The day after my daughter turned 16 she was admitted at New Beginnings. This is certainly NOT the sweet 16 I had imagined. I had spent the last 9 months trying to figure out what was going on with my daughter. The night before her 16 birthday I located her with friend completely wasted to a dangerous level. She revealed she had a plan to kill herself so I immediately took her to the emergency room. She went to a hospital for a day or two until I could get her enrolled. A good friend was a drug and alcohol professional and recommended New Beginnings. It is hard to leave your child with strangers in another state but what other choice did I have? I knew this was a life or death situation. The staff took good care of her and helped her begin a journey of sobriety. It was not an easy journey for her or our family. The staff remained in close contact with us and tried to help us as a family. Most importantly they saved my daughter. This July she will celebrate her 6th year of sobriety. I could not be more grateful for this staff. Their attention to detail and care of my entire child was incredible. My daughter is alive, sober and thriving as a young adult because of these professionals.

This facility really saved my life. I was in and out of psych hospitals from various drug overdoses and suicide attempts. After I was expelled from my high school, my addiction became extremely worse. after about two months of of extreme use of alcohol and opiates, i had my last drink and shot up for the first time. I went to a hospital with a BAC of .43. My mom found this treatment center when I was detoxing in a mental health facility. I finally agreed to go which was the beginning of my new life. Everyone at the facility got what i was going through. If you’re looking for a place to send your kid who is struggling with substance abuse i highly, highly recommend this place.

After reading the reviews, we were terrified to leave our family member at Compass in Opelusas. However, we were pleasantly surprised. The social worker, Claire, was very helpful, keeping us updated with medication changes and progress reports. She was kind and never made us feel like an inconvenience when we called. Pam was patient and willing to listen to our concerns. Clara was such a sweet aide, taking extra time with her during her shift to ensure she didn't feel lonely. The psychiatrists were both very attentive to behavior changes and quick to make changes to medication when needed. She was in this facility for 11 days and we are happy to say we would recommend it to others!

Compass Behavioral Center is an excellent place if you are struggling with some mental health problems. The staff is probably a little rude but is because they are very disciplined and they do their work in the right way, all that they do is for the patient's benefit.

Learn to work the system by sending a BRIEF secure message to your healthcare team asking for specific help. Each Doctor has over 1000 patients and things always run smooth for me because no matter how much chronic pain I endure, my team has only helped me and I am NOT rude. Just try being nice & patient.

Needed to guest dose while driving through town on a very long road trip. Front window staff and the nurse who handled my paperwork were extremely helpful. I would definitely recommend to anyone who needs to do the same to be prepared, communicate with your home clinic and counselor to get the paperwork started as early as possible, that's what takes the longest. My wait wasn't as long as I was anticipating, especially for a Friday. Thank you very much to everyone there that made it possible for me to get my medication when I needed it very much.

The Staff was AMAZING!!! They seem to really care about helping you get back on track.... They did many activitys went above and beyond to make it a nice experance. They went out of their was to purchase "goodies" for us to be able to celebrate memorial day... honestly i dont have a clue how they have bad reviews..... Genisis really was very profesional...if they didnt allow you to do something it was to protect all patients and at the end the day THEY HAVE A JOB TO DO.. 10/10! 💚

Edgefield first caught my attention because of its location and history but upon arrival I was introduced to the compassionate staff that made me feel at home. The repuposed plantation house is such a charm with beautiful chandeliers, fireplaces, and paintings to gaze at between classes, meals, or in the afternoon. The staff was so caring and involved in my recovery process. They genuinely are concerned for the patients and it shines through all of the employees, from the physicians, techs, and lunch room employees. Being set on a quiet bayou with lots of wildlife to observe and appreciate. I recommend a volleyball game during your stay. The food was amazing and filling, so if you are on a diet I suggest passing on the 2 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches they offer as snack. Thank you for helping me so that I could help others.

Absolutely beautiful grounds and the most supportive, caring, and loving staff. From the moment I walked in at Intake I immediately felt welcomed. Was greeted by staff that also had personaly experienced the recovery journey. Having that in common made it easier for me to be able to start forgiving myself and focusing on my sobriety. The techs were able to guide me , answering all my questions and calming my anxiety. There was plenty of other clients to talk to. We enjoyed fishing, volley ball and basketball. Staff even played with us. My counselor was able to listen, be empathetic but also hold me accountable. Which I needed more than I knew at the time. The atmosphere was relaxing and perfect for my self healing. I can't thank Edgefield Recovery Center enough for giving me the opportunity to get my life back. One I am proud of. I would strongly recommend Edgefield to anyone ready to start their journey. We had nightly AA meetings, small groups, one on one counseling, mediation, yoga, gratitude, family meal's. (BTWThe food is Great!!)Edgefield Recovery Center saved me. The discharge planner was even able and willing to work with me to find me a sober living home in my preferred area to where I was able to get a job, have transportation and begin on a healthy path!! This is by far the best recovery center in Louisiana As with all of them, you won't want to come, can't wait to leave, but here only you don't want to leave. The environment , atmosphere, food, and being treated with trusted freedom is the best. You learn so much about yourself, which counselors are on point, to help you deal and cope with life issues, which I have never done properly before or knew how. Great staff hands down. I came to this place the 19th of December 2024. It was a nice facility! They treated me with respect and compassion. The techs/nurses played bingo with us, we did arts and crafts, they took us outside for fresh air, they were all for the most part very professional and caring! A few people stood out to me. I was on the quiet wing and made friends while I was there. I am so very thankful for the staff at this place!!!

I have been to several Rehab centers. This the best Rehab I have been too, the Counselors, are excellent. The Clinical Director Donna, is Great. She has a zero tolerance for Foolishness. The groups, are engaging and deal with the coor of the clients addiction.

Counseling and group therapy are the best things about this place in my experience. The staff is friendly and supportive. If you apply yourself and are willing you will be able to learn a lot. Ms. Jaline and Ms. Abmer are truly remarkable individuals. I personally struggled with sobriety for a long time and have explored other recovery programs in the past. I'm about to leave this facility next week, and can honestly say the experience and staff has been good to me. Couldn't have asked for a better rehab to help me out of addiction. The staff, therapist, and the group I was with were really helpful in my recovery and I'd say it's a 10/10 overall experience. Oh and the food in the kitchen is amazing. "Shit be good" 😂

This treatment center saved my life! The entire staff from therapists to peer support to techs were kind, helpful, and always ready to chat if things were going wrong. Stina and Michelle are some of the best most thorough therapists I've ever met and they actually truly care about everybody there. When the parenting and pregnant women program was cut Stina and the women over that program let us know immediately and jumped into action to help each woman figure out a plan. I am so thankful for MSDATC for saving my life and giving me a whole new outlook on life!

During my stay at the facility, the staff members were the most important part of my recovery. They went above and beyond to ensure that I had everything I needed to embrace this new chapter of my life. Stina was especially helpful with organizing my future endeavors to ensure my sobriety. Of course, I can't say enough about Brooke's cooking! The awesome salad bar and those shrimp and grits are to die for!! Highly recommend treatment here!!
