Avenues Concord New Hampshire gave me the time I needed to heal and for my family to heal. The staff is amazing from the Bht’s the Therapist, the nurse practitioner and the facilitator’s. Coming to New Hampshire from Indiana was the best decision I’ve ever made in my life. This from start to finish is the finish program for recovery I have ever been a part of. They also have an amazing alumni program and wonderful alumni coordinator that helps keep us all connected. Avenues is the most instrumental part in me finding my way Home! I am forever grateful! My time at Avenues changed my life. I came in with a lot to work through, and I'm leaving with a stronger sense of who I am, a better understanding of my recovery, and tools I'll use for the rest of my life. The staff and clinical team made a real difference. I appreciated how much they focused on self-reflection and getting to the root of what drives addiction. Learning about Internal Family Systems (IFS) helped me look at myself with more compassion and understand myself on a deeper level. The people made it special. The connections I built with other residents reminded me I wasn't alone in this. Recovery doesn't happen overnight, and I know I've still got work to do. But Avenues gave me a foundation I feel confident building on. I'm grateful for the experience, the people I met, and the chance to start a new chapter. Hi my name is Ricki and I’m an alcoholic. This place quite literally saved my life. I was at rock bottom and the desperate cry for help I felt inside was almost as strong as the voice in my head telling me to use just one more time knowing it would probably kill me. I would’ve let it….but I took a chance. I went online and found Avenues, poured my heart out on the phone to a person I had never met, not wanting to die but not knowing what to do next. I was scared. I was broken. I was praying for death just so it went stop. They sent someone down from New Hampshire (I lived in CT at the time and it was at least a 2 hr drive), picked me up and took me back to Dublin where I met people that I didn’t realize would make such a huge impact on my life the way they did. Everybody has a story. We all came from somewhere but we all had one thing in common; we wanted to recover. We were choosing life. There’s something profound about cracking yourself open raw in a room full of strangers….then seeing the person next to you do the exact same thing. It’s okay to be an absolute mess. It’s okay to NOT be okay. It’s okay because you aren’t alone. We’ve shared tears, we’ve shared joy, we’ve held eachother without saying words because sometimes…there just aren’t any. We’d spend our mornings together outside with coffee watching the sun come up and play board games and ping pong in the evenings after dinner. I loved throwing the football barefoot on a sunny day with the BHTs and can say, with confidence, that my spiral is on point now. Avenues, to this day, is the best decision I ever made hands down. I miss it every day and everyone I met there. They listen, they’ve all gone through the process before themselves and they give a shit. I think the common misconception about rehab a lot of people have is that they think it’s supposed to “fix” them. Or that detox is enough. Rehab is meant to provide you with the tools you need to be successful on the outside. YOU have to do the work and it’s not easy. Sometimes it’s ugly and it’s bitter and downright painful and you just want to give up. I’m grateful everyday that I found Avenues because had I not and had I not learned what I learned with the people I shared that experience with….I wouldn’t be here today. Period. 3 years later and I’m still sober and I owe it all to them honestly. Avenues gave me my life back, gave my mom her daughter back, they gave me a fighting chance. Some days it’s still hard but when I think about everything I went through to get to this point and how much I’ve gained over the years, the struggle is worth it’s weight in gold. Thank you guys. I love you all and I hope to get up there soon for another group session. Truly the most remarkable chapter in my memory book and my family and I are forever grateful to you for helping me realize how much I actually mattered and that I was worth fighting for.

Avenues is amazing, and god put them in my path to recovery for a reason. From the staff, clinicians, and even management everyone cares, and wants what’s best for each person individually person. The peer led AA, and NA groups are life changing, from those, to the volley ball games, cornhole, ping pong, and the gym the community you have and developed here is unmatched, and for a person like me who’s been to a lot of rehabs it’s refreshing to be somewhere and feel like it’s a new experience. Avenues helped bring about the spiritual experience I was needing, and for that I will forever be grateful.

The best treatment center I’ve ever been to hands down!!! It being dual diagnose and a 12 step program is exactly what I needed. Avenues has been there for me now 3 times when I needed them most and the staff and clients are always the most accepting and supportive human beings on this planet.
