This place is amazing period. I honestly don't believe any of the negative reviews, those are from people that do not have the ability to be pleased.The facilities are for helping people in need of the resources they supply and the resources are excellent. The staff is more than amazing every time I walk through the door!! I'd love to give them 10 stars!

This location has come along way compared to the way it was before. I’ve been coming here since 2022 and have had better progress and experience than I’ve had with any other facility in my part of Illinois/St. Louis. Although the psychiatric program is horrible and the therapy program would be excellent if you weren’t spending more time getting to know a new therapist every 6 months instead of working on your issues. (so when another job position opens up and pays more these therapist up and leave). For the most part I don’t have anything bad to say about this place my doctor is Kevin Garner and he’s the best primary care Provider that I’ve ever had. He cares and if he can help me with anything he does are points me into the direction I’m supposed to go. I recommend this place for anything from drug addiction to the flu are just getting your meds filled. Just go find a therapist or a psychiatrist somewhere else!!!

When I got almost half my lip bit off by a dog, everyone that took care of me was so beyond caring and I really did appreciate it. I do forget the name of the doctor that was able to stitch the part that was hanging off but I want to thank you so much!! 4 and a half months later, Dr. Chen at SLU says I dont need surgery anymore! Its healed up exponentially from what it was, thank you guys!!! Sorry for the acne

I AM VIETNAM COMBAT VETERAN. THE VA HAD NO ROOMS SO I HAD TO CHOOSE FROM 4 HOSPITALS. SO HAD PREVIOUSLY TAKEN MY WIFE WHO HAS MS TO ST. JOSEPH'S AND WE WERE VERY PLEASED WITH THE WAY SHE CARED FOR. SO I CHOSE TO GO TO ST. JOSEPH'S I HAD SERIOUS LEG INFECTION THAT DID NOT ALLOW ME TO WALK. THEY OPERATED ON ME QUIKLY AND I WAS WALKING IN A WEEK. THIS HOSPITAL IS AWESOME 👌

I was here back in 2010; obviously grew up a lot since then, I enjoyed this more than school and remember it significantly, only wish that I could of been able to sit outside more.

I used to be depressed and suicidal, but now I'm only a little depressed and not suicidal at all. Tysm ilysm. And I hope you still have that picture of you. I'm crying rn if you actually respond. 🥰🥰🥰 I really want to go back even though I'm all better. If you have any suicidal thoughts go see a counselor, or go to mercy/ hospital but only if you don't feel safe at home. Don't make suicide into a joke. It's a serious thing. Physicians and Nurse Practitioners were very professional and thorough.

The doctors and nurses at the hospital we're very nice and took good care of me. The facilities are dated and in need of many repairs. I was in different rooms throughout the hospital and the TVs did not work properly. One of my rooms had water running out of the bathroom across the floor. SSM needs to spend some money rehabilitating the hospital.

Have been in and out of different hospital for several years.. best service and care so far.

I recently finished treatment at the Aviary. It changed my life. All of the counselars truly care about every single clients and are awesome helping you in anyway they can. The nurses are super awesome and friendly. The coaches care and run their butts off helping all the clients. The admin office will work their butts off helping in anyway they can(especially hounding your hr department at work to get your insurance info when they drag their feet getting the info sent off). The kitchen staff are awesome, they work so hard fixing good food and they deliver. Love ya Miss Debbie!!!! Nothing bad to say about the Aviary. Thank you so much for helping me. As a former client I have to say Aviary was a life changing experience. The staff really cared for us and was always willing to help. I learned so much from them. Addiction is a killer. I’m so happy and grateful for my experience there. I’m still sober and living my best life in recovery. I would recommend the Aviary to anyone.

Paije Douglas is absolutely AMAZING!!! I’ve never met anyone who is so devoted to helping people get clean! If you are truly looking to change your life and stop abusing opiates, I highly recommend coming to St Louis Metro Treatment Center and joining the IOP program that she is in charge of. She goes out of her way to get people set up with medical detox and then sober living and/or whatever other arrangements you need in order to be in a safe place so you can start healing! We have a lot of fun in her groups while still learning a lot about our addiction. Thank you Paije, from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU for helping me get my life right and supporting my recovery! I couldn’t have done it without you!!!

This place was all about helping others get to the starting point in your life to see there is life out there without drugs if you want it that bad you can have it . Even though I left there and I relapsed 4 years ago that was my choice that I made because I wasn't ready then . Now I'm thriving ,sober ,have my kids back in my life ,and a new baby girl . This place made a big impact on my life that's why I'm writing this review 4 years later after I left. Some of the staffs inspiring stories and words is what got me to where I am today and I'm very thankful for that. Recovery will only work if u let it and it's hard work but yout have to put in the work to get in life you want to go . Don't give up . I would be lieing if I said recovery is easy but one day u will wake up and realize it gets easier u just got to.want it and put 100% in to get it

The staff was amazing. The groups were amazing. The snacks thet had was such a variety. christie the 2nd shift nurse was wondering! I found it helped me so much. No one there was judge.

JUST DO IT!! This facility was absolutely wonderful. Everything was nice and clean. Well maintained and all the amenities, included. It was never a problem to use the laundry room. Wash whatever needed to be washed you could take a shower whenever you felt necessary. Food and snacks galore. By the way, the food was pretty good, but they had movies games. You go to the gym every morning. Just everything you need to get in practice of living a healthy life And the staff is just amazing. If you have an open mind an open heart and you are ready and willing to change your life. These are the people that will help you do it it is not just a job to them them. They have lived it or lived with it in one fashion or another and they understand. they have compassion and empathy and they really want to see you succeed. The resources they have access to are amazing They will help you find a safe place to go if necessary after your treatment. there's just so much they will help you with but let me make it clear they will help you. They will not do it for you. You will have to do the leg work but they will help you. If it's out there they will help you or find someone who will help you get what you need. A lot of them spend their own time and money to make the experience More enjoyable and to take the edge off the seriousness sometimes. Far above and beyond what they have to do for sure. Just exceptional people I can say I did not have one bad experience. Some days I loved it. Some days I didn't want to be there but everyday I learned something whether I realized or not and sometimes it took a while to accept the truth but they were always there to talk to help to cheer you up. I laughed more than I have in years when you're in a room with people who have all been there, done that and you start telling stories. You just can't help but laugh sometimes the stupid things we do as addicts but you realize you're not alone and the past is the past tomorrow is a new day and it'll all be okay just take it one day at a time . There are so many people who made a difference in my life that I will never forget I can't possibly mention everyone by name but I would like to say thank you to all of you at Chestnut I would not be sitting here today with 3 months sober without you! The gateway foundation is filled with amazing and caring people some of them are even recovering addicts themselves. I can honestly say im 100000000% thankful for every single person at gateway from my counselor down to the Wednesday night speakers and every person counselor that holds every meeting i am truly 100000% thankful for you all.
