The day after my daughter turned 16 she was admitted at New Beginnings. This is certainly NOT the sweet 16 I had imagined. I had spent the last 9 months trying to figure out what was going on with my daughter. The night before her 16 birthday I located her with friend completely wasted to a dangerous level. She revealed she had a plan to kill herself so I immediately took her to the emergency room. She went to a hospital for a day or two until I could get her enrolled. A good friend was a drug and alcohol professional and recommended New Beginnings. It is hard to leave your child with strangers in another state but what other choice did I have? I knew this was a life or death situation. The staff took good care of her and helped her begin a journey of sobriety. It was not an easy journey for her or our family. The staff remained in close contact with us and tried to help us as a family. Most importantly they saved my daughter. This July she will celebrate her 6th year of sobriety. I could not be more grateful for this staff. Their attention to detail and care of my entire child was incredible. My daughter is alive, sober and thriving as a young adult because of these professionals.

This facility really saved my life. I was in and out of psych hospitals from various drug overdoses and suicide attempts. After I was expelled from my high school, my addiction became extremely worse. after about two months of of extreme use of alcohol and opiates, i had my last drink and shot up for the first time. I went to a hospital with a BAC of .43. My mom found this treatment center when I was detoxing in a mental health facility. I finally agreed to go which was the beginning of my new life. Everyone at the facility got what i was going through. If you’re looking for a place to send your kid who is struggling with substance abuse i highly, highly recommend this place.

I came here back in 2008. I was at my lowest point in my life. I lost everything that mattered including myself & I was more than ready. I had already been to a few different treatment facilities before this point but i wasn’t never ready. I was doing it for the courts or for my concerned family. You have to do it for yourself. I finally hit that “rock bottom” I kept hearing about. I lost the father of my daughter to an overdose and then custody of my daughter soon after. I was there at the bottom of the dark pit I dug for myself. But there is light and little by little I dug myself out. But with work!! Fairview was my first step and I really loved this place. I had the best counselor(I can’t remember her name, maybe Ms. Cheryl?)and group members. I met some really cool people that I still talk to sometimes. This place helped to start my healing journey. I continued with outpatient treatment, got a full time job, my first apartment & I finally got my daughter back. She is now 18 and doing great. I’m happily married with a very strong support system. It’s possible to change & I highly recommend this place.

There isn't enough space to say how I feel about Lake Wellness. I woke up on 9/10/23 and decided to reach out to them via online. I filled out a form and was called within minutes offering help. I honestly could not do it by myself. The staff there is exceptional. The counselors there were exceptional. And the doctor very caring. Everytime I went in I felt like I was walking into home and knew I was safe. Thank you so much Lake Wellness, yall saved my life!!!!!

The staff is amazing here they really care about you and your sobriety. This was the best desicion I took. From Mr Devan teaching and breaking down everything in a way that a 2 yr old will understand it. By the time he's done with you your going to learn and understand your addiction and the disease. About the mental obsession and the physical allergy. You'll see what it means to see someone love and live his calling in helping others. From Miss Tori recieving you on Day 1 when your nervous and scared She'll make you feel calm and at ease before passing you to the next person. To Mr Rick doing your admission even he makes you feel at ease and relaxed and Your treated as a human being without any judgements sometimes you forget what it is to be treated like a person and not be seen as something less. From the Counslers Mr Alfred, Brandon. They really take helping you in your journey really serious. Mrs Ronda and Mario wow do they open your eyes thru certain excersize and experiences That you'll take part in i wont spoil it but if you want to experience life changing moments this is the place to be. The Staff is just so amazing and caring and take their role in helping you very serious and to the heart. From all the Techs that go to the ends of the world to help you and take care of you as best as they can and do as much as they are able to do trust they will do with love and empathy.The detox Techs Rachel ,JT, Mr Henry they make detox very comfortable. In Residential when you come in from detox and the residential techs Felix,Deval, Mr Jefferson,Jada, Carly, Cara,BIG Mike these Techs go all out for you. And they truly love you. As long as your respectful and mindful and respect their time and effort they put in helping you without even knowing you but all these staff members show you love and kindness that you haven't experienced in a long time. and without any judgment and putting you down becasue they been in your shoes and know what you are feeling and going thru casue basically all have been where you are. This is a life changing program trust me when it say that and I garuntee if you really want and take your sobriety serious then this is where you want to go and be. Please if your second guessing if you should go just take the leap of faith and go. you won't regret it and you'll be glad you did. The place is super clean . The food is amazing. Your stay is very comfortable. They try to remove any obstacle that can or will deter you from achieving sobriety so that you can just focus on you and your sobriety. This program was very educational and supportive during my personal recovery journey. I met some really wonderful people, staff were friendly and caring. Paul was my counselor and I can’t say enough about his true compassion and gentle yet eye opening approach in both his group classes and our individual sessions. He takes his time and genuinely seems to want to be there, helping his clients. We did 2 family sessions that really helped my husband and I improve our communication. Dr. Caudill is one of the best psychiatrists I’ve ever been treated by- his bedside manner is awesome. I learned a lot about myself in 9 weeks and became much more involved in the AA program thanks to Alchemy offering on site AA meetings weekly. The group sessions allow you to “check in”, learn a topic, and receive support if you’re needing to process something difficult. At the end of treatment you have the opportunity to share your personal story which was a big weight off my shoulders sharing where I’ve been and where I am now. The certificate and chip they give you upon graduation are a really special way to celebrate completing the program. I give this outpatient rehab 5 stars for friendliness, professionalism, effectiveness and even enjoyment. Thank you Alchemy, I’ll never forget this experience and most of all, thank you for helping me seize my life back.

I had the best experience here! I have tried 2 other IOPs in the area, this one is by far the best. This company really cares and they really helped me. The entire staff is kind and efficient. The doctor on staff is excellent and encouraging. I learned so much from my counselors and my group mates. My son was there for one year 2024-2025 and he completed the programs, classes meetings and then lived at Genesis Sober Living. He would be in jail or dead if it wasn’t for the Sanctuary. I have worked in the substance use disorder and mental health field for many years and when I discovered Sanctuary Louisiana I never knew such a unique place existed in Louisiana. They offer three levels of therapeutic care, the traditional 28 Day Program, a halfway house (which are hard to find in Louisiana) and an IOP program. As another benefit sober living homes are available that are actually supervised with random drug screens. What is even more unique is that they have a highly qualified counseling and medical staff, find jobs for clients in the halfway house program instead of throwing in the world to find their own jobs and provide transportation to and from work. The whole spectrum of services provides a gradual exposure to life's stressors as opposed to 28 days and you are on your own. Long term treatment is what works for those with substance use disorders and those that complete the program have higher than average success rates in regards to sustained recovery. Substance use disorders don't develop overnight and years of addiction requires long term treatment as that is not overcome overnight either. Especially when most people with addictions have a substance use disorder and a mental health disorder, called co-occurring disorders All of the client's psychiatric and physical health needs are met as they provide medication management services with a PNP and an MD. It is a gem in plain sight.

Can't speak for today, but I entered Tau Center 3/5/95 (29.5 years ago. Week 1 in the detox ward, 2 in the inpatient wing, 3&4 outpatient. I have now been sober 10,797 days, ODAT!! God is good!!

Star was communicating with my mom to get me brought all the way from Oregon and answered any questions we had. I went in for alcohol treatment, I was VERY bad off and she helped set my moms mind at ease going through this. I unfortunately dont remember my first few days there during detox but today makes 235 days sober and im so grateful to have been placed in her hands. I recently brought my cousin there to detox as well and she was more than happy to answer my call and line everything up to make his process as pain free as possible. I cant thank the staff enough.

I don't have enough words to explain how thankful I am. They were so kind and explained everything. They checked on me often and made.sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. I was only here three days and they set me up on outpatient care in lake Charles. I can't believe this place was just an hour down the road. I have my life back and I am so grateful.
