While enduring a brutal chemotherapy and radiation treatment protocol for Stage 4 cancer and with my wife pregnant and the birth of our third son imminent my evil mother in law used this as an opportunity to steal our kids with outrageous lies to DCFS and to get our kids back we both were ordered into IOP for Substance Abuse regardless of what I was found to have was prescribed by my cancer Dr. I wasn't real hopeful for this government funded agency but I couldn't have been more wrong Our counselor, Ms Pearl Watson facilitated a diverse class of court or job ordered clients with a firm hand that demanded accountability but rewarded those in compliance . with compassion, empathy and a deep knowledge of tools to access for sustainable recovery. The Clinical director , I believe named Tianna had designed a treatment plan that was easy to learn, and encouraged us to reveal things about our behavior that didn't seem apparent at the time.These people were a rare mix of empathy and creative genius that make me grateful for the program and i will be eternally grateful for the impact they made in my life and the others I consider family forever. Great place that makes me sad to leave.

I don't know I was here for 1 year and 3 months and I would say there's people that don't deserve to work here, but I don't wanna focus on that I wanna focus on those that help me those that would listen to me talk or let me go outside to get fresh air or make sure I didn't get fish sticks or sloppy joe cause I didn't like that food or those that would play card games, any board game. This is a true review about Ocean behavioral health on Howell Boulevard in Baton Rouge.
My significant other Went to Umc New Orleans, at least four times this year, each time being discharged without being better.
This last time, Umc did not accept the Behavior health section at Umc center two hours away to Ocean Baton Rouge. At the time this was troubling to me, but, turned out to be a good thing because Umc was very difficult to deal with as a caregiver. Ocean Baton Rouge is like night and day compared to Umc, Ocean was cleaner and better maintained then Umc, and the staff could not be any nicer or more professional. the staff at Oceans always answer the phone
always answers your questions, and they are always nice and polite and professional .I would recommend to anyone in need of help with behavioral health to consider Ocean Baton Rouge, Two hours one way is a long trip to make, but I would gladly make it instead of the 20 minute one way to Umc. I would absolutely bring my loved one to Ocean and the future. Should she ever need Behavior health help again.

It was the best decision I made for myself. The staff is professional and friendly, and always there. I'm very thankful for the staff, doctor's, nurse,counselors,and techs. When I came I was lost, and now that I'm graduating I have been fine. Worst hospital ever. Last year 11-18-24 I went into the er at 23 weeks pregnant after watching my babies head come out of me at home, they tried to send me home saying I wasn’t in labor after I myself watched him come out. They finally decided to transfer me to st Francis in Monroe and I had my baby the next morning who lived for 6 days. I’m now pregnant again and high risk, 35 weeks, I went into the er on 15th thinking I was in preterm labor again and after they checked me out they told me I was in labor but I have my cervix stitched closed due to cervical incompetence so they can’t tell if my cervix is dilated, they sent me to drew memorial via ambulance and turns out I was just dehydrated. Please do not ever go here if you value yours or your loved ones life.

The staff bent over backwards to help me get a cardiac event under control. The staff in the ER and CCU were very accommodating and genuinely concerned about my health. Ms. Vanessa and Ms. Emily in the CCU are caring and very professional!! I would go back if I lived closer.
