Couldn't ask for a better group of people all around. I was genuinely accepted and treated with dignity by both residents and staff. 28 days flew by and I was reminded of how \|enjoyable life can still be even if you are sober. They let us smoke cigarettes on the patio outside and the food was outstanding and many times restaurant quality. I'll always have fond memories of this place. I can only hope that those that I met there are winning their battle with addiction or at the very least not giving up. They were all good souls that deserve happiness just as much as anyone else. We flew my daughter from out of state for treatment as the state we live in doesn’t have the type of mental health care with coocurring substance abuse treatment (even though the facilities state they do). Canterbury so far has been the first facility to finally give my daughter the type of individualized care she needed. My daughter’s Case Worker Jen has been a Godsend. Jen became aware that my daughter was returning to New Hampshire for treatment and quickly took her under her guardian angel wings. Jen makes herself available to provide us as the parents reassurance with her knowledge at any time of the day, which is a blessing since we are not in the area to quickly come check on my daughter. I plan to come back and give an update on my review as treatment continues. So far, I highly recommend Canterbury for your family’s treatment! No place is perfect but the night he went there I was worried sick by the end of his stay I can say I put trust into the staff there. It is a nice facility for what it is. I liked how the kids were able to go outside and do some activities other than being confined to a room. My son mentioned he was cold one night and a staff member put blankets in the dryer so they were warm for him. Way to go seriously deserves recognition. This job is not easy! I also liked how there was a plan set in place for my son and zoom meetings were set up for me to attend when I couldn’t make it down there because I live over 3 hours away. The reception staff and security guards who met me at the front were all welcoming and nice. The only real complaint I have that made me a little uneasy was that my son had a cup of water dumped over his head by another patient and hurt his foot outside both times I was not contacted nor his dad of these events.
