This facility is, by far, the best in Michigan for mental health services. Something they offer that I've never received before was a case manager. Helps schedule appointments, checks in every month, arranges appropriate services based on what is most helpful to you, and provides resources on absolutely anything you may need. My case manager Abby even offered to help me on miscellaneous tasks such as going through/organizing paper stacks, basically anything you can think of, they are willing to help you with at the office. Case manager Abby even picked up clothing donations for my children as we had fallen on hard times. She has so many resources and she's been like an angel helping me manage things to make it easier on me so I can focus on therapeutic work. It's quite amazing the service I've received from Easter Seals. The psychiatrist, Dr. Linsk, is the most knowledgeable and caring doctor I've ever had. He takes time at every appointment to listen to me. He keeps up to date on the latest research. He's even been the first to give me new diagnosises that go beyond generalized anxiety, depression, ect. As for therapy, I had the pleasure of meeting the best therapist I've ever had, Emma. Emma has since left as she was an intern, however, my success story continued as I met my next therapist. I've been to at least 6 other mental health centers and I've never been given any other therapy besides basic CBT talk therapy. My first meeting with the new therapist, I tell her I've been working on this same issue for 10 years, she selflessly said she'd like me to try another therapist who is trained in Exposure Therapy as it may be a better help for me. That other therapist came right in to the room with us, talked, and we all agreed to try this and that I can go back to regular therapy after completion. They even offer group therapy but I've not used that service. The therapists here are young and fresh and are educated on the latest research. They have a drive of providing quality care that I've never experienced before. The whole office is the top standard of mental health services. My only adverse experiences have come from the front desk. I am aware of how hard it is to deal with patients at the front desk. They always have to handle the problems and are looked to for a solution. I've witnessed patients not speaking very kindly to the ladies at the front desk, however, I have a few issues with them myself. Any time I come into the office, I wait at the counter behind glass while nobody acknowledges my presence. I listen to their personal stories as the whole waiting room can hear them. Someone from the back usually pops in after me standing in front of the window for 5 minutes and finally assist me. I've been forgotten to be checked in twice. I've had therapists calling me from inside their office to ask if I was coming today as I was in the waiting room well on time. Front desk is probably one of the toughest and lowest paying jobs at the center, however the front desk needs a lot of guidance because their quality does not match the quality of the whole office. The front desk staff brings the whole office score down and I hope to see that change in the future because the front desk is the first encounter for most clients. A lot of people who will benefit from this location may be deterred because of the mishaps. But overall, best service in Michigan. I don't understand the negative reviews as I feel the complete opposite. Especially since I've been told and feel comfortable asking for a change in therapists or doctors if I'm not finding a good fit. Therapy works both ways. I'm sure with the quality mental health providers, you will find a good match. I'm so thankful to have found this location and I encourage others looking for quality care to reach out for assistance. This may just be the last road to recovery of your mental health you'll need to walk. They provide so much support. I don't know how they do it all! Thank you. You've all been angels in my life! :)

I haven't had much luck making a good connection with the therapists, partially my fault for not making more time. But the psychiatrists have truly been a godsend. When I first set my appointment in 2020, I really was on the verge of not existing. Now it's four years laters and I'm days away from a college degree. Dr. Linsk is very professional and goes the extra mile to make sure you get what's needed from appointments and medications don't run out.

Clarkston, MI | New Oakland Family Center provides various mental health and co-occurring disorder services in Clarkston, Michigan. With comprehensive outpatient care, adults, adolescents, and children can get one step closer to achieving their recovery goals. One thing I like about them is they strive to make care accessible. Seeking co-occurring disorder care ca | Treatments Programs Payment Options | YOU ARE NOT ALONE!! GET THE HELP ITS WORTH IT!!!❤️❤️❤️
I truly can’t say enough about how much the New Oakland Clarkston location changed my life. I came in during a crisis, and I left feeling stable, hopeful, and genuinely happy. From the moment you walk through the doors, you’re greeted with open arms—there’s no judgment, just compassion, warmth, and professionalism.
I was part of the face-to-face program at 28 years old, and everything exceeded my expectations. The group therapy sessions were incredibly powerful and gave me tools I didn’t even realize I was missing. My group leader, Kailee, was with me for the majority of the program and is genuinely one of the most bubbly, kindhearted, and knowledgeable souls I’ve ever met. She created a space that was safe, supportive, and uplifting every single day.
Niki, my therapist, is truly amazing—so insightful, attentive, and caring. Dominique, the nurse, is an absolute gem—compassionate, patient, and always there when you need her. And Matt, the psychologist, didn’t waste any time helping me find the right medication and support. He took my concerns seriously and acted quickly, which made a world of difference.
The staff here truly care. It doesn’t feel like “treatment”—it feels like a community of people who love what they do and want to help you grow and heal. The food was great every day, the atmosphere was calming and structured, and they even gave us breaks for fresh air, which made a huge difference for my mental health.
This place gave me a full toolbox to take with me, and for the first time in a long time, I feel ready. But here’s the truth: you get out what you put in. If you show up, participate, and commit to the process, you will see change. This team will support you every step of the way, but you have to meet them there.
What sets New Oakland apart is that their care doesn’t stop when you walk out the door. They set you up with a real plan for continued support—and they actually follow through. I will forever be grateful for the experience I had here. This team helped me find myself again.
Thank you, New Oakland Clarkston. You saved me.

I recently was discharged from the PHP Face to Face program. It was an amazing program! I learned a lot of coping skills, and really felt that I was in a safe, non-judgmental facility.
I spent most of my time with Kailee. She is EXACTLY what the mental health world needs. She is so kind. She really takes the time to get to know. She challenges you, makes you get a little out of your comfort zone, and shows incredible support. I also had the pleasure of working with Martha and Dr. Harris. Both were so warm and friendly. You can tell they just want to see you feel better.
Everyone I encountered was so kind! They never made me feel bad or insecure about being there. Even the front desk ladies were amazing! The one who works check in was always in a great mood, and that helps you settle in and feel comfortable.
Overall, I highly recommend New Oakland in Clarkston if you’re in a dark patch. They will help you create an action plan to get you back to your best self! I hope I never hit a spot again where I need PHP again, but it’s great to know there’s such wonderful humans willing to help you. 10 out of 10 experience.

I have a family member who has been going to this methadone clinic for several years, and unfortunately, the environment has consistently felt unsafe and disorganized. Every visit seems to reveal more chaos—heated arguments between staff and patients often unfold right in the waiting area, with no effort to maintain discretion or professionalism.
It feels less like a place of recovery and more like a system designed to keep people dependent. There’s little sense of long-term healing—just maintenance on “legal dope.” The overall vibe is unsettling, and it’s hard to imagine anyone truly getting better in this environment.
I’ve waited in the parking lot before, and the surroundings aren’t much better. On one occasion, I saw a used syringe on the ground—not exactly reassuring for families trying to support a loved one’s recovery. The clinic shares a lot with a nearby restaurant, but the contrast between the two spaces couldn’t be more stark.
This is not a place I would recommend for anyone looking for real help or hope.

I am a skeptic when it comes to doctors and clinicians because of past experience with both myself and my children. But I can say with total confidence that Easterseals has done an amazing job helping my daughters and myself cope and adapt in a healthy way to live successfully in todays world. I can’t imagine being a teenager now a days, and as a parent, I would do anything to help my girls get through these tough years. Colleen has done a wonderful job helping us communicate even if it’s uncomfortable for both of us. She helped save my beautiful daughter from going into a very dark place. I see some do not share the same experiences we have with Easterseals, but I’ve been in and out with my girls over the years, and between the staff, docs, and therapists, they have all done an amazing job, considering what they too, have to deal with day in and day out. At times my girls had to change therapists in the middle of treatment, but they did an alright job matching them with someone similar. And if they are ready and willing to change, and it’s explained that stuff like this happens, we got through it. It’s hard to keep constant staff on hand all the time, so I understood. Thanks for all the help easterseals. You have a 5 star review from my family!!

After completing the hospital survey Ive decided to post a review on Google. Ive recently had a Major Cancer surgery at UM Medicine in Ann Arbor. Im so grateful and thankful to this team of Doctors, I want to say publicly just how good my care was during the time i was there. 5 days and 4 nights. I want to recognize(for their work and dedication) this team of Doctors for Excellence during that time. Dr Chaz Luke Stucken, Dr Lenze, and Dr Yu. There are others involved on this team but i was unable to get their names. This was my Third and hopefully final Cancer. Ive been fighting and Battling for three years now. These Doctors I’ve mentioned are in my opinion absolutely The Best Care I’ve ever received. They deserve the highest rating possible along with the Nurses that cared for me also. I would recommend my family and friends to go to Ann Arbor for Cancer or any serious illness. They kept me comfortable, explained and talked and especially Listened during my stay. IM forever grateful to my team of Doctors as IM about to beat Cancer again. I don’t have one negative thing or comment to report. Everything was The very best every minute I was there. They also provide services if you have a co-occurring drug, alcohol or substance use disorder. There are other specialized programs for various | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I’ve been using this office for a year now. I see two providers (psychiatrist, therapist)
Ramesh is a wonderful psychiatrist! I met her back in 2018, but only left because I got a therapist in a different office, where their policy was that I had to have their psychiatrist if I went to their therapist. I did not like the psychiatrist after Ramesh, I wanted to go back to her. I then moved states, where I had to change psychiatrists 3 times and went extended periods of time without one due to frustration. None of them worked for me. When I moved back to Michigan I was happy to come back to Ramesh, and was even happier that she remembered me after 5 years!
The therapist I started seeing in the office is Moray, him and I clicked immediately and it makes going to therapy both fun and actually fruitful. He has a 50:50 listening/feedback style and he’s very realistic, not sugar coating anything, not taking or giving bs. Sometimes the things he says does hit pretty hard, but I personally need that, and it’s always been for the best. Because of this I can make the changes I need to with more clarity and sometimes even prevent problems I was going to create by trying to fix other problems.
The office staff at the desk are very polite, I’ve never had any issues with them or getting ahold of them on the phone. I have however had issues with whoever deals with the medications. I was having a really big issue a while back with my sleep medication, so I called the office and explained, they directed me to the man that was dealing with the medications, I explained my issue.. he didn’t listen. In fact, when I tried to re-explain my problem as it was apparent he misheard me, he snapped at me, angrily telling me not to interrupt him and asked if I wanted my sleep meds or not. We ended up giving back and forth attitude over the phone for a bit, which is probably why my problem wasn’t fixed that day.
The office itself is always very clean, and so is the building it’s located in. The office itself doesn’t have a bathroom for guests, but the building has bathrooms near the elevators. Unrelated but I don’t know who is doing this, but every time I go into the women’s bathroom on the first floor it smells like the aftermath of 77 White Castle sliders, Taco Bell burritos, and grande Starbucks lattes. Whoever is doing that, for the love of all that is holy please bring febreze in your purse. It would save lives. Specifically mine.
So after careful consideration, the verdict is 4/5 stars, only taking one away because of the rude and unhelpful guy in medications.

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group, Recovery Medicine – Ann Arbor C | Treatments Programs Payment Options | Trinity Health IHA Ypsilanti, there are no words. The office staff are wonderful and very accommodating. Dr. Christensen is one of the best addiction specialists I've ever seen. I know this because I first started seeing Dr. Christensen when he was with Wayne State University, around 2011-2013. Never once while I was under his care did I ever feel like he didn't have my best interest in mind. I was never made to feel like I was less than a whole person. Because I truly feel that patients are treated like human beings at TrinityHealth IHA, which I'm sad to say isn't common in our healthcare system these days.

I've been a patient at St. Joe's both in ER and for surgeries multiple times. I have always received excellent care from 99% of the staff. The reason I didn't give 5 stars is due to the anesthesiologists not taking me seriously when I tell them I don't process certain pain medications and anesthetics the way most people do. I'm a retired RN who has been board certified in pain management. I've also worked in preop and recovery. I've studied how pain medications are processed in the liver and which enzymes are involved. Whenever I tell both the Anesthesiologist and the Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) that I will need either a block to the surgical sire at the end of the surgery, or that I will need a little more pain med before going to the Recovery room, they say they will "take good care of me", but I usually wake up in severe pain. Then it takes at least 30 minutes for them to do something about it. Meanwhile, the nurses in Recovery are doing their best to play catch up with the small amounts of pain meds they are allowed to give while we all wait for Anesthesia to come assess me and do what they should have done in the first place. This "one size fits all" attitude is unfortunate in light of all that is currently known about how the body processes medications and how genetics influences one's reaction to pain medications. They need to *listen* to the patient.
