My grandson is there and I was scared at first I didn't even know what the property looks like or anything but it's pretty much way out in the boondocks seen plenty of corn fields and it's located down a long gravel road I was like oh my God there's not even blacktop roads but we got there and it's like a couple separate buildings and my grandson was so happy he didn't act like he wanted to go home or juvie LOL the staff was very nice it's way more than I expected I had told my grandson that I would like to try to maybe donate some stuff for them to do you know games and stuff like that but he said no mamaw we have plenty of stuff to do I get to choose my chores and I chose to cut grass what she likes because his papa never lets him we're about an hour and a half for longer away from there but it's really nice as we were there they was cooking them po'boys french fries and I'm trying to think something else but he said he's eating very good there and you know they pretty much mentor them and cancel them and they don't see race the one man that works the board is you know the one that told me that and he was so kind to us he seemed like he really cared about my grandson

This was the first rehab I had ever went to. This was in 2015 or 16 well they were located I think in Lafayette and when I got signed in to stay they were moving like the 3rd day that I was there to sunset location . It was cool to see . The old one looked like a house it was cool . I had came in and almost passed out and the nurses and staff made sure I was ok and saw a doctor and that mentally I was okay . I may not have been at my best but the staff and everyone here was so beyond kind and cared about everyone's sobriety and it was individualized and personal . It was pricey back then I'm not sure about now . I had ended leaving but I never forgot and alot of people will say it's about how people treat you that people remember. It helped me in the sobriety process . They were still kind and wanted me to stay so much but I needed something else . Well because I had went for the time length I stayed I got an AA book and I kept it all these years and today it still helps and has helped heal me. If it wasn't for that place I wouldn't know the AA way.

I have been a professional interventionist since 2010. I was introduced to this program in 2012. I have been referring there since then. My clients have always had a positive experience and the clinical and support staff are the most responsive and knowledgeable. My 7 year old son was sent here bc his Dr gave him a strong dose of adhd meds and my son didn’t do well with it. He had hallucinations & anxiety really bad. This staff not all but some were horrible to my child. Mind you he’s only 7 and has never been away from me ever! He has never slept away from me and much less with strangers. So of course he cried his little eyes out as did I. I rented a hotel room in the city bc I lived 4 hours away and there was no way I was leaving my baby there by himself. I wanted to feel close to him and I
Kept reassuring him that everything would be fine and mommy was right down the road. But my kid still cried all day every day. So they gave him shots to calm
Him down which I’m sure didn’t help his fear. Mind you my son is albino they kept him outside for hours until he was sunburnt! I was told he would stay there for 6 days. It ended up turning into 13 days! The longest 13 days of my life. All bc he wouldn’t stop crying. Duhh he’s a damn baby! Thankful to the one lady I had a talk with. She was so understanding. I can’t remember her name. But when I told her our situation she assured me my baby would be discharged the very next day and he was! I couldn’t wait to get my baby and run as fast as I could . God is so good bc my baby never needed treatment. He wasn’t a bad kid or a kid who wanted to harm himself or others. He simply needed a detox from his meds. Almost a year later and no meds and my son is happy and thriving again! This place was horrible and didn’t put any of the clothes I sent with my child. They lost his clothes to other kids. He would have a dirty face when I visited him everyday. I just thank God for recovery and a full restoration over my baby! The doctors got it wrong but God!!!!

So this is a very long interesting review of my experience over the weekend at St. James behavioral Hospital. It all started. It all started when I brought myself to the ER because I could not stop crying and I was just overwhelmed over life. I didn’t have any huge behavior issues nor did I feel like I was gonna harm myself or anyone else but anyway they sent me to St. James to be evaluated as I arrived on a Saturday I came in through ambulance and was told to put on gowns. They said they were gonna wash my clothes by 3 PM that day my clothes still have not been even taken from the office where they were originally put in at 6 AM in the morning. They had ran out of breakfast so they gave me a sandwich chips and rice crispy treat I was forced to stay and gowns for at least a full day in the next morning and finally my clothes brought to me. I had a roommate that I’m not sure what was her issue. She was much older than me, which was fine. I told the text when Sunday morning that she had left a mess in the bathroom, including a dirty diaper and a tissue with unknown substance by Monday morning when I was finally released that diaper was still there Every couple hours I had to change out my socks that they forced me to wear due to the fact, I was stepping on unknown substances. I’m not sure what was on there for the most part. The tech seemed very frazzled, which was not their fault because they are extremely short staffed with the amount of patient Saint James Takes it at a time and most of these patients are very sick. The place itself was very dirty there was no sanitizing going on that I was aware of and I only seen them mop once in my room there was several patients that needed a one on one and I also noticed with that the patient text from 101 had to get changed out every hour to hour and a half because they were just too frazzled and could not deal with it once again not their fault because they probably just were not trained and they are also very shortstaffed. The nurse is for the most part was nice but they did not give me my medication. That I was prescribed until Sunday night. I asked repeatedly for it from Saturday on Sunday and they said the pharmacy had not brought it because it was the weekend. I’m not sure how that works with them or what pharmacy they use, but it was a pain medication that I’m prescribed to take twice a day I had to go up there and asked for Ativan just to take the edge off because I’ve been on the medication for so long. They did comply and give me the Ativan. The food was brought in from Baton Rouge General Hospital I’m assuming because that’s what they told me the industrial soap that they told us that we needed to use along with the role on hospital deodorant was just disgusting. I’m not sure where they get it from or who made it, but it was in an industrial bottle like you were put hand soap and restrooms and places There was only one group during the weekend
per day that I attended and then a
Rule group in the evening that went over the rules I guess in case they had new patients come in. I am not sure most of the evening staff was a bit calmer, but I feel like they do not have to deal with us all day like the people on morning shoved so They were able to be a little bit more easy. I’m not sure with that. Either the place itself is very sad looking they have nothing as of like a painting on the wall or positive notes or anything. We basically sat in the room all day and watch TV or went to our rooms we had to go for nap time which I thought was a little crazy, but I believe it’s just so that staff can collect themselves from dealing with us most of the day. I’m not sure. I know that when I finally left Monday morning and I went and looked at my health insurance I was built $3000 for a three day stay and they couldn’t even have the generic form swave or anything like that of soap. I believe that is incredibly sad because nothing was done to me while I was in there $3000 is a lot of A lot of money for I hope corporate sees us and reaches out to me

I understand the staff does the best they can with so mny patients but This place obviously does not see old smelly and cloudy urine as a manipulated form for a drug screen. My husband has been doing this FOR YEARS to take opiates like roxys, or do meth, and hasn't been caught. The dosage he take makes him "nod out" WHILE DRIVING, OR STANDING STILL!!!! He uses an old take home bottle and puts HIS URINE in bottle which is when he wasnt taking opiates so he would be clean, puts that in the microwave then between his crotch so temp stay where it needs to!! The urine is old MONTHS OLD. Testing is a joke and stricter policy's need to be put in place!! Ive lost my husband and he will eventually die. Hes been on this crap for at least 12 YEARS!!! 12 YEARS AND STILL NOT EVEN CLOSE TO RECOVERED. he only goes here SO HE HAS SOME KIND OF DRUG TO TAKE DAILY incase other drugs aren't around or can't afford them!!!

A family member of mine has been in and out of behavioral facilities for quite some time. It can be difficult following the progress and watching loved ones struggle.
The staff at Oceans (Ms Jennifer) have been extra supportive and gone out of their way to assist in any way they can.
Thank you all !

Well, there is always room for improvement. Regardless of what a place may specialize in. I was a patient there. Most people dont understand what the staff is up against daily. In my opinion, they do what is best for the patient. Although there are patients who require alternative measures. The patients mental, and physical well being is always their main concern.

Bunkie General helped my family when we had a Christmas day ankle sprain emergency. The staff were helpful, prompt and thorough. The hospital also provides an excellent Heart Health Center where I can use the gym which has excellent fitness equipment, cardio machines and weights. The hours are very flexible and there are many patients including some of my friends and family who are members and work through their doctor and physical therapist after surgery for heart and health rehab. These services are essential and well managed. I highly recommend Johnathon the fitness trainer at the Hospital, he has quickly helped me achieve some of my personal health goals.
