not covered insurance costs and left me with PTSD. This place is a completely abusive scam. Never allow anyone to be duped into being in this corrupt facility. Shame on them. Lara,Sue Aimee Dawn Dwight Johnx2 Alex Linda Christine Kurt , all fake patients using cell phones, Alvie, the employee, various creepy nurses, aggressive threatening, you are unknowingly drugged without your permission. It is the scariest unethical facility. I barely made it out of there alive.
