Went march-april of 2019 fresh out of 6 month jail bid. Couldn't ask for a better group of people all around. I was genuinely accepted and treated with dignity by both residents and staff. 28 days flew by and I was reminded of how |enjoyable life can still be even if you are sober. They let us smoke cigarettes on the patio outside and the food was outstanding and many times restaurant quality. I'll always have fond memories of this place. I can only hope that those that I met there are winning their battle with addiction or at the very least not giving up. They were all good souls that deserve happiness just as much as anyone else.

Hollis Center, ME | Day One – Residence is an adolescent addiction treatment center in Hollis Center, Maine offering residential care for teens facing substance use and co-occurring behavioral health challenges. The program blends counseling with evidence based approaches like the 7 Challenges, life skills training and on site education. Families often share lasting | Treatments Programs Payment Options | My experience at Providence Retreat was nothing short of life-changing. This is not a typical rehab, and that distinction matters. From the moment I arrived, it was clear that this was a place designed for deep spiritual work rather than clinical treatment—and that is exactly what I needed.
Providence Retreat offers something rare: space. Space to slow down, to reflect, and to engage fully with the Twelve Steps in a meaningful and intentional way. There is no overload of information or constant programming. Instead, you are guided methodically through the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous, allowing the process to unfold with clarity and depth.
What stood out most to me was the sincerity of the men leading the retreat. They are not professionals detached from the work—they are men who have walked this path themselves and are committed to passing on what was freely given to them. That authenticity creates an environment of trust, humility, and honesty that is difficult to put into words.
Providence Retreat is especially powerful for men who may have struggled in traditional treatment settings or stalled in their step work. It offers a new experience—one rooted in spiritual principles, accountability, and genuine human connection. The retreat does not promise overnight change, nor does it claim to be the end of the journey. It is the beginning. Spiritual progress is the goal, and if persisted in, the results truly are great.
Seeing alumni return to meetings to give back says everything about the impact of this place. Providence Retreat helped lay the solid foundation for my recovery and gave me tools I continue to use today. I am deeply grateful for the experience and would recommend it to any man seeking a sincere, spiritually grounded path forward.

I can’t say enough good things about RBH!! I showed up in October 2016 spiritual bankrupt Not happy to be there. Slowly but surely the staff and camaraderie between the residence help show me a a whole new way of life. Helped show me a new way of thinking an a whole new way of looking at the world. Gave me a solid foundation in the sober community in the lakes region which is where I still live today. I still feel very much part of the RBH community. I still have a lot solid friendships thanks to RBH and I love seeing the guys around town and at meetings. Lotta good memories!! Riverbank house definitely helped push my life in a positive direction and I’ll ever be grateful.

The experience I had at the Riverbank House changed my life forever in so many ways. I arrived at RBH in February 2016 and begrudgingly agreed to stay for 28 days, I ended up living there for almost 4 years because I just didn’t want to leave. The bonds and friendships I formed there still continue to this day. I will forever be grateful for the opportunity at a new life, and how to truly enjoy that life, that was provided to me by the Riverbank. My time at RBH was filled with compassion and laughter and memories I will always cherish. I’ve made a lot of mistakes in my life, but going to the Riverbank was certainly not one of them. I am grateful for every single me ever of the Riverbank brotherhood that I got to know during my time there, even that guy with the red beard.

Groups is AWESOME, I've been coming here for about 2 years I think. They are MORE than just a place to get your medicine and run, they are understanding and you can ALWAYS ALWAYS be honest with them. They will help you and be there for you to the best of their ability as long as you show up and participate. If you really want this, if you show that you care about your recovery, they show they care maybe more than you do!. The Group setting is a little nerve racking at first, but everyone is open and wants to listen and help, you just have to let people into your heart, its the only way ❤

What is good about Frisbie Memorial Hospital?
From administration to the medical staff to facilities and housekeeping to support staff and volunteers, there is a culture of pride, commitment and compassion. Within the last few weeks, both my husband and I were treated in the emergency room. The doctors, nurses, x-ray technicians, and support staff delivered quality care, timely updates, and clear and precise instructions. At 83 and 85, the likelihood of our needing follow-up care is "not "if" but "when." In summary, it is with gratitude and hugh sigh of relief that Frisbie Memorial Hospital is a heartbeat away. I have been to other treatment centers, and frankly, none of them compare to Green Mountain. It is filled with knowledgeable people who not only understand addiction but have lived through it and maintained long-term sobriety themselves. They were some of the first people I could genuinely identify with, and they gave me something I desperately needed: hope for the future. The team at Green Mountain takes seriously the responsibility of helping each person find lasting and meaningful sobriety, but they also understand that you have to be willing to listen and do the work. If you go during the summer, as I did, there is plenty of land to explore, which is a welcome change from being trapped inside the same building all day. Sure, you could go to a fancy facility with five-course meals, draw pictures of your disease, and make trigger lists longer than a 900-page Russian novel of every experience known to man, or you could go to Green Mountain and actually be challenged to discover who you are, confront what needs confronting, and learn to go beyond yourself through service to others. There is more depth at Green Mountain than other treatment facilities for those who seek it, and I will always be grateful to Green Mountain and Granite Recovery for helping me discover purpose and meaning when I was at the lowest point in my life. I am 13 months sober and I don't know if this would have been possible if I didn't go to Green Mountain.

A little over five years ago, my twin sister was caught in the depths of addiction. She was so lost and broken that I could barely recognize her as the sister I once knew.
Her path to recovery started at Canterbury Behavioral Health, and I can’t fully put into words what this place has meant for her—and for all of us. Because of the compassionate care and steady support she found there, I got my best friend back.
Today, she stands on the brink of six years of sobriety, dedicating her life to lifting others who face addiction and mental health battles. I am endlessly proud of her courage, her perseverance, and the person she is today!

My son was at summit for nine months, first in the Venture program and then in the Traverse program. He had been in other treatment programs before Summit and Summit was the most impactful for him. One thing that stood out was the supportive community, where vulnerability became possible. This was facilitated by all the staff and the program structure, but the guides stood out; in contrast to other programs the guides at summit are not only well-trained but they are devoted to the kids in a way that allows them to be both boundary setters and confidantes and mentors. Another standout element was the well thought out program--from the goals work in therapy to the structured planning for home visits. The regular feedback among the team members (the kids) was a huge asset in making this program work. At summit the kids are never made to feel that they are bad as they are in some programs; the balance between connection and support and holding boundaries is what really makes this program a standout among its peers.

I have however had the pleasure of meeting with some of their patient councilors, and they really go above and beyond. I would recommend this place to anyone seeking treatment. ❤️

I think the staff does a great job at New Season Concord, N. H. I constantly hear people talking bad about the clinic, and just putting it down. My thoughts would be that more then likely they probably would never open such a place of there wasn't proof of it working. Or should I say, if the success rate wasn't there. But anyways, in all reality, it honestly is what you make of it. You basically figure out how you want your goal of sobriety to go, with the help needed from the Doctor, Nurses, and the rest of the staff. And at the end of the day, you just continue to reach for the stars and never give up! Thank You again,
New Season Patient

You absorb the pieces you need and leave the rest for someone else to use. Its all about rediscovering who you are and realizing your own potential. Its not a cure, its not a permanent fix, but when I opened my eyes and ears, I got the message being conveyed and offered to us all. I am grateful because I was ready for this, come join us and become alumni... It changed my life and I hope it will do the same for you.

I've been struggling with sobriety for a few years now. Multiple detoxes and rehabs. I checked myself in to Liberty Bay detox in June and ended up committing to the full rehab, including a program after I went home. This is the most hopeful I've felt in my sobriety... almost 2 months clean and 2/3 done with this program. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and dedicated to every clients recovery, most of the staff has been exactly where I am. It is an amazing community I'm glad to call myself a part of. I've made a lot of friends here that will continue to be a huge part of my recovery and life.
