Just checking in on you guys. Thank You for all your help and the tools to stay clean. I left about four years ago and was at 120 . After about 45 days of going thru withdrawals I finally gave in to Suboxone. My next step is the shot. Hi Bill and glad to see you're still here. TY for always being cool and I'll never forget you. I think I was 518 and can only imagine what number you're on today!!
Addicts do recover when they choose to!!!! Ty QBH for the tools to stay clean by making me go to group and therapy 🙌. Which made me start going to NA meetings. I believe in early recovery you gotta do 90/90. 90 meetings in 90 days to start change 😉😎. Remember to give yourself a break and get into NA to start working the steps of NA. The books how and why were my best tools. You must have a sponsor to work the steps. You can't do the steps alone because how do you know if you're doing them right 👍 and you'll have a friend forever.

Been here since '19 and I will most likely be a lifer. This place's functionality can vary from day to day, which isn't ideal for people trying to stabilize. That said, the NPs (Doctors everyone calls them) are 11/10. Reene (sorry about spelling) andTonya are absolute angels, doing Gods work. Swriously they couldn't be better. The front desk ladies are good too, always busy. And thank god for the nurses too. They have been reliable lately and that is nice. Going to ARD was the best decision I ever made. I debated it for so long. The phone staff was very supportive and patient. And answer 100 questions for me and let me talk to past patients. The hospital is nothing glamorous but the staff is outstanding and the doctor is experienced and so nice. Not Dr.-ish. The procedure was amazing. I couldn’t believe I woke up the next day and didn’t have any cravings. They took excellent care of me. The food could be better there but then again it is hospital food. It has been eight months since I used any opiates my life has changed for the better and it’s all thanks to ARD. After eight years on heroin, they gave me my life back just like they promised.

Southfield, MI | Ascension Eastwood Clinic at Greenfield in Southfield, Michigan, is a comprehensive healthcare facility that serves men and women who are experiencing struggles with their behavioral health or have a co-occurring substance use disorder. Just my opinion?
As for the program, saved my life ! When I really didn't care to myself, I learned a lot while I was there.
Most importantly I somehow had the epiphany that I never went to treatment because I wanted to quit using drugs, I went to treatment because I still wanted to use despite heavy consequences and I didn't know how to stop, and I had exhausted every resource I could come up with to continue using.
I have now been drug and alcohol free for 17 months and my life is better than ever, I didn't expect to get this far , this easily.
A certain staff member really helped me in making the next next decision on where to go from Eastwood that was a very important decision, not to go back into the same environment where I consistently succeeded to use a failed to stay clean, now matter how many reasons I came up with, or who else I could convince that it was a sound decision.

This is far and away the best in-patient rehab center in Southeast Michigan. The overwhelming majority of negative reviews are predicated upon "I didn't stay sober!" or "My [son, brother, husband] didn't stay sober!" Sorry, but no recovery program can do the work on your behalf. Period. Eastwood provides and instills all the resources, tools, and planning that anybody needs to recover. Rehab is a stepping stool out of the hole you're in; unfortunately you still have to climb, or build the ladder (with 12 steps).
The majority of staff are themselves in recovery, and wholeheartedly dedicated to guiding others and sharing what they have achieved. There is not a better collection of people who sincerely want to save your life than Gwen, Eric, Tim, Kim, Jake, Jeremy, Jason... ALL of these angels. This building is a beacon of hope, a light that can help anyone find their way out of the darkness of addiction. I showed up here with nothing but desperation, and was provided with shelter, a warm bed, hot food, medical assistance, a wide-variety of programming that attacks my addiction from every angle. Eastwood provided everything from clothing and hygiene products to peer recovery coaching and out-patient aftercare, to long-term sober living once you complete programming. You can show up here broke, broken, and on the brink of death..and depart with literally everything you need to become your best you. They make sure you don't leave until you have housing or a safe place to go to. They make sure you have a plan for the necessary help after in-patient. They make sure you're ready, that you're okay.
If you or somebody you know has an alcohol or drug problem, Eastwood will truly provide every single thing needed to put the pieces of your life back together. This is an ongoing community, this is truly a brotherhood. This place and these people are keeping people out of cages and graves. They care. They will love you until you love yourself. Does that sound corny? I think killing yourself with drugs and alcohol sounds pretty corny. Pick one. This place matters <3

I went to Appleseed for 2 years. The counselor I went to was amazing but everyone else was awful. Someone disclosed personal information to a family member and then I didn’t get an apology until a year later…Someone else was unsupportive to my family and insulted them. And everyone there feels the need to overstep. The only reason I left 1 star is because of the counselor I went to. The old crisis counselor there always had a bad attitude about everything… you’re helping people in crisis a nice attitude would help. And the front desk staff will ignore you standing there for as long as they can. I would never go here again and I would never wish it upon anyone to go here.

Outstanding Support, Compassionate Care, and Top-Tier Service!
Appleseed is hands down one of the best mental health and housing organizations I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. From the very first interaction, their team showed incredible professionalism, compassion, and dedication to helping individuals and families through some of life’s toughest challenges.
Their mental health services are not only comprehensive but deeply personalized. Whether it's counseling, crisis support, or community outreach, Appleseed goes above and beyond to make sure every client feels seen, heard, and supported. Their housing assistance programs are just as impressive—providing safe, stable options that truly empower people to get back on their feet.
What sets Appleseed apart even further is their excellent marketing and outreach. They know how to connect with the community in a real and meaningful way. Their online presence is engaging, informative, and accessible—making it easy for those in need to find help fast. You can tell they truly care, and it shows in everything from their website to the way they engage on social media and in the community.
If you're looking for a place that genuinely makes a difference, Appleseed is it. Thank you to the entire team for the incredible work you do. You are changing lives every single day.

I was seen by emergency staff and Dr’s as a walk-in. I was in excruciating pain from a pinched nerve/cervical radicuopathy. Titanium plate in neck from neck surgery years ago. Service was very good. I was prescribed pain medication for 30 days. I was there approximately 2 hours.

DT Detox really stood out with their hands-on approach. From the start, they made sure I felt heard and understood — no cookie-cutter treatment here. The staff kept it real and gave me the tools to handle the tough days, not just the easy ones.Their support went beyond just detox; they helped me build a solid plan for staying clean long-term. The vibe was warm and welcoming, like they genuinely cared about me, not just the process. Definitely recommend if you want real talk and real results.

TL;DR: protect your children and do not bring them here.
This is an update to a review I originally left during COVID, but I would like to adjust the language. At the original time I left this review, this place had me hooked on anti-depressants so it was...neurotic, to say the least.
Back to the beginning, my parents started taking me here when I was 15. I was being treated for Generalized Anxiety and "some type of mood disorder" (yeah, that was their diagnosis for me). They started off by perscribing me 5 mg dose of Zoloft and set me up with a therapist that *my parents* liked. Put a pin in that, we'll come back to that later!
As they made it easy to schedule, I had regular check-ins with the physician (Dr. Stansefir, something like that), and this was where things started to go wrong. At almost every check in, as Dr. Stansfir(?) and her nurses/aids would hear about me having anxiety attacks at school/home, their solution was to increase my dosage.
In addition to this, whenever I tried to talk to my therapist (Jennifer Walter) about what was going on that was actually causing my anxiety attacks and how it contributed to the environment of home and school, her answer was always "Well, you know your parents love you!" She would guilt trip me because she was biased. This practice did not care about me.
So this went on all the way through COVID. The only reason I stopped going was because their financial office black listed me for $400 in unpaid appointments when my sliding scale expired and they neglected to tell me about it TWICE.
By the time that happened, I was living on my own during a global pandemic terrified of what life would be like without a 300mg dose of Zoloft. Yes. They kept increasing my dosage until I was on 300mg, when really all I needed were good coping mechanisms. It got so bad I couldn't even sit in a chair without rocking back and forth about it. There were times I thought the only solution was death. There were times they perscribed me ADDITIONAL medications that were "take as needed" that made me so anxious I couldn't see straight.
It's taken years of talking to other therapists and self exploration to find out that these people made my problems go from awful to worse. I am one of the lucky ones, as I was only able to do that because I managed to find a comfortable job after the pandemic that gave me the oppprtunity to take care of myself for the first time WITHOUT someone telling me I needed a pill.
